Miss match on number of songs on I-pod with Library

Hi,
Can anyone advise of a quick and easy way to confirm that all songs in library are checked to synchronise, I have fewer songs/videos on my i-pod than I do in y library but I can't find the missing ones

If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off at once. Just switch them off and then on again and you'll get everything: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows

Try de-syncing all of your music to remove it from the device. Then reset the device (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go) and try syncing everything again.

  • How do I sync song info on iPod with Library

If I update the information of a song on my iPod, can I sync that information with the same song in the library? I am not able to edit some of the songs on the library, so it is not in sync with the information on the iPod.

Can you post this in a separate thread with a bit more detail on exactly what you are trying to do? In the meantime have a look at these pages which should help you get started.

  • Number of "songs available in iCloud" problem

Everytime I update iTunes Match the number of "songs available in iCloud" is 1 extra to the amount of songs in iTunes on my Mac.
For instance I currently have 12089 in iTunes, but updating iTunes Match always says I have 12090 songs available in iCloud.
The weird thing is, if I turn on Match on my iPhone or PC they show the correct number of 12089 songs.
Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to fix it?

    So the results are:
Desktop Smart Playlist: 3946   Desktop iTunes Match: 3953
Laptop Smart Playlist: 3946   Laptop iTunes Match: 3953
    Beatunes on Laptop: 3946
Conclusion: iTunes Match requires some time (12 hours overnight in this instance) to give a stable result on library content.  Beatunes had been running on the laptop in concert with iTunes (iTunes Match enabled).
Assertion:  iTunes Match has to be hosted in a distributed form to allow for the massive parallel processing to support the user community.  The replication of consistent information across the respective servers / datacentres needs time.  It is quite possible that the desktop and laptop had affiliated to separate Apple computing resource.
Outcome:  Worth not being alarmed by apparent minor variation in iTunes Match results on Song count.  For my library 3946 is an accurate count of the number of Songs, 3953 accounts for other items and a few potential songs with iCloud Status other than Matched, Purchased or Uploaded.

  • Number of songs on iPad

I have only synced a few playlists onto my iPad, and when I look at the song list in the Music app, it says there are 165 songs total, and that's correct, but when I go into Settings/General, it says there are 6125 songs loaded.  That is not correct.
I do have iTunes Match turned on and Show All Music turned off, but that 6125 number doesn't match the number of songs I have in my 15,000+ song library.
So where is that 6000 figure coming from and how to I correct it?

I am having a similar issue. iTunes says I have 7,537 songs in the library but the iPad reports that it has 7,533 songs. I don't have room for pictures but the count of books and apps does match. iPad is running the latest OS and Mac is also up-to-date. Any ideas?

  • Number of songs in an iTunes Match library?

My music library is stored in iTunes Match (purchased, matched, or uploaded).  Some of these songs were purchased from the iTunes Store, some were ripped and matched, and others uploaded.  How can I determine the number of songs in my library that Apple considers part of my 25,000 song limit?  Do I have to do some kind of manual count, or does Apple have a way to notify me of its own count?

An easy route is to setup a Smart Playlist for each category - note 'matched' and 'uploaded' will both count towards your 25k limit, 'purchased' do not count.

  • How to know total number of songs in iCloud uploaded via iTunes match ?

I want to know the total number of songs available in my iCloud which I have uploaded/matched through iTunes match ? (I am not asking how many songs are there in my itunes library ).

    Hi,
First add iCloud status to song view - from main menu, select view, view options and tick iCloud status.
This will show matched, uploaded, purchased, ineligibl, remove or ineligible.
Now create a smart playlists using iCloud status as one of the criteria.

  • After downloading Itunes on a new computer the number of songs in my library is smaller than the count on my old computer.  How do I restore the missing songs and my playlists on the new computer?

I have downloaded Itunes on to a new computer.  The number of songs listed in the library is less than the number of songs on my old computer.
How do I restore the entire library to the new computer?   I do I restore the playlists that I created on my old computer?

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer.

  • I am trying to delete a large number of songs from my Itunes library without having to delete them one at a time.  How do I do that?

I am trying to delete a large number of songs from my itunes library without having to do it one at a time.  How can I do this.  All of my songs have check marks by them.  Help!

Then I suspect you do not have iTunes Match enabled. Using that "delete all" command in the Settings does not remove the music from the cloud, nor does it disable iTunes Match. With iTunes Match enabled you will still see all the music.
So go to Settings > iTunes and App Store and make sure iTunes Match is set to ON (green).

  • How can it that half of my songs are matched in iTunes Match where the other songs from the same CD (ripped by Itunes) are not matched but uploaded?

I started with ITunes Match a few days ago (I have the latest versions of all OS's etc)
    - The whole process took more then two days to complete for the first time.
    - Half of my songs are matched in iTunes Match where the other songs most of the time from the same CD (most ripped by ITunes) are not matched but uploaded(?)
    - Complete CD's are not recognized, they are however available in the ITunes store (songs in my library not available in ITunes are an exception).
    - The match part overall is less then 50%, which is a complete disappointment.....
    - When I activate ITunes Match on my IPod, IPhone and IPad the art-work does not load or only partly.
    - Loading songs on iOS is extremely slow... and that is definitely not due to my internal network.
    - ICloud (ITunes Match) on the apple TV stops working after every 15 seconds because it losses connection to the ITunes server....
I am a real Apple fan for the last decade but what a disappointment is this......before I started with ITunes Match everything worked seamlessly.

The number of Songs that 'matched' is simply a function of the current iTunes Match service process.  It is not unusual to have multiple Songs in an otherwise perfectly matched album be uploaded - often it is very possible to find the album in the iTunes Store.
The Artwork does tend to reappear for many over a few days / weeks - however, if your library backup has all Artwork present it would be wise to save the Album Art separately and reapply to Albums not showing art work in the library grid view.
Many of the other performance issues you mention are not typical - though during the past working week or so the Apple Infrastructure has been very heavily loaded with multiples countries having service go-live symultaneously.

  • How do I delete a large number of songs off my iPad

I have a large music collection and have downloaded a large number of songs onto my iPad (10GB).  I don't need that much music on my iPad and would like to put the songs back in the cloud.  I don't want to have to delete thousands of songs one at a time by swiping.  What is the best way to do this?
I have a 4th gen iPad and I have iTunes Match.

  • Number of songs out of sync

I have a 5th generation Ipod and I am having a problem where the iPod shows 2740 songs when I shuffle all but shows 3140 in I-Tunes. I checked to see if some of the songs had " do not include in shuffle" but this is not the case.I can not understand why there is approx 300 songs missing in shuffle mode.Any ideas?

How many songs are on the iPod total? You said iTunes has over 3000 songs, but that doesn't mean they are all on the iPod.
On the iPod, Main menu... Settings -> About and it will tell you all about your iPod including the number of Songs, Videos, and Photos.
