Minimum requirement of ODI app deployment

Hi,
We have an ODI application in development environment with master repository, work repository, dataserver database source and target database, mapping and transformation rules and scenarios. It is working perfectly and we want to deploy it in production enivronment. We have following questions:
1.What is the minimum requirement to deploy ODI application in production environment ?
2.We need to install ODI in production environment as ODI whitepaper suggest.Do we need to import all repositories and scenarios from development environment respective export? Though scenarios are stored in the work repository.
Thanks
Brijendra

Hi,
Do you have more than one option:
You can use production as context, it means, just create a production context (you can put a password on it) and then work at same repository that you are developing
OR
Create a new WORK repository (I recommend a execution one) where you will import the scenarios generated in the development and have the production totally separated from development.
I believe that the necessary requirements are the same of development, take a look at the Installation Manual.
Hope to have helped.

  • What are the minimum requirements for compiling apps for iOS7?

    Hi, guys.
I currently have a computer with XCode 4.6.3 and Mac OS X (v10.7.5).
Is this enough to compile apps for the AppStore for iOS 7?
What are the minimum requirements for compiling these apps? XCode version or both XCode and OS X versions?
    Thanks in advance,

OK, actually this site has a better explanation of the prerequisites:

  • ODI app deployment

    Hi,
After completion of ODI scenario, how can we deploy in the production system.
I know that I need to export and import into the production system.
But what all components I need to export-import?
And what components required on the production system(Do I need to install ODI on production system? If yes, Are all components required?? Should I create an agent ??)
    Kindly clarify

    Hi,
I guess you can try different paths -
    1. have your production and development under the same master repository. If you do this then your dev. env. will be a work repository and your production will possibly another work repository under the same master. In such case, you can simply export/import the scenarios to the production env. without much else to do.
    2. But, the above solution might not be accepted in many real life scenario. So, you need to install another ODI on a separate production box. You need to create a master repository in it and need to create the required dataservers in the topology. Now, you can run the imported scenarios from the Operator using a desired context.
    3. There can be other options where you will like to clone the dev. env. to the production env. and execute the ODI objects from there.
I am sure there are other combination as well.
    Thanks,

  • Windows 8 App Deployment in School Lab environment?

After doing some reading and research on Windows 8 Store app deployment from sources like
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39685 and this forum and I am getting pretty depressed.  Here is one part of my scenario which is pretty simple I think.
Lab of 20 Dell 3011 AIO Touchscreens that were depoyed with Win8Ent via MDT2012U1.  For simplicity I will talk about a subset of my problem.  I have 3 classes of Kindergartners who use the lab.  The students aren't capable of really logging
in themselves so the teacher logs them all in to a shared account for each class since all they do is web / app stuff.  I don't want to create 60 accounts for this young of kids since they can't handle the process anyway.
Here is my understanding of what I would have to do if I wanted to install Fresh Paint (a great free app) for all the students to use.
    1.  Create a minimum of 4 Microsoft accounts due to device limits of store app install.
    2.  Assign / attach those Microsoft accounts to specific lab machines (while logged in as each shared student account).
    3.  Login to each of my 20 lab machines as each of the 3 share accounts (which can't have roaming profile since Windows <-> Microsoft account association now needs to be unique).  This would be a minimum of 60 individual logins for this one
    app and one grade.
    4.  Install the app on a per user / per device basis.
    5.  Potentially repeat process any time an update is released since the students can't handle it themselves.
I think this is the majority of the process, am I leaving any important steps or details out?  This sounds like it would be HOURS of work to install ONE app for ONE grade.  I could potentially need 5-10 unique apps per grade.
This just isn't feasible on any type of scale.  Even this limited amount of devices / users is overkill when dealing with users who are to young to maintain their own devices or exist in lab environment.  In reading the doc refrenced above it doesn't
seem like there is a solution for this offered by MDT, SCCM or Intune?  Please tell me I am missing the magic deploy button?  Also I don't even want to begin to think about apps that aren't free and managing that.
    Thanks for any helpful info.

