Mirror iPad to PC

Ok so this is for church use not business but I guess this problem will have come up in a meeting/school environment too so...
I would like to be able to mirror an iPad to a projector via a windows 7 laptop, with or without apple tv.
Let me explain further: I need to be able to control powerpoints, keynotes and prezis for services from an ipad wirelessly from the front of the church (by the minister). However we also need to be able to connect an 2nd montior screen so it has to be done via the laptop and not just apple tv on the projector. We do have apple tv and a router with which to run a network for said apple tv. However it would be best if
A) we did it w/o apple tv (as apple tv is mine and I will be leaving my church in a few months for university)
B) any mirroring software is either FREE or AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE (pref. with a one time cost)
A single license would be fine for any software cus at one time we's only have one person using it (either me or minister)
Oh yes, I nearly forgot, also, I need a solution which will also work on Windows 8. I don't run it at present (deep mistrust) but the time may come by Uni that I need a new laptop and Windows 8 is forced upon me. Also Minister is a little less confident in tech stuff and thus is more likely to have Windows 8 in the nearer future (because Microsoft is determined to make as many people as possible suffer from it).
I know this sounds an odd request, which is why I'm having so much difficulty finding an answer! Hope someone can help me!

There are free and paid software packages that will mirror iOS devices to laptop
They all basically mimic Apple TV airplay and mirroring
It you choose to use one of these programmes you won't need an Apple TV
Airserver is one of these programmes, you install it on your laptop
Connect the laptop to a projector or screen
The laptop running airserver will appear as an Apple TV to any iOS device on the wireless network
Airserver offer a free 7 day trial version ( no Apple TV required)
http://www.airserver.com
Air parrot will mirror your laptop to an Apple TV (requires Apple TV)
Air parrot also has a free trial

How do I mirror iPad to apple tv

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPhone 4s, double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.

  • HT4437 How to increase frame of the picture when mirrorring ipad on apple tv

How to increase frame of the picture when mirrorring ipad on apple tv ??

Contact photos assigned in your Mac's Address Book and synced to the iPhone will be thumbnails.
Photos assigned on the phone itself will be full screen.
You can edit the photo in your contacts on your phone to use a full-size photo.
Go to the contact with the small photo. Tap the "Edit" button at the top right.
Then tap the photo. From the list that pops up, choose the "Edit Photo" button.
Move and scale as you like and tap "Choose".
Finally, tap the "Done" button at the top right to save your change.

  • Video mirroring iPad 2 + Component AV Cable

Can I use a Component Av Cable to video mirroring my iPad 2?
I have the VGA adapter an it works great for that purpose but I'd like better quality output than just VGA.
    Have you tested this combination?
    Thanks

Confirmed, the component cable does not support mirroring.
Also I don't know where consumers get it in their heads that VGA is worse then component.
    They're both analog connections.
They can both do 1080p (1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (16:10 aspect)), VGA can actually go higher then that.
Some devices will look washed out with VGA, this is NOT the VGA standards fault, but rather that devices implementation. The Xbox 360 for example had this issue originally but it was fixed via a software update.
VGA and Component are definitely on their way out in the consumer space, but they're still widely used in the business world with older data projectors (VGA being most prominent).
As for mirroring, the HDMI and VGA adapters are your best friends with the iPad 2.
I believe the component cable could handle the mirroring, its just something on Apple's end that's preventing it. Perhaps because if you use component on an older non-HDTV it can only do 480i and perhaps that causes issues with the iPad trying to output to that resolution. Just a thought.

  • Mirror iPad Screen at full-resolution on HDTV?

Best I can tell from what I've read, there's no accessory I can use to hook my iPad to an HDTV via HDMI, DVI, or RGB analog, and still mirror the iPad's screen at full iPad resolution.
    Is that true?

Thanks for confirming the impression I got from reading this forum, and various other sources.
What I'm mostly looking for some sort of way to have my iBooks (or Kindle books) show up on my big-screen HDTV. That, so that I can read while I exercise on my elliptical machine. I created a ... book rack ... for my iPad and attached it to the exercise machine, but, not surprisingly, it ends up jostling around to the point of being unreadable.
Probably the best bet would be to find some what to attach it to the wall instead of the exercise machine.
I read ... somewhere ... about a rumor that Apple might add iBooks, and possibly Apps capability in general, to AppleTV. As best I understand it, that plan apparently has either been scuttled, or it was just an unfounded rumor in the first place.

