Minisap 6.1 or 6.2

I want to install a minisap to learn ABAP on my notebook. I found 2 versions on SAP SHOP. They are versions 6.1 and 6.2.
I don't know, what is the big difference between these two versions? Installation of version6.2 requires NTFS file system, but mine is FAT32. If they are not so big different, I'd like to install version 6.1.
Who can give me some advice?

Hi,
Its better to install 6.2 version. Above all if you want to practise only ABAP programming and get a feeling of SAP system miniSAP is ideal. If you want to practise CI,PM,HR,.... modules you need SAP Ides or SAP ECC version.

Make sure that no other SAP system is installed on your computer
The SAP system requires serveral ports for communication services. Therefore the file %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\services must not include an entry for the ports 3200, 3600 and 8000. A possible entry can be excluded by using the hash symbol (#).
If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter. The procedure to install a loopback adapter is documented within the download package.

MiniSAP 6.20: ALV tree not working in background

Good day!
SAP provides a sample ALV tree program, BCALV_TREE_DEMO, which could be submitted in the background.
However, it does not work in MiniSAP 6.20. It's kind of bizarre as it works in our Test system.
Does anyone has any idea what's happening.

The ALV tree report is submitted in the background.
By right, it should produce an ALV tree report in the print spool.
However, it does not seem to work. I checked the program and found there is a logic to check whether it's a background job or not. If it is, it would not create the container.
It's bizarre that it does not work in MiniSAP 6.20 but it works in 6.10

SAP R/3 and miniSAP

Hi there,
I am new to SAP and I recently installed SAP R/3 on my computer which i had bought from Ebay...here is a link with the product that i installed.

However, after reading the introduction to SAP, I have come to realize that what I really needed to buy or install was SAP BW since Business Warehousing is the field that I want to pursue.
My computer has 2 hard drives (C drive has 160gb) and (E drive has 70gb)
SAP R/3 is currently installed on the C drive and works just fine.
I would to install miniSAP on my computer as well. However, I noticed that there was a restriction for installing miniSAP indicating:
"Make sure that no other SAP system is installed on your computer"
Is it possible to install miniSAP on my computer...but instead of installing it on the C drive....put it on the E drive. ?
It would be nice to have both SAP R/3 and SAP BW installed on the different hard-drives.
Please let me know if this is possible or what my options are.

If by miniSAP, you are referring to the current sneak previews (since you can't get miniSAP on SDN anymore), then yes, you can install both R/3 and sneak preview (ABAP SP11) on one machine.
That being said, if you really need to only work on BW/BI, then you don't really need R/3. Unfortunately, the download for ABAP SP11 is currently not available, hopefully it will be up soon.

How to install 2 instances of minisap on the same computer

Hello, is that possible to install 2 instances of minisap on windows? (so that to make RFC tests from system to system, but I could try some other features, like system landscape, etc.)
In particular, I have an old minisap 6.20 installed, and I want to install minisap nw2004s : I have chosen a directory, but the sapdb directory is fixed ("c:\sapdb"), and is the same as for the minisap 6.20 (thus, I guess that the old sapdb will be overwritten and thus I can't have 2 minisap instances). Do you know whether it's possible to change maxdb directory ?

while Accessing the logical database F1S gives a syntax error because the
include DBF1SF01 is missing.
so i have used the mbspatch1 that comes with the cd.
i have copied the mbscorr0104200 file in the directory '<MBS_DIR>\trans\tmp' as mentioned.
and i have followed the steps as follows.but i have the same problem.please have a look at the
process below and hel me to make it work roerly.
this roblem is really eating me a lot and since many in this forum are sap master,thought

The ReadMe.txt from MBS_patch1.zip, says:
1) Copy the file MBSCORR01042000 to C:\MBS\trans\tmp.
2) Open a DOS window (RUN cmd).
3) Change directory to C:\MBS, thus:
C:\local\user>cd C:\MBS
4) Execute the command to set the environment, thus:
C:\MBS>dbenv.cmd
5) Change the directory to C:\MBD\trans\tmp thus:
C:\MBS>cd trans\tmp
6) Run the import, thus:
C:\MBS\trans\tmp>..\..\R3trans.exe -i MBSCORR01042000
NOTE 1: The '..\..\' is part of the command, it is telling the OS where to find R3trans.exe.
NOTE 2: Use R3trans.exe not just R3trans.
NOTE 3: This assumes you have installed miniSAP in the directory C:\MBS.

