Missed "Today" stats in Health App

Welcome,
In my dashboard in Health app I've graphs with my day/week/month and year stats, but I don,t have like before i right bottom corner "Today" stats. It's possible to turn it on?

For example "467 cal" from this photo is Today (or Last Night etc.) stats. I had this but it missed in my case. I'm polish and I have polish version but difference is only in translating. Earlier I've had this info:

  • "medical id" is missing from my health app on my iPod touch 5th gen running iOS 8

Along the bottom of the health app on my iPod touch 5th gen running iOS 8 I am missing the "medical id" that should be the 4th icon on the lower right of the screen

You can't seriously believe users would be *that* idiotic, even on a sue-happy country like the US… And while Apple could get sued, it's not like Apple Legal would lose a case like that; for someone to die in the first place *because of the iPod Touch*, first-responders (be them regular bystanders or medical professionals) would have to be stupid enough to believe they could use it to make calls and not try doing that using instead, duh, a regular phone that they would likely be carrying with them anyway, and for Apple to be in the least bit accountable, the interface would have to misdirect them and make them believe they could in the first place.
Except it doesn't. It never did. The iOS interface, on the iPod Touch, has no references whatsoever to calling functions, be they regular or emergency-related. If you tap a phone number detected by smart filters, you can't dial it (I believe you're offered the option to save it on the Address Book, though), and on the lock screen, there is no “Emergency Call” function (nor would there be such a function on the Health ID page, either). So… I fail to see your point.
And you can't seriously believe Apple would risk, on purpose, a lawsuit by the family of someone who, having both an iPhone *and* an iPod Touch (not very likely, I know, but please bear with me) dies because s/he is carrying only the iPod Touch and unwittingly (but understandably) expects *all* Health and the potentially *life-saving* Health ID info to sync across devices via iCloud.
Nope, this is an oversight by Apple devs, and a massive one at that.
P.S.: A massive legal/functional disclaimer, such as “Warning: This device cannot connect to the cellular network. For emergency calls please use an appropriate device” or something along those lines would pretty much exempt them from any legal responsibility, while still enabling a life-saving feature.

  • Health app on iPhone 5c won't log stats.. How do I start the stats?

I have the health app that was downloaded with  iOS 8, but cant seem to get the stats started. Have tried closing the app as well as full phone restart. Please help!!

    Hey Finshaw,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I’m so glad to hear that you are taking an interest into the Health app that is included with iOS 8. What data are you looking to have the health app automatically log? Most of the data points can accept information from “Sources”, or other applications that specialize in tracking this data. You can learn more about the Health app and how to use it by visiting these links:

  • Health App Stats Resetting Each Day

I got the iPhone 6 the day it was released.  I immediately started using the new Health app.  I added the basics, birthday, age, sex, weight, and I added the "Steps" and "Walking + Running Distance" to the dashbaord.  I notice they automatically started tracking my steps.  So I went for a jog, it tracked that also.  Awesome, so far so good.  But the next day it was all gone.  It doesn't matter if I select "Day / Week / Month / Year" at the top top, the stats are always the same, the only show the current day.  I've checked each day since I've got the phone, each day it seems to start over.  Why is all the previous data disappearing?  Thanks!

  • Why is the "Blood Glucose" missing from health app?

I have been using the apple health app to help track my blood glucose level for my physician.  The blood glucose was essential for my treatment and tracking. The data was lost at a critical moment for me to introduce my progress to my physician.  This is unsatisfactory!!! As a U.S. military veteran using these produces and applications to track success and progress is like the APPLE produce is the Department of Veterans Affairs losing my medical records.   Fix this now!!!

ooh! i am my third mac pro and i love them, in my opinion it is still the best looking case (inside and out) on the market . Fingers crossed they can come up with something better.

  • Health App. and Hydration

Since purchasing my iPhone 6 in December, I've been using the Health App quite a bit, and overall am pleased with what it does, or at least seems capable of (I clearly don't use all of the features that it includes).  What I'm writing about today, and what I was most surprised about, is what it doesn't do (or at least doesn't appear to do).
The App has the ability to track so many aspects of what we do every day regarding exercise, food intake, calories burned, How much Vitamin A we have in our diet, etc...  What it doesn't do (or at least doesn't appear to do) is track hydration, how much water we take in.  With Dehydration being such a major issue in our society (Something like 70% of people functioning in a dehydrated state).  And with Medical and Fitness professionals talking constantly about the importance of hydration to our health and well being...  It's surprising to see this very critical element missing from the Health App's capabilities.
There are so many Food Diary Apps, and Fitness apps out there (Lose It for example) that do track this sort of information, It would be great for Health to integrate this info as well to provide users with a complete picture of what is happening in their bodies.
Are there any plans to incorporate this info...?  Would love to see this feature added in an upcoming update...!

