Misleading Descriptions in Appstore

My kids were misled by the pictures and descriptions in Appstore for the game "Marscraft". They thought it was a version of "Minecraft", and the authors clearly designed their page to mislead and defraud 9 year old minds. Is there somewhere to complain? Surely Apple must police what's on Appstore and remove inappropriate or misleading material.

The purchase was supervised - my fault too if app store is a "buyer beware" forum for not reading all the comments before clicking the purchase button, but the pictures and descrptions made it look legit. I'm not worried about the $2.99, just irks me that: (1) unscrupulous people post misleading stuff to try to scam people, and (2) Apple doesn't seem to care or do anything about it.
I know with non Apple app stores one needs to be pretty guarded. It's disappointing that Apple is allowing the same experience on their App Store.

How can I remove the 'Qty' text from individual product descriptions?

I didn't know if this was possible or not... I've recently taken the reins of handling an ecommerce site that had been published before I got on board. My boss wants me to remove the 'Qty:' description from some products because the image shown for some products is a misleading description of the actual quantity available (i.e. there is a picture that shows a stack of conveyors parts, and it says 'Qty: 1' to represent one 'stack' of conveyor parts - this confuses customers into thinking there's only one individual conveyor part available however). To avoid any confusion he requested that I remove the 'Qty' text from similar images. I see that you can change the 'In Stock' amount of a particular product underneath the 'Inventory' tab of the 'Products' menu, but I didn't know if it was possible just to remove the quantity description altogether without just typing the quantity in at zero. This is likely a strange question but I didn't know where else to ask! I would appreciate any help or advice Thank you

I just figured out a way to do it, but it's a little weird and complex, and I have no idea what the consequences for editing this .plist string might be. I'm thinking it'll be OK, but you never know what might happen when you screw around with Apple's intentions.
So if you have the Developer Tools on your install of OS X, you can use the Property List Editor to edit the Dock files. (If you don't have this program, you can use a program like [Pacifist|http://www.charlessoft.com> to selectively install stuff from your Leopard disk).
The file you're interested in is within Macintosh HD > Users > Your Username > Library > Preferences, and it's called com.apple.dock.plist. Open that up with Property List Editor, and open the arrow drop-down next to "Root." The lines you're looking for are "persistent-apps" (the left side of your Dock) and "persistent-others" (the right side). If you open the drop-down arrows, you'll see there are numbers below each. The numbers correspond to your Dock items, from left to right.
If you click on drop-arrows by the numbers, a sample hierarchy looks like this: 0 > tile-data > file-label. It's the "file-label" string that you want to edit. Just make it ("it" being the name of the icon under the "value" column) blank, save the file, go into Terminal and type "killall Dock" without the quotes, and your Dock icon should appear without a name. You'll have to do this for all of them.
I should insert the usual caveats here about backing up beforehand and making sure that you have a copy of the .plist file before you start tweaking it so that you can replace it if things go wrong. And perhaps someone with more knowledge of Terminal or third-party apps than I have will come along and suggest a simpler solution. But that's the only one I have.

Does IIS Reset stop/start or IIS Restart fix template issues? See photos.

I have been having major template issues over the past couple of weeks where several templates give me access denied. I have been in contact with Microsoft about the issue, but after 2 days and 5 hours on the phone, the issue still cannot be resolved.
I then tried to use old sites that had the templates and "Save Site as Template". The new template that was saved are stored in the Solutions Gallery (template is "activated").
I ran the create new site process and chose the new template that I saved.
The template looked like this last week,
Now the template looks like this today.
In between last week and this week, I did an SP2 installation to Project Server 2010/SharePoint 2010.
I also did an IIS Reset /stop and IIS reset/ start
I also went into the IIS Manager on the central administration server and clicked "Restart".
This is a very time sensitive issue, and want to know how I accidentally resolved the issue. It's very weird that any of these above would change the template, but somehow it did. I do not want to reset IIS if I do not have to. If anyone has any idea on
how this could have gotten resolved it would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if iisreset always fixes this issue.
Sorry for my misleading description, I thought that there was a possiable that some js/css files weren't loaded in the browser randomly for new site created based on the template, so I think maybe some js/css files customized
and referenced in the orginal site (or in new site) may need to be checked-in and published.
Now I think is it possible that the issue is related to js/css load sequence in browser? or is it browser compatible issue(maybe not based on iisreset)?
Or you may try add new site in trusted site in IE see if it helps.
Also check if browser F12 developer tool could provide some useful information.

Why can't I edit albums in iCloud photos on a PC?

I am using iCloud photos on a PC. Some major issues:
I cannot edit or create albums
Albums I have created on my iPad do appear on the iCloud Photos, but none of the photos place in the albums appear in the albums (which are thus all empty!)
The upload continually crashes
When you open and album and click on upload, the photos do not upload to that album: they upload to the general folder. This then makes the general album ridiculously unwieldy: the process of allocating photos to an album on my iPad is very time-consuming.
Basically, this means I am far better off syncing to photo folders on my PC rather than using iCloud. This is a real shame, as the space-saving features of iCloud photos (and the totally misleading descriptions of it in the Apple website) are great.

