Mis-registered system or lost?

I have a user with a laptop AB12345, which is in a remote location but joined
to our domain. These systems use our external-facing (DMZ) Zenworks 11.2.4
server "over the internet", but also the user can connect via VPN which then
automatically will switch to one of two primary servers on the LAN.
The user's system has the 11.2.0 agent still, though we are starting to deploy
11.2.4 to the desktops more broadly.
The agent properties from the laptop show the system as AB12345 and "managed".
The user has a NAL window that appears to show appropriate user- and
system-associated apps, and that appears to function properly.
But ... I cannot find the system in ZCC. Checking from the user side in ZCC,
the user is only shown as associated with their prior system, which was
re-purposed a year ago. I've even searched for just "12345" and it doesn't
come up under devices. Using an advanced search based on the device IP
address, or containing the numeric part of the asset tag, or the login name as
the user who is currently logged in, turns up nothing.
I'd think that perhaps the system wasn't registered, were it not for it showing
"Managed" and the correct system name, in the agent properties.
I can't figure out how the system cannot be showing in ZCC, or if it somehow is
registered to a different system tag ... and if so, how to find it and fix the
issue. If the agent properties are correct then the system should presumably
be showing up with the asset name I have for it.
Any suggestions for how to find the system or fix the issue?
Thanks.

I don't know about the 11.2x agent but I can say that the 11.2.3a agent had
serious cache corruption issues. I have also experienced the "user is only
shown as associated with their prior system" from a repurposed computer. In
my case it would be caused by the tech forgetting to do zisedit -r before
re imaging to get rid of the image safe info. You may want to try when re
registering the laptop after a unr to add the -g option to force a new guid
being generated. zac reg -g "your server". This for me fixes the incorrect
user info associations. I made the jump from 11.2.3x to 11.3.2. huge amount
of fixes to the agent and unfortunately a new one introduced. Slow login
from a log off / log on situation. so I 'm waiting for fru1 to release
before rolling out.

    Hello 6underwood,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections

If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.
    Best of luck,

  • Register system to SLD with fully qualified name

Anybody know how to register the host name for an abap system to the SLD so it uses the fully qualified DNS name?   According to the help files in the SLD, it say's:   "By default, host names in SLD are written lower case without any network domain"
    Our SAP servers are in:
    ex.) abc.domain.com
    Our desktops are in:
    ex.) def.domain.com
So, when developers try to register their local NWDS to the SLD,  they cannot reach it.  The only solution is for them to add the SAP Server domain (dx.domain.com) into their local tcp/ip settings on their desktop.
Does anybody else have this same issue?  Any suggestions on how we can use a FQ DNS name for SLD registration?
    -Dave

Sorry for the confusion.  I think I may have mis-worded my own question.  It was a Friday!
Want I meant to say was, our developers' local JCo connections fail when they try to make a connection to an SAP system listed in the SLD.   This is because the two machines (pc and SAP server) reside in different domains.
    SAP Servers are in abc.domain.com
    Desktop computers are in def.domain.com
The only way for the JCo connection to work from their desktop, is if the developer adds "abc.domain.com" into the tcp/ip settings on their desktop.
If we could register the SAP system in the SLD as a Fully Qualified Name, I think the problem would disappear.

    Sampath,
You can use one of the following workarounds :
    1. Install redhat-release package from AS
    or
    2. Edit /etc/redhat-release
    change (for example):
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 4)
    to:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 4)
The next version of "up2date" will correctly handle "ES" or "WS" systems.

  • Solaris 10 u9 x86 Cannot update or register system.

I'm having and issue where I can not get updates/patches via smpatch or updatemanager on my workstation.
I've recently upgraded (not replaced) the system to Solaris 10 u9.
I've tried to re-register the system however, it keeps prompting for a proxy to access the internet. There is no proxy needed.
I've read other posts and found the suc.sh tool which I've run - see below.
If anyone has any suggestions besides re-building the workstation please let me know.
    Thanks!
I'm getting these errors in /var/adm/messages:

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update/restore usually resolves the network timeout error.

  • Bookmarks from previous system all lost. Firefoxidn't sync when accesed from another system. The account didn't even exist. Why? Help me get it.

My previous system crashed and I just got a new one set up. Installed firefox and tried syncing but my acount wasn't even recognized and I had to sign up again. Which led to all my previous bookmarks getting lost. Is there any way to retrieve all those bookmark data?

hello theja, there has been a change in the sync account system in firefox 29. when you have set-up your account before that (which is likely the case when your credentials weren't known once you tried to sign in to the new sync), you'll need your old username, password and recovery key in order to connect to the old account!
if you have that information available you could try the following procedure:
    # disconnect from the new account through the sync panel in the firefox options.
    # enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), right-click somewhere in that page & create a new string preference named '''services.sync.username'''with a value like '''fake''' and restart firefox.
    # afterwards you should be able to connect to the old account through the firefox options > sync panel. if this worked and you could import your data this way, please log out of the old sync account again and reconnect to your new account.

    dharmaji,
check if you have an entry for sapgw03 in your /etc/services file, if you had add it recently, restart your portal.
to check, wether the port is reachable from your portal server you can use in a command box on your portal server:
    telnet <ip-address of backend> 3203
    kr, achim

  • Register system in SLD

    Hi Guru's,
    Another question!
I have a j2ee-system that I would like to register in my central SLD.
I go to the server, open the visual admin and go to Server - Services - SLD Data Supplier.
The target system I want to connect to has to be reached using saprouter.
So in the field host I enter the saprouter string /H/saprouter/S/3299/H/hostname
But when testing I get an error:
Operation failed! Failed to collect SLD data.
Unable to open HTTP connection. Check if
the target SLD on the specified J2EE engine
    is available.
I assume I have to perform some additional action to get this running.
    Does anybody have an idea?
    (os=windows)
On the ABAP stack (rz70) the saprouterstring did not cause any troubles.
    Regards,
    David

Though your solution manager is connected to different customers, you need to directly give the central SLD hostname.
    From Visual admin
Navigate to the SLD Data Supplier settings for an HTTP connection.
                                a.      Choose Cluster -> Server ->Services -> SLD Data Supplier.
                                b.      On the Runtime tab page, select HTTP Settings.
Specify the connection and logon data for the SLD server of your system landscape and save your entries.
For security reasons, do not use any user accounts that own more permissions than DataSupplierLD for the Java data supplier. Use the J2EE role DataSupplierLD to set up a dedicated user. eg. give SLDDSUSER
Immediately after saving the settings, you can trigger a data transfer to your SLD server for test purposes by choosing the button .
