  • MIRO price variance at document level

    Hi all,
Normally the MIRO price variance PP will be applicable for this company code and item level of the purchase order.
it is possible to control the PP Document no level instead of po item level?..
    any possiblities in standard..

    Hi Palanisamy,
As far as I know this is the only way the system works because we all know that each line item has its own quantity, material type, net price, conditions... If the system process the price differences at header level, how does it know how to allocate the whole amount of difference to what stock account, and should be based on what criterion?
So, in short, I think that the way the system works at the moments is totally reasonable.

  • Price Variance - MIRO

    Experts,
We created a PO for one single item for a particular quanity and a particular amt. However, when we received the IR, the amount on the invoice is different than the amount on PO - What are the ways to handle these exceptions. Basically, I am looking for a configuration saying anything under the price variance of 300 USD is ok, but for anything above, an approval is needed.
All answers/inputs/thoughts would be duly appreciated and rewarded with points.
    Thanks,

  • Price Variance (PP) - MIRO

    Hi Guys,
Can you please explain how the PP tolerance in MIRO works with an example and about absolate, Min tolerance and Max Tolerance Limits?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Laxmi.

    Hi
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/47/60fa3d49f011d1894c0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Suppose if PO price is $100 then system should allow up to $105 with out blocking means with percentage of 5%. If it exceeds 5% system should block the invoice.
    Maintain the configure in
SPRO-> IMG-> MM -> Purchasing-> Purchase Order-> Set Tolerance Limits for Price Variance
Here you can maintain the tolerance limits for key PE: Price variance: purchasing
    Then,Invoice will be blocked 'R'
Invoice is blocked, all the items are blocked. Even if the invoice only displays variances in one item, the whole invoice is blocked for payment.
If you post an invoice with a blocking reason, the system carries out two steps:
The account postings resulting from the invoice are made.
In the vendor item, the system enters an 'R' in the field Payment block so that Financial Accounting cannot make payment for the invoice.
Go to TCode OMR6 (Invoice Block under the LIV section of the IMG) and drill into the CoCd and the Tolerance Key PP. Activate the lower limit check by selecting teh Check Limit button and put in a Value, a Percentage, or both. Save it and that should give you what you're looking for.
    Tolerance Conditions T.Code:OMR6
    Tolerance Limit
BD Form small differences automatically 100 UPPER
BR Percentage OPUn variance (IR before GR) 5% UPPER AND LOWER
BW Percentage OPUn variance (GR before IR) 1% UPPER AND LOWER
DQ Exceed amount: quantity variance 0 UPPER (NO TOLERANCE)
DW Quantity variance when GR qty = zero 0 UPPER (NO TOLERANCE)
KW Var. from condition value NO CHECK
PP Price variance 5% UPPER AND LOWER
PS Price variance: estimated price 5% UPPER AND LOWER
ST Date variance (value x days) NO CHECK
VP Moving average price variance NO CHECK

  • Asset PO Price Variance posting w/out asset account assignmt to wrong acct

We're bringing up fixed assets and are struggling with the account assignment behind PO Invoice receipt (MIRO) and price differences.  At the moment, the PO is A account assigned and has the standard SAP settings except that the GR is valuated and the account assignment indicator is single instead of multiple.  When we process MIRO, if there's a price difference, it hits the table 30 account assignment for the DIF trxn key.
    We have 2 issues.
    1.  The account behind DIF is used for normal merchandise purchasing which isn't account assigned and doesn't reflect the GL account for the asset class.
    2.  The asset number is not being passed to the price variance posting (this could be a result of the GL account config since our normal merchandise purchasing doesn't carry a WBS).
We have an additional wrinkle in that we do a shadow posting to a WBS element as well as the asset number in MIRO.  It seems to work fine so long as we don't have a price variance.
From reading documentation, it appears the price variance should be posting to the asset so we appear to have mis-configured something.  I'm hoping it's not the valuated GR as we have a business requirement to show the value of the item when we receive it.  In any case, we can't figure out what we're missing.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for your time and help.

  • Purchase price variance line item - not to be posted in Parallel currency

    Hi All,
    Scenario:
    Transaction currency - SGD
    Local Currency - INR
    Parallel Currency 1 (LC2) - Group currency - USD
Parallel Currency 2 (LC3) - Global Company currency - INR
Import PO - MIGO - MIRO
PO is raised in foreign currency.
Material master price control is maintained in 'S'.
While doing MIGO, I am getting following accounting entries:
    Stock a/c Dr.
    GR/IR a/c Cr.
    Price variance* a/c Dr.
*The price varaince is because of difference in my material price as per material master and PO.
If I go and check in FBL3N, I can see all the line items in Transaction, Local currency and 2 Parallel currencies.
My query is, In SAP is it possible to avoid Price variance line item posting to Parallel currencies.
To my knowledge I know that it is not possible to avoid a single line to post it to Parallel currencies.
    Thanks in advance.