History of Appraisal Document for an Employee MSS

Dear Expert.
I am implementing PM (Appraisal Document) ESS/MSS with BP 1.41. However I have the following doubt:
When an employee had a "Organizational Change" and the boss want see the appraisals that were did for this emplooyee.
My question is: With the MSS The boss can see this appraisal also ?

In order to display an appraisal document, access to the template, the
appraiser and the appraisee is needed. Besides the two ways outlined
above, you can also disable the authority check against the appraiser.
You can do this in the appraisal template in the 'Processing' tab; the
setting is called 'No Authorization Check for Appraiser'. Despite the
slightly misleading description, this option disables the check against
the appraiser, so for accessing a document only the objects of the
template and the appraisee are checked. This is convenient, if managers
should be able to see old documents of their employees, no matter who
did the appraisal.
To enable that flag in the template, you might need to unrelease the
template first. In your test system you can either set the flag directly
in table 'HRP5025' or take a look at note '888650'. The report included
in that note allows you to temporary unrelease a template. If you use
that report, please only change this flag, since changing other
settings, might result in data inconsistency. When you are finished,
release the template again.

In order to see or find an appraisal document, you need to have
structural authorization for the objects involved; for all employees and
the appraisal template.
In case 1, the appraiser of department 2 does not have the authorization
to display the personal data of appraiser 1.
In case 2, appraiser 2 does not have the necessary authorization to
display the appraisee of the document.
Thus this is the expected system behavior. I can think of two possible
solutions:
1) You could enhance the structural authorization of the affected
appraisers.
2) Implement the BAdI 'HRHAP00_AUTHORITY'. With this BAdI you can
whitelist certain documents by adding them to 'T_APPRAISAL_ID'. If you
set 'NO_STANDARD_CHECK', these documents pass the authorization check
and can be displayed.

Problem in loading description of apps in appstore.

I am having a trouble in loading data of apps in the appstore..
Whenever I try to open an app from 'featured' or 'top charts' or any other, it jst gives me an alert message 'too many HTTP redirects'..
I really dont know whats happenin..
I hve an Iphone 5.
I am having this problem since my last os update version 6.1
Please help me..
Cant even see the reviews, description etc. of apps..
In short I can only see the icon of the apps in 'featured' or 'top charts' and nothing more than that..

1.Open Administrator Workbench: Modeling, from the menu or using the transaction RSA1
2.Go to Source Systems (File)and Create a new System.
3. Double click on the datasources, create data source
4.Entitle the Datasource, choose Transaction Data as Data Type Datasource
5. In next screen, Go to Extraction , Activate the data source
6.Go to Preview. Press Read Preview Data.
7.Data will be loaded: Save and activate the datasource
8.Go to InfoProvider, go to Info area and create Infocube
9.Entitle the infocube, press create
10.Display all info objects: . Choose your info objects , Move the characteristics and key figure to the infocube by drag and drop adn activate
11.Go to InfoCube, create transformation
12.Click on the Show Navigator button. Match the fields in navigator. Save and activate.
13.go to info provider, your info cube, create data transfer process
14.Choose: Extraction Mode: full
Update: Valid records update, Reporting possible (Request green)
Activate, execute
14.Double click on the data source, Read Preview Data
15.Create an InfoPackage by right clicking on the datasource. Execute the load into PSA.
16.Verify data was loaded into PSA before proceeding with the next step.
17. Execute the Data Transfer Process
18.Monitor the results (Menu: GoTo: DTP Monitor)
19.Try to display the data at the BW Frontend.

App description frozen on Appstore update screen

Flipboard now joined Skype,BTWifi, and Kayak on update screen, tapping "open" merely takes me into the now updated app but the description is not removed from the update screen-have deleted and reloaded apps-no effect.Any ideas pl.?

At this time it appears as thought the updated apps are supposed to remain in the updates tab. There is no way to remove them.

How to deal with "criminals" in the appstore?

I have discovered a developer, Brian Hall, the creator of games such as Elven Knight, Pegasus Flight, Temple Run and many more games, that i beIieve can be marked as a criminal. His games are totally worthless, they are all exactly the same except for the graphics, and the screenshots and the descriptive text are absolutely misleading. It is obvious that this Brian Hall is trying to cheat appstore users in buying one or more (depending your taste for e.g fantasy, zombies, cute ponies etc) of his apps. Game play is absolutely worthless and in no way even remotely matches with what the description leads you to believe. Brian Hall obviously just wants to make quick money by cheating the appstore public with his worthless apps.
I have bought one of his games and posted a review stating much the same as above, but i even suspect that negative reviews are somehow removed again, since I can no longer see it.
In my opinion, people like Brian Hall and his apps should at least be BANNED from publishing in the appstore, if not actually persecuted for his close to criminal behaviour. Please advise to who or where i can address this issue properly, if anyone reading this knows how to....

