If you are going to be deploying these settings via Group Policy you can change the settings here:
locate and edit the GPO that you clients inherit there
policy from
Setting Desktop wallpaper:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Display
Then "Desktop Wallpaper" if you enable this you can set a UNC path that you have the wallpaper stored.
Prevent Desktop background being changed:
User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
Enable "Prevent changing desktop background"
Set Theme:
User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
Enable "Load a specific Theme" and point to a theme File
Prevent users changing Theme:
If you would like to make it so your users cannot change the theme:
User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
Enable -"prevent
Changing Theme"

Questions in regards to server 2012R2 Remote desktop Service deployment and GPO

We have a business requirement moving to 2012R2 RDSH server. I have installed a 2012R2 member servers and enabled Remote desktop licensing role. I have activated the licenses. the servers is in operational
I have deployed 3 windows 2012R2 member server "RDS1" , "RDS2" and "RDS3".
on RDS1 I ran Add roles and Feature Wizard > Remote Desktop Services installation > Quick Start >Session based desktop deployment to complete the installation.
On RDS1 Server Manage Dashboard Page Select Remote Desktop Services > Overview. Under RD Licensing I added my 2012R2 license server "2012r2-tslic". Go to task. Edit deployment properties RD license mode to per device and click OK.
Reboot RDS1
Check RD Licensing Diagnoser everything is clear
On RDS2 I did the exact same thing ran Add roles and Feature Wizard > Remote Desktop Services installation > Quick Start >Session based desktop deployment to complete the installation.
But With RDS2 I move this server to an OU that link to a GPO with RD licensing details. after reboot the servers check RD Licensing Diagnoser I can see 2012r2-tslic specified as the license servers.

Here are my questions
We currently have ten 2008r2 terminal servers in a NLB cluster. each RDSH server have in house application installed on each one of them. User connect to the 2008R2 RDSH servers via RDP connection. we have a restricted GPO apply to those
RDSH servers. user cannot do anything on RDSH servers apart from running the application and use excel. On the remote desktop session host configuration we have enable settings like end a disconnected session , Active session limit ,
remote control users session , LPT port redirection.
We push out RD license server detail via GPO to the terminal servers
Can I use our existing GPO apply the licensing server settings , desktop restriction setting to the 2012R2 RDHS servers or we should be using Remote desktop Service deployment to do the job ? If that is the case how would you transfer the
current 2008r2 environment to 2012 using Remote desktop Service deployment. is that mean I have to manually configure 1 by 1.

Please see my response to you in the other thread. Please contact me via email and I will go over the basic planning and deployment steps with you which will help clear things up and get you started off on the right foot.
You should only run through the wizard and create a RDS deployment once. Then you add the various servers (RDSH, RD Licensing, RD Gateway, etc), set Deployment properties, etc.

Printers deployed via GPO not deploying

Hi
I have deployed printers via a GPO and mostly all printers have deployed correctly with the exception of a few. The printers that do not deploy to client workstations have different permission than the ones that do deploy correctly. If I add the everyone
group the print permission then the printers do appear, but we do not want everyone to have print permission we just want a few members of staff to be able to print.
Does anyone know if the everyone group has to have print permission for the printers to appear when deployed through a GPO?

That is probably the best way to connect multiple sites without having to connect each one with a T1, etc. Our MPLS vendor has an SLA on latency with 50ms or less guaranteed. With voice you want to make sure the latency is definitely less than 150ms. For ease of management we're using a router at each remote site with SRST capabilities so that all of the configuration remains at the main HQ callmanager, but if the connection ever goes down, the remote site phones will still be able to call each other (not main office until connection is restored) Alternatively you can put a router at each site with CallManager Express, you will just have to manage each site separately. Hope that helps a little.

This is what i'm thinking , extending L2 VLANs across WAN with LAN-like latency. But i want to know what are these values (delay, bandwith) between sites so i don't have problems with the HA?. The customer wants to implement HA with one server in one DC and one server in DC(the solution involves NAM HA , NAS HA and Profiler HA) with L2 connection between them over WAN.

