Misleading and misreprese​ntation - 3rd party marketing to bring back old customers

Just had Verizon installed last week and did not get all of the incentives the 3rd party rep. offered.  First the rep spent 4 hours in my house getting the order done (Verizon had changed the operating system and he was having trouble navigating it) but honestly I like the service and with the package he was offering  it was ok for me.
The offer:
2 years Ultimate package, free Multi room DVR & $300 Visa Prepaid Card
Sounded great and would make my switch back to Verizon worthwhile because without the prepaid card it wouldn't be financially smart (Verizon $25 more a month for same services as Comcast for first year) . So after service installed I realized I did not have all of the movie channels and stated by the rep and on the flyer. So I call Verizon CS that night after installation and speak to a Rep. who says the order is not even in for real service yet and only as installation, but also tells me that the Ultimate package does not include HBO or Starz as I was told and it says on my flyer. I say ok, can I check the rest of my order please. So I tell him the package and he says , that there is no $300 gift card on the order.  I get a little upset and he says there is nothing he could even such as "a $20 bill credit for for 12 months" because the package is not active in his system.  I repeat to him a "$20 bill credit for 12 months" and he replies "yes I have done it before", but he can't because of the status of my service. 
So I call back Fri. still same thing with service order but CS rep says call back Mon. it should be through.  So I call back today and no one can help me with my situation. I mean really the $20 bill credit for 12 months isn't $300 but it was good enough for because of how much I like the service.  Now however I am completely turned off by the misleading sales pitch  by the 3rd party company (which Verizon could only say "sorry") and the misrepresentation of a CS rep. suggesting the $20 credit if they were not going to do it.
It's really too bad because I really like the service and have told so many people how much I like it and they should try it, but now I will scream from the mountain tops, facebook, twitter and any other way I can how they mislead and misrepresent to get sales and customers and TO STAY AWAY  - it's not worth the headache.

    Dear Srinivas,
    This seems to me like a very basic question... Can you please elaborate on what you are trying to achieve and the process you are looking to support? What are you looking to do with the partner info? What data are you looking to transfer to them? (campaign, target list, etc...)
    On campaigns, partners are included under 'parties involved' - this is VERY basic/standard CRM functionality... so I'm trying to understand what you want to do beyond this.
    Please let me know.

  • Cookies turned off and cleared, but 3rd party cookies are still being shared after Firefox v16.0.1 update

    after firefox updated from v15.0.1 to v16.0.1 on Friday (10/19/12), collusion v0.22 shows 3rd party cookies being shared, and a lot of them. I have firefox in "always use private browsing mode", with cookies not allowed, in addition there are no entries in "exception" or in "show cookies". The check boxes for cookies and 3rd party cookies are NOT checked.
    This behavior never happened before the update!
    I re-installed v15.0.1, but it is still happening.
    Rana full sys scan with the latest Norton Security, which found nothing. Tried a few others too, so I'm semi-certain that my system is not infected.
    System: Acer 5251-1245 with windows 7 (current patch levels up to date).
    What changed with v16.0.1 update? Did Collusion change?
    why are 3rd party cookies being shared, and how is it doing it?
    Is there a way to check to see if other browsers have the same issues? e.g. chrome, explorer (yuck!), safari, etc....
    I've really liked Firefox, but I am afraid to use it, especially to shop online or any financial stuff (banks, credit card payments, etc.).
    Maybe I was better off in blissful ignorance before installing collusion earlier this year, but I only ever saw the 3rd party cookie sharing when I had "cookies" turned on without turning on "Accept third-party cookies".
    Again, what changed?

    only add-on extensions are "Collusion v0.22" and "Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon v0.4".
    The issue never happened until Friday 10/19/12 after the Firefox v16.0.1 update, and was noticed by me on Saturday while using the Firefox to check my work schedule (which sets only its cookie and does not share, but it did and got me worried).
    Still wondering if Collusion updated too, and now I'm seeing new behavior.
    I do not want to share cookies, which is why I turn them off, and never turn on "share third party cookies".
    Do I need to stop using Firefox? :(

    I  am creating an integration between a 3rd party management tool and System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2.  I need to export performance data from SCOM into our application for both HyperV servers and virtual machines. Our application runs on
    linux so I cannot do any .NET programming.
    What is the best way to do this? I am aware of using the Usage SPF web service but this will not share performance data for the hyperv servers, just the virtual machines .

