Mirror iphone to MacBook Air over wired connection?

I am looking to mirror my iphone to my MacBook Air without wifi or Bluetooth, as my wireless provider has blocked wireless hotspots on my phone. In order to connect the Mac to the iphone over Bluetooth, wireless hotspot has to be enabled. I would like to use a wired connection. Is this possible?

No such feature currently exists.
Based on the description, mirroring is not what is truly desired.

I have an iPhone 5c and macbook air (2014) BOTH ON THE MOST UP TO DATE SOFTWARE and was wondering if there is any way to play netflix/ mirror things from my iPhone to my macbook. so i can watch netflix etc through my mac? connected to the safe wifi and have an apple tv which works fine with iPhone. just got macbook so not tried it with that yet.

Why not just access Netflix directly from the Mac?

Am I missing something or can the MacBook Air really not connect over bluetooth to the IPhone 5? I have paired the devices, but right when I do and then try to connect them, The connection fails on my phone because "'My MacBook Air' is not supported -->forget this device" and it fils on my computer because the "Network is unuavabiale". HT4260 I did everything the article suggests. And for my macbook pro it works perfectly. But all the other devices (iphone 5, 4, Macbook Air) can't connect to the network. Anybody any idea's?

Try resetting your modem. Power it down. Wait a moment, then power it up again. While it resets, do not change what is connected to it.
In another, though unrelated article, Apple recommends the following:
If you have configured your Wi-Fi base stations in the past, it may be helpful to do a factory default reset of each Wi-Fi base station that will be part of the wireless extended network before you begin.
This step really ought not be considered optional for the configuration you propose. If the problem persists after resetting your modem, reset everything else too.

One the Macs go to System Preferences > iCloud. Switch Contacts off
On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Contacts off
Restart the Macs.
Restart the iPhone.
Switch Contacts back on all devices.

HT204291 Airplay Icon lost from both my iPhone and Macbook Air

I've lost the Airplay Icon from both my iPhone and Macbook Air, so I assume there's something up with my AppleTV setup (connected via LAN ).
Airplay was working fine until recently.I've checked all settings and they seem ok. Anyone any further ideas?
All other functions work ok, streaming video off the net , playing iTunes (installed on Macbook Air) from AppleTV etc
I've just lost Airplay from 2 devices.
AppleTV was updated in the last few days, but the Icon was lost before that.

OK. Solved !
A simple reboot of my modem/router (the fibre one from BT - BT Infinity) fixed this for
both my iPhone and Macbook Air.
I can also mirror my iPhone screen to the AppleTV now too.
(mirroring only worked from my Macbook Air before)
That must be a new feature. Excellent !
I guess I should have tried that before, but maybe this will help someone

plugs into aux and recives music over B/T from

My new Macbook air won't connect to my Vizio HDTV.

My new Macbook Air won't connect to my Vizio VO32LF HDTV. I bought a mini-displayport to HDMI cable to connect the two. When I connect the cable, and switch to the appropriate HDMI input on the TV, my Macbook Air screen will flash blue for a second, and then return to normal. The TV reports it's unable to find a signal. I use the HDTV as my primary monitor, so I'd really appreciate some help on getting the two to place nicely together!

Thanks for the reply. However, it appears that the issue is not with the hotspot, but with the network settings in the MacBook Air as every other device I have (including non-Apple devices) will connect to the iPhone hotspot. Another symptom is that my MacBook Air can find my iMac (and other network devices) on my wireless network, but the iMac can't find the MacBook Air.

I recently moved into a new place and the landlord has a wireless connection in place. My Macbook Pro , iPad and iPhone 5s all connect to the network without a problem (it requires a password and we were able to connect just fine). However, my mom's MacBook Air is not connecting at all. It recognizes the network and even establishes a connection to it, however, I only see an exclamation point on the airport icon on the top right once the connection is established and we cannot browse any websites.
Does anyone have any potential solution to this? I'm not able to drive to the Apple Store right now so I was hoping something could be done on my end prior to going to the genius bar.

iMessage on my macbook air will not connect. It says "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." I have gone through all the support instructions and a lot of these discussion chats. I have sign out of it and my phone and resigned in. I have checked that everything is verified and connected. My ios is up to date on both my computer and phone. It worked fine until about a week ago and suddenly it stopped

In Hard Drive/Library/Fonts do you have the AppleGothic.ttf Font.
The iMessages account uses this to "register".
If the computer has been Off then the App effectively "registers" the Apple ID again.
It cannot do this is the Font is "missing".
The thread I saw that highlighted this as an issues said the font could be downloaded from Apple but not the "how" of that.

Check the iPhoto preferences:
From the main menu bar: iPhoto > Preferences > General:
"Connecting camera opens" : Set this option to "iPhoto".
If that does not help, disconnect your iPhone and reset your iPhone.
To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Hi, does anyone have any idea how to sync my i phone 4s calandar which is in use everyday with my empty macbook air calendar! Everything else syncs except my calander info. I have tried over icloud and this doesnt work either??
