Missing "additional" plug in

I had recently downloaded the extra plug ins for CS5, including HSBHSL with no difficulty. It appeared under filters>other as expected. However, CS5 subsequently crashed, giving me an error message 148:3. I deleted Preferences, reset and discovered CS5 was now opening faster than ever.
However, I discovered the installed additional plug ins were deleted after redoing Preferences. I tried redownloading but the HSBHSL plug in wasn't in the download. There is no way to specifically download that specific plug in and several repeat attmpts to download the package gave me the same results.
I'll certainly appreciate any ideas in solving this mystery.
Thanks, Arnold

Fantastic! That was the solution
. Thanks again.

  • Additional plug ins are required to display media but when I click the tab to install missing plugins why does it tell me there ar no suitable plugins to install.

    When I am on Amazon.com, a message appears that additional plug ins are required but when I click on button to "install missing" plug-ins, it tells me there are no suitable plugins. I have downloaded "FreePriceAlerts" and a bar usually appears and I believe whatever plug-in is missing is preventing this from showing. When I use IE I have no problem.

    Can you post a link to the page where you have that problem?

  • Additional Plug-Ins in Preferences

    In trying to solve a problem with missing ICC Profiles in Photoshop CS4, I was given bad advice to enter the following under the "Additional Plug-ins Folder in Photoshop Preferences": MacIntosh HD:Library: Printers: Epson:InkjetPrinter:PrintingModule.  I now want to remove the reference, but cannot find any way to remove it.  Any suggestions?  I would like to remove it, since I notice that Photoshop is crashing from time to time.  Do you think this could be the cause?

    Why don't you just delete it? put it in the trash, delete.
    Buko,
    It sounds like some moron tricked him into designating the Epson printer module as his additional plug-ins folder.  Unchecking that preference should undo that monumentally unwise move.
    A lot simpler than deleting the printer module and having to re-install the printer software from scratch.

  • When trying to download shockwave player I keep getting a message that an additional plug in is needed but it won't allow me to download it

    I am trying to update shockwave player, on firefox, thee bar does not come up asking me to allow only a bar comes up telling me i need an additional plug in to install but I am not able to download the plug in,

    Check your mac's Serial Number.
    Some people have problems with missing serial numbers on their Macs and that's the message you get when this happens.
    Click on the Apple at the top left of the screen, open "About this Mac" and click on "More Info". You should see a list with information about your Macbook Air. Check that on the Serial Number field you have your Mac's Serial. If you have "SystemSerial#" written instead then that's your problem.
    You can re-enter your serial number if you have a USB CD drive, it's not very straightforward but I can walk you through it if you need it.
    Cheers

  • Cannot download flash; additional plug-ins needed

    Operating system: Windows 7 (64-bit)
    Web browser: latest version of Firefox as of 8/17/2010
    Do no have any flash version; my computer is quite new and I haven't gotten around to installing it until now.
    When I attempt to install flash, I get a message that says "Additional plug-ins are required to view all media on this page" instead of the usual Firefox alert that says it prevented a download, with button to allow it. When I click "Install missing plug-ins" nothing happens. At all.
    What do I need to do to install flash?

    Do you mean Flash, or Flash Player - please clarify.
    The Flash Player installer for Firefox can be downloaded from http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

  • New to Mac, what plug-in/extension do I need for "missing Internet plug-in" message?

    I was trying to view a video while in Facebook and this message appeared under the video run arrow:  missing Internet plug-in" I'm using safari on OS 10.6.7 on an iMac. Went to the extensions gallery, but don't need anything there. Went to Safari-Preferences-Extensions and have no clue where to go next. Online searching for "correct" terminology yielded results that still don't answer my question. Are all extensions really plug-ins or are they two distinct categories of browser enhancements?

    ADDITIONAL INFO for my original question:
    I found the list of installed Plug-ins, but although it shows a list including Quick-Time Plug-ins that includes numerous mime video plug-ins, I was still not able to access the video content on Facebook.

    I will assume you are using a non-IE browser (e.g. Firefox). Assuming this is true, the problem you are seeing is the result of the configuraiton expecting to find 1.6.0_12. Look in formsweb.cfg for references to 1.6.0_12 and change them to the desired version. For example, replace the current with these in order to use 1.6.0_29:
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0029-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0_29
    jpi_codebase=http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.6.0/jinstall-6u29-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,6,0,29

    Thanks John for the suggestion.  I was finally able to dwonload the newest drivers today when I signed on.  Seems like if you let one day go by Software Update will look at your version of the driver and will finally let you download the newest.  That did not help.  Nothing but communication errors.  It would not even let me load the the new driver as it would no longer ever see the printer.
    Yesterday, for further explanation, I was working at the computer when I heard the printer chime a few times.  When I looked over the green light, which normally signals it is receiving a file to print, was flashing away.  I was doing nothing and I finally had to turn it off.  I spoke with another techie friend who is a big Mac user and has the same printer and he suggested it may be the USB circuit.  This printer has been on for 5 years with a few days off.  We have concluded the circuits are past their useful life and I will soon send the printer to be recycled somewhere.  A new printer is on the way as I need this device.
    Again, thank you for your suggestion and I will mark this solved due to mechanical failure.

  • Missing QuickTime Plug-in?

    Hi,
    I have noticed recently that when ever I play a QuickTime movie in Safari (I can tell when Safari uses the Flip4Mac plug in so whenever it isn't using the Flip4Mac plug in it is sing a QuickTime plug-in... I am assuming...) the video never appears, the audio is fine, but no video. Am I missing some plug-in from QuickTime or what?
    Thanks in advance!
    -thealexness

    Hi Tom & thelaxness
    webplugin seems to be shorthand for webkit-based-plugin which is a type of plugin useable by only webkit applications, ( like say, Safari & Shira & most Apple apps, but not Camino or Firefox for example..)
    Seems the webplugin offers some advantages in ease of programming/implementation, & for webkit apps could replace the standard 'netscape' type xxx.plugin type; but of course other mac browsers require the .plugin one, so sometimes both will be installed & seemingly can cause conflicts.
    I have both plugin & webplugin versions of QT now & get no problems, but have previously needed to remove a webplugin to get videos working ( wmv ones using Flip4mac I think )