    We can use SQL query to get SCOM data out, but about how to send those data into your application, this should be related with how you develop your application.

  • How to get alerts out of SCOM and into a 3rd party management tool

    I  am creating an integration between a 3rd party management tool and System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2.  I need to export alerts such as Power Off / Power On / Configuration change for both virtual machines and hyperv servers from SCOM
    into our application. Our application runs on linux so I cannot do any .NET programming, however I can run Powershell scripts remotely using WinRM.
    What is the best way to do this? I am aware of using the powershell cmdlet Get-SCOMAlert but is there any other way that does not involve polling?

    Think of Orchestrator as a "router", that will route information and workflows between SCOM, and [insert 3rd party product here].  Depending on your 3rd party product, there may be an "integration pack" for it that Orchestrator can use for out of the
    box tasks.
    So what's an integration pack?  Well - think of it like a management pack, but for Orchestrator.  SCOM does monitoring, but it doesn't know how to monitor something unless you install the relevant management pack.  The management pack contains
    all the rules/monitors for monitoring whatever it is you wish to monitor.
    Well, an integration pack is similar in concept, except it tells Orchestrator how to interface and integrate with whatever it is you're trying to perform tasks with. 
    For what you want to do, there is a SCOM integration pack.  This is a set of tasks that can get alerts and events out of Operations Manager (there are also tasks that can create and close alerts in Operations Manager). 
    From what I can imagine - you would want to get alerts out of SCOM when they happen (so you would use one of the SCOM orchestrator tasks to "get alert if status = new, and source = myapplication"), and then you can pass that alert to another task - such
    as write it to a CSV file or something.  You could then have another task that picks up that CSV file, and passes it to your application where it can be captured.  Or you could use the CSV to populate variables in a powershell script, and then powershell
    that information into your app.
    There are many ways you could do this, but I do believe that Orchestrator would be the better option.

  • No alarm in auto-lock and passcode lock, 3rd party recommendations?

    My iPhone 4S and iPad mini alarms are set to wake up time of 6:30 am every day. I use the built-in Apple Clock app. Both devices are set to auto-lock and passcode lock. A couple of times, I have overslept and have been late for work because the alarms have not sounded. Did this start happening with an iOS update? This is especially irritating when I am away from home and not waking up when family members are up and making noise early, like a backup alarm. Some 3rd party alarm apps will sound when they are left open and the auto-lock and passcode lock are on (always). I would much rather use the Clock since it is part of the Apple bundle of apps. I can't say Clock is "free," because I paid for it with the standard apps. I hope a good substitute third party free app is available, I am willing to try, because I try to avoid throwing good money after bad. Any recommendations?

    It should be working regardless of the lock screen. Try deleting all alarms, then re-adding.

  • MS Office and some other 3rd-party apps no longer open

    Whenever I try to open any MS Office applications, the icon just bounces briefly in the dock then disappears. It's Office v. X, carried over from my old iBook. It worked fine on my new iMac for a few months, I think until New Year's Eve when I installed Security Update 2007-009.
    Since then I've tried uninstalling (or rather deleting, since the included uninstaller also fails to run) and reinstalling from the DVD, verifying the HD in Disk Utility, installing the combined update from download, and moving or trashing the com.Microsoft.Word.plist and so on in my Preferences folder, but the problem remains.
    The computer came with an Office 2004 "Test Drive" which also fails to run, and it's also affected a few other 3rd-party applications, but by no means all of them. For instance, Microsoft Messenger runs fine.
    I was waiting for the next security update (2008-001) to see if that fixed it, but no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Like I said, Office X worked fine on the intel for the first couple of months. And the Office 2004 taster which came installed (and so should work regardless) was affected in exactly the same way, so it's not a compatibility problem. Also, repairing permissions is what I meant by 'verifying the HD in Disc Utility'.

