Missed RH8 upgrade

We purchased RoboHelp 7 on May 7, 2008, with order #
AD001542272, less than a year ago. We bought RoboHelp because we
wanted an easy to use HTML editor that:
• Imports from Word
• Creates .pdf files
We found out the hard way that RoboHelp does not import from
Word cleanly and smoothly without some preparation. We never, even
with considerable assistance from the RoboHelp Forum and your
Technical Support, generated an Adobe .pdf from our classic HTML
(chm) Help files. We spend weeks generating a Word document and
editing the .pdf in InDesign!
We use the RoboHelp Forum for HTML Help. Peter Grainge and
Colm McCollum are incredibly responsive and informative resources.
In fact, we suggested that RoboHelp add customize keyboard
shortcuts and toolbars to improve productivity and ease of use. We
also look forward to no more Kadov tags which means cleaner, more
readable HTML code and the ability to be able to create a .pdf
file!
Today we find out online that you have a new RoboHelp version
(8). You have my email address on your order confirmation. Yet, we
did not receive any notice of a new version or a free upgrade
period! Landon at your Live Chat says “Customers who purchase
an Adobe branded or Macromedia branded product during a limited
time after Adobe announces a new product version are eligible for a
free upgrade to the current version.” But Landon also said
that we do not qualify for the free upgrade.
How can we upgrade, if we don't receive notice of the new
version?

LOL, I'm not sure I'd ever expect a free upgrade if I
purchased the product nearly a year ago unless somewhere it was
explicitly stated that I got all future updates at no charge.
Generally that applies to small applications. But heck, even
TechSmith SnagIt costs money to upgrade when a new version comes
out.
Surely Adobe has some sort of reduced upgrade pricing
available to someone that purchased version 7. (And by that I mean
Adobe RoboHelp 7, not eHelp version 7.
As I said earlier, if you are trying to make a point to Adobe
about no notification of the new version, you are in the wrong
place to voice that because this is largely user-to-user support.
Just as an FYI, if you watch these forums you will typically
see an announcement that a new version is available or a beta is
beginning or other things like that. You may also wish to configure
a Google Alert for things like this.

    I do not mean the entire ITunes folder but, rather, the contents of the ITunes folder prior to September 29th.  (90% of the media is missing, along with all playlists)  The media that remains says it was added on 9/29 although I know most of it was added many months or even years earlier. There are no playlists listed at all, before or after 9/29.  (I know for certain that I added non-iTunes purchased songs on 10/6 although I had not created playlists for them)
    I have my iTunes folder backed up on both an external drive as well as Time Machine.
    I run iTunes off of an ITunes folder on my computer rather than from the external, if that's what you mean about how I have it set up. 
    Is it OK to drag the entire iTunes folder from the external drive onto my laptop's drive and see if that fixes it?

  • SAP Query missing in upgraded server

    Hi All,
    Our client has upgraded from SAP R/3 4.6c to ECC 6.0.
    After the upgrade, in the new upgraded server some of the programs are missing. But they exist in the old version(4.6c)
    The following are programs are missing in upgraded system:
    1) AQA0NUCLEAR_OPS=TASKS_BY_DATE=
    2) AQA0NUCLEAR_OPS=TASKS_BY_FLOC=
    3) AQA0NUCLEAR_OPS=TASKS_BY_BUILD
    4) AQA0NUCLEAR_OPS=TASKS_BY_CODE=
    5) AQA0ZFI=========ZFIDOC3=======
    I hope they are standard programs(Generated from an SAP/ABAP Query)…as they do not start with Y or Z
    I would like to know why they are missing in upgraded system and whether they are auto generated programs (Generated by a SAP Query etc…)
    IF any related notes are available to restore back on the upgraded system let me know

    These are all Query related programs.
    they are not captured in Transport requests
    and they are user and client dependent also.
    No other way
    they have to be developed/generated in ECC6.0 separately.
    this is the drawback with the query/s

    The Library file  has been hidden for some time now. So not surprised you are confused upgrading from Snow leopard.
    The easiest way to view this folder is to use the Go menu and press the alt key. This exposes the folder in the list.

  • ICal birthday calendar from Tiger missing after upgrade

    Hi,
    I recently upgraded from Tiger to 10.6.7 Leopard.  I noticed that iCal did not import my Birthday's calendar that I had manually created in Tiger.  None of my birthdays show up except for one when I select "show birthday calendar" in iCal preferences.  I have done the following:
    Removed from Leopard and replaced with my Tiger data the following:
    com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
    com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
    com.apple.iCal.plist
    I have also removed the iCal folder in the Application Support folder in my Library.  After I did this I reopened iCal.
    That didn't work so I tried removing the Calendars folder from my Library and reopened iCal to no avail.
    I also rebooted into Tiger on my external to verify that the missing "birthday' calendar is still there, and it is.
    I tried backing it up when I was in Tiger, than rebooting in Leopard and tried importing the backup to no avail also.
    Any other suggestions?
    Edit:  The calendar that I had created "Birthdays" does show up under "On my Mac", but the actual birthdays are nowhere to be found.

    The birthdays for the iCal birthday calendar are taken from your address book
    You will need to have one contact page and one birthday in your address book for each person.
    Otherwise enter the names onto the correct dates in iCal and set them to repeat each year which is what I have done. I run couples and families in my address book.. Most of the Grandkids don't have their own pages

    Thanks for helping with your valuable suggestions, finally i got solution of it,
    The root cause of this problem was the change in the table T682I by theEHP7 upgrade.The fields KOTABNR has been changed from NUMC(3) to CHAR(3).With NUMC type the wrong statement works anyway.With CHAR type it retrieves no records. thus creating this error message, so it was a pure ABAP programming error. i am closing this discussion once again thanks to all.

