Mirroring keynote with apple tv

I am using my ipad 2 with the latest apple tv to mirror a keynote presentation. It works fine for awhile, then it resets back to not being mirrored. I reset the settings by double clicking the power button and selecting apple tv and mirroring, and it works again for sometimes a half hour or longer, but then goes back again. Sometimes it only works for a few minutes. I have the latest updates on everything. Any idea of what is going on? I've tried this on my iphone and it seems to work ok, but I haven't used it long enough to really tell, as I can't use my iphone this way very much.

I am using keynote 6.2

I have a late 2011 model MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.  I love the AirPlay mirroring feature with Apple TV...BUT, how do I mirror with TVs that don't have Apple TV?  I used to run a cable from my mini display port to the HDMI input of a TV.  This feature seems to be lost in the Mountain Lion upgrade.  Did Apple feel that once Mountain Lion came out that EVERYONE would have Apple TV?  There are no settings in System Preferences/Display like there used to be...only for AirPlay Mirroring.

Running a cable to the HDMI port is still supported. (and still works on mine).
If the Arrangement tab in System Preferences > Displays isn't present then it doesn't recognize the physical connection.  Double check all cables.  If that doesn't work try a PRAM reset:

  • Can i mirror iphone4 with apple tv

i have iphone4 can i mirror my phone by using apple tv airplay

Only the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 will work with the Apple TV Airplay (wireless) feature.  They are also the only ones that will "mirror" when using the HDMI adapter when plugged into an HDMI monitor.  Of course, the second one requires the iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to be tethered to the monitor.

  • Mirroring Issues with Apple TV...help

I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro and have recently bought a Apple TV but am unable to get mirroring working apart from in itunes. The icon does not appear anywhere on the menu bar. All the software is up to date. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the Apple Discussion Forums
everytime i delete the albums from my itunes library and try to sync it, it always starts adding my TV shows of which i have hundreds and would fill my memory on my computer.
Unfortunately for you this is exactly what is supposed to happen. You need to sync those shows to something as the copies on the Apple tv are vulnerable.
As a workaround you might let your shows sync then delete the files from your mac/pc. That's the actual files, not the listing in itunes, which you would need to keep in place.

  • Keynote and apple TV

I really would like to use iPad Keynote with Apple TV. This would be a big money saver for our office during presentations but we cannot see how to do it right now. Basically it would mean we would buy apple TV modules for the office and then we would be free to do presentations in any of our rooms using wireless.
If this can be done can anyone explain how?
Does apple have plans to include this ability in future updates?

To the best of my knowledge, Keynote does not support Airplay, so this would not be possible though an Apple tV. You can, however, connect the iPad to a screen directly either via HDMI (or DVI with an HDMI to DVI adapter) or VGA. Keynote does support video out.
Whether or not Apple has plans to add Airplay support to Keynote, no one here will know since we're all just fellow users.
    Regards.

  • IPad 2 and iPhone 4s Mirroring with Apple TV

I have an Ipad 2, an iPhone 4s and an Apple TV Gen 2. I can not figure out how to mirror for the life of me! I'd love to use the apple TV for mirroring keynotes. I don't see it as an option anywhere (not even through the iPod controlls). What am i missing?

You have to update the Apple TV to version 4.4
If you haven't yet done so, the direct update is currently down.
So you can grab a micro usb, disconnect ATV, and connect to iTunes
Or wait until it's back up

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
    You have two possibilities:
    1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
    2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program

  • HT201343 My MBP is Early 2011 but dunno why cant use mirroring with apple TV, the icon cannot be found

My MBP is Early 2011 but dunno why cant use mirroring with apple TV, the icon cannot be found. So cannot use mirroring.
I have follow trouble shooting , they recommend to go system preference -> display , thus can find out the mirroring icon if no mean it doesnt support. But according to the web, Early 2011 MBP should be able to use, dunno why.

Just realise I havent updated my OS to mountain lion and this is the reason why I cannot use mirroring before ^^
    Thanks all

Back again to mini display to hdmi cable.
    could you help me????

It is stated that mirroring requires recent hardware (2011 or later)

However you can still use 3rd party solutions like Airparrot which do it via software

  • I am aware that many people, like me, have lost the ability to mirror their iPad, iPhone or computer with Apple TV.  Has anyone yet found a solution?  One day it worked, the next day the option to switch between the device and Apple TV had disappeared.

Has anyone managed to resolve the problems encountered with Apple TV and the loss of ability to mirror iphones, ipads or computers?  One day it was working perfectly, from all the above devices, the next the option to switch between playing on the device or mirroring to apple tv had disappeared.  I have tried all the obvious such as updating iTunes, turning all devices off and then back on, but nothing is working.  Help please!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your problem is most certainly network related, you might try restarting your devices including your router as a temporary solution, but in the long term would be better correcting the problems with your network.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.
