Minor problem with geforce ti4200 128 mb

Ok... The problem I get with this card is that, you know when you go to
display properties > advanced > Geforce > overlay controls
you get to change the brightness and stuff, when I do, it doesnt work. Now I tried this with my TNT2 card and it works fine so I don't think its any hardware issue... Anyways, help is appreciated thanks!
BTW, I am running in windows XP and have the latest detonator drivers and graphics drivers.

Hi,
I have the same card and have used it with no problems whatsoever on an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe and an MSI K7N420, MSI K7N2G-ILSR and my current ABIT board without any problems with 3DTurDo or in any games. I have seen the  "nv4disp.dll" before on other systems sporadically but it was usually cured by a proper removal of the current nVidia drivers and installation of the latest drivers, however, I have not used the latest nVidia drivers for that card. I have stuck with later versions from 41.09 - 45.XX only. It is most likely a combination of drivers, improper configuration, driver istallation and removal, or possibly the game itself could be buggy. That's a tough one to pin down.
Give my post at the top of the VGA forum a read  "Alternative to MSI drivers with overclock settings too!"
Do yourself a favor and stay away from MSI's drivers, I have seen more problems with them as they make changes to install and uninstall routines that are questionable, not to mention they test them in such a way I also might find questionable as well. nVidia's site has an archive of past drivers and so does Driver Heaven.
If you decide to reformat again, I recommend installing service packs, then chipset drivers, then VGA drivers.
Good luck

  • Strange visual problem with Geforce4 ti4200

I have a Geforce ti4200 128 MB 4X running on a MSI KT4V-L motherboard. the processor is AMD 2600+ and i use WIN XP.
I cant manage to fix a problem which is the following: there are these faded, black, flickering, horizontal lines that run up the background of the screen.
i updated the geforce drivers and the motherboard drivers but nothing changed. i tried underclocking using RivaTuner...nothing. What could be wrong? i really need the help, thanx!

    Maki,
it is one of two things. Either your Monitor died or your Vid Card overheated and damaged itself.
The only way you know is:
1)Try the monitor on another comp.
2)Try the vid card on another monitor.
    Take Care,

  • Minor Problem with CSS?

I'm having a minor problem with my CSS for the menu on this page.  The child "2014 Fall Season" under "Season Information" is not adopting the font attributes that all of the other children sub menus are using.  I've racked my brain and can't figure out why.  Any thoughts?

  • Problem with Geforce 2 MX400 Tv Out

Okay. I know this card is old to new standards, but I am having a problem with the TV Out.
    This is the setup.
AMD XP1700+ machine running Win ME using an 8meg ATI Rage XL PCI as the primary video card. The secondary video card is the Geforce which is running Powerpoint in secondary mode for Worship Services at our church. Our church has grown and has decided to place powerpoint televisions on the stage for the singers. I am trying to get the Geforce TV Out to work, but when I go into the advanced settings, I cannot select the output device to TV Out, it is grayed out. All I can have it on is Analog Output.
I have also tried this with the Geforce as the Primary adapter as well. Same problem. I have downloaded the drivers many times, and removed the card, removed the drivers, same problem.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
    Thanks in advance
    John Baltimore.

have you tried the autodetect button? the tv must be on (and connected to the tv-out) for this to work.

  • Minor problem with protective c

Ok so I recently purchased the Creative Zen Vision M Mp3 player. It's great so far and I have no real complaints about it at all, well at least not yet, but I think i'll love this player once I get used to it. By the way the touch pad isn't as bad as people seem to make it out to be, at least it is not for me.
Anyways I also bought the protecti've leather case that was designed for this MP3 player, here is my problem though. When I try and press the buttons like play/pause, the options button, back, etc with the leather case on they don't seem to do anything. I take the case off and it works fine. It's a minor problem, but I can see it becoming annoying after so many times of taking the case off to select a different song or change options or to even pause the song.
Has anyone had this minor problem and if so were they able to find a solution? Any help would be great.

