Miroslav Philarmonik Intel Mac Install

I've downloaded the update, installed, all looked fine. But when I try to load anything it says that the instrument could not be found on my Mac.
It is there, I can see them and when I look at the preferences Miroslav is looking in the right place. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey Lo,
have you repair the permissions after the install?
give it a try.
Reboot from the system DVD to do it.

Jorge

  • Intel Mac Install Problems

Is anyone else out there running a new Intel Mac with 10.4.8?
The problem comes when I go to install CF MX 7.2. I tried all the
configurations possible for developer (stand alone, with JRun, on
top of J2EE) and it just won't install right. It gets to the part
where it says 'it installed okay first part, but to finish the
install check firewall ports, etc. and make sure CF is running.'
Anyway, I can never get CF to run. It tries to, and can't. The
annoying part is I have to manually uninstall the crap too each
time, as the 'uninstaller' gets so far and asks me for my admin
password (not the CF admin password, RDS password, but the actual
admin pass for my account). I enter it and it keeps telling me it
is wrong. So you can't unistall with the unistaller. Funny thing
though is when I go to just trash the whole app manually the system
asks for my admin pass and it takes it just fine.
So, my main question is: Has anyone gotten CF MX 7.2 to
successfully install and run on an Intel Mac? Or will it only work
on an older PowerPC? (All my other Macromedia/Adobe stuff is
running just fine since I upgraded from the PowerPC. It was a
little slow at first, but I threw a bunch of ram at it. I cannot
get CF to install at all though...)
Anyone with advice or insight please respond...
    Thanks.

You run Windows in Parallels or Fusion. Then in Windows you install the program.

  • How to install OS X Server on Intel MAC

    Hello,
I have early copy of Tiger OS X Server and I would like to install it on my Intel Mac. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Vladik

Some have said that Apple has maintained that 10.4(.7) Server UB is a separate product with no upgrade/replacement policy.
However, I fully expect that Apple handles this on a by-case basis. If you've purchased Enterprise support and/or the Server maintenance package, then it's probably a different matter.
The most important thing is, as a customer, take this up with Apple.
Nothing said here will have much bearing on that - necessary - conversation.

  • 10.4.7 PPC Update installed instead of Intel one on my Intel Mac

I used software update to install the 10.4.7 update yesterday. The interesting thing is software update reported the upgrade as 64MB in size. I'm sure the Intel upgrade is supposed to be around 133MB in size though. As my Mac Mini is an Intel Mac, have I installed the right update?
I installed the update anyway and my mac mini still seems to be working, but will this have repercussions later on? To compare, I installed the 10.4.7 on my Intel Macbook this afternoon and the update was 133MB in size. So what update have I installed on my mini, is it the correct one, and what do I do if it isn't?

Software Update usually is able to detect which is the correct update. Updates may be different sizes on Software Update depending on the model that they are updating. If you had 10.4.5 or earlier installed, Software Update will use the Combo instead of the Delta update. The combo update includes all the updated information from 10.4.6 in addition to that of 10.4.7 when updating, whereas the Delta is only the changes from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7. You haven't stated that your machine is misbehaving in anyway, so I think you installed the right update. Look in your Library Receipts folder to determine which update was installed:

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS2 on Intel Mac 10.4.6 or 10.4.7

    Hey,
I have just tried to install Photoshop CS2 on an Itel MacBook Pro but it gets stuck while installing "Shared Packages" of "Adobe Help Center".
    Any idea out there?
    Thanks

Please don't say that CS2 doesn't work under Rosetta, when it does. There are performance issues, and for those who use CS2 for large, system intensive purposes have good reason to not want to upgrade to Intel, but that doesn't mean CS2 won't work.
I haven't experienced the install problem personally, but googling "cs2""intel""mac" yields this article:
    http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20060524084530919
To summarize, it may be an issue with either Quicktime 7.1 or Adobe Version Cue.
    Good luck.

  • Installing CS2 Upgrade on Intel Mac

I am just about to take the plunge and get an Intel Mac. I'm using CS2 legacy files for a number of customers. I have CS3 full product but the CS2 is an upgrade. In the past I have upgraded from Illustrator 9 (Full Product) but obviously this is not going to install on an Intel Mac.
Is there anyway of using the AI9 serial as part of a CS2 installation? If I need to keep my old Mac for CS2 then it restricts amount of cash I have for an Intel Mac.
    Thanks

Just install. During the processes the installer will search for a previous version. Tell it to stop. It will then give you 3 choices...
    1) Use the following serial number___________ (This is where you put in the AI9 #)
    2) Use this version [click to browse]
    3) Search for a previous version.

  • Epson r1800 driver installed on intel mac

OK, I spent hours figuring this out. If you have an epson and are on an intel mac here's how you get the new drivers to install.
Go to espon leopard support page.
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportLeopard.jsp
Download your driver. Read the enclosed document, it's still based on tiger but here's what you do. Open the system preferences panel. Open Print & Fax. Where your printers are listed on the LEFT hit the "minus" sign and uninstall the printer there. Then install the new epson driver you downloaded.
There it is in your printer panel, select the new driver as your default.
    IT WORKS!!!!