IPad in-house Application deployment over wireless

I know 4.2 will make it easier to deploy apps over a wireless connection.
I know it is currently possible to deploy iPad apps wirelessly because 3rd parties offer this service to Enterprise users.
I've found some great information about how this is "possible" but nothing on how to actually do it.
Does anyone know where I can start looking to research how to do this?

The areas under developer.apple.com do not support issues pertaining to Enterprise deployment.

Personalization Deploy via GPO

I created a personalized GPO installation packet for Acrobat reader 9, using the CustWiz90_en_US.exe sw.
I checked to accept the contract conditions automatically but after the deploy I always get the Accept button the first time I open Acrobat.
Do u maybe know the reason?

CCM and SRST deployment over several countries

Hello,
I will have to deploy Cisco ToIP over several countries. The infrastructure is a CCM cluster (1 publisher and 2 subscribers 7845) based in one country (Core System)and the other countries will be connected via SRST.
Do you know if it exist a Best Pratice Document within Cisco?

since you'll be using the routers at the other countries as SRST routers, it would probably be best as well, and a best practice, to use the routers as Call Manager Express solutions.
either way can support h323, sccp, rtp, PRI/BRI, etc. as well as provide more/easier flexibility with the dial plan. (more flexability may require more complexity though)

Printers Deployment via GPO

Hi everybody,
please let me crarify first my network configuration and proceed to my question.
We have a domain.
Domain controller is windows server 2003 standard edition, with it' schema upgrade to the schema of windows server 2008 R2, via the adprep32.exe procedure.
Print server is a windows server 2008 R2, joined to the above domain. I've used the group policy management in this server to create gpo's for printer deployment.
I've created a gpo in each organizational unit from this server according to this article http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/windows-2003/Deploying-Printers-Group-Policy-Windows-R2.html
Because in every OU i have both pc's that running XP and Windows 7, I've used the pushprintersconnections.exe as a startup script(per machine).
After that i used the print management console in the windows 2008 server in order to deploy the printers. Let me say here that, before using the console to link each printer to a gpo, I 've installed the printers to the windows 2008 server by adding a new
printer and giving it's printer's IP. The server found the printer in the network and installed everyone by adding the driver for each.Did the driver installed only the windows server 2008 x64 driver for the printers? what if I want to deply these printers
to xp clients? What about the drivers?
After making each GPO Enforced I ONLY saw the correct printers ONLY TO xp clients and with the sign "Unable to Connect" next to them, to each XP client! None of the windows 7 clients got the printers, although the get some other policies, just
fine?
Can someone help me?Any question, I will answer immediatelly!

Flash Player deploy by GPO - not working

I've been attempting to get Flash Player 10 (distributable verision, install_flash_player_10_active_x.msi) to deploy accross our network - three sites, around 100 computers total.
I've assigned it to Group Policy, the client machines pull it down and install successfully (it even shows up in Add/Remove programmes).
However it doesn't work. Whenever any user goes to a flash-based website they get a message telling them to download and install flash.
Has anyone else experienced this?
All our clients are running Win XP and IE8

In case this might help someone else - I've now given up with installing flash via GPO, and decided to try
to install via a vbscript computer start up script that I knocked together this morning. In case it might help someone else, copy is included below:
Basically - put msizap.exe from windows installer sdk + the adodb flash uninstaller/msi file in the directory (strNetworkPath)
Script then does the following:
1) Calls adobe's uninstaller exe in silent mode to clean up what adobe can - then what it leaves behind we do ourselves:
2) removes c:\windows\temp\installax.exe if it exists
3) searches for and deletes from registry any Managed applications references containing (Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX) - in our case, i've already told GPO's to remove flash player - so it's erroring on uninstall at the moment)
4) Search for any installed msi applications called 'adobe flash player 10 activex' and runs MSIZAP on them ( seems adobe uninstaller doesn't completely remove the local msi references ;/)
5) copies MSI down frmo network to windows temp
6) msiexec /qb msi
7) delete the msi file

Can anyone tell me which ports should I make public in order to do so? Is only 7779 necessary?
