Mirroring, Apple TV 1080, MBP

Is it true that with the Apple TV 1080 and Mountain Lion, I canNOT mirror my Late 2008 MBP (other than using AirParrot)?

  • Apple tv and mbp

im on my mbp and want to watch a podcast on apple tv but when i use apple tv's remote it's not also controling apple tv but its also hooked up to my mbp... however thats a nifty feature but is ther a way i can turn it off from my mbp for now?

I am sure that I have done that correctly. Apple TV and MBP states that a remote has been paired, but still both work on both devices. Is it possible that both remotes have the same ID (by coincidence)?

  • HT4740 i already did the Hidding part and later moved the events and projects to the FCP events and projects folder . I still cannot share - keep getting this message "THE SHARE OPERATION 1080P FOR APPLE DEVICES (10 MBPS) HAS FAILED. Quicktime Error -50

Can you explain in detail what you did?
Do any other shsre destinations complete? If not, do you get the same error message?

  • Compressor 1080p for Apple Devices (10 Mbps) Does Not Include Dolby 5.1 Audio Track

Compressor recognised my file's audio properties as: AAC 5.1 (C L R Ls Rs LFE), 48.000 kHz
I use the 1080p for Apple Devices (10 Mbps) which should include Dobly 5.1 audio track
After the succesfful completion of any file the output file only includes a 2 channel audio track.

WIsh I could help and was hoping someone else would jump in with suggestions. The surround sound work I've done successfully is limited to the legacy versions of FCP and Compressor. When I've tested it in the FCPX  to Compreessor workflow, I've not got it to work either.
I suggest you post your question in FCP X or Logic Pro forum to see whether you get some help.
    Good luck.

  • HD for Apple Devices (10 Mbps) not working

I use Compressor 4 to convert a bunch of videos...
Unfortunately the preset "HD for Apple Devices (10 Mbps)" is not working - result = "Failed"
but the setting HD for "Apple Devices (5 Mbps)" >is< working.
I have a Mac Pro 2010, 12-core 2.66 GHz with 32 GB RAM with an ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB.
There should be no performance problem... but what's wrong? Any ideas how to change this?

I've found the problem... it depends on the file name. The file name was
    Chill & Ride 2011 - slomo long v4.mov
I've changed the name to "slomo.mov" and it worked!
    Strange...

  • Mountain Lion:Airplay mirroring + Apple TV + MacMini Late 2009

I've recently updated to Mountain Lion. Mainly what I want is to use the Airplay mirroring +  Apple TV, but I can't d it. I have a MacMini Late 2009. Does anyone help me to do it?.

Your MacMini does not have the proper hardware for AirPlay Mirroring.  Sorry about that.
    AirPlay Mirroring
Requires a second-generation Apple TV or later. Supports the following Mac models:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)
    Try AirParrot (http://www.airparrot.com)

  • HT204032 hey apple! why mbp late 2011 didn't have power nap?

hey apple! why mbp late 2011 didn't have power nap?

Because it requires an SSD/flash storage, and they stated all over the place that a MacBook Air (Late-2010) or MacBook Pro with Retina display is required, since they are the only models with flash storage.

  • HT1555 Two remotes - Both still work with Apple TV and MBP despite pairing

I have a MBP (early 2011 13") and Apple TV. Therefore, I paired one remote with my MBP and the other remote with Apple TV. Both parings have been successfull (chain icon) but still both remotes can be used on both devices. How can I resolve this issue? (and no, I don't want to disable the IR on my MBP)
Is it possible that the two remotes have by coincidence the same ID?

I am sure that I have done that correctly. Apple TV and MBP states that a remote has been paired, but still both work on both devices. Is it possible that both remotes have the same ID (by coincidence)?

  • Direct connect Apple TV to MBP for secondary display

I have an Apple TV (3rd gen) and a Mid-2010 15" MBP  so I know I can't use airplay mirroring, but I was wondering if there is a way to do this over a wired connection (over usb or ethernet?)

    Newer MBPs have HDMI ports.
What ATV generation do you have? What MBP do you have (year/model)? ATVs support Airplay, so using the ATV as an Airplay sink and MBP as Airplay client is still possible.
There are display port-ot-HDMI adapters as well.
Alley_Cat has covered iTunes DRM content, but you can still play non-DRM content via Airplay and HDMI/Component (depending on ATV model).
MBPs  usually have a combo analog/Digital Optical connection that can be hooked up to  a stereo for sound.

  • Can't pair apple remote to mbp

I've been searching for a while now but all the solutions found did not fix the pairing issue I encounter between my Macbook Pro and the apple remote.
I've a Apple TV and a Macbook Pro. Both I want to control with a apple remote. Now pairing should do the trick as the device will only listen to the paired remote. I've paired the Apple TV but I can not get the remote paired to my MBP. Following the instructions on apples website does not work.
    Solutions found:
Hold Menu + Right - FAIL
Hold Menu + Play - FAIL
Checked all other key combinations - FAIL
However the remotes woring fine using them just made sure they work correct. I checked the functioning of the remote by holding it in front of the webcam. It showed the IR light on cam so the remotes are functioning well. (IR is visible on CMOS cameras)
Anybody a bright idea on how to pair the remote to my MBP?
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi Sig,
That box is not checked. Thanx for the thoughtful idea.
I found the cause of the issue about an hour ago. Within XBMC I had the apple remote active. Although the application is not running it did prevent me from pairing the remote. Once turned of in XBMC I was able to pair the remote using the menu+play key combination.
    Thanx again for your thought.

  • Connect Apple TV to MBP without a router

Hello Apple TV experts, hope you are having a good day.
My sister is out in the woods in Virginia in her 5th wheel trailer. She has a nice TV/Stereo setup but only gets over the air TV. She has movies on her MacBook Pro and wants to watch on the TV. She has no internet connection nor router.
Can she put in an Apple TV and connect the MBP directly to it without have a network router? Or would she be better off with a hard wire solution?

    Newer MBPs have HDMI ports.

  • Enable mirroring Apple TV screen crash

After installing Time Capsule, my Apple Tv crashes screen when i enable mirroring. The sound works good, but screen turn into green pixels. Any clue ?

Since iOS5 has not been released yet, we cannot discuss it on these forums.  Only legitimate developers and testers were invited and are supposed to have iOS5.  If you are a legitimte developer or invited tester, you were given information as to which developer forums to ask questions about iOS5.

  • Apple policy on MBP Retina with dead pixel

    Hi
New MBP retina (<90 days) with dead pixel just appeared 2 days ago.
Did anyone experience this and what's the Apple policy on this ?
    Thanks
    V

Call Customer Support and have them replace the screen. They will send you a box to mail to depot.
I had a MacBook Pro with a dead pixel and left speaker out. My MBP was 4 years old, definently out of warrenty. I called Apple, and they replaced the display without charge.
I received the box on Wednesday, mailed it on Thursday (FedEx) and got my fixed MBP back on Friday, same week! This is why I still buy Apple.
When calling customer service, stress that you have more than one pixel out, as you probably have a cluster. Have them do the repair at depot not at any Apple Store. Make sure, since you are still with 90 days, fix it for free.
    Should not be a problem.
