I have currently install Minisap. Installation was successfull but when I try import a transport using STMS I keep hitting the following error :--

I am having the same error.
The server is a cluster-system. Profile-settings seem to be ok:

Does the script do a ps -ef and grep for a PID, or does it look in a file for a /var/run/pid file? I would look at the script to see what it is looking for that is tied to the PID of 28704.
You could also check to see that the script's first line has the correct shell defined.

Error while installing CE 7.1 - Cannot determine parameter SAPGLOBALHOST

Hello All,
I am currently installing preview version on CE 7.1 and got the following error.
"Cannot determine parameter SAPGLOBALHOST from default profile C:\usr\sap\CE1\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PFL. SOLUTION: Add the parameter to the default profile."

Hi, trying to install NETWEAVER ABAP TRIAL 7.01 SR1 and I had the same error message: "Cannot determine parameter SAPGLOBALHOST from default profile C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PFL. SOLUTION: Add the parameter to the default profile.". I've checked how to fix this, but I'm still not sure how to change profile parameters. Ithink it's been installed locally (if i install this way the ms loopback adapter should be turned on?).

Dreamwever CS5 ERROR server behavior panel cannot determine wheter "command" or "recordset (Query)"

i get this error whenever i open pages created in CS4. ive tried deleting the cache file... deleting the entire configuration folder and letting DW re build it.. nothing... error still there. how can i turn it off? i also cant seem to find the "edit server behaviors" button.. double click? well DW freaks out with that aswell... yes i know i have some insanely hand edited code.. basically use DW as notepad replacement.. with extra features like having the option of "add recordset" then going and editing it to my liking.

this is a total show stopper for me.. im going to have to go back to a previous version cant click "ok" every time i open a page.. and every time i follow a include file.

Hi all,
i have installed the NW2004 s sneek preview. Trying to deploy a web dynpro application. Yesterday i was able to.
Today The deployment fails with the message
Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !
1) I am able to log on to SDM.
2) Can see SDM as running in sapmmc
2) the J2EE engine in the SAP netweaver developer studio shows SDM as green color
With parameters
state Running
Productive use No
Debug Off
Is there any problem with SDM. I have found quite a number of threads but knon could solve the problem. The problem looks more so complciated since I was able to deploy yesterday but am unable to today.

Make sure that your NWDS has the j2ee engine linked to it. Under windows->preference->SAP j2ee engine.
If it is configured here, then you should be good. If it is still not working, try to reboot the j2ee engine and try again.

E613 SYST: You cannot determine the period for rule 03

Dear All,
We are configuring asset module and using MSTL dep key for Tax books. When we tried to create an asset with MSTL dep key, we encountered error - 'E613 SYST: You cannot determine the period for rule 03'. when verified config OAVH Define Calender Assignments transaction, Period control '03' is missing for fiscal year variant K4. Period control is exisiting in Maintain Period Control and but not in Define Calender Assignment. What I understand these period controls are being delivered by SAP. Not sure why period control '03' is missing. all other period control keys are available.
question is how to add period control 03 so that we can use MSTL dep key. we are currently using 4.7c. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If I follow SAP help to define period control '03', then I just need to copy period control '01' which is listed above and select 'Mid Month' check box.
Wondering anyone did this in the past. MSTL depreciation key is being used in MACRS tax for US. I am sure people who have implemented assets module for US with tax dep, they might have encountered this issue.

Cannot determine a value for an exit variable in the Formula fn w/p empty

Hi All,
We have an exit variable Z_EX_AR_VAR, the would read a hierarchy node input variable (Z_HN_AREA), which is furthur based on a hierarchy input variable (Z_HR_AREA), and wouuld return the first leaf of it.
We have implemented a input ready query based on this exit variable and it is getting the first node and is input ready and saves the data to the database.
It works well in the query when we have filtered the characteristic with the hier and hier node and the exit variables.
We need to use the same value to be used in the Fox function.
As per the requirement, the Fox function has to process the zero (empty) records.
So, we have customized formula function to process emptry records.
And in the function of type formula function that processes empty records, we have used the following statement.
DATA AR type ZAREA.
AR = VARI ( Z_HN_AREA, HIENM=Z_HR_AREA, 1).
We are getting the following error message:
Cannot determine a value for the variable Z_HN_AREA.
Planning function ended with errors.
What is that we are doing wrong here. Is it with the 'Process Empty Records' function that cannot read the variable.
How come this variable is working in the query and it is not working in the FOX.
We have done the variable to variable binding in the WAD also. Still the same problem.

Hi All,
Michael Wolf from SAP confirmed that we cannot use VARiable read functions in the customized Formula function that processes the zero (empty records) as he spoke to SAP AG about the issue.
Hence we have made a work around by creating a valid record using a dummy key figure in the Custom Formula function that processes empty records so that in the next step, the regular Formula function would get executed, where we could access the variable values by using VARV, VARI functions.