This is the answer from OSS
    Dear Customer,
    the system works as designed.
When Material Ledger is activated, price differences are always
generated under the circumstances you have described. The reason is
that when material ledger is activated, price differences must not be
included into the stock changes value, otherwise the system would
not be able to calculate an actual price.
When Material Ledger is activated, the customizing setting
for handling price differences in the subcontracting process has no
    effect.

  • While posting MIRO price difference account is not determimg for price vari

    Hi Sapients,
Please solve the production issue which we have faced yesterday while doing month end closing
In one P.O 4 items are there,User has posted entries in below sequence
    Material type is TRADING GOODS
    1)first MIRO with QTY 10 @100$ each,Later
    2)MIGO has done with QTY 10 @100$
    Raw Material account -
    1000$
    to GR/IR CLEARING ACCOUNT -
    1000$
2)User has reverse the MIRO transaction with QTY 10 @ 100$ each.(with refer to step1)
3)Finally he post MIRO with QTY 10 @ 90$ each, so here ther is no qty variance has come only price variance has come, so when posting the difference is not going to price difference and the entry is paasing like this
    GR/IR CLEARING ACCOUNT -
    900$
    TO Vendor 900$
If u see in step 2 GR/IR having 1000$, but in step 3 while MIRO posting GR/IR as 900$ so for the remaing balance 100$ not going to price variance .I Belive the entry in step will be like this
    GR/IR CLEARING ACCOUNT -
    1000$
    TO Vendor 900$
    TO Price difference 100$.
Kindly give solution why it is not going to price difference it was happening only for item 2 & 3 only for 40 iem it is posting correctly to price difference account. Please advice me why system behavig differently for each item.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Padmasri,
Thanks for your explanation. Ok. if the price is maintained in S, does that mean the price difference would get posted only to PRD. In other words, if price indicator is V, is that the only time when the price difference gets posted to stock account. In case if there is no sufficient stock or if there is negative stock at that time, that's when the amount would get posted to stock loss or gain account. Please suggest if I've understood the concept right.
    Hi,
The PRD will trigger when the standard price maintained in the material mater record is different from the price in MIGO . The other chance is the material is maintained with MAP and MIRO done before GR ,The value of the quntity (not available in stock )
will get posted to PRD. I hope this will resolve your issue. Thanking you
You had suggested: The other chance is the material is maintained with MAP and MIRO done before GR ,The value of the quntity (not available in stock ) will get posted to PRD. I hope this will resolve your issue.
You are right: I forgot to mention that the price indicator is V. The other point is we purchase the materials from an internal vendor, as and when the materials are dispatched from the main storehouse in Sri Lanka, there is an advice that is created in the system and that is interfaced and parked in the system. However, normally until the GR is done IV will not happen. But there could be a chance, as the advice gets created within 24 hours. However the material to reach the godown in our warehouse will take more than 24 hours as the goods have to be shipped from SL, so IV is possible before GR.

  • Variance Journal Appear in Reversal Goods Receipt of CO Production Order

    Good afternoon
Currently we face a problem that variance journal appear when doing Reversal Goods Receipt (MBST) of CO Production Order.
But the variance journal appear after we reverse goods receipt for the second time, third time, and so on.
No problem for the first time cancellation.
    Here is the example:
Step 1. We do the Goods Receipt on CO Production Order #1
    Journal
         Inventory (Db)                       36000
              COGM Allocation (Cr)                  36000
Step 2. We do the Goods Receipt Reversal on CO Production Order #1 (with reference to Step 1)
    Journal
         COGM Allocation (Db)          36000
              Inventory (Cr)                               36000
Step 3. We do the Goods Receipt again on CO Production Order #1
    Journal
         Inventory (Db)                      36000
              COGM Allocation (Cr)                  36000
Step 4 (Problem). We do the Goods Receipt Reversal again on CO Production Order #1 (with reference to Step 3)
    Journal
              Inventory (Cr)                                   36000
         COGM Allocation (Db)         54000
              Purchase Price Variant (Cr)              18000
Why Variance appear in Step 4 ? Is there any mistake ?
    Note:
*We use Price Control "V" for this material
    *No Goods Issue were made
    *No Settlement Process were made
*Only this 4 transaction for this CO Production Order

  • Moving average price variance in Invoice verification

    Hello,
I set in sys that the moving average of price variance will be check in tolerance of x% (lower & upper limit) BUT the system ignore it , when I save an Invoice (MIRO) with price that change the moving average price for more than X% the invoice was saved with no W/E massage . I set all massages that seams to be relevant with E but nothing was happened .
What is the way to set the system that in Invoice verification stage it will check the moving average price variance and give an alert or will not let the invoice to be post ???
    Best Regards
    Idit

    Hi,
You can block Invoices using transaction code OMC0
    (a) Use Tolerancy Key VP for your company code
    (b) Fill-up Lower and Upper check tolerance limit %
When a stock posting line is created as a result of an invoice item, the system calculates the new moving average price that results from the posting. It compares the percentage variance of the new moving average price to the old price using the percentage tolerance limits defined.

