Mirroring using AirPlay during a call
Hello,
I try to make a presentation video for an app using AirPlay mirroring from an iPhone 4s to a Mac (10.7 Lion), and both apps AirServer and Reflection stop mirroring when i have a phone call.
Is there a way i can fix that?
Thanks,
Stefan
The call is started by the app, the question is if i can mirror while having a call. The phone call is part of the presentation flow.
If is not possible using AirPlay, is there other way to mirror on my mac and video record a crop from display in order to have a video presentation of my app?

Can't use speaker during phone call
Hi,
I'm facing a problem with my Z1 Compact running FW build 14.3.A.0.757 with bluetooth on and my Sony SBH 52 headset (but problem should be the same with any bluetooth headset.
Problem is occuring during a phone call, any time I'm trying to activate the phone speaker instead of the bluetooth device, sound is coming to the speaker but after few seconds, switch back to bluetooth. Re-eanbling the speaker, it works for few seconds and switch back again to bluetooth!
Is it a known bug ? Will it be fixed soon ?
ThanksHi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..
Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.

Hi All,
I've had my new N8 a few days now and it's pretty great. However, I've just stumbled on the biggest problem so far.
When you're in a call and an automated message says "press 1 for sales, press 2 for service .." etc - well, I tried pressing 3 (that was the option I needed) and it connected me to a totally different number out of my contacts list. I was actually trying to set up a doctors appointment, and it ended the call I was on and dialled some friends instead. Very embarrasing, especially at 8am !
Anyone else had this and / or know a fix ?
Thanks, Chris
Solved!
Go to Solution.i Just tried this to check out what you were talking about, i called my service provider number because i know they have the extensions or whatever,
so after pressing dialer (after the call had gone through and the number options were read out loud, i pressed any number (tried them all including 3), what happens is that it connects using the number while at the same time it searches your contacts for whatever contacts name correspond with that number as well...so in otherwords true hte contacts name comes up but i still get transferred to the proper line.
my thoughts? theres something wrong with the number your trying to call (incorrect option maybe?) , try calling another number with extensions or just dial another extension.
oh and a word of advice it turns out that network help people dont appreciate it when you call them 5 times in a row and you tell them "No, I'm good just checking out the dial pad on my touch phone.."

Mirroring with AirPlay problem
Hi,
I'm new here becaue I just got the latest AppleTV and I am having trouble setting up Mirroring using AirPlay.
My AppleTV is hardwired with Ethernet and NOT connected to the Wi-Fi. Is this the probable cause?
Simply put, does my AppleTV have to be connected to the WiFi network in order to be visible to my iOS devices.
I plugged in Ethernet assuming it would be the fastest for watching itunes movies etc.and therefore didn't connect via WiFi.
Or can I stay pluggeg into Ethernet for streaming and also connect to WiFi to enable AirPlay mirroring???
Looked in a lot of places but couldn't find a clear explanation of my alternatives.
ThanksI have the same problem, too.
I have Apple TV 3, and if I use wifi, the Airplay icon show on my iPad 2, but if I use ethernet connection for Apple TV, the Airplay icon not show up on my iPad. There's no problem for visit internet on both wifi and ethernet, Youtube/Movie/ all working.
I am very sure the wifi and ethernet are one same local network, but I have no idea why is not working. Maybe I need a Apple Airport extreme ? -

Cant use Airplay. This is just silly...
While my other iMac 24" i5 2GHz can use Airplay.

Right side of menu bar freezes after using AirPlay Mirroring
When I use Airplay Mirroring with my MacBook Pro to stream "web only" videos on Hulu (or to stream Amazon Prime videos) onto my Apple TV, afterwards the right side of my menu bar gets the rainbow spinny thing (the "spinning beach ball of death," as my sister calls it)
I can't click on anything, the time and battery status won't move, the only thing I can click on on the right side is the Notifications tab thing and also DropBox. The left side is working fine, I can click on everything and it responds.
My dad fixed it last time it did this, I think he repaired the permissions or something (not sure though, I wasn't there when he did it.) So I know I can fix it, but I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem/if it's an issue with the software or just my computer. If it's just my computer, I'll tell Apple and ask them to fix it.
ThanksCreate a new user and see if it happens within that user. If it does, reinstall the operating system. This is also known as an Archive and Install. Be sure to back up your data first. If it doesn't, drag the com.apple.finder.plist file to the desktop from the folder [home folder]/Library/Preferences and restart and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, the issue was a corruption in that file. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have a small music studio setup. I have an audio interface for the output of my macbook's audio. I like to use airplay with my macbook and apple TV. But when I use air play, my audio stop outputting from my macbooks audio output interface and mirrors through my TV speakers.
I'd like the audio to remain playing from my setup output but the screen I'd like mirrored through my apple TV and moutain lion.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
NickyThere is no "corruption" involved - iTunes typically revises the format of its database with new versions, so these are not backward-compatible with prior releases. iTunes does, however, preserve the library file from the previous release when you upgrade. If you've already uninstalled iTunes 12 and installed an outdated version, you can skip steps 1 and 5 below.
Unistall iTunes 12
Delete or rename the iTunes Library.itl file (by default in C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes)
Locate the date-time stamped copy of the iTunes Library.itl file in the Previous iTunes Library folder (this should be the one created when you updated from 11 to 12)
Copy this file to the location identified in step 2, and rename it iTunes Library.itl
Install iTunes 11
Hold down Shift as you start iTunes, when you get this prompt:
click Choose Library..., navigate to and select the iTunes Library.itl file from step 4, and click OK.
"Opening past libraries" doesn't work if you're simply double-clicking on the old library database files in the Previous iTunes Library folder - this will just launch iTunes and load the current database file. -

How can I use AirPlay Mirroring or equivalent with MacBook Pro 5,5?
Hi!
I have a MacBook Pro 5,5 (mid-2009 13"), which I recently treated with a RAM bump, an SSD drive and a shiny new battery.
I'd like to buy an Apple TV in order to use AirPlay Mirroring. I understand that only the MacBook Pro laptops that have been released in 2011 or later are compatible with the feature, but I know that some third party apps (like AirParrot) offer a decent workaround. Unfortunately, it seems that the MacBook Pro 5,5 (i.e. my laptop!) isn't compatible with AirParrot.
Does anyone have a solution for me?
Thanks!!

HT4437 how to use airplay mirroring between ipad3 and apple tv without any internet or wifi
I do presentation and a lot of the time, there is no wifi or internet connection available in the room (school, church, community center).
Is there a way to use airplay mirroring so I can use my powerpoint or my keynotes from my ipad to the apple tv?
I also have a macbookpro, I know there is a way to create your own network with the macbookpro, how don't remember how, but would prefer not to have to carry my macbookpro.
thanks
ChristianYou can stream the content with a local connection. You dont need "internet", but need to connect the apple tv to a wireless router(plugged in with no internet) or hardline. Then connect the ipad wirelessly to the same router. Its a basic internet setup without the "internet ethernet cord" plugged in.
