Missing 2nd title bar in reader

We have over 100 pc's out my work.  They are all running Adobe 9.1.  When I access a website that has a link to a PDF on some of our machines it will bring up an address bar right below the windows address bar.  I can then click on this lower address bar and save the address as a link and email it to my cuatomer so he can view the same PDF.  On the other machinees this address bar is missing.  I have looked through all the address bar modifications and I cannot find out how to turn this featrue on or off.  Can anyone help?

While I still can not view the second screen capture without the "title/toolbar", I believe I understand now what you are referring to. The grey bar is Internet Explorer's address bar and has nothing to do with Reader. Here are a couple things to check:
1. Verify that the browser integration option in Reader is set to enable (Edit > Preferences > Internet)
2. Verify that IE options for tabs are set identically on all systems (Tools > Internet Options > Tabs - Settings)
I think you'll find some variances between the systems that display as you'd prefer and the systems that do not. Modifying a combination of either of these settings should produce the results you seek.
Let us know if this fixes your issue or not.

  • Title bar untitled via smb share

QuickTime 7.4.1 for Windows, downloaded and installed over an existing QuickTime installation.
Prior to update (unknown version, quick troubleshoot), Quicktime Player would play .mov files either 2x clicked from the desktop or from an smb share. Locally opened clips would display the text: filename.mov in the title bar which is a desired behavior. When the clip was opened from a share, the title bar would read: "Untitled", unless multiple Player windows were open: "Untitled 2" and so on. When the Player window was closed, a windows error would appear, and Quicktime Player had quit.
Updating allows for the opening and closing of files in the absence of error dialogs (cheers!). However the title bar still shows a variant of "Untitled" if the file is opened from a share.
Other PCs in the same environment display a SMB path in the title window, which would be dandy.
It gets silly showing this to clients. "I prefer the saturation of Untitled 4 to that of Untitled 9". and so on....
    Thanks for any information.
I'm looking to the samba logs shortly....
    -c.

I don't know anything about Samba servers but I do know QuickTime.
QuickTime Pro can add a "title" to any file so that title shows in the Player window instead of the default file name and extension.
To set a title open the file with QuickTime Pro and open the Movie Properties window. Under the "Annotations" tab you can enter a title and other useful information that travels with the file.
I'd bet it would work on your files.

  • NI Icon in title bar

Does anyone know how to remove or change the Icon on the left hand side of
    the title bar?

When building an application using labviews app builder, click on the App
settings tab and click the custom icon checkbox. Then point to an ico file
that contains both a 32x32 and a 16x16 icon. Labview will do the rest.
Icon editors are all over the web. Try looking at www.tucows.com or somewhere
    similar.

  • Mac OS 10.7.2, Apple Title Bars are there, Other Window Title bars missing.

I just purchased a new iMac yesterday. I have been downloading WoW with the Blizzard Launcher, I can see the Apple Title Bar on the Launcher Window (3 little circles and white bar). However I can't see the Blizzard Menu Bar, is there a way to recover this bar? I need it to turn off P2P and that is the only way. Thanks for the help!

I understand that, yet this is a Mac problem not a third party problem as it has happened to 3 different things. All of the software I have downloaded comes from very reputable companies from which thousands of people have used. I am not sure if you know but BLIZZARD aka WORLD OF WARCRAFT, has Millions of downloaders. So please if someone is asking for help, try to be civilized and give an informative answer, otherwise please don't post as you have just wasted my time and anyone else that could possibly have the same issue. And certainly don't rule out that the problem isn't OS X.
Has anyone else had the issue where the menu bar is missing icons/tabs? If you could provide some info as I am very new to Apple products (less than 24 hours of being an owner). Thanks again for any constructive feedback.

  • Safari 8.0 Title Bar missing?

I just updated to Yosemite 10.10.1 and got Safari 8.0 in the bargain.
It's working fine, except there are no title bars on the top of the page. At the very top, I have the RYG traffic light, and next to it my buttons and the search field, but the title bar, which should be above that and display the page title, is missing. There doesn't seem to be a preference or option for this. Am I missing something?
I can't believe Apple did away with something so useful (although their "improvements" aren't always an improvement), so I'm assuming there's something wrong and it's not just a new "feature"
    Thanks for any replies.