  • Need help mirroring iPad Air in classroom

Not sure in the right community, so excuse me for posting in two areas...
I recently got an iPad Air and the lightning VGA adapter to connect my iPad to the projection system in my classroom. It will project the iPad screen on my computer monitor, but will not project onto the large screen through my projector. I was able to do this with my iPad 2 and the 30 pin VGA adapter, which would mirror onto both the computer screen and the big screen using my VGA splitter box. I use my iPad all the time to show students info from apps. Any ideas?
Thanks! Jen Nicholson, K-5 science lab teacher

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... that worked!!! I HAD rebooted the computer, but not the iPad. Once I did that, and rettached ipad to iMac,  'Devices' showed in the right side panel. I think I ticked off the appropriate items and it seemed to back up the iPad onto the iMac. Not sure how long that would take, or if it is finished, so I'm just leaving it plugged in overnight. Tomorrow I will attempt to 'restore' to the new iPad air.
Once again, many thanks for your prompt response.

  • Mirroring ipad to apple TV dosen't work

Hi i downloaded all my IOS update , but when i try mirroring , i can see the bleu bar on top  of my ipad it blinks a few times then dissapear and on my TV i still see my apple TV menu. But i tried it at my friend and it works???? do you think it's my router ??

    Ahh
I think I figured out what my problem is.  Even though I am sitting in front of my Apple TV, my iPad needs to talk with my Time Capsule router in order to communicate with my Apple TV.  The Time Capsule is on the second floor and other end of my house.  Although the Time Capsule communicates with the Apple TV no problem, the iPad has more trouble reaching/communicating with the Time Capsule.
Soooo,  I guess the solution is to install an Air Port Express as a "repeater" in my family room so the iPad will talk to it which in turn will send the information to the Time Capsule and then to the Apple TV.
    I Guess????

  • Mirror iPad VGA display

    Good morning,
I have the need to show the display of my Ipad on an external device/display to present a demo of an application. After a quick research on the web I found that the only way to accomplish this task goes through jailbreaking the device, thus loosing the warranty.
It looks like there’s no other way but breaking the warranty, so I see two options here:
    1) Jailbreak the device and install the tools I need to enable this functionality
    2) Give up with this idea, thus reducing the perceived value of my software
I ask myself why Apple is behaving like this! They have the technology to allow such functionality since they already show the ipad screen on projectors during conferences, so why don’t they share what they already have in house?
Thanks in advance to everyone who’ll provide some sugegstions to help me achiving this goal.
    Regards

The iPad does not support mirroring the screen to the VGA output. The units used in Apple keynotes are specially modified to allow such use. Other than using a document camera to project the iPad's screen, there's nothing we can suggest that doesn't involve jailbreaking which we cannot discuss here.
You can comment to Apple on your interest in such a feature here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
    Regards.

  • I have sluggish video and audio when mirroring ipad 3 or iphone.  Any solution?

I have the new ipad and also the latest iphone.  I really want to use mirroring to stream a particular video each day that i subscribe to using the mirroring feature.  I have found that the audio keeps dropping and playing catch up.   The audio drops out often whether i use the ipad or iphone.  I have a very good wifi connection in the house with full bars for what that is worth.  The audio is fine if i do airplay only.  But the mirroring feature drops the audio often.
Is there a way around this?

I had exactly the same problem. The solution is whatever device you first paired your jam speakers to, go back to that device and and delete jam2 from the bluetooth settings in that device. You're then free to pair your speakers to another device, mac book, ipad, whatever.
So each time you want to pair your speakers to a different device from the last, you have to go into the bluetooth settings of said device and delete jam2 from it's memory. A bit of a headache but nowhere as annoying as wondering why the **** your speakers won't with your mac/ipad when they've just been working with your phone!!!!

  • Mirror iPad to TV---how to?

I've heard that you can mirror the iPad to your TV but can't find out how to do it.   Any help?

This is the responce I got.
Looks like they resolved the concern that you had.
"Does Broadway support dvb mpeg4 streams which most digital broadcasts are switching to"
    >> Yes.
Could I connect this directly to a DirecTV box's video and audio output rather than the TV?
    >> Broadway device can accept Composite and S-video inputs.
You may find more details from the below link,
    http://www.hauppauge.com.sg/site/products/data_broadway.html "
This should do it for me.  Thanks again for putting me on the trail!