In MiniSap you got two users BCUSER (For Development) and DDIC (for table mantenience).
You can't mix the functionality of both...I tried...but failed -:P

Problem! License in MiniSAP Netweaver 7.2 Trial Version (no hw key and not anything else)

I am working on my final term paper at university with the MiniSAP Netweaver 7.2 Trial Version but after a month using it I am having some troubles.
1 - I can not access minisap (system NSP) with BCUSER because the license is not valid.
2 - I can log on the system with user SAP* and can access SLICENSE transaction but here I have more issues:
2.a - New License and Old License buttons are not working (no action when I click on them) and they just appears in tab "Goto"
2.b - No Hardware Key
2.c - Screen different from the other guys that I checked here in forum.
My initial screen:
I could get the hardware key using the command saplicense -get and I entered in that link (.../minisap) and get a file:

But when I try to install it the screen that I get is this one:
Again, no HW key, no expiration date, status blank (grey)... If I try to log on again using BCUSER I have the same message (invalid license key).
Another point in command, saplicense -show, I have the result below:

And in the SAP Management Console:
I have all my software in this system to use in my term paper for university and I need to continue using the system with BCUSER to finish it.

Yes, I obtained it through this link.
The HW Key I got via command (saplicense -get) and the the system ID I selected the option:
NSP - SAP Netweaver 7.x (Windows/MaxDB).
I am using a virtual machine with Windows 7 in a MacBook.
The first strange behaviour in this system is the SLICENSE transaction.
Because I don`t have the New License pushbutton and the Old License pushbutton, just in the tab Goto and when I push it, nothing happens.

About your FICO query...Well...SAP software is very expensive...Because it's target to large enterprises and not for individuals...
Have you take the FICO course? Or just wanted to do the exam? In the course, they should give you free access to a Sandbox system...Otherwise...You need to work in a company that it's already using SAP...

Exposing an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in Minisap

Hi all,
i'm trying to expose an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in my Minisap installation. Everything works fine, until i actually want to finish the Web Service wizard. It always quotes that the object can only be deployed in an sap paket. If i try to put it in the $TMP paket, by marking it as a local object, i always get the message that test objects can not be deployed in external pakets.

Furthermore the virtual interface with the name i selected in the Web Service wizard seems to exist, at least i can not try to deploy the Web Service again with the same name. Actually, i also can't find a place where i can delete the virtual interface. Any hint on that issue is also appreciated.

I wanted to write a web service adapter:

public class MyWebService implements StreamSender {
     private StreamSender eventSender;
     @WebMethod
     public void echo(String msg) {
          eventSender.sendInsertEvent(new MyEvent(msg));
After deploying I've got NullPointerException, eventSender is null. This is because MyWebService instance is NOT on the spring context, since it was created by jetty via reflection.
So now I'm trying another approach. I want to inject an adapter from the spring context into the web service:

So far i'm getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError for org.springframework.web.context.support.WebApplicationContextUtils (org.springframework.spring-web_2.5.6.jar), and trying to figure out where is the jetty classpath.

How to install Minisap 6.1 in Windows Vista?

Helo gurus, how are you?
Before i install windows vista, i need to know if is possible to install minisap 6.1 with windows vista. Anybody did the installation in windows vista? Are there patches for download or other configs to change??
Anyone asked this before in the forum ( i did not find anything ), so, i am asking now, please help me. Thanks!
If it is not possible, please, answer about others versions of minisap.

I've tried to install Minisap on Vista & get the following error when triggering "Start SAP ABAP Engine":
              ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED: Access is denied. [shmnt.c      2055]
[Thr 980] *** ERROR => ShmCreate: Create (5,4096,1) failed [shmnt.c      469]
[Thr 980] *** ERROR => [CreateOsShm] CreateFileMapping(5,4 KB) failed with Err=5
If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know!!!

MiniSAP

hey guys
I recently installed miniSAP in my computer after a long painfull process... Sorry but I'm very new in the area.
I just have one problem after the installation... I can't see page on the object navigator (SE80) which is on the left-hand, on the top.
If you see the book "ABAP Objects (Figure 2.6 pag 17)" is the object list which shows:
Program
Application hierarchy
Function group
Class/ Interface
Internet Objects
Local Objects
Instead of that I can only see a page with a message like this " The page cannot be display" like an internet page when you don't have internet connection.
Well.... Could anybody help me with this problem??? maybe there aren't a good connection to the server....I really don't know!

Developer Key for MiniSAP

Gurus:
Does anyone know how to get a Developer Key for MiniSAP?
I had successfully installed MiniSAP and have been coding ABAP for a month...now I had to update the License for MiniSAP and since I have successfully installed the new license (good for 90 days), now when I enter SE38 to modify or create my code it asks for a Developer's Key (also called a License Key).
If I go to OSS with my S-User that doesn't work either, as DEMOSYSTEM is not a registered system to ask for a key.
I'm stumped....any guidance would be deeply appreciated, as at the moment...no coding possible.
(I could reinstall MiniSAP, but then I lose all my code) eh?

P.S. I do see the key # in the table DEVACCESS, but when I type in that key for BCUSER...well...nothing....doesn't accept that key.