There are several things about the appearance of yosemite that I don't like, and I just started using it. Mainly the title bars of most applications are so blandly indistinguishable, when I want to click on a title bar and move a window, I often click on the wrong thing, often popping a different window to the top that I don't want...
Now when in Safari, I don't know where I am in within a site unless I click on the url box… Maybe there is a preference setting, so much to figure out.
As for your complaint, I think it is that you cannot see the complete descriptive title of the web page when several tabs are open. If you just place the mouse curser on the tab, and leave it there for a second or two (be patient!), the complete title appears in a pop up display box. If you move to another tab after that, usually the display box comes up without the 1-2 second delay. Usually, but not always. Usually, but not always? I'm still figuring some of this out. If you move on top the "x" close box, it eventually pops up an entirely different message, and sometimes when you get that, then it doesn't pop up the title even if you move off the box, you have to move completely off that tab and then back on again.
I've always hated the close box within the tab : When using tabs, if you want to view the web page that has a tab, then click on tab, EXCEPT don't click anywhere on the left part of the tab otherwise you might click on the previously invisible close box which then does the opposite of what you want, it closes the tab! It is a bit better in Firefox, but still bad design.
The descriptive title pop up thing worked in the old safari, at least in 6.2, also.
When only one tab is open, I'm not sure how to see the descriptive title at all, except go to the top menu bar and click on window, and look at what has the check mark? Time to experiment with preferences.     Grrr.

  • AOL TITLE BAR is missing

I have read some of the other questions and answers but I am not sure if this is a problem with so-called add-ons or not.
I no longer have a title bar at the top of the page when I open my browser in Safari. There is a brownish colored bar that has the three red yellow green buttons, apple, amazon, news and ebay. I have no arrow to go back a page, no window to type addresses, no google window. I have tried reloading several days now with no luck. I went into preferences and threw away all the cookies in there.
What are these darned add-ons and where did they come from?
A few days ago I noticed that when I clicked onto Safari, the top window would open with something that said www.myscreenname, com etc. I immediately figured that someone was trying to get my personal info so I logged onto Safari by typing in www.aol.com. This worked for two days but now as I said I no longer get the functioning window.
I have aol on my firefox browser and it is working perfectly, but I use Safari more frequently and I must be able to access my files, etc.
I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

    Hi:
I checked software update and I do have v10.4.11 now. I will change my profile now.
I followed the instructions for third party add-ons and this is what happened:
On Library in HD I found only an internet plug-in. None of the other three topics were in the HD folder. I pulled out the internet plug in from the HD folder and put it on the desktop.
Then I closed Safari and reopened it without the internet plug in. Still not title bar.
I then went to Go and opened my Home folder. Only the internet plug-in is in that folder also. When I tried to pull it out and place it on the desktop I got a window that said that a newer version of the internet plug-in was already in that location and asked if I wanted to replace it with the older internet plug in from the Home folder. I decided to leave it there until I talked with someone from this discussion board again.
Right now I have the internet plug in from the HD folder on my desktop and no further action. Thanks for your time.

  • Adobe Reader XI fullscreen mode now leaves title bar on Mac

Has anyone run into this problem? I just upgraded Adobe Reader X (for the Mac) to Reader XI. When I go into fullscreen mode or open a fullscreen document, a title bar is left at the top with the document title and the upper left buttons. This did not happen in versions IX or X; kinda defeats the purpose of the fullscreen mode for presentations. Is this a bug? Or a new "feature"? I'm still running Snow Leopard and haven't tried in 10.7 or 10.8.

I am having the very same problem!
Snow Leopard and the annoying title bar when in fullscreen.
Notice that it also shows the resize "handle" in the bottom right corner, which you can click and drag to resize the window.
So it actually is NOT a fullscreen view anymore.
I guess this has to do with Lion's OS fullscreen mode, but Adobe please correct this!!!
ADOBE, ARE YOU READING THIS? This title bar is an ISSUE!

  • Missing feature in Finder window's Title Bar-

    Hi there!
I don't know if this has already been posted; I've tried to make a search but it's a real pain.
I have upgraded my Macpro to Snow Leopard since a couple of months now, but I still miss an important feature that I used quiet A LOT in Leopard.
We all know if we have a window opened with Toolbar on in the Finder and ctrl-click (or cmd-click or RMB-click) on its Title Bar it drops down a menu showing all it's parent folders.
If you click on one of those, its content gets displayed in the already opened window.
Ok. Nice (well.. not that much).
In Leopard (not Snow) we had the option to cmd-click on one of the parent folders displayed in that menu and have it opened in a NEW window, with its original dimensions fitting its whole content.
    (THAT was "nice")!
Now, in Snow Leopard, this feature seems to be gone.
Ok... we have a brand new "Path bar" which behaves the same.
But it's ugly, occupies room in the window and... Oh well; I want that Leopard behavior back! :-)p
Does anyone know how can I have it back (aside from downgrading)?
What makes me think it's still possible to have it back, it's the fact that if I double-click a folder in a window, I can get it opened in a new window with that same behavior. And that if I ctrl-click (or cmd-click or RMB-click) on Safari's Window Title and then cmd-click on one of the items showing in the menu (which are parents folders of a site) I get the very same behavior I had in Leopard: it opens the parent folder in a NEW window (or tab, depending on your settings).
So, I'm guessing is something to change in the Finder preferences, but I just can't figure out where.
    TIA!
(What I wrote is always referred to windows with Toolbar visible; I know without Toolbar every folder opens in a new window, even the ones from the popup).