  • Graphics Corruption in Some Apps - Problem with Geforce GT750

    Hi
I am recently facing a graphics corruption problem with my 2013 MBPr. Yesterday I noticed that the window that shows the mail in Mail.app suddenly showed just some noise (just some strange colors). I restarted the app and it was gone. Then I installed a game named "Tales from the Borderlands". On the menu of the game I noticed the corruption again. Every time I would exit and rerun the game, the distortion would randomly change. Here are some examples:
The problem appeared throughout the game too.
Then I forced "Integrated Only" using a gfxCardStatus to use Intel Iris Pro instead of Geforce GT750. I started the game and the problem was gone. I tried some more times again by switching GPUs and every time I noticed that the problem is with Geforce GT750 and Intel Iris Pro has no problem.
Any ideas what is causing the problem and what should I do? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Tormirez,
I can't believe my eyes.. I actually was afraid this might happen.
Since I've been following the 2011 MBP forum after i had my MBP repaired (reflow by someone near Antwerp, Belgium), I've been learning some specific things about the very likely nature of these GPU issues.
All these issues seem to be related to the replacement of leaded solder by nearly pure tin solder + not soldering according to the best profile (temperature vs time).
The factor of time saving = money saving may very well play a role here.
When you consider the nature of that leaded solder problem versus the soldering profiles, it's not hard to imagine that the problem isn't just in the 2011 model range, but may actually have started FROM that range...! I've already heard that some 2012 models also failed in a similar way.
It may all be quite logical; tin solder needs a roughly 60ºC higher temperature to get into full liquid state then leaded solder.
As the cheapest way to produce boards is probably rolling entire boards through ovens, melting the parts on it, it would require very precise monitoring of temperatures UNDER the CPU and GPU, to be SURE you have a full flow going on.
But, at the same time, as you're cooking ALL components around 240ºC, they may have chosen not to stay at this temperature long enough. Or, maybe they stop at 240ºC, while 242ºC might be the minimum required temperature to guarantee full flow.
Etc.. It's a very complicated mix of factors that determines if small or large batches of board could contain errors at all or not.
But it may at least be called "bizarre" that these solder errors are found in tens of thousands 2011 MBPs, but also in 2012 models, and in the PS4 and also other brand Windows PCs!!
If you want to test your GPU hard, download GpuTest OSX x64 0.7.0 from ( geeks3d . com / gputest ) and run the FurMark based stress test on HD resolution for 30-60 mins straight, then turn your machine off completely for 15-30 mins (until it's really cold, put it down on some cold stone floor might help), then repeat several times.
If the same problem would be hidden in there as in the 2011 models, this is the way to get it triggered soon.
If you ask me, this might be the first report of the same problem in the 2013 series.....
Question; do you game a lot? If you answer yes, then it would pretty much make a connection to this similar problem I think!
I'm curious about the results of the stress test!

  • Problems with IE and 128-bit encryption -- correction

Repost with corrected e-mail address -- sorry!
Hello. I'm having a problem with 128-bit SSL and Internet Explorer.
I'm using WebLogic 5.1 (128-bit build) and a Verisign certificate.
We're seeing some strange behavior with Internet Explorer. It seems to
work fine from some machines, but doesn't work from others. On the ones
that it doesn't work, it gives the "The page cannot be displayed"
message. I've tried this with IE 4.0.1 (with 128-bit patch) and IE 5.5
(128-bit by default) and have the same problems with both. We're seeing
this problem across various Windows operating systems, but aren't seeing
any pattern there. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

The Mozilla browsers which include Firefox has supported 256-bit even encryption for a long time now.
The issue could perhaps be the e-qip site is still looking for the old obsolete '''U''' in the useragent which was used to specify the encryption strength of 128-bit though 256-bit has been supported for a long while already at time by Mozilla applications. This "U" was removed in Firefox useragent as of 4.0 which was released March 22nd, 2011. The old 3.6.x was the last to have it.