No, you're not missing the magic deploy button :(
If a Windows Store App (aka Modern UI app aka Metro App) is offered via the Windows Store, and not offered directly by the application developer, the only legitimate way to get that app is via the Store, and that requires an MS account.
    ConfigMgr offers two "deployment" methods;
    a) deep-link into the web-based Windows Store. The logged-on user must have an MS account and use that account to authenticate to the store. even if the app is free.
    b) sideload. requires the appx installation package.
There are some other suggestions, but they are unsupported, and rather complicated:

The last time I spoke with our MS contacts (deployment engineers @ MS), even those guys can't get the MS free apps to sideload.
All the documentation around sideloading appears to be catering for situations where a company has developed that app themselves, or, has commissioned a developer to create a custom app for the company.
Apps which are offered via the Store, seem to only be available via the store. I'm not sure if there is some kind of contractual obligation with MS which demands this? (i.e. in the store means no distribution via other means?)
At this time there are no options to federate an on-premises AD to the Store either. Which would be a nice option, even if it limited the user to free apps.

  • Adobe CS3 Windows 7 installation says does not meet minimum requirements

I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on a brand new Windows 7 machine (32-bit). It is a downloaded copy from Adobe's website.
When I start the install process, it takes me to the "Options" Screen and will not let me install Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. All those options are grayed out.
At the bottom, the reason it gives is as follows:
"The minimum system requirements listed below needed to run adobe photoshop cs3 are required and are not met:
    - Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
    - Windows Vista"
It gives the same error for the other 2 programs as well.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps already with no luck:
    1. Run Setup.exe as Administrator
    2. Run Setup.exe in compatibility mode (either as Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista)
    3. Logged-in to Administrator profile and tried installing from there
    4. did the regsvr32 on both vbscript.dll and jscript.dll.
    5. Tried the CS3 cleanup tool at multiple levels.
    6. Made sure there are no other Adobe products installed
    7. Called Adobe Tech support, they are no help. They said to re-install the OS, which doesn't make any sense since it's a clean install.
No AV installed yet, so that's not the issue either.
    Any ideas?

I realise I'm a bit late to the party here.. but after spending a few hours going through the Adobe CS3 Bootstrapper and Install process and files, I have the answer to why Windows 7 does not meet the minimum requirements.
The answer is in the xml files contained in the payloads for the CS3 Installation.
    Line 72786 of AdobeIllustrator13en_US.proxy.xml :
    <SystemRequirementsJSON>[
         {"OS":{"Windows":{"XP":{"Exclude":true,"Require":{"MinServicePack":"2","@servicePack64Bit" :1
    ,"Need64Bit":"0"}},"Server2003":{"Exclude":true},"Vista":{"Require":true}}},
                                  "Memory":{"System":{"Default":{"Require":"512","Exclude":"500"}}},
                                  "Display":{"Default":{"Require":{"Width":"1024","Height":"768"},"Exclude":{"Width":"800"," Height":"600"}}}
    ]</SystemRequirementsJSON>
Basically it is this: For Adobe Illustrator CS3 the following is supported: Windows XP SP2, or Vista ONLY
Not Windows XP SP2 or above, or Windows XP SP2 and Vista or above ...
The same is in several other files, but not all. Illustrator and InDesign are the 2 that I know of.
I have 500 odd machines that I need to deploy this software to.
If Adobe would like to offer a work around with consideration to deploying the software silently via Microsoft SMS to 500 Windows 7 Workstations - I would be most grateful.
My rage at software installer developers with such little foresight is only tempered by the knowledge that the task itself is so difficult.
However, that does not excuse the lack of thought given to how enterprise level administrators are supposed to deal with updates, patches, and deployments to machines where users have limited rights, and the difficulty that is caused by the inclusion of unhelpful and sparse documentation and software (such as Adobe Updater).

  • Best way to announce that the hardware does not meet the minimum requirements

         Hi Everybody!!!
I'm in the process of tiding my App up, and I stumbled into a requirement that needs to be addressed. I'm not quite familiar with the latest trends, so I was wondering if anybody could recommend a way to inform the user if the hardware
to use does not meet the minumum requirements.
         In a nutshell:
     * I just created a game using Direct3D / DirectX 11,
     * I'm using "DrawIndexedInstanced", which means that the videocard to use should meet at least DirectX v10 (my shaders are using model 9_3 but I tested it in a computer with DirectX9 model 3 (or so the nvidia brochure said), and the game pretty
    much died in my arms).
     * According to the App Certification Requirements: "if you choose a minimum feature level higher than 9_1, your app must detect at launch whether or not the current hardware meets the minimum requirements. If not, the app must display a message to
the customer detailing the Direct3D requirements."
     * I know how to detect the Direct3D level supported by the current videocard. What I would like to know is how to tell the user that the videocard does not support the minimum requirements.
I don't have much knowledge about the current trends:
     * I assume that displaying a message box may not be the best option, as that would mean I need to link the MFC layer to do so (the game is in Visual C++ and that's what I would do if it were one of my day-job projects). I'm quite sure that
is too much of a library just to show a message box... not to mention that most likelly the MFC is no longer supported in a Metro application...
     * I was thinking about displaying a nice graphic warning about the issue, but if the D3DDevice1 is not what I expect then I don't think I can be sure that at least it can display the graphic with the information.
     * I'm not quite sure if I should be linking to a .NET Library ("System.Windows.Forms" comes to mind), but then again maybe it's too much of a library for just a messagebox.
     * Then again, displaying that message in a command prompt may not be the best idea either.
         Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

