Missing add-on Convert to pdf in IE10 and Adobe Acrobat XI

Hello,
I have Windows 8 with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed but I cannot find the internet explorer 10 "adds-on" (nor the icon on the IE bar) for the "Convert to pdf file" anymore.
I think the problem originated when I installed Creative Suite CS3 and it had Acrobat 8 in it. I installed it too fast and didn't realize it was included. It overtook some of the features of XI Pro, so I uninstalled Acrobat 8 and installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro again to see if the problem could get solved.
Worse. With both Acrobat 8 and XI installed I still saw the adds-on but they were "unavailable", or enabled but couldn't find the icon to use the function. Now I can't even find the Adds-on in the tools menu of IE to see if they could be enabled. They are simply not there anymore. This is the main feature that I use for my work and I would be grateful if someone would give me a hint or where to download the missing element.
Thank you very much.
Carmen

None in Adobe, either?
I guess this Forum is not very helpful to use.

In Internet Explorer 10, under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab, make sure that Enable Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off.

  • Hp convert to pdf license interferes with adobe acrobat x pro

Windows 7, Office 2010 with the HP Convert to PDF plugin.  Installed Adobe CS5.5 Jan 7, 2012, on this computer.  Everything worked fine.  Sometime later (last summer?) my CS5.5 Acrobat X Pro failed, symptom is that it hangs in a loop asking me to accept terms and conditions.  In Word, if click on addins, I find HP convert to PDF and also that its license has expired.  I think this is the reason that my CS5.5 Acrobat X Pro no longer works.  Can you pls tell me if you agree and how the heck I get my Adobe license back?

I renamed my PDF Complete folder so Word couldn't find it and now I can make pdfs in Word.  But I still have the endless demand to accept terms and conditions if I try to open Acrobat X Pro to  make a pdf.  Bizarre.

  • Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

Word 2013 uses its own pdf creator engine as far as I know. The step I performed were:
1 - In the save settings I told word to embed fonts (sorry for the language, I have the Italian client)
2 - Export from Word -> Save As -> .pdf adding also the table of contents/index
N.B. I cannot use PDF/A, and in any case it doesn't embed the font
A working solution is to use Acrobat XI to convert it or print with Adobe PDF printer, results:
    The problems are 2:
1 - It doesn't create any bookmark and doesn't create links from the table of images to the linked images
2 - Images, also with the preset "High Quality Printing" customized using "No compression", are really ugly and if you zoom a bit more than 100% they totally be s**t. It wasn't that way with PDF created by word.
In the end, or I find they way to open the pdf created by word and embedd the missing font, or I find a way to make Acrobat XI creating bookmarks from the word file.
    Suggestion?

    Hi meganl52100253,
With Acrobat X, you can save to Word and Excel format by choosing File > Save As. But saving to PowerPoint wasn't introduced until Acrobat XI.
You're welcome to try Acrobat if you'd like. You can download a free 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

    Hi Jim,
I just responded directly. Unfortunately the original PDF is from an old fax or scan. The random ink marks and blotches along with the runny font won't transfer the proper information from PDF to Word. The only thing I can recommend is to re-create the doc so you have a clean copy. As I offered - if you need a PDF of it after you have completed - I'd be happy to do that for you.
    Kind regards, Stacy

Yes, you can use the Acrobat SDK and/or the Adobe PDFLibrary for this purpose.

This regards Adobe Reader XI 11.0.07 and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.07 running on Win 7. Copying text in a text callout (to paste into a text callout in another pdf document (3 instances of Adobe open) sometimes (only sometimes) causes the program to crash, losing unsaved work. Windows Task Manager shows only a small percentage of cpu used and plenty of memory available. What is causing this?

This usually occurs if you use a browser that uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

    Hi Ricci,
Since when are you facing this issue? Did you tried system restore to a date before this problem occured.
Does acrobat stop working when you open this specific pdf file or with any pdf file that you open?

The printing of .pdf file from Project 2013 stops when the file name should be written. Project 2013 crashes. Does someone know what is wrong between Project 2013 and Adobe Acrobat 9?

The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into "End of Support" mid-year of 2013.
Acrobat 9 support of MS Project via PDFMaker stops with Office 2007.
For Office 2013 support you must use Acrobat XI (11.0.1) or newer.
    A good to have reference:

Acrobat Pro and Standard DC are what are currently available for purchase.
    Be well...

  • I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI

I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI
We have adobe acrobat 8 on another system that seems to work fine,  what elsedo we need to do to get this trial version to work properly.
We are able to get everything set up , sized, etc,  but when the actual process starts it is stating  "autocad not responding and it  just spins and never makes the actual final pdf.
Any help on this would be appreciated

It's probably a compatibility problem with the updated PDF libraries vs. you hopelessly old ACAD that can't be resolved. In any case, I'd consider it one of those things of trying to attack the problem on the wrong end. All major CAD programs have native PDF export these days and even ACAD has had since v2006 at least...

  • How to passw protect my pdf files generated by Adobe Acrobat?

I simply want to passw protect my pdf files generated by Adobe Acrobat. However the option as indicated by the helpdesk is not available in my pdf generator. I am working with apple? Can someone tell me how to pass protect my files?
Can some one help me out here?

    Hi josr,
You can password protect your files in Adobe Acrobat by choosing File > Properties when you have the PDF open, and clicking the Security tab. Here is a Help topic that goes into detail: Acrobat Help | Securing PDFs with passwords.
If you don't have Acrobat, you're welcome to give it a try! Feel free to download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