  • Configure GRIR account and Purchase Price variance

    Hi,
Please explain steps involved in GRIR configuration and Purchase Price Variance
Thanks for help. Points will be given

You need to set up the automatic postings:
IMG \ Materials Management \ Valuation and Account Assignment \ Account determination \ Account determination w/o wizard \ Configure Automatic postings
In particular you need to ensure there are settings for the Transaction Event Keys PRD (price differences) and WRX (GR/IR).  Drill through and set per:
Valuation Grouping Code (these are set per Valuation Area which is normally Plant level and you can see the settings one step back in config.), General Modifier (if applicable) and for all possible Valuation Classes.
This link is very good,  read the top bit for an overview then go to Transaction Event Keys (about half way down) for further info. on these.

  • Invoice Block due to price variance

    Dear Friends,
In invoice verification I have configured invoice block for price variance (PP).
I have mentioned upper limit as 5%.
    PO---100
    GRN---100
    Invoice---120
I have made this as warning message. I want this should not be open for payment before releasing in MRBR. After posting the document in MIRO it shows that invoice is blocked for payment. The payment bock indicator in payment tab in MIRO shows as "R"--Invoice verificatin.
But system allows this document for payment to be done both in f-58 & f-53.
So please tell me how to stop payment to be done before releasing it in MRBR.

    Hi
I think you may be missing some settings in FI, thats the reason it is allowing to pay the invoice whcih are blocked for payment.

  • Set Tolerance Limits for Price Variance when PO-based Purch.Requisition

We must garanty that Price from Purch.Requisition will be the same at PO.
IF some variance occur a error messag must be sent to user and PO could not be saved.
I found at customzing under SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Purch.requisition > Set Tolerance Limits for Price Variance .
Reading the help of customizing it mean the system consists what we need..
I have created tolerance limit NB, and set limits for all checks as 0,01.
When I will activate messages as recommended on help no messages 601 and 602 have the text that guide us to correctly setting.
The help mention that after create tolerance limit we must set this tolerance by document type..but I didn’t find this field at customzing
Does anyone can help me ?
See the help on customizing below…
Set Tolerance Limits for Price Variance
In this step, you can define percentage-based and value-based (absolute) tolerance limits for price variances between purchase orders and purchase requisitions. Variance types are mapped out in the SAP system by tolerance keys.
You define the tolerance limits for each tolerance key and assign your tolerance key to the document types for purchase requisitions. The tolerance limit then applies for all documents of this document type.
When processing a purchase order, the system checks whether the unit price of a purchase order item differs from the unit price of a purchase requisition item. If you have configured, activated and defined tolerance limits in document types, variances are permitted in the tolerance limits. If the variance exceeds the tolerance limit, the system issues a warning. If you have defined a percentage-based and a value-based absolute tolerance limit, the strictest of the two variances will apply for this check.
    Note
You can determine whether the system messages (601 and 602) appear as warnings or error messages in step "Define Attributes of System Messages".
To do this, go to the Materials Management IMG and choose Purchasing -> Environment Data -> Define Attributes of System Messages.
    Requirements
The tolerance key must be defined in step Define Tolerance Key.
    Activities
    1. Define tolerance limits for each tolerance key.
    2. Define the tolerance key in step Define Document Types.
    Thx  and best regards,
    Ale

  • Error 06206: Effective price lower than material price (variance 30.00 %)

    Hello Experts,
I've maintained the tolerance limit as 30% for my company code and tolerance key 'PE'.
Even though I try to create a Purchase Order with the same effective price as the material price (no variance), still it gives me the following error:
"Effective price lower than material price (variance > 30.00 %) Message no. 06206"
However, I get this error only for Import vendors and not for Domestic vendors.
I'm using same currency (INR) in Purchase Order for Import vendor as for Domestic vendor.
I've debugged the code to find where exactly and why it throws that error but have been unsuccessful. When I reach METHOD pbo_finished, deep structure my_pushed_message already has the error message ID 06 and number 206 stored in it.
    Seeking Experts' help!

since you are getting effective price lower than material price, your PO appears to be at a lower value. This may be since the total is not carried to the appropriate field. pl check whether Subtotal column is having S entry
if its an error, in attributes of system messages change to warning