Error while determining logical Port

Hi
This is a ECC to SRM scenario:
I get this error in the Call Adapter step. I am using WS Adapter at the receiving side.
"Error while determining logical port Cannot find logical port for agreement abc and interface xyz"
Why do I get that error and any suggestions ?

I didn't fix any issue. I was trying tofind out why the error happens. There is a proxy created at ECC side. I saw that. But target is using WS Adapter and it's that adapter which is throwing errors about logical port.
I read the blog but couldn't figure out. Does WS Adapter need proxy code? Can it work without proxy code? I don't see any proxy code for receiver WS Adapter. I was wondering whether the absence of the proxy code gave this error about logical port

MR11 error - Error while determining currency type - C+, 171!!!

We try to do MR11, with some of the companies we do not have a problem but a few of them give us the following error message.
Message no. C+171
Error while determining the currency types for 20000134668 00001
Procedure
Check the configuration.
All the companies are set up with parallel currencies.
Currency Type: 10 Company code currencies
30 Group currencies
Please tell me what I need to do get this fixed.

With this answer I could solve this error:
when a purchase order is referenced to a
Material/Plant and this Plant is not yet productive in ML! You can
check this in transaction CKM9.
Also this can be seen in transaction OMX1
(IMG: Controlling -> General Controlling ->
Multiple valuation approaches/Transfer prices -> Basic settings
-> Check Material ledger settings -> Activate Valuation Areas for
Material ledger) for valuation area 1111 and company code 1111 the
material ledger is active.
However, in transaction CKMLOH (This transaction is used to view
PO history of particular use where material ledger active as you can
switch between the currencies.):
If you know the PO click on the overview button (F2) and then Click
on the display button, you will see the error C+020. If this is so,thenplease either deactivate ML again or set it productive, but the current
state of the config will block these kind of postings since they would
result in corrupt data.
For more information about ML active please review the note 596558.
Also take a look to the notes 108374 and 425487 for your information.
Kindly note that ALL historical data in PRODUCTION system will be lost
with deactivation and activation of Material Ledger again.
It cannot be recovered after activating Material Ledger again!

I'm trying to create a stand by database with the same tools as described above. My configuration is the same.
I've checked in my database and I already got the value 'Intel Pentium' described in the query. I tried the query anyway but, as I was expecting, it didn't solve anything for me.
If somebody could explain a bit on what actually generate this error and what OMS is looking for in MGMT_TARGET_PROPERTIES, it would be great.

Cannot determine Internet graphics server on portal

Hi Experts,
We have installed BI server and EP (NW2004s). BI Java is installed on Portal.
While running the BI query from WAD, with a template, only the tabular data is displayed and we are unable to display the graphs. There is an error message in portal Cannot determine Internet Graphics server. Please let me know if there is any additional configuration to be done for this.

Check the following:
1. From portal system, Visual Administrator , server > services > Configuration Adapter.
Rightside > webdynpro >sap.com> tcwddispwda > property sheet default > give IGS URL .
http://<IGS server name>:4<nr>80
nr = instance number.
2. Try executing the report in BI "GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN" and check for the graphical ouput.
If the result is negative, check the RFC destination IGS_RFC_DEST.
Registered Server Program ID for the RFC (TCP/IP) should be of the format: IGS.<SID>

You will get a window opened in that
on the left hand side you have the SAP J2EE Engine option
double click on that
if you are using a server which is situated remotely then go for 1st option
Mesassage Server Host:--<Ip of the server>
Meassage Server Port :<port no>(Generally 3901)
If you have server installde locally on your system then go for the 2nd option
ther will be a browse you acn dind ur server and select that.

Cannot determine comparator for Sortfield

I have a DataGrid that gets its data from an HttpService. If
the first row of the data from the http request has a null value
for a given field, I get the "Cannot determine comparator for
Sortfield" error.
I think the simplest workaround would be to specify the data
type for each DataGridColumn. I see that the DataGridColumn objects
can have a sortCompareFunction. I don't want to write my own custom
comparators. I assume that the built-in comparators will do just
fine.
Suppose my MXML code looks something like this...

<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="My Integer" dataField="ss"

What values would I use for the sortCompareFunctions in order

types, respectively?

One trick that I've used in the past (which wont really give
you type specific ability) is to check the returned data prior to
assigning it as a dataProvider. In my case the data is xml based
son I don't get nodes, but possible missing elements all together.
I check for their existance for each row (in your case test for
null) then assign a default value (-1 for int, 6/6/2006 for date
etc...). After populating the 'voids' in my data I assign it as the
dataProvider in ActionScript.
To get more type specifc, you may want to look into using a
data model and check out the validator classes.
