Minutes Online Bug?

So I don't think I want this fixed, because it makes me look good, but according to my profile I've been online for 7591668 minutes. As impressive as this might seem, I can honestly say I have not been online 24/7 for over 14 years. Does anyone else have incorrect minutes online for their profile?

I doubt I've ever been logged into ni.com from more than one device very often. But I will have multiple tabs open throughout the day. There are a few community pages I keep open as a reminder to look into something. Each day when I shutdown my computer it remembers those tabs and opens them up again the next time I open my browser. So I may have 4-8 tabs at one time at ni.com. (this is tab number 7 right now).

JDeveloper hogs CPU for minutes. Bug?

I stumbled on what looks like a bug in JDeveloper.
Try this:
- Make a new empty Java source file in JDeveloper
- insert the following code:

- Insert a new line below the one that starts with "C listener" and type a few characters
- Watch JDeveloper slow to a halt. Windows Task Manager shows JDeveloper using 100% CPU. It took several minutes until JDeveloper became responsive again.
I have a 2 GHz P4 with 1 GB of RAM, about 2/3 of which is unused; JDeveloper uses about 180 MB. My operating system is Win2K.
I noticed that during the lock-up, Task Manager reports a high number of page faults per second, which seems to indicate that JDeveloper is creating lots of objects but has hit the Java memory limit, so stuff gets swapped out to disk.

That's strange because on this machine I can reproduce it consistently. I also had my coworkers try it, with the same result.
When I run it from the DOS box, it doesn't give me any output except for the copyright message the Jalopy plugin produces when JDeveloper starts. Maybe I should remove the plugin and see if that changes anything.
I'm using JDeveloper 9.0.3.1035, btw.

Losing connection after being 30 minutes online

Hey all,
My first post here, and it's a problem , hope that you can help me.
I'm having a bit of trouble with my graphite basestation, when i'm trying to connect it to my ibook g3 it works, but when i'm on it for about 30 minutes the airport connection is lost. I tried to reset the base station and check the antenna but the problem remains, after 30 minutes it switches off.
Does anyone know of this problem?

Sharepoint Online Bug: Document Set does not synchronize empty fields

If in the properties of document set the general field is empty, it will not be synchronized with internal files that has this general field. Ie, all files can have own values for the general field. If the value in document set (in properties) is not empty,
the synchronization works fine. This issue was tested in different sites from different account in Office365.
How to reproduce the problem:
1. In Document Set (DocSet1) I have general field (Field1).
2. When I create DocSet1 item in the list, Field1 is empty.
3. In DocSet1 I create file Doc1, also with Field1.
4. Field1 in Doc1 and DocSet1 has to be synchronized (because it's general).
5. When I change Doc1 file, put some text (Text1) for Field1,
the value remains as
Text1, but in that time Field1 in DocSet1 is empty.
6. Field1 wasn't synchronized, it has different values in DocSet1 properties and in internal file Doc1.
7. I go to DocSet1 and change Field1 to Text2, now the field is synchronized
8. Field1 in DocSet1 and Doc1 is Text2.

According to your description, my understanding is that the updated Shared Column of document item cannot synchronize with the Shared Column of the Document Set which is empty value.
For reproduce your issue, I added two Shared Columns “Description” and “E-Mail” into my Document Set Content Type and added it to a document library . Then I created a new Document Set and left
its two Shared Columns “Description” and “E-Mail” empty. When I created a document item in the new document set and set values to the two Share Columns, the Description column was still empty but the “E-Mail” column was updated with
new value.
By default, if the Shared Column of your Document Set is empty, the Shared Column of the items in the document set should be empty and cannot be updated.
For a good practice, I recommend that you can set the value of Shared Columns in your document set once your document set is created . For a workaround, you can hide Shared Column in the Edit

WRT610N UPnP Media Server failing after minutes online

Hi,
I have a WRT610N and I'm having issues with the media server. I have upgraded to the latest firmware and setup sharing and UPnP etc. When I initially plug in my USB hard drive (1TB Seagate Freeagent) it is discoverable by devices on my network (Xbox 306 & Linksys Kiss1600) and I can browse shared media it has indexed. This only lasts for less than 5 mintues, then the WRT610N dissappears from both devices (Xbox & K1600) and I can no longer use the media server.
Disk sharing still works OK, it's only the media server that fails.
Any help would be really appreciated as I'm about to launch it out the window.

Are your devices connected to the media server via a cabled or wireless connection ?
If its wireless - then i suspect you have a faulty WRT610, the wireless chipsets inside the WRT610N are well known for overheating and dropping all connections.
Should be pretty stable using a cabled connection though.

