Minor UI Bug: File Mail Link to This Page? Should be worded differently.

i.g. Mail Link of This Page, or Mail URL/Link on Current Page.
Wording is a bit confusing.

  • Plus "+" signs appear in subject when using "Mail Link to This Page" error

When I choose File > Mail Link to This Page in Safari for Windows (all recent/current versions), Safari opens a new Outlook email message window with a link to the web page I want to send in the content area of the message as it should, however the subject line contains plus sign "+" symbols between every word in the web page's title, as shown here:
    Subject: Apple-+Support+-+Discussions+-+Post+Message:+NewTopic
Any tips on how to make those distracting plus signs go away?
    Joe

Yeah, I've posted the same inquiry. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything back yet regarding this annoying issue w/ the "+" symbols showing up in the Subject line every time we mail a link.
Hopefully we'll get some type of assistance soon.
    Good luck!

  • Since I upgraded to 10.8 I can't find "mail link to this page" under file while in Safari?

Since I upgraded to 10.8 Mountain Lion I can't find "mail link to this page" when I click on file on the apple menu tool bar.

If you are using Mail in the composition window right hand side there is a button "Send Content As". Choose Link

When I attempt to email a link in Safari using "File" then "Mail Link to this Page", I can't.  I get a message saying "...Safari can't find an email application." even though I am using mail. Why?

I got it - no need to respond.  I went to Mail Prefs, General, Defalt Email Reader, and rechose Mail.  Problem solved!

  • Annoying window switch in Mail Using Safari's "Mail Link to This Page..."

Anyone else have the annoying problem where they use Safari's "Mail Link to This Page", and it opens a New Mail Composer Window, but then opens Mail's main window right over it, forcing you to switch back to the Composer window?
Only seems to happen when Mail has NOT been running. The main Mail window seems to be programmed to take centre stage when it's opened. Very annoying bug!!

I have Eudora as my default Mailer in Leopard and don't get that, jfyi.

  • Mail link to this page...question

When I select the "Mail link to this page" option in Safari, the Mail compose window opens but it opens behind the main Mail application. Does anyone know what I need to change to correct this please? Thanks

    William,
I noticed it when you pointed it out, but without your observation, would never have known that the difference exists, because I found the Mail feature without the Help documentation.
Some would call that a "Bug," but I just call it an error in documentation.
Perhaps Apple Feedback would be appropriate.
    ;~)

  • What happened to "Mail Link to This Page" in Safari 6.0 in Mountain Lion?

I just loaded Mountain Lion onto my MacBook Pro. When I went to use Safari (6.0), I noticed that I can no longer find "Mail Link to This Page" under File. How do i mail a link now?

Thanks for that, as I hadn't noticed the dropdown in the composition window. However, it also requires you to change the format of the message to Rich Text in order for the page to transmit properly. I'm a journalist, and I use plain text for all my messages (newspapers prefer this), so now I have to select File>Share>Email This Page, then choose Send Web Content As Web Page, then change Message Format to Rich Text, before I get the result I need.
In the previous OS I just chose "Send Contents of Web Page" or whatever the instruction was, and it was done.
I'm beginning to understand the true difference between the phrases "unnecessarily complicated" and "simply elegant".
    I appreciate your help, nevertheless.

Mail link to this page is not working

Have the same problem after computer wakes from sleep or log out. Requires system reboot.

  • "Mail link to this page" does not search within my exchange account

    Hello all,
When I try to e-mail a web page from within Safari using the "Mail link to this page", I only get to search for e-mail addresses in my MobileMe account. Backtracking by clicking the "back arrow" to see all groups and what I assumed would be a possibility to change to my Exchange account only results in an empty window.
if I open the mail program manually and just enter the recipient names there are no cross account search issues. However, this method requires a lot of copy/paste back and forth between Safari and the mail program and is definitely not considered ease of use in my eyes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to fix it? Or do I need to wait for a fix from Apple.

Have not seen this problem with more recent iOS releases. Particularly, the ability to cancel an Email and save it as a Draft would seem to render this moot. Thanks for the feature add.

  • Safari Quasi-Hung - Mail Link to this Page - Power Cycle Required

Hi! The other day, I was looking at a web page in Safari, hit the "+" icon and chose to "Mail Link to this Page". I chose the person I had in mind from my contact list, but realized that there were a couple others at the same firm that I should also copy. Not seeing a way to search on the company name at that point, I hit the Home button, went into Spotlight, searched for the company name, and found the other people.
Armed with the names of the others, I went back to Safari, but I was not returned to the point of addressing my message. Instead, I returned to a partially crippled Safari. (from memory now:) I could do the back and forward arrows, but there was no response to taps on "+", Bookmark, or Tabs. Thinking maybe I should be in Mail, I tried going there, but it also showed no sign of the pending message forwarding the link.
I found no way out of this other than a full power cycle of the phone.
    I have an iPhone 3GS 32Gig.

  • Safari suddenly stopped Mail Link to this Page in gmail

Up until last night safari would open my gmail composer when I hit Mail Link to this Page. I do not use Mail on this computer. It opens correctly on firefox but since the firefox upgrades my laptop runs too hot with it. The new safari was working fabulously until last night.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks'

    HI Connie,
MIght be some help here in GMail known issues.

A work around might be to Compose Mail and click the Link icon. It's in between Insert an Emoticon and and Numbered LIst icons. Just drag the link from the Safari Address Bar to the Compost window.

  • Gmail iPhone app & mailto links, "Mail Link to This Page", etc. / Send-only Mail app account

Is it possible to handle mailto links & the like (e.g., "Mail Link to This Page" option in Safari) with the Gmail iPhone app?
If not, I would like to setup a Mail account for the inbuilt Apple iPhone Mail app, but only use it for outgoing messages.  I do not want it to download messages, as the Gmail app will already be doing this.  How can I setup the iPhone Mail app as send-only?  (specifically for a Gmail account)
    Thanks.

Is this issue solved for you yet?
I still have the same problem.
Mail.app changes the configurations on my POP settings from "password" to "apop". Since I don't use "apop" I cannot receive mail. Further, after going through each mail account (about 20 of them) and changing them back to "password" and saving each account setting I attempted to receive mail again to no avail. So, I checked the account configurations again only to discover that mail.app will not save the account settings to "password" and is forcing the "apop" settings.

  • How to set Safari 5.1.7 to "mail link to this page" to Mail 5.2

I guess that covers my question. I like to share articles with friends.
    thanks,
    jody

Select 'Customize Toolbar' on the 'View' menu and Drag the 'Mail' icon to your Safari Toolbar.
Clicking the Mail icon opens Apple's Mail and bring up a blank email with the link of your open page in it.
I am not sure if this can be adapted for other email clients.

  • Mail link to this page

I have a iWeb site, when I want to pass on to someone else via email automatically opens my .mac email, well it did until today now nothing much works due to the change over. How do I change the default address to a Yahoo address to pass on my iWeb site by email.
    Mike

    Hi. I had that problem too and this is what fixed it;
Go to "Safari" choose "reset Safari". that wipes everything. I
had him leave my cookies because I have a lot of accounts.
Next go to Mail/Preferences/General and choose a random
program as "default mail reader". Close Mail. Open Mail, then
go to Preferences/General and choose "Mail" as default mail
    reader". Restart. Good luck.

  • "Mail Link to This Page" from Safari Opens Message Behind Mail's Window

When I use this function in Safari, sometimes the new message window opens up and then immediately disappears behind the main Mail windows. Sometimes it doesn't. I can't discern a pattern.
    Any ideas?

    Was a MailTags plugin issue.