         Hi Chuck,
I tried your idea, but the game always crashed when calling the DrawIndexedInstanced() function in a computer that only supported DirectX Level 9.1 (plenty of those computers at my day-job, sometimes I swear this office could be
a museum). The crash started as a driver unload call, and after that everything goes down.
I also tried using the WARP mode, but the performance was horrible, and after a minute of playing I started to have temperature issues with the CPU (I did not see that one coming)
What I finished doing was to create two sets of shaders (pixel and vertex):
     * If the feature reported by D3D11CreateDevice was 9_3 or above, I'd use my very own and happy shaders, compiled in 9_3 model. Beautiful performance with DrawIndexedInstanced().
     * If on the other hand the feature reported by D3D11CreateDevice was either 9_2 or 9_1, I'd use a set of shaders compiled for level 9_1. That seemed to be enough to draw a couple of images on the screen and tell the user, using my own game elements,
that the computer did not match the hardware requirements.
It looks like this was a good approach. My game passed the certification test, and it is currently on the AppStore.

    1. Newsfeed Webpart
    2. Blog webpart (source is library)
    3. CQWP
    4. Carousel web part
    5. Calendar control
Please tell all steps required to create apps for above mentioned functionality.
What will be steps and plan for this?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create apps to implement various web parts functionality.
You can use CQWP in the SharePoint Online. You can refer to:
When to use the Content Query Web Part or the Content Search Web Part in SharePoint - SharePoint Online for enterprises

  • This PC does not meet the minimum requirements for this version of iTunes

Trying to update my iTunes, the installer gives the error message:
"This PC does not meet the minimum requirements for this version of iTunes"
I have gone through the procedures listed in the support section, and have completely removed all Apple software, deleted the file folders etc etc.... still no joy.
This is most annoying as I've just received my brand new iPhone 6+ and I was trying to backup my old device to iTunes so I could restore it onto the new phone and get using it today.  Hacked off big time :-\

Well I've eventually managed a work-around.  Ver. 11.5.1 was no good because it wasn't compatible with my iphone 5, next one wasn't compatible with my iphone 6+, eventually got 11.4 installed so I could back up my old iphone 5 to it, then restore that backup onto my iphone 6+, which then wasn't up to date with the current iOS so I had to do that before it would sync my apps.
    What a ball ache.
If someone would kindly let me know when the latest iTunes works again I's appreciate it, until then I'll have to stick with what I've got.
I need to start again with my music collection, re-import everything and get it on my iphone, because I had to delete it all a few months ago when iOS updated because it didn't have enough storage space on the device!  Somehow lost it all off my iTunes in the process!
TBH I've always found the Apple system hideously complicated and infuriating when it doesn't work properly.  Instead of making it more and more complex it needs simplifying and making fool-proof so people don't have to go through all this BS just to use their **** phone!

  • Minimum requirements on Linux

What are the minimum requirements to run a WebStart ready JavaFX application on Linux?
    - Is an X server required?
    - Is an X window manager (Gnome, KDE, etc...) required?
Background: We'd like to develop a web application that would run under Linux and that would require as few resources as possible.
Maximum resources: Linux kernel -> X Server -> Gnome -> Firefox -> JavaFX application
Minimum resources (=Goal): Linux kernel -> JavaFX application ???
    Thanks

hm.. JavaFX is primary an technology to build GUI applets. So i think an XServer with an window manager is required (but you can use LXDE or some other lightweight window manager).
if you want to build command line apps, just use java.
    A webbrowser is not required.