Hi, Don Archibald and thanks for your answer.
In the first part of my post I already said I was aware that "ctrl-click (or cmd-click or RMB-click)" would make the hierarchical dropmenu appear, both in SL and Leopard.
What differs is while in Leopard you could cmd-click on an item of the dropmenu and have it open in a new window, in SL it opens in the same window, no matter if you press cmd or not when clicking.
As for the "Always open folders in a new window", as it clearly states, that would make every folder (even "regular" ones - the ones not listed in the dropmenu) open in a new window, which is absolutely not what I want.
I want to be able to choose on the fly if a parent folder from the dropmenu, or a "regular" folder, should open in its own window or in the window I'm already in.
Just like I did under Leopard.
Thanks again for your interesting, anyways ;-)

  • CS4 menu and title bars missing

    Hello,
I have just upgraded to CS4 and am attempting to get acquainted with the new workspace options.  Is there a way to maximize a floating window in Standard Screen Mode without losing the menu and title bars?  I figured out how to drag images to CS4 and have them open as floating windows instead of tabs.  However, when I maximize one of the images/floating windows, the menu and title bars are left out and are not visible.  I would like to set the menu and title bars  so that all images appear beneath them whether they or maximized or minimized.
    Regards,
    Scott

Did you try the F10 key?

  • Reader 'minimises' pdfs to title bar

Often, after my mac has been in sleep mode, all or most of my open Adobe  Reader windows ‘minimise’ themselves to title bars, which then hide at  the bottom of my screen. I then have to ‘maximise’ them individually to  be able to view them again.
I am running Reader 9.4.4 on Mac OS X  10.6.7.
    Any help appreciated.

    pwillener,
    No - no Kaspersky.
This is something that Adobe should be able to duplicate. It happens on more than one VM using different antivirus software, Adobe Reader should be immune to that anyway, The problem, I surmise, is that Adobe has never done proper multi-monitor testing with different sized monitors. They are probably looking at the size of the last opened document and assume that that size will work on the main monitor. They also have to take into account the task bar area on the bottom of the main screen (in my case the leftmost monitor.) When there isn't room, they need to calculate positions form the top. This is likely just a multi-monitor bug / design issue.
    Thanks,
    Bob.

  • Title Bar Modern Apps Missing

For some reason the Title Bar disappeared when I moved my mouse on top of screen. Instead of the Title Bar shows up the mouse turns into a hand. When I Un-install the KB 9219355 update I was able to bring down the Modern App to close it, but I never get
back the Title Bar - that have the minimize and the X close button.

    Hi,
In fact,  after you install KB9219355, the Windows store app is like this:
The Minimize button, Close button, and taskbar are more available with your mouse.
This is normal behavior and the feature included in this Windows Update.
According to your description, it seems that you didn't install this update successfully.
Please check its status in View installed updates.
If it failed, please reinstall it for test.

  • Why do I have two title bars - one with the title of the page I'm looking at and another with the new orange drop down menu? Plus I can't get FF4 to save my tabs, even when I go to about:config, why is that?

I downloaded FF4, thinking that it would merely update from my previous installation, but all my tabs were gone. FF looks really weird - here is a link to a picture of it: http://tinypic.com/r/2mwdus4/7 - I have two title bars, my bookmarks toolbar is missing and the tabs are on the bottom. If I go to view => toolbars and click one of them, suddenly the second title bar (with the orange menu) disappers and my bookmarks toolbar comes back (even if I don't click on it in "view"). I can't get the browser to remember my tabs between sessions even though I set it to remember them in my settings. I even changed the browser.showQuitWarning to true in about:config, but it didn't work. What is going on?

  • LR3 to LR4:  Windows 7 Title Bar

Recently upgraded LR3 to LR4 on two machines.  On one computer Lightroom 4 catalog...shows in the Windows title bar.  On the other computer Lightroom 3 catalog…shows in the Windows title bar.  Is there something that I missed when performing the upgrade?

No I don't think so. Lr4 updates the Lr3 catalog the first time you opened Lr4. But updating the catalog does not mean that the name of the catalog file is changed.
So, if your Lr 3 catalog had been named "Lr 3" then the updated Lr 4 catalog would still be named "Lr 3" - although it is the Lr 4 catalog.
The name of the file is totally un-important, you can name the catalog file anything you want. What counts is the contents of the catalog file not its name.
Since you work in Lr 4 the catalog must be a Lr 4 catalog - even if its name is "Lr 3".
If this annoys you, you can change the file name in your OS (Mac Finder / Win Explorer). You should rename the catalog file and the preview file. After renaming the files double-click the catalog file and Lr 4 will  open with it.
BUT PLEASE - back up your catalog in a safe location before you proceed with renaming the catalog.
