Mirroring Toggle missing

I have been trying to mirror my Mac Book Pro to my Apple TV via I tunes. However no Mirroring toggle appears on the Airplay button. I have checked and the latest software is in place on both.

Are you doing it correctly.
When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.

I just upgraded my iPhone 5s 16GB to iOS 8. Everything seems ok but for one problem.
There used to be a "Enable 3G" toggle in the cellular data menu. It is no longer present and has been replaced by "Enable LTE".

even I was surprised seeing the 3G toggle is missing from setting on my iphone 5 after updating to iOS 8, I don't get it hoe can that be carrier related when the same thing exists in iOS 7.. stop fooling us apple. Having that toggle is a must every other phone on market has it. It benefits a lot if you are in WiFi zone whole day to save some battery. It was the only reason I downgraded to iOS 7 because I cant afford to plug in my device for charging 3 times a day!! where has your common sense gone apple? after steve jobs this company has only degraded.

3G on/off toggle missing in 4S?

Hi all,
Anyone else notice the toggle to turn on/off 3G is missing on the 4S? A google search yields that many have this missing too. I was just wondering if this applies to ALL 4Ss or whether on certain carriers it is still there?
I like the toggle to preserve battery power when I'm not relying on data. Even the 4Ss' technical specs page on Apple.com advertise talk time for both 2G and 3G.
Is this an accident on Apple's part or did they decide to remove it entirely?

ive just posted roughly the same question,im on tmobile and the option has gone but im finding the 3g signal disappears and only a reboot will get it back,without the 3g the phone is an expensive paper weight....

Issue: iPad 1 (5.1.1) with apple tv (software 5.1.1 / 5433)...after swiping iPad to expose airplay, I have no mirror function "toggle" that appears. I can only tap either iPad or Apple TV, but again, no toggle switch displays when selecting Apple TV.
The same issue with my Mac Pro (10.7.5).
However, my iPhone 5 (6.0.1) mirrors perfectly with the apple tv.
Note, Home share is working fine.

The iPad 1 does not support mirroring at all. Nor does your Mac Pro when running 10.7.5; Mirroring via AirPlay came only with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Disable F7 Mirroring Toggle

I use video mirroring about twice a year, but about once a week, my fingers accidentally hit F7. I've searched for a way to disable this, but haven't found one (all searches I've thought of just describe that mirroring is toggled with this key). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I thought F7 was for Expose. Either way I cannot get my F7 key to work. If I hold down fn, Expose is enabled.

Seemed odd to me as libjpeg was updated to 7 several days ago.

???? So extra is up to date but I still have an old libjpeg.
I live in Thailand and decided to use the Australian mirrors. I checked on the first server in my mirrorlist,
Server = ftp://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/archlinux/$repo/os/i686, and saw that libjpeg is absent from Extra. Not even an old version, just totally missing!
Ok, the solution is simple.... use another mirror.
But clearly this is a pain is the a$$. How can one know which servers are reliable and up to date?
Does anyone check this stuff? Perhaps a script could be run that checks the contents of the mirrors against the main server, and posts the results on the Arch website where users can check?

IPhone mirroring switch missing

I have an iPhone 4S IOS 6.1.3 and an Apple TV (2nd ogeneration) with TV software 5.3 (6105)
I have rummage through many posts, but have found no solution to the missing mirroring switch.
On my iPhone 4S, I scroll to the left and find the volume bar with the AirPlay icon, But when I push Apple TV there is no switch to change to mirroring!
I have the AirPlay icon which shows iPhone, Apple TV to and my DENON (AVR – 1912) but again, the mirroring option is missing under Apple TV.m
I can:
Use display mirroring with my Mac mini server late 2011 edition
Stream music and videos from iTunes And the iPhone 4S (under movies) and again, the Mac Mini has no problem with mirroring.
My wireless network comes from my Apple Airport extreme base station and my iPhone 4S is connected to the same.
I've spent four hours on this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cmd - F1 Video Mirroring Toggle

Is it possible to disable the video mirroring which pressing command-f1 invokes? Several times I accidentally press it whilst trying to press cmd-1 for my first shortcut in Safari, and it's quite irritating; my carefully arranged windows are consolidated onto the main display and both my monitors cut out for a slight resolution change.
Cue five minutes of pressing the dreaded combination of death (Command-F1) again, and subsequent rearrangement of the windows.
Please tell me how to stop it. I've poked around in the Keyboard Shortcuts' intricacies to no avail.

