Missing address search option on Nokia 5800

Hi,
Just bought a 1 day licence to see how this app works. I was expecting some features to appear - they didn't.
I read the help and it says to go Options->Address Search but that option is not there. I have never been able to find an option to locate an address.
The maps software is at version 3.01 and the phone's firmare is 2. something - I ran the software updater and there's nothing more recent available to me.
Perhaps I can re-install it? If I remove it, where would I get another copy?

Your manual is outdated.
At the bottom of the screen (within Maps | Maps view) you should see a magnifying glass button. Just press and there is your search option.

Mail is missing a search option

I recently rebuilt my mail database (about 20GB, 23K msgs). The rebuild had failed on two previous occassions due to lack of disk space, but the third time it went through fine (cleared a lot of space). After the rebuild, the search function is missing the "Message Contains" option. When I type into the search box, all I get is "from and subject". Has anybody had this problem previously? Any help on how to resolve this issue is appreciated.

* In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
* Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
* Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

Adobe Reader: Missing Advanced Search Options

I am using Adobe Reader XI (probably Standard) and trying to perform regular expression searches. When I go to Advanced Search (Ctrl-Shift-F) and click "Show More Options" I would expect to see the following options in the "Return results containing:" drop-down list:
Match Exact Word or Phrase
Match Any of the Words
Match All of the Words
Boolean Query
The only two that appear are "Match Exact Word or Phrase" and "Match Any of the Words." The remaining two are not in the list. Without "Boolean Query" I cannot perform regular expression searches which is very helpful in filtering irrelevant results, especially in documents thousands of pages long.
Where are the other options?

Thought I had tried that, but went back and found it. So, Adobe assumes the only time I want/can/should perform a regular expression search is only when searching through and entire directory, and that there's no reason I should expect to do the same within a current document.
IMHO, that is utterly ridiculous.

OMA E-mail Notification - nokia 5800 - nokia email...

hi,
i have a problem using the e-mail notification from the automatic retrieval options for Nokia 5800. Again, it is not auto retrieval for messages or headers. It is a notification that it suppose to appear to my phone telling me "you've got mail" That does not happen even when i have new e-mails in my mailbox. Can any body help me? When i retrieve the messages, it ok, i receive them, but that s not the point. Maybe it is a gsm network provider issue? I use Vodafone in Romania.
Or, if this doesn't work, the Nokia Email software will be available for Nokia 5800 or already is?

i had the same problem. The thing is, the email notifications do not seem to do anything (?) . The solution is to activate e-mail recovery (for example every five minutes), this way you'll get the notifications of new e-mails. But the problem is that then it starts to download all the messages in your inbox (when it is enabled, you cant choose how many emails you want to retrieve from your mailbox). I use that for gmail (i only have about 200 mails -it works fine) but for my hotmail inbox it downloads the 2000 messages headers (only headers !) and the phone gets really really slow every time i open that mailbox (in messaging app).

Nokia 5800 Troubles and Suggestions.

I am sorry for my English, I am from Russia.
I have Nokia 5800, version 10.0.010 04/11/2008, User version 10.0.010.205.01, Language 05 (Russia).
Wearing has some errors:
1. In the built in Internet browser at mapping number from a floating point, the fractional part is not displayed. For example number 16.75 is displayed as 16. On the personal computer all displayed normally. If it is necessary, I can send a screen shot.
2. Photo the camera. The white balance in pictures is not correctly installed. The photo has shades yellow or blue. Basically it appears at shooting indoors and not depends, what lighting - natural/fluorescent lamp/heating lamp.
3. Customizations of the camera after an out from a shooting mode are not saved.
Suggestions:
1. The Camera. To make operative customization of balance white on a leaf of a white paper.
2. The Camera. To make saving of customizations of the camera and restoring to standard customizations.
4. Small lamp (lantern). To add the application "Lantern" on flash light-emitting diodes. Modes: to switch on/off and shine 1 minute.
5. Keyboard layout. Very often at text writing it is necessary to switch from Russian to English. Switching through the menu is not convenient. It is necessary to make switching in one click by the additional button on the virtual keyboard. For fast switching each user should set a “Set of Languages”.
6. To add the application allowing to store various notices in enciphered mode - passwords, codes, numbers of credit cards. For example application “HandySafePro_S60_Touch” .
Can You give me an e-mail address of software for NOKIA 5800 developers to transfer them this information?