  • Well, some minor problems with my GF4ti 4800

    Hello
I have some problems with my Geforce 4 MX 440 - 8X. I updated all of my drivers and tried evreything.I have no problems playing games using this card. Everything is perfect. But then, when I enter the MSI 3D!Turbo Experience, the program will encounter some problems and will be closed. If I go to the display propeties and enter either MSI information or MSI Clock, again it will be closed due to errors. I don't think that this is the problem with my motherboard because if the motherboard is faulty, it wouldn't work with any GPU in the first place. I really want to rectify this problem so that I can tweak my card to the fullest ( or maybe this card is a total piece of crap). The following is the specification of my system
    Pentium 4 2.4 B ( 533 Mhz FSB)
    Asus P4S8X motherboard
Kingston 512 MB PC 2700 DDR ram
Maxtor 40 GB Diamond Max plus 8 HDD
    MSI Geforce 4 MX 440 T8x ( ms8890)
Creative Sound blaster Live 5.1 SE
    Samsung DVD rom
    Imation CDRW
    a 400 W PSU casing
    * I also have a MSI Geforce f Ti 4800. It also has the same problem. These cards would work perfectly on another comp of mine. *
Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
    Chang K.L.

    i just bought this card
    i formatted my harddrive
reinstalled winxp pro updated to service pack 1
and installed cumultive patch for internet explorer
when i try to click on the tabs "MSI information" & "MSI clock"
    i always get a rundll32.exe error
also MSI 3D!Turbo Experience crashes internet explorer
    with an error

  • New power supply did't fix problem with geforce 4400

I continue to get flashing on the monitor and locking up problems with my new MSI geforce 4 ti 4400 card despite installing the latest Nvidia driver and new Compuserve 500W power supply (30A on the +3.3).  Everything I've read here said it was probably my old 350W power supply.  Not so.  What do I try now?
    Here's my specs:
    P4 2.0
    Soyo Ps4 Dragon Ultra
    1 gb ddr ram
    80gb WD hard drive
    Soundblaster Live 5.1
    Windows XP
    Compuserve 500W ps
    Viewsonic VA 800 monitor
    I really need help!

I had similar problems when I tried to use an MSI GF4 Ti4600 and Windows XP Professional locks up at the splash screen. I also tried a Leadtek GF4 Ti4600 and got the same results. I had already upgraded my power supply from a Antec TruePower 330 watts to 480 but to no avail.
Turns out the problem was caused by my brand new Gigabyte GA-8IEXP rev. 1.2 motherboard not fully supporting AGP 2.0 voltage requirements required by the power hungry GF4 Ti4600 cards though their tech support would not confirm nor deny this. Even upping the core and AGP voltages via the BIOS didn't help.
I then bought an Intel D845EBG2L motherboard (that stated AGP 2.0 compliance in the manual in addition to AGP 4X support) and the GF4 Ti4600 ran great  :P

  • Minor Problem with MagSafe Power Adapter

I got my MBP almost a year ago now (partially why I'm asking the question) and I've noticed that my power adapter doesn't always show the charge light. Sometimes it is not on at all, and sometimes it is less bright in color (both green and amber).
If I remove it and put it back it usually corrects itself.
It if fully functional; even if the light is completely out and plugged in it still shows as charging.
So, is this normal? I never remember having this sort of problem with my PB G4.