  • How can I Downgrade to Snow Leopard and keeping all 3rd party apps?

    New to MacBookPro and really happy. With Lion...not so much. I want to downgrade to SL, however, apparently I must reformat the hard drive. Here´s the real question: If I have a backup of my entire HD with the user, docs and all the apps I have installed (on Lion), once I downgrade to Snow Leopard, can I just move all my apps from the back up disk I have made of my Lion-Running hard drive? In other words, How can I downgrade without having to reinstall every single third party app I have?

    First, how new is this Mac?  A Mac as a rule cannot boot to an older operating system version than that with which it was originally supplied.  In other words, if this is a new MBP that came with Lion then you probably cannot get it to boot to SL.
    Some applications (and I take it you do mean full "applications" rather than "apps" which are mobile device programs -- it helps to be clear o terminology) can just be dragged from place to place.  Others, notably Adobe and Office, install things all over the place and unless you are good at finding hidden files with obscure names in 10 different places you will just have to re-install them.

  • Connect to server using VPN and router, then 3rd party software hangs

    I connect to my employer server using *Apani Contivity VPN* software to get email, accessing the internet with FireFox and any of the following devices *NetGear RP614v3, Linksys BEFSR41* routers, as well as a *Belkin F5D5131-5* switch. I can connect to the internet and log onto the company server. Then I spuraticly, but persistently, have *software hangs when I try to open the software or execute a save when using: Text Edit, MS Entourage, Quark, Adobe Photoshop and Bridge*. I use one of 2 Macs in a company of PCs and the other Mac user does not have these problems. Help.

    I recently purchased and installed iLife '08. After doing this I tried to run Still Life 2.3.4 This is a program that allows you to zoom and pan across photos for iMovie exactly the way you want. When I tired to run this program and open an old project I was working on, it said that it couldn't find the "rolls" in the iPhoto library where I had my photos stored. The next thing that I tried was to re-import all the photos from iPhoto '08. But Still Life does not even recognize the new library that iLife uses. My question is, is there a way to keep using iPhoto '06 while still keeping the other aspects of iLife '08. Or is there a way that you can have both iPhoto '06 and '08 at the same time? Please just give any advice. Thanks!

  • Loss of Music and Video and 3rd party apps not working on 3G

    I've had to restore my 3G iphone about 10x now. The phone keeps "losing" my music and video, and then the 3rd party apps don't work. A reset does not help, I have to restore my phone and set it up as a new phone each time. I went to the Genius Bar, they gave me a new phone, but said it was likely a software issue. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way to fix it? I waste like 2 hours re-syncing my phone every time this happens. I'm so disappointed with this iPhone 3G...I wish I hadn't sold my original iPhone and could switch back to that. Please, any help that anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Is there anybody out there who normally publishes their site to a folder and uses a 3rd party FTP to publish it, who has upgraded from 08 to 09 and successfully published to a folder and uploaded via the 3rd party FTP?
    Or is this method causing just as many headaches?

    Publishing to MobileMe and publishing to folder are working OK.
    The new FTP is useless. Just use the normal system of publishing to a folder and upload using a "real" FTP application.
    iWeb will now publish only the changed files to a folder, so that is a plus.
    When you first launch your domain file all the pages are red. Do a "Publish Site Changes" and that will turn them blue.
    After doing this, and you then reset the output to "publish to a folder", all the pages turn red again!
    They'll turn blue after publishing to the folder.
    All this has done is give me extra steps. I guess I'll get used to it.