    Keith,
Thanks for the quick response...  It wasn't clear (since I got here from the Support page) that this wasn't Apple.  Will take your suggestion and see if I can find the appropriate area through the link you provided...

  • Health App sleep analysis

I'Be tried a few different sleep monitoring apps - Fitbit, Jawbone, Sleep Cycle and the Withings Aura - and get a lot of good data from them but when I connect. To the Health App all I get is a vertical bar on the week data chart to show how long I was in bed and a horizontal bar on the daily view.
is this really all it pulls through and shows in the health app?  The areas around steps etc seem quite detailed but the sleep data is pretty useless unless I'm missing something.
Also, is there any way to log other health related stats such as cholesterol which I know can't be done from any app but I have a full medical every year and would like to be able to manually input some of the outputs I get from that.
IS there any forum for feeding suggestions/requests to Apple or would it just rely on them monitoring these posts?
    thx
    David

The Health App really serves as a conduit between a variety of other apps that wouldn't ordinarily be able to talk to each other. The App Store has a section for apps that work with Health to be able to sync data.
You can submit feedback to Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
Don't stress to much if you can't find a section dedicated to Health. Pick something under "iPhone" and just make sure you explain it well.

  • Using Health app in iOS 8

Perhaps I'm missing something about how the "Health" app is supposed to work.
It seems to have the most odd data point categories, while leaving out many obvious ones.
For example, you're able to track your "Molybdenum" intake, but you can't keep track of when you had your last tetanus shot?
You can enter your "Electrodermal Activity" , but where do you enter what medications you take and whether you took them today?
Surely you can keep track of your medications with this thing, right?

As far as I know, it isn't set up for medications. I know there are other medical records types of apps to track that tho.
Heck, you can't even track water intake
They've missed a few things in this first iteration of the tools.

  • Health App Data Source Order With Apple Watch-

I discovered a very large difference between the number of steps counted by Health App and my other step tracking app Pacer.  Pacer was indicating I had 10,000 steps while HealthKit was reporting about 6000 steps.
I then realized this was happening because of the order my data sources were for steps.  The order was:
    Apple Watch
    iPhone
The problem is, the Apple watch does not track cycling as steps while the iPhone does.  Because of this, when the Apple Watch is first in the data source list for steps it doesn’t count those cycling “steps”.  I find this odd since Health App should be smart enough to merge the results; if the watch is reporting no steps and the iPhone is reporting 4000 steps, it should add the iPhone’s steps to the total.
But, if I go in and change the priority order to:
    iPhone
    Apple Watch
then, HealthKit reports the correct 10,000 steps.
The strange thing is, if I’m not carrying my iPhone and have my watch on, HealthKit does properly merge the watch's steps into Health App even though the Apple Watch is second on the priority list.
I’m  not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it’s important to make sure your data sources are in the correct order.  I’ve gone in and made sure my iPhone is in the first position on all my stats.

Today I did a full restore thanks to this post Health app has crashed, data gone. and some spare time to sit down and do it.
After re-adding the apps to share their data the Health app appears to be working as it was before for me. Hope this helps.

  • The Health app.

    Hi all,
I've started to use the iOS 8 from the GM version but the main problem still is.
    1. How can I turn of the steps counter? Is it possible?
    2. I can see number of steps I've done today, daily average, but I can't see the steps I've done in particular day. How to see number of steps two days ago(for example)?

    1. As I found out it's impossible. So the best way is put up with it.
    2. It's impossible in Health App too. But as ours steps are counting every day anyway, we can download any walking app, use m7 processor, and see steps count whenever we need. For example I've chosen Walker M7.

  • Health app and restarting day

so i get up pretty early every day, 4am. my health app doesn't seem
to restart the day. when I open my health app in the morning it gives me all of my data from yesterday.
how many steps I walked, etc. but doesn't show any of today's data? I noticed this happening yesterday too, but
i updated the iOS and the day reset and started recording my steps. Is there a certain time the day restarts?
I would assume it should be 12am, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I haven't had this issue before, any tips or suggestions as to why this is happening?