  • BACK UP DATA MISSING AFTER UPGRADE

    Hello again
    I am posting again my problem , maybe this time I can get some more help..
    I was using an older Itunes and 4.1 os on Iphone. I backed up iphone and restored it (TWICE) to check for data and eveything was there, after upgrading Itunes and OS to 5.0.1 , I tried to restore from the Previous Backup but lots of data was missing (contacts, pix,videos,songs,passwords) . What happened here ?
    I found 4 backup folders with dates :  20/jan/2012 (1 folder )  , 23/jan/2012 (2 folders)  and   26/jan/2012 (1folder) <---date of upgrade.
    (I forgot to mention that when i was upgrading the OS , I wasn't prompted to do anything by Itunes, Itunes upgraded and backed up the phone automatically.)
    I  looked inside those folders and found out that the folders from 20/jan and 23/jan contain identical info. but the one from 26/jan is different !!!!!
    1)does that mean that the original backed up info is still there but not ported over to the new OS ?!!!
    2)Is there anything in particular that I should look for in the backup folders ?
    3)assuming the original backed up data is still there , how do we make sure it is completely transfered to the new OS ?

    That sounds like a more complicated problem within PC Suite...Maybe you should contact Nokia directly to see if they can come up with a solution for this.

  • Missing mailboxes: upgraded from Mac OS 10.6.2 to 10.8.4

    hi, I upgraded from Mac OS 10.6.2 to 10.8.4 and mailboxes are missing. I tried  using IMPORT - it does not see  those folders which i could easily see using using 10.6.2. Now, the /library/mail folder is not  visible when i use FINDER.
    Somebody told me if i hold the OPTION key when using the GO-TO it will see files that have been made invisible - but this does not work on my mac.

    Holding option doesn't show invisible files.
    Holding Option allows access to the Library from the Go menu in Finder.
    Always back up, first.
    Check to make sure the mailboxes still exist in the user/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes folder.
    If so, you might try removing the Envelope Index from the V2/MailData folder, then start Mail. That will cause it to reindex everything.

  • Notes in the Notes app are missing after upgrade to iOS 8

    I upgraded my iPhone 5s to iOS 8.  After the upgrade, all of the notes stored in the Notes app are missing.  The notes were not associated with an email address, as I believe they were stored on the "On my iPhone" account.  I also tried restoring the phone from a backup prior to the upgrade, but that did not restore the notes.  To be clear, the notes app is there, but the notes inside it are missing.  Solutions?

    spotlight can now be found by swiping down anywhere on the screen below the first row of icons.
    you can also go to settings/general/reset/reset home screen

    I am unable to see "Text Elements" in Workbook which is migrated from BW3.x to BI 7.0.
    I am using Windows XP, MS-office 2007, GUI 710 FEP5.

    I had checked all the pre- requisite for BI 7.0 and BEx .

    This is an Known issue while upgrading WB's to BI7 and we have posted the same to SAP.
    Try this procedure,
    Open your 3.x Wb in BI7-bex - Click okie on Bex upgrade popup.
    Click on change variables in your WB now and enter necessary variable values.
    Now save you WB in BI7-Bex . Try re opening the same WB,
    You have to see your text elements now after refresh.
    if u save the same WB, w/o refresh or change varaibles, you will again miss text elements.
    The below is the reply from SAP.
    " As following to our call, I was able to open the workbook sap_test2( test WB that SAP has created in our system to replicate the problem) and to refresh it in the latest patch 17. However after saving it without
    refreshing it, I was not able to open the workbook. so we are investigating the issue.however as temporary workaround you can the following
    1. Eenable the "Refresh workbook on open" property. this will prevent
    user from saving workbook without refreshing
    2. You can apply a ABAP note which disallow users to upgrade 3.x
    workbooks. But the note is currently in pilot released."
    Ohoo, I think you are from Satyam..the above is the latest info that we got from SAP.

  • PRS-T1 keyboard missing after upgrade to 1.0.05

    Just made an update to the latest firmware 1.0.05, but after the upgrade and factory reset, the keyboard seems missing. 
    For instance, in the dictionary, no keyboard appear... not able to type in as no keyboard
    Additionally, when i try to go the Settings -> General Settings -> Keyboard. An error message "The application Settings has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" appeares.
    And ideas how to fix this?

    Have you been able to try a standard reset with the reader to see if that resolved the issue? This can be done by pressing and holding the reset button on the PRST1. If that does not resolve the issue,  I would like to try a hard reset. This can be done by following the link below:

    We have a problem when upgrade from B1 8.8 PL10 to PL14, the snapshot template missing. We had no problems to generate snapshots in B1 8.8 PL10.
    All the snapshot templates has been installed on <Servername>\B1_SHR\AddOn\Microsoft Outlook Integration\Templates\Default
    And in the -GoTo meny- and select -create default templates- could not be started.

    Yesterday, my computer did some automatic upgrades. Now when I open iWeb, it just brings up a blank new template. Where did my previous iWeb file go? In the past, when I opened iWeb, the files were just there! It was published to .Mac, but I cannot seem to figure out how to open the file again in iWeb. What happened? It just seems to be gone!

    This problem of the "disappearing domain file" seems to come from updating to V 2.0.2 and not doing a restart.
    You need to try a spotlight search for your "missing" domain.sites2 file to see if it has been moved to another location on your hard drive - failing that, do a manual search. Others have been successful with this.
    One of the things you have to realize about iWeb is that it doesn't back your files up anywhere. You have to backup the domain.sites2 file yourself and update it every time you make changes.
    If anything goes wrong and you don't have an up to date domain file - you're screwed!