Thanks for the tip but I'm not wild about changing the global behavior of the Function keys in the manner you describe. I have a laptop and I use the special functions assigned to the function keys all the time and prefer not to have to hold the fn key to access the special function (like dimming the display). Sounds like there isn't a way just to disable the display mirror hot-key function which would be ideal for me.

Ios 8.1 carrier 2g 3G toggle missing

Ok here is the solution. I Have tried and tested. 100% working. There is no issues with the ios. It is just the carrier update which is causing the problem. According to Airtel, there will be only 3G and 4G from 2015 onwards in India. So they have jump in front of time and updated their carrier setting with the new one. And it affected the battery life very badly. What i have done is port my number to Vodafone. And everything become normal. 2G/3G toggle is back, battery even lasts for atleast 2 days. This is the ultimate solution for this.

Hey! I have a new AppleTV out of the box and am trying to mirror my many iDevices through it. Mirroring works fine with an iPad 3 and an iPad 2. However, the AirPlay Mirroring "on/off" toggle switch is not available on an iPhone 4, a first gen iPad or an iPod Touch. AppleTV has been updated/restarted and all that. Everything is logged into the same wireless network. Both iPhones are running the latest iOS. Still no toggle switch.
Is there a compatibility issue here? Or is there a setting that I'm missing to make the Mirroring toggle switch appear? I've seen a lot of related posts, but it sounds like updates and restarts have solved almost everyone else's issues, just not mine. Any help is appreciated - I'm hoping it's something simple. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, this is what I suspected. The AppleTV box says " ... mirror the screen of your iPad or iPhone 4S on your TV ...," so maybe the iPad part should be updated to "iPad 2 or later." False advertising, no? Thanks again!

Apple TV 2 choppy video playback when mirroring from Macbook Pro (Yosemite) and Macbook Air (Yosemite) but not iOS devices

Video playback is choppy (cuts out every 30-45 seconds) when air playing from both my MacBook Air 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 running Yosemite and my husbands new MacBook Pro, but runs perfectly when mirroring from any of our iOS devices (iPhone 6+, iPad mini 3, etc.) We have Apple TV 2. This problem just started a few weeks ago, was working fine around Christmas. The problem seems to have coincidentally started right after our son tried plugging in and setting up his Chromecast on our tv. I disconnected the Chromecast, but we still have the problem. All of our software if up to date and I've tried disconnecting blue tooth, we do not have a microwave and our wifi network has a very strong signal. We have an Airport Extreme base station. Is there a solution to our problem?

I have an iPhone 6 and Apple TV 2nd generation (model MC572LL/A). I used to do airplay mirror to see what I'm doing on my phone on TV. After I upgraded my iPhone iOS from version 8.1.1 to 8.1.2; the mirroring doesn't work any more.
It behave like this. I press airplay button on iPhone, then select the Apple TV as output device, then I toggle mirroring to on. when I press done. It wait for 2-3 seconds and return to place for pressing airplay button again and airplay is not activate at all!! when I do the same procedure with mirroring toggled to off, it works fine. My apple TV is updated. and my wireless coverage is perfect & I counted restarting everything in different orders for 12 times and nothing changed.
While my iPhone iOS was version 8.1.1. mirroring were working fine. since then there has been no update for Apple TV and it has been working using software version 6.2.1. I didn't find anyway to downgrade my iPhone and I don't think is the right way.
What is the solution to make mirroring work again?

[SOLVED] Installing VLC from Extras doesn't work.

Hey guys,
During installation I enabled the pacman repository mirror for my country. Which is hosted by Kangaroot.net
Just now I tried to install VLC media player. Oddly enough pacman couldn't find a couple of dependency packages on the Kangaroot mirror.
To fix this I went into /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and enabled all the mirrors from Germany. I figured that would fix it.
Seems that the German mirrors are missing the same packages though. This is pacman's output:
error: failed retrieving file 'libdvbpsi-0.2.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz' from mir.archlinux.fr : Not Found

When you look up "Archlinux" on the videolan.org website it claims VLC ought to be available in the Extras repository.

Am I right in understanding that because pacman's database was not properly updated it couldn't find the same packages on other mirrors either?
Yes. Your database was out of date, therefore pacman was looking for things which would no longer exist on any up to date mirror.