500 minutes world planminutes status not avaiable online

I subscribed 500 minutes world plan last month. Verizon said I will be able to check my minutes online. However, when I go to world plan Manage page there are no minutes. I have called customer service and have spent several hours but they couldn't solve my problem. I have received an email that says that Verizon is working on my problem. Does anybody who has 500 minutes world plan experienced the same problem, if yes, how did you fix the problem?

The difference in your usage is more than likely because the international minutes you used on the start of your next billing cycle (August) were added to end of the previous billing cycle (July). Unfortunately that is the way VZ works, and it is wrong as far as I'm concerned. You should make a complaint about it. The international minutes should coincide with the billing cycle. The way VZ does it causes you to pay more for your minutes because it can cause you to go over the 500 minutes that are part of the plan.
Speaking to a representative will not help. I've tried and have gotten nowhere. This is an unpublished policy that should be stopped.

Bug Database for Sun ONE Studio 8

Is there an online bug database for the Sun ONE Studio 8 Compiler Collection, like there is for all of the Java related tools? I know we have product support, but I don't want to go through the overhead of 4 or 5 layers of people to report a minor problem I have found.
The minor problem is that the er_src utility will open files in the current working directory in preference to an absolute pathname specified on the command line. I used it from my home directory, giving it an executable name and source file name each about 5 levels deep in directories below my home -- with absolute paths. I was shocked to see the source from a six year old version of the file in the output. The 'truss' utility revealed that the source was being opened from my current directory -- ignoring the absolute path. This version of the file is one I have kept for reference, being the initial port of the program from a different language.
It appears that er_src attempts the unqualified file name first, then the absolute path if it fails to find the unqualified name.

The er_src man page does say the .er.rc files are processed, which implies that the setpath/addpath handling is done, at least to me. So the behavior reported is what I would have expected, but the manpage could, and should be more explicit.
The er_print man page is more specific, and does say that the compiled-in path is used only if the file is not found searching the current path mappings, which do contain "."
Can you tell me exactly what you'd like us to do? We did it this way because users complained about using the compiled in path, rather than finding the file in . or the experiments, where we explicitly tell people to copy files for archival purposes.
If you want us to change the behavior, please tell us EXACTLY what the desired behavior is. We could define a special symbol, like $EXPTS, to refer to the compiled-in path, $COMPPATH, perhaps, and then it could be put before or after . or $EXPTS.
Another issue is which name to use when. er_src has two referents for a path, one for "object", the thing whose source is being dumped, and a second for "item", specifying which item contained in the object should be dumped. For item, I believe we always only use the
base name, even if an absolute name is given. It is used to match against the names contained in object's symbol tables. All of this is complicated by NFS -- the present functionality is intended to behave gracefully when a file is examined on a machine other than the one on which
it was compiled.

Bugs on Yosemite

after installing the new OS X Yosemite, i've found some bug when open appstore the screen turn like that
but on the other apps didn't have problem like that. Hope Apple fastly solve this problem.

Online tech support says they cant help me?????

Hello I would like to ask if customer tech support from HP cant help me with my questions because they say they dont support ssd problems tho Big Dave recommended me to get one..... I asked in different thread about installing a SSD to my system. Big Dave recommended the Samsung Evo.
I purchased it. Did a OS migrate using the software it came with. But before doing anything I backed My Hdd to a external hdd. I purchased the Samsung evo 1tb. Got it installed its software works awesome"migration" and "magician". Reformated my old OEM 3tb hdd . setup my ssd to the sata 3 port and moved my hdd to sata 1 and my dvd is still at sata 2. After all done never seen such speed in starting apps or booting. EXCEPT FOR ONE thing.. When i finished with everything and everything looked all is well. BUT EVERY TIME i restarted it i got this:
the recovery mode. This was repeated a few hundred times. From researching i found that there was some way to change the boot menu and bios. So i called HP Tech Support the help me. ????
They didnt have a clue??? After a few hundred reboots only to see this: They HP tech support did there remote connection to my pc and did there check this and check that only after 90 minutes online with them to tell me there sorry they dont support ssd installation problems to contact samsung. REALLY???
So with no help from HP i troubleshooted my self and after hours of trial and error found that I could change the boot menu and bios to make it work. Meaning I could restart or shut down and start without it booting to the recovery mode.
I will post the pics to show my orginal setup in the boot menu and bios and after i changed it. FYI. it reconized both drives. The os migration went without a problem. Everything that was on my OEM HDD was on my SDD, The problem was it would not boot from the ssd unless I always pressed f6 and told it to boot from it. other wise i got the screen above.
Here is my system setup before: as you can see it sees the ssd. It also sees both drives. : and and here is what i changed it to:
and i moved the legacy boot sources with the sata 3 above the sata 1. because I have the SSD hooked into the sata 3 port on the mother board and the oem hdd i moved to the sata 1 port with the dvd still plugged into the sata 2 port.
NOW IT BOOTS UP IN 32 SECONDS from restart and 61 SECONDS from complete shut down.
My Question is two fold to this forum. Will this settup hurt my system in anyway that I am not aware of??????
Will it still boot from disks or thumb if needed??
And if everything is Honky Dorey and A OK with this setup . Then why couldnt I get the help from HP on the phone to resolve this rediculously simple change to my system setup and bios to get this to boot correctly????

