My iPad 4 does not show up on my TV screen when in AirPlay mirroring mode using WiFi. The iPad displays AirPlay set to TV with the Mirroring On (green).
My iPad IOS software is 8.2 and my Apple TV software is at 7.1. The TV displays the Apple Menu. The “Settings” does however displays the General menu allowing me to see:
Apple software: 7.1 (7003)
Apple TV: Model No. A1464, Part No. MD199B/A
Signal Strength shows 5 circles.
It does not display the iPad screen but when I use the BT Sport App I can hear the sound but there is no video. I have searched the internet for a solution to no avail. The problem first arose when the IOS was at 8.1+ but it worked correctly briefly when I updated to IOS 8.2. Can you help please?

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

Scrolling horizontal line of distortion when in hardware mirror mode

This distorted line that appears while using Dashboard or Expose only happens when my dual screens are in mirror mode. I've tried all the obvious but have now lost countless hours trying to figure out this problem: replaced video card, replaced Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter, reset PRAM and started a fresh account on an external drive. Yeah, I usually go with Crucial RAM, but I wanted to see if Apple RAM was any different (it's not). I also would like to mention that my Apple Care guy is back on board trying to help me with this. He told me that there is a known issue that appears while running dual 30" Cinema Displays in mirror mode (I would have never bought this setup had I known). I guess that's why they stopped making them. Now I'm trying to get info on this graphics card to see if it's a possible fix (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW386LL/A?n=graphic_cards&fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco =MTA4MzU2Nzg&s=topSellers). I have two concerns though. Concern #1: will this card degrade computer performance speed? Concern # 2: on a review of the card, someone said that anything other than the stock cards will not allow booting from the install disk. Wow, this is turning into a royal mess. Dual monitor setup on imac G5 only works in mirror mode

Hi, I have an iMac G5, 2Ghz. I have added a second monitor but when I go to Displays, I don't get an option to setup the monitors like I do on my Intel iMac. The G5 goes into mirror mode and displays the same image on both monitors. I would like to setup the second monitor to extend my desktop.

Your iMac is perfectly normal.
For a long time, Apple's "pro-grade" Macs like the PowerMac towers and the PowerBooks allowed extended desktop settings; the "consumer-grade" machines like the iBook, eMac and iMac had only video mirroring.
The better handling of external displays on iMacs did not start until the Intel Macs appeared.

Hi, firetiger.... i have the EXACT same problem!!! i have the same Macbook aluminum unibody screen also. I have no idea how to fix it. I'm also out of warranty and i've tried everything... resetting the pram, trying to restart in safe mode, trying to boot from a cd... .NOTHING WORKS!!! i can still control brightness itself but ive never tried attaching to an external monitor. I know everything is loaded correctly... i just don't know whats wrong. If you have any ideas.. please let me know. Also, I think apple will fix the macbook pros with a similar issue for free http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377 but i know this doesnt apply for me. hopefully they work something out because I really love that computer!!!

Dual 30" ACDs not working correctly in mirror mode

My Apple Care guy is telling me that the problem I have is known and there is nothing they can do for me. I find this hard to believe, especially since it seems like I'm the only one complaining about this, so, before throwing in the towel and accepting defeat I ask, "Does anyone else have two 30 inch ACDs that do not work correctly while in mirror mode?". After reviewing your Videos, I suggest that you may never be satisfied with the performance of two displays on one display card.
You are a very exacting and demanding user. You may want to consider having each display on its own card to maintain crispness and lack of transient artifacts.

Air Display 2 only worked on mirror mode not second monitor

I'm using PC Win 7 enterprise and IPAD Air. IPAD Air installed with Air Display 2.
The Air Display 2 only worked fine when on 'mirror mode', but not working as secondary monitor. IPAD display colour in 'blue' and able to activate the keybaord.
Need tips how to fix the problem to work as extended monitor.

Broken Display to TV not in Mirror Mode?!?

I have a BlacBook hooked up to my TV and I am able to see an empty desktop (aurora background only)
The LCD is broken on the Mac, so I need to get it into Mirror Mode (rather than Extended Mode, that it appears to be in now)
I've tried F7, but it doesn't seem to be working... any other ideas would be appreciated.

Oh Jeez, well I unplugged the display cable and reconnected... it seems to have solved that issue.
Now, it looks like the HD is trashed

Mirror mode not working

Hi,
Using my new RAZR now for a couple of months and I'm unable to use mirror mode as explained in the instructional video.
Plug RAZR into my HDMI port on my TV and select mirror mode on my touch screen on the RAZR.
At this point I cannot make any selections other than the lower part of the screen to display the settings, home, previous, etc. options. The screen is displayed on the TV but no selections can be made from the RAZR. THIS IS NOT GOOD! I can't see that there are any options for the user to select in the way of configuration other than the overscan in the HDMI setting. I brought the phone to a Verizon store but they were unable to help. The software is updated to the latest version. Suggestions please..

I don't have a micro HDMI cable - getting one today - so I can't check this out. But from what I've read with other folks "it should just work." And, according to them, it works much better with the Razr than other phones they've owned.
If possible, maybe try a different HDMI cable and/or HDMI port on your TV? And reboot your phone - which often fixes many glitches.

Presentation plays in mirror mode but not extended desktop

My presentation plays in mirror mode flawlessly.
But when played in extended desktop has only one life. After 'escaping' out of a playing slideshow, I am then unable to play the slideshow again in extended desktop and must either quit out of Keynote or switch to mirror mode.
My computer is connected with a Sanyo PLC-XU74 data projector at our church. The problem also exists when I test it connected to my Panasonic LCD TV at home.
The problem is not specific to any particular file.
My older version of Keynote 3.0.0 works without this issue on both secondary displays (church & home) but will not play the file created in Keynote 09 (error message 'Keynote cannot open the file .... because it is damaged.')
My wife's MacBook plays the same files without issue in extended desktop mode on the same secondary displays.
Files created in her identical version of Keynote 09 (5.0.1) misbehave when I attempt to play them on my MacBook Pro - just a slightly different error message ... ('Keynote cannot play your slideshow because an error occurred.' )
Again the file will play initially, but when I exit out of the playing presentation there is no way to resurrect it without quitting and restarting the application.
My head is spinning ... should I reinstall iWork 09?

Seems that the original iteration of Keynote 09 did not like the hardware in my fancy new MacBook Pro. Whereas it was quite content with my wife's older MacBook. It would appear this bug is fixed ...
(Should have done this first - downloaded software update ... that's what you get for being stingy, or living in a remote part of Australia with a dribble of an excuse for broadband internet via satellite!!)

Have you tried resetting the iPad:
Reset iPad: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Resolution issues in mirror mode with last model of Cinema display and MBP

I have been using my MBP with a 27 inch Cinema display for the last year in mirror mode. (Both prior to Thunderbolt). Today, the cinema display is only coming up in low resolution while mirrored, but if I exit mirro mode, the reolution on the Cinema display is correct. Any suggestions on how to get back to prior state?

Same issue here. Since upgrade to Snow Leopard, my 24 Cinema LED Display acts weird with closed lid on my Macbook. It doesn't switch on video at all, only audio seems to work. It is correctly plugged with the special power/USB cable that comes/is attached to the 24 Cinema LED. Also booting the Macbook and immediately closing the lid doesn't
No video at all!
Please help, it seems my external display has become useless...