Ok, I called Epson and they had me do the minus thing, then restart and then try to add again. I had already installed the driver on their website like they said. I could not add the R320 again, and got error message 9672, which they said was an Apple error message and to call them. Naturally, the phone is not even working. EVERYONE must be having some issues with Leopard. . . any suggestions for this error? My printer sort of works still, but doesn't have the right page setup options, etc. it did before upgrading. . . . Hmmmm, sort of makes the term "upgrade" seem wrong, doesn't it????

  • Installing AppleWorks on Intel Mac

I am about to buy a MacBook. As a teacher with older Macs in my classroom, I still use AppleWorks. However, as I recall the disk I use to install AppleWorks is an OS 9 program that I then update using the 6.2.9 updater to run under OS X. Since the Intel Macs don't support Classic, is there a way I will be able to install AppleWorks?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Whether or not the installer you have will run in OS X depends on when it was made. The installers for AppleWorks 6.2 or higher, after mid-2001 or so, are OS X installers. Otherwise, copy the whole AppleWorks 6 folder from the Applications folder from an older Mac to the Intel Mac. Burning it to a CD will give you a backup should you ever need to reinstall. Do not copy over any preferences (except the Button Bar preferences if you have customized the Button Bar) or the AppleWorks User Data folder. To keep within the Apple end user license, remove AppleWorks from the first Mac.

  • Installing Tiger on Intel Mac, do I need a special install disk?

As in one that's specific to an Intel Mac as opposed to a PowerPC. Just trying to figure this all out.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi there,
Yes you do, all the Tiger Install Disks for IntelMacs are Machine specific & Gray in color, add to that, if the IntelMac came with Leopard, then you cannot install Tiger on them. There never was a Retail Tiger Disk for IntelMacs, (maybe 10.4 Server, not sure on that one).

  • Consequences of installing G5 Leopard on  Intel Mac?

I bought an Intel iMac off of eBay, and it came shipped with OS X 10.4. I had a non-retail replacement DVD of 10.5 from when I had an AppleCare problem with my iMac G5, so I tried to use that disc to upgrade my OS. It never worked correctly, and on the Apple forums I was told that the replacement DVD would be hardware-specific and not function.
However, a new phenomenon has occurred.. If I completely install Tiger with the hardware-specific discs that came with my intel Mac, and then simply upgrade to Leopard- the install succeeds and the computer is ESSENTIALLY functional.
It's not perfect though. What I've observed is that (today was the 2nd time this has happened) after a couple days of untinterrupted use (including powering down/up) and having a seemingly functional iMac-- everything goes very wrong. The computer slows down to a crawl, so I leave it alone; then when the beachball goes away, I try to click something. No matter what App I choose, it will freeze up once it begins, and everything I click suddenly stops working.
So do you think this is a consequence of installing a leopard disc with G5 architecture, or that these symptoms are indicative of something wrong with the iMac itself (possibly bad RAM?). What seems strange is the install does succeed with the upgrade, and the computer works great for a good while- and then suddenly stops. One thing that always confuses/annoys me is when computers aren't consistent... I mean, theyre computers!
Please share your thoughts, thank you!

In short: A PPC Mac cannot boot an Intel version of OS X and vice-versa. You will need a full retail version of Leopard that can install either the PPC or the Intel version of OS X. Or as you have discovered your Upgrade disc will install an Intel upgrade to an Intel version of Tiger or a PPC upgrade to a PPC version of Tiger, but it will not performa a full Erase and Install.
As for migrating from a G5 to an Intel Mac see the following:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

Copy the following items from your old Mac to the new Mac:
In your /Home/ folder: Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
    /Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Calendars (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
    /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
    Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the Discussions where specific applications store their data.
    5. Once you have transferred what you need restart the new Mac and test to make sure the contents are there for each of the applications.

  • White 20 inch intel mac osx install problem

I'm trying to reinstall OSX Lion onto an older, 2.16 GHZ, 20 inch intel Mac. I had to reinitialize the hard drive before the install. When I try to perform the install it tells me that "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer.  The disk was reinitialized using Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I have noticed, however, that when I select the hardrive (not the partition) in Disk Utility that the Volume Format is MS-DOS (FAT).
Any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated.
    Gary

The partition should be GUID and the Hard Drive should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    BTW it's an iMac.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The hard drive is not formatted, and it must be formatted in "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" in order to install OS X.
Close the OS X installer, and go to Utilities menu (on the menu bar) > Disk Utility. Then, format your hard drive in "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" as Format > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Finally, close Disk Utility and install OS X

  • Fresh Install on Intel Mac

I am trying to re-install Tiger on my Intel Macintosh and was trying to do an archive and install. It seemed like the only option I had was to Initialize the hard drive. I tried my Tiger Disc and also the CD's that came with my Mac. Any ideas? I don't want to delete the entire Hard Drive. Thanks.

The 1.83 Ghz is NOT a G5. Please update your profile and say iMac Intel 1.83 Ghz. They look alike on the outside, but the resemblence is only skin deep.
The 1.83 Ghz can not take the original Tiger DVD. It must use the Intel iMac install and restore DVD to install Mac OS X. These disks are gray and are specifically labelled for the iMac Intel. If you are missing the said disk, call AppleCare:
    http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html
The archive and install function on Intel iMacs is described on this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301270
NOTE: You can't normally archive and install an older version of the O.S. over a newer version. If your Mac currently has 10.4.10, and you are trying to install 10.4.4 on it, you may run into problems with some applications not installing properly, or some not running after installation. Why are you trying to archive and install and older system on a newer, and who instructed you to do so?