Hi Tony,
Did you download the latest Samsung migration software before your started the migration?
You should be able to use the Windows Boot Manager to boot by default off the SSD if your "cloning" procedure worked correctly. However, you don't want to have the original HD connected since it will also have an EFI partition on it and then you might end up with multiple Windows Boot Managers which would be confusing.
You should use Disk Management to determine that you have in fact cleaned off all of the partitions from the original HD.

Skip forward on active recording bug is back!

You remember? The one where you go to skip forward on an internet channel recording and instead it throws you back to much earlier in the recording? Well it is back. Just had it while chase playing the Chelsea v Everton match on BT Sport 1 and went to skip over the half-time punditry.
You have to wonder if whatever they did to fix the two minute recording bug has broken this again.

It was never fixed as far as I am concerned. I have always had it, whenever you get to within 10 or 15 minutes of the live the first time you hit ff it jumps back 10 minutes.

Can I Use Skype Free Minutes From a Mobile Phone

Can you use Skype free minutes (provided with Office365) to call FROM a mobile phone? When I check the free minutes online, I see that they are active on my Skype account, but my Android mobile app does not show any Skype credit?

If your iPad Mini is a cellular model, you can use Skype (and buy a block of minutes). If only wireless, you can also use Skype on a wireless connection. It saved the day when I forgot my iPhone and needed to make a call. Skype sells phone numbers, but I've never gone that route.

Paying for prepaid minutes.

I typically love my prepaid phone. Its nice to not be locked into a contract, pay when you want, etc. These past couple of weeks, I've been burning through a lot of minutes talking to my mom (a whole conversation = 15$ and all my minutes gone. You get the picture haha). I went to pay today after another lengthy convo which ate up all my minutes, and I'm told I've exceeded my "monthly payments" and they are "sorry I'm having difficulties"... Then click. So, for once in my life I'm actually seeing a phone company NOT want to rob you of your money!
I figured I exceeded it for "over the phone minute adding" and came on here to pay. Went to add money, get a response saying they were unable to add minutes, and to contact customer service, which I cannot call because for some reason you get charged to talk to your own phone companys customer service.
Kinda ticked off about this, because what am I supposed to do, wait a couple weeks until I can pay?
Anyone have any ideas?

All you have to do is go into any store supermarket or drug store and buy a prepay verizon card, its the one with the pictures on it. i don't know why customer service didn't explain that. If your mom has a verizon cell you can call each other all you want for 99 cents per day if you have the 99 cent plan. If you don't have a plan right now than your being charged 25 cents per minute. You should also beable to add minutes online but you would need a credit card for that. Here is the toll free number to call from a landline 1-888-284-6804 also you can have alerts put on the phone to let you know when your balance falls below a certain amount such as $5.00
You said customer service said you exceed your monthly mayments. According to the information booklet it says Minimun payment is $15.00; maximum payment is $250.00. You may replenish up to ten times or $600.00 in a rolling 30 day period.

Preloading Chapter titles in a large online Quicktime file

I'm trying to use Chapters to provide a nice interface for users to access a long (18-minute) online Quicktime movie; I've suceeded except for the fact that the chapter titles don't preload, i.e. they only load once the relevant section of the movie is reached. So you can't see what, say, Chapter 9 is called, until the movie's almost all loaded, which, with a 70 meg file, takes awhile. The chapter headings are just blank in the interface, kinda dumb lookin'.

I've been playing around in Quicktime 7 with the positioning of the "Text" layer that contains the chapter names, with no success. Any other hints on how to get this to work? It was created with COmpressor from the latest Final Cut Studio.

Sorry, no help; just commiseration. All my audiobooks are just listed as "Part 1 of 12", even though I've typed the chapter title into every field iTunes has to offer -- none seem to work. I'll watch this thread in case anyone can offer an answer though.