  • Health app double counting steps?

I have a Withings Pulse activity tracker and it is now synced with my phone and the Withings app to help track my steps throughout the day.  I've noticed that the Health app itself tracks my steps in intervals throughout the day and it seems the Withings app only syncs steps at midnight each night.  I'm wondering if I'm ultimately getting double-credit for steps every day or if Health somehow is able to cancel out its steps once it sees that steps sync in from another app.  I wish there was a way to turn off the internal step counter in iOS8 but I haven't found one yet.  Curious if anyone here has been experiencing this with other fitness bands/activity trackers?
    David

I am having the same issue as well. I don't have any activity tracker but I keep my phone on me at all times and use it as a tracker. It seems that withings app keeps track of the steps and so does the phone on its own.. If you allow withings app to to sync with health app to me it seems health app uses info from whatever iphone tracks than adds data from withings on top of it.. For examples woke up today and after hour or two withings app said I did about 330 steps. Which would make sense. However in the health app it's showing 670..... why allow other apps to use steps feature if you can't disable iPhone steps tracking, since it will only double up steps?. God forbid I give another app access to step counting. It will seem like I ran a marathon yet I nearly got off the sofa.

  • Is anyone having problems with the Health App and Withings?

After upgrading to ios 8.1 I am still having a problem getting my Withings Health Mate data to correctly update my Healt Dashboard. The information that does show up on the different Dashboard widgets is way off. For example, I today walked 2400 steps according to Withings, but the Health Dashboard shows 10,700 steps (720,000 in smaller print on another line). It further shows my daily average at 313,000 steps! Ridiculous.
Walking/Running distance for the days shows 22.5 miles with a daily average of 108 miles.....I'm not Barry Allen/The Flash.

My problems with the Healt App are all over the map. The information on Withings Health Mate is totally accurate, and updates immediately.  I have their scale (since 2011) and wireless blood pressure monitor. Also, I find the heart rate senson on the iPhone 6 to work well, every time.
This issue for me is with Apple's Health app. I get ridiculous readings on the Dashboards. For example, it shows my daily average in steps as 170,688, and miles walked at 80. Hardly! Additionally, the Dashbord widgets will disappear/reappear for no reason. I have tried switching the priority of data sources for the steps dashboard between Withings and my iPhone 6 (because it is indicated that the top source governs the dashboard info), to no avail.
Lastly, I don't know how to interpret the infomration on the individual dashboards. On the same line as the word "Steps" there is a number, i.e. 14,272 steps, and just under it the word "Today." However, when I switch from "Day," "Week,," "Month," and "Year," those number don't change. Below the word Today is a number (which changes all the time), and at the bottom of the widget, just above the month (October now) is the number 1,149,749. Nice.
I would like to get the Apple Watch next year, but if the Health App cannot be fixed I may not.

  • Re-pair Watch to iPhone has created 2 watches in Health App

I was having a setup issue with the Watch today so I decided to re-pair with the iPhone.  All good now but I've now got 2 watches listed as devices within my Health app.  One of the Watches says it's no longer paired with this iPhone whilst the other Watch device appears to be ok.  Is there a way to remove one of the Watches under Devices within the Health App?  I've tried everything I can think of short of reformatting the iPhone.
    Cheers

Same problem with the Garmin Connect app... In the Health app, there are 5 identical entries for number of steps every hour, so Health shows me with 5x the number of steps I've actually taken (according to the vivosmart and hence the Garmin Connect app). There are also multiple entries for active calories (although all showing being shared at 12:00am), also using Garmin Connect as the source... apparently, today I've exerted over 12,000 calories!
I've also got MyFitnessPal, and from what I can tell, it appears to be tracking correctly.

  • MyFitnessPal creating multiple identical data points in Health app.  Why?

I am using MyFitnessPal to sync with the Health app.  I logged my breakfast this morning using myfitnesspal.com which syncs with the MyFitnessPal app.  In many instances (carbohydrates, fat, protein, etc.) multiple data points were created with the exact same value (i.e. there were 6 data points saying 13g fat, adding up to 78g of fat so far today, which is wrong).
Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it?
I have an iPhone 5, using myfitnesspal.com and the MyFitnessPal app, which syncs to the Health app.