  • Managed iPads Wireless App Deployment

We have several hundered managed iPads we connect to one OSX Maveriks computer via a USB sync cart running Apple Configurator we also have a OSX Maveriks server to manage user accounts.
It is time consuming to have to bring the iPads in to the cart to update an app or install a new one via Apple Configurator.  I recently read a whitepapers released in Feb 2014 that depolying apps over the wireless is not possible.  However,  the whitepapers did not have what was needed ro where to go or how tos on getting this working.  Being able to have apps deploy to ipads around the building when they connect to wireless would be a big help.  Where can I go to get this setup?  All I cna find are whitepapers saying it can be done now,  not system requirements and how to go about doing it.
Does this service use a particular IP port?  If so I'd need to know all the tech specs this uses over the wireless to get it working.

See if there is something here that helps....

  • Multiple Step App Deployment

I need to run multiple steps to deploy an desktop emergency alert system. The software requires an install via MSI with specific switches. Then I need to stop start/start a service. Then I need to add a batch file to everybody's start folder.
    I'm real weak at scripting.
Is there a simple way to do multiple steps for an app deployment?

When the 'installation' of an application includes multiple steps (like installing the software, adding some registry keys, adding/deleting files, etc.), you use a script for your Deployment Type's Program.  For example, a batch file might look like
    this:
REM Installs and configures my example application...
    :stopsvc
    SC STOP MyAppService
    :install
    MSIEXEC /i "MyAppUpgrade.msi" /q /norestart
    SET returncode=%errorlevel%
    :config
    REG ADD HKLM\Software\MyApp /v MyKey /t REG_DWORD /d "My Data" /f
    :shortcut
    XCOPY MyFile.bat "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\" /Y
    :startsvc
    SC START MyAppService
    :endEXIT /b %returncode%
I hope that's enough to get you started!

  • Android encryption password minimum requirements

Our office wil be buying a number of android smartphones soon and we will be encrypting them.
I want to reach out to our users ahead of time and have them come up with a password that they won't mind typing frequently.  I haven't been able to find out what the requirements are for an Android encryption password (not PIN)
I'm seeing varying requirements.  one device seems to require 8 character passwords, I've seen another require 6.  I checked my own phone and it seems to only require a 4 character password.
am I correct in assuming that the minimum password length is set by whoever creates the ROM?
if so, what does Verizon set theirs to and where can I find that information documented?
    Thanks!

No, I am talking about the built in encryption in android.  While, yes, if you decide to encrypt, Android links the lock screen password to the encryption if it meets the requirements.  there is no third party app required for device encryption.
This article refers to a 6 character minimum:
    http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-encrypt-android-device,news-17774.html
but like I said, I just tried to encrypt my personal phone and it seemed to be happy with a 4 character password.
so are the minimum requirements set by Android, or by Verizon, and where can I find them?

I'm the app's developer and I don't have experience in this subjects. Is the wl misconfigured? Should I do something from the app to reference the keystore?
    Thanks un advance.
    Sorry for my english.

Hi user10939158, thank you for your response. Maybe I was not precise in my previous post. I know how certificates work and that I should not be using self signed ones. Due to a reason (non technical) we MUST use a self signed certificates. Considering this as a prerequisite let me clarify my situation:
    - We added the certificate to the custom trust store connfigured in WL
    - We configure the managed server to be more "verbose" about SSL stuff
    - When the managed server start it outputs the following lines in the log:
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Notice> <Security> <BEA-090169> <Loading trusted certificates from the JKS keystore file /wldomains/desa_domain/TrustCTWebservices.jks.>
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Debug> <SecuritySSL> <BEA-000000> <SSLContextManager: loaded 1 trusted CAs from /wldomains/desa_domain/TrustCTWebservices.jks>
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Debug> <SecuritySSL> <BEA-000000> <Subject: CN=jserver, OU=SWG, O=IBM, C=US; Issuer: CN=jserver, OU=SWG, O=IBM, C=US>
    - In this lines we can see the certificate that interests us (jserver)
    - When the app do a WS reqeust we see in the log:
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:32:43 PM ARST> <Notice> <Stdout> <BEA-000000> <trustStore is: /opt/bea/jrockit_160_05/jre/lib/security/cacerts> (THE VM's DEFAULT KEYSTORE!!!!!!)
    - If we add the cert to /opt/bea/jrockit_160_05/jre/lib/security/cacerts everything works ok but I have doubts that this is right.
Why the default keystore is used?
    Thank you very much
    Regards