Got a new IPAD and was charged 200.00 for all apps previsouly purchased!. Has anyone else had this issue? I went thru the appstore and clicked on already purcahed apps and "installed" them on my new IPAD and got about 50 charges all at once from ITUNEs

After setting up my new IPAD2 I went into the APPStore and noticed there was an already purchased section, which showed all my previous purchases I had made and installed on my IPAD I. IT gave me the option to "install" them onto my IPAD2 and there was not visual "COST" associated with it and it never prompted me for a charge althought I had to enter my account password each time. Additionally I didn't get any emails like you usually do when buying an app. A few days later, BAM! 50 charges or so totalling upwards to 200 bucks with no description other than ITUNES on my bank account so I can't even tell which apps they were for. Is part of the public BETA cloud testing?! I hope to god not, it caused my bank account to go negative and now I have many NSF charges. I can NOT affort this. I know apple has a disclaimer "No refunds" under any circumstance. But as far as I"m concerned. THIS IS THEFT!

More update on y situation. Now on both the IPAD and IPAD2 I can not got to view my purchase History, it says it can not connect to the ITUNES store, but yet I can still d/l apps and can view my account etc etc etc.

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

How to include photo descriptions in iCloud sharing?

When I share photos to iCloud, I find that the online album (stream) does not include any photo descriptions I have added in iPhoto (or any other "metadata" for that matter). As a workaround I have manually added a comment to each shared photo, with the text description being the description pasted from iPhoto, but that's a huge pain.
Has anyone found a better way to include photo descriptions in their iCloud shared photo streams?
I know iPhoto (I'm using version 9.5.1) does export this info, because if you export a photo and view its attributes in Finder, you'll see the metadata. It's pretty annoying because if you spend time adding custom titles, descriptions, tagging faces and places, it would be nice for some of this to be included in photos you're sharing with friends and family.

I'll close this thread by mentioning the more drastic workaround I'm going with: not using iCloud for sharing when I need a lot of descriptions and other metadata. I'm planning to export from iPhoto, including title and keywords, and then post on Google+, which seems to read the metadata from the JPGs.
If you are going to export from iPhoto anyway, you can send the photos using the Photo Stream as well. When you are sharing via PhotoStream, the Photo Stream will transfer the EXIF and IPTC tags embedded in the original file. Only, there are two problems with the embedded EXIF and IPTC tags:
The way you are seeing the photos in the PhotoStream album is misleading. The Info panel in the Photo Stream view simply is not showing the tags that are embedded in the photo. The only visible metadata are the filename. You will see the embedded metadata however in the Info panel, when you import the photo from the Photo Stream album to an event.
And the Photo Stream will not add cations and titles to the shared images, that are not yet part of the original image file and only part of the edited version. But any tags embedded in the original file will transfer.
As a simple work-around to share the titles and keywords, export the images and use the titles as filenames. Then reimport and send via Photo Stream.

Appstore pushing/updating problem (iOS)

Good day.
Have a real problem with updating my application in Appstore. This is third version, and i tried many times, but receive every time the same error.
"bundle does not support the minimum os version"
Error doesn't have more detailed description.
I tried to set deployment version in Info.plist to 5.1.1, 6.0, 7.0 - but without any results
Please, help, if you know how to solve this problem.

XSQL arbitrary adhoc query - misleading error

Newbie question: How can I allow arbitrary adhoc queries without getting misleading errors? (I am aware this can be a security hazard)
Trying
CREATE table test5(tla varchar2(3), description varchar2(80), primary key (tla))
on the following .xsql page
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsql:query connection="demo" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql"
null-indicator="yes"
allow-client-style="yes">
{@query}
</xsql:query>
yields a
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<ERROR>oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: ORA-01009: missing mandatory parameter</ERROR>
Note that despite the error the test5 database is actually created and usable in SQLPlus.
Retrying the same xsql query a little later confirms this and yields
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
- <xsql-error code="955" action="xsql:query">
<statement>create table test5(tla varchar2(3), description varchar2(80), primary key (tla))</statement>
<message>ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object</message>
</xsql-error>
Any ideas on how to avoid the misleading error message?
Otherwise XSQL works nicely.

<xsql:query> expects a query to be done.
Use <xsql:dml> if you want other kinds of DML/DDL statements to be done.

AppStore problem

Hello,
I have iPad mini Retina 16gb with Cellular and a very annoying problem. Sometimes (3 times in February), when I use AppStore, I click on an app, a window with app's description appears and... I can't quit to AppStore! Normally, when the app's description window appears, I click somewhere else and I can continue browsing AppStore. But sometimes not.
I use the Home Button and it works perfectly, but when I click on AppStore, it turns on with the app's description window. And again - I can't browse.
Do you know what can I do about this? Is it normal? Does someone have a similair problem?
This is what my AppStore looks like now. I can do nothing about this to continue browsing AppStore, but turning off and on my iPad again. :/

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