Nokia Maps v.3.01 doesnt show my current location!! I have 5800XM, my old nokia maps (V2) showed my location on the map. and when i upgraded my firmwire to 31.0.008, this V3 maps came with it and it continued to show my old saved location which was saved last by maps v2 (faded red dot).!!!
help please...
google maps finds my location within seconds but nokia maps 3 cant.. horrible. is there any way to go back to maps v2?

Nokia 5800 XM Caller ID Display

Hi
I have a Nokia 5800 XM and have noticed that on the caller ID display, when making, receiving or whilst on the call, the display shows the Name and Number of the contact who is called/calling. Is there any way which I can change this so that the caller ID only displays the Name of the contact calling as opposed to both?
I've been though the settings, scanned through the user guide and can't find any reference to this...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I did not observe it in my earlier phones as in all, it must be set to display both...
I think, there is no such option on Nokia 5800 (shame!!!).. but you may try some 3rd party Caller ID applications which may give you what you want... just Google for it..

Nokia 5800 missing personal files on memory card

Good day everyone!
I have a problem with my new nokia 5800. A month ago, i lost some of my pictures, which are saved in my memory card. I just ignore it thinking that somebody from my frends just deleted it. After a week, all of the videos, which i took, were all missing.. I was so **bleep** of. A while ago, an application that i downloaded from the net was also lost.. Im so frustrated about this.. Please kindly help me on this one.

this seems to be a problem of a common virus as the 5800 is generally doing well except for some performance hogs.
@chan chan, there is absolutely no use when you use a PC antivirus to kill a 5800 symbian's virus. there are s60 antivirus out there, but i recommend you do a hard-reset of your phone by holding
"green" + "red" + "camera key"(full press) all simultaenously while powering on the device.do not leave the power key also till u see "NOKIA" on the screen.before doing this, remove the memory card from the phone and format it on the PC.after the phone starts factory-fresh, insert the formatted card.it should work fine now.also update to the latest v31 firmware.
remember to backup your contacts and other phone-memory data as hard reset wipes-clean all data, but do not use the "backup phone" option as it uses memory card.better sync contacts with other phone or PC

Nokia 5800 update 50.0.005 Find song is missing?

I've updated my phone to the latest firmware version,but now it seems that option to find a song is missing (you know if you open all songs and if you have about 1000 you want to search for the song that you want,but the *find*option is missing in the options menu) ??? Is it only me?or it supposed to be like that?

After upgrage to V50.0.005, i am not able to See music files those are available in V40.0.005. Though those are avialble in the music drive of the mobile but not able to retrive 2GB music files. I think the NOKIA testers and developers should do proper testing before release the product. Testers are either poor enough to raise internal bugs or not competant enough to work in the industry. how many times you people are doing sanity, performance, system testing for this firmware?i guess you you people are in a hurry. BUT why higher managements are not taking proper care of such kind of high issues raised by users?
This is really a poor stuffs as far as a SIX sigma company is concern.Send the latest update to solve all kind of issue at once. This is Too much ....

I noticed this, too, but found a "workaround" (until Nokia updates their firmware to include this function). USE the "Notes" APPLICATION, OPEN a “New Note”, then "touchpad" in the blank-lined area to start entering text. The default "mini QWERTY keyboard" will pop up (well, that's what I have set for my text input). In the lower right-hand corner of the "mini QWERTY keyboard" (also in the "Full Screen QWERTY keyboard" OR the "Handwriting keyboard", if you have either of these set for your default text input), there is a small image of a keyboard. When selected, a MENU pops up, allowing you to SELECT an option for an "ALPHANUMERIC KEYPAD" for text input into the "Notes" application. You can get the numerical correspondence for spelled-out phone numbers like 1-800-iLIKE-YOU (1-800-454-3968) [I don't know or care if that's a "real" number, I'm just using it here as an example] and can just remember them and input them manually into your “Dialer” application, or, you can “type” it directly into the blank “New Note” you already have open, SELECT and EDIT->COPY the number into the phone’s memory, then switch to the “Dialer” application (PRESS and HOLD the WHITE middle button on the lower touchpad until the "open items" display appears, allowing you to select the HOME or the previously-opened "Dialer" application), open the "Dialer" menu and EDIT->PASTE the previously-copied number into the “Dialer” application. Press the “Dial” function icon and the number will be appropriately dialed. Whew! It gets a little easier with practice, especially if you use the GREEN BUTTON on the lower left of the phone’s touchpad, HOLDING IT DOWN until the “Voice Command” application initiates, then say out loud “Notes”, and the phone will switch to the “Notes” application with relative ease, so you’re just a few seconds away from having a “real” alphanumeric keypad that can be used to “decode” those alphanumeric phone numbers many businesses advertise. Things I found are missing in nokia 5800 Express M...