I would think the led light on my adapter cable was broken, but I discovered it works fine on a co-workers MBP. His adapter, which we know works, does NOT work (ie. the led does not come on) when attached to my computer. This indicate to me that the problem, whatever it is, can sometimes be with the computer and not the adapter.
I would be curious if others with apparently dead leds have tried their chargers on other MBPs.
Here's the long version of my story:
My 5W MagSafe completely fried after only 9 months.
The new adapter was fine for several days until this morning.
My "low battery" warning popped up, so so I plugged it in to recharge and immediately noticed the little led on the charger cord did not come on.
I found it hard to believe that I had another bad adapter, so before making the trip back to the store, I went into the studio where there are some other MBP users.
I plugged my adapter into another laptop and the led came on. It appeared to function completely normally. I tried MagSafe adapters from two other MBPs, but the led did not come on on either of them while attached to my computer.
This made me think there was some sort of problem with the connector on the computer itself. Just visually, it appears to be clean and corrosion free.
The next obvious step, it seemed, would have been to try swapping batteries with the other laptops, but mine is a 17" and everyone else here has 15"... and so we have different battery sizes.
One of the people here at the studio had a little utility called "Coconut Battery", that reports information about the battery health. When I ran it on my laptop, I got what I thought were rather surprising results.
It showed the usual things like current charge (21%), battery capacity and so on. But under "Additional Info" it said "Charger connected: Yes" and "Battery is charging: No".
I figured this narrowed it down to a problem with the battery. But as I was showing these results to my co-worker, the "Current Battery Charge" changed from 21 to 22%. Huh? We left it plugged in and it continued to show a steady climb in the charge, as if it is working normally. Except there is no led light, and the software still says it is not charging. Odd.
I then noticed that the built-in battery level indicator on the status bar was also showing the same increases. The led lights on the back of the battery are indicating an increase as well.
Just out of curiosity, I ran a second battery health analyzer program and again got these conflicting results. This one reported the same battery charge and capacity and so on as the previous one. It also recognized that the laptop was running off of AC power, that there was a battery, but it said "Not Chargeable."
So now I am going to let it continue until I have a full charge and then see if the computer will run as usual from the battery.
I don't think the store here is going to give me another adapter since this one appears to work just fine on the other computers.
Any thoughts on why the led would work on other laptops but not mine?
Why the battery health monitors report that the battery is being charged, but also that it is "not chargeable"?

  • Resolution problem with GF4 Ti4200-TD 128MB DDR

I am having problems when I switch my display resolution to 640x480x32.
It also affects any application which runs in the affected resolution.
I tried re-installing the VGA card in its AGP slot and its drivers after removing my previous VGA card and its drivers.
The driver that i am using for the MSI VGA card, which is 4.13.2890, is already updated via LiveUpdate, which is now 4.1.3.3000
    My system consists of:
      AOpen AX34 Pro Motherboard
      AGP 2X / 4X
      Intel Pentium III 800MHz
      512MB RAM
      Direct X 8.1
      Windows Me
Looking forward to you reply. Thank you for your help.

    izel,
Get the latest Via 4in1 Drivers and try running the Card in AGP 2X.  Do not expect much from the Via Apollo Pro 133 Chipset.  Lots of problems with the GART.

  • I'm having a minor problem with "screen drift" - the page moves slightly up and down when moving my mouse around the screen, and continues to do so after stoppi

I've installed the latest version of Shockwave, updated the driver from Logitech for my mouse (Logitech M525), tried both full screen and regular modes, restarted Firefox repeatedly. This drift is very annoying - I spend the majority of my time on FB - seems like the amount of drift varies from not at all to "damn it, I can't even place my mouse on an object without the screen moving".
I'm on Windows 7 with an Acer V5-671 laptop - help please!

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Problems with GeForce FX5200

    Hello guys,
I bought a MSI GeForce FX5200 TD-128 last year. It's working well, but I can't update its driver, that's why I'm using the driver that comes in the CD with the video card.
I bought Half-Life 2 yeasterday, and the game recommends me to update the video driver in order to have the best graphic quality, but when I install the most up to date driver, the image becomes the worst of all...
I've tried to update the DirectX aswell, but it didn't work...
Now I'm using the DirectX 9.0C
    Can someone help me??
    Thanks !!

So i recommend you to download this version: 61.77 those are very stable and you get a good image quality, becasue if you install the latest drivers you could see a very good image but for the sake of performance, and also you could try installing several drivers and check them and stay with the one that you liked most.  And remember also that each vid card it's unique! you can't compare them even if they are identical.
are doing overclocking? did you installed the chipset drivers before to reinstall the vid card drivers?