Tsup guys, I`m having this new release of nokia s60 5th edition (Nokia 5800 Express Music) but since I bought it last month I`ve started discover some features are not working as I always used to see them to my previous handset (Nokia n73-1). At my previous nokia n73 when I`m on playing music that I`ve store in my handset and then the I receive the sms message its only makes a light beep sound even if I`m on profile that setted another alter tune for sms but in this nokia 5800 when sms comes in the middle of track playback its pause for a time from plyaing the song then start ring the current profile`s sms alter tune then keep on playing the track. On the side of adding sms recipients, if your forwading an sms to more than one person then you`ve started adding recipients by either searching or scrolling you might face some of the contacts doesn`t appear in your list after adding some others even if you do it by search contacts for typing the first alphabets of the recipients you are searching. So in order to get them you`ve to select OK then select the ADD RECIPIENTS again then you will find the contacts that were not seen before. Lastly, on the message writing. When I use the HANDWRITING style, I can write my things well but still up to know I`ve not yet find the area where I can erase the words that I`ve wrotes. Instead I`m supposed to change the keyboard type so as I can get the erease key. Can anybody help me to locate where can I find the erease key when I`m in mode of HANDWRITING style that uses a given special touch-screen pencil. I`m using it which means I`II keep discover many more things that seems these nokia have lack in this model & if there is anybody else found something please don`t hesitate to contribute here too. Search option missing from iWeb site after MobileMe transition

I'm assuming this is a residual bug from the transition to MobleMe, but I've just noticed that my site published with iWeb is missing the Search box on the home page. Just curious if anyone else has had this, or anyone has found a fix.
Tried republishing the site, but still no joy. Also tried viewing the site via the new MobleMe address as well (as opposed to old .Mac address), and it's missing there too.

Strange, my friend on the latest Firefox could not see the search bar, but when I asked her to load into Safari, the webpage loaded up fine (on a Powerbook). I then tried to load up the page on Safari with my Powerbook, but no dice.
I then booted up into Windows XP and tried viewing my webpage via IE 7, Firefox 3 AND Safari, and the search bar STILL does not show up. The search bar is not limited to Mac OS X and Safari (on a Mac) right?

Search option in tracklist/playlist in nokia 5310 ...

Hi,
I am having nokia 5310 xpress music.
I am looking for the search option in playlist. sometimes playlist is too long and you are looking for a particular song to be player then I need to scroll down the whole list to find the related song.
I am having nokia E51 also and I found that search option is there in that.
I dont think it has any dependency over s40 or s60. and it can be provided with just firmware update..
Please confirm and suggest.

If you disable the Search Entire Library option (available in the dropdown to the left of the search box) iTunes 12 will not show the search results in a dropdown but will immediately go to a filtered version of your current view. With the Search Entire Library option enabled, you can still get to this filtered view by clicking on the first entry in the drop down, which will say "Show <search string> in Library" or "Show <search string> in <playlist>" depending on where you start the search from.
There are some inconsistencies in the search behavior, most notably that where you have the Search Entire Library option enabled and search within a playlist the dropdown will show all matches in you complete library (whether in your playlist or not), whereas the first entry in the dropdown just takes you to the filtered playlist view.
You can use https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html to provide input to developers about bugs, enhancement requests, etc.

Title Search Option Missing on iPhone via Home Sharing

When accessing home shared media via my iPhone 5, the search option (to enter a movie title) is now missing. This occurred after the iOS 7 update. Is there another way to do a title search, or are there plans to add this option back? My apologies if this question is listed somewhere else in this tangled mess of discussion boards.

And when you be planning to get this feature in to the upgrades? I mean, I'm very dissapointed of the ipod all ready, the only thing that makes me still in love of the ipod is that beautiful big color screen, but I even think the disign of the 3th gen ipod was more beautiful that the new one.
I remember old days when the ipod came whit a lot of accesories on the box, like the remote control, the dock, 2 cases, Oh! and firewire! Now, it can't even have a funtion upgrade!! What's next? remove the earphones to? come on!
Hope, you guys on apple can inlcude the search funtion in future upgrades, oh and I know is to much to ask, but... may be if you can have back firewire conectivity, I'll love you!
