Missing adobe brushes presets folder in OSX

Hello All,
I was trying to install some brushes into the Brushes Preset folder but the only folders in the "Adobe Photoshop CS6" folder in the tree below doesn't have it. It's only a couple of random looking folders. Any thoughts as to where it might be? I'm running OS 10.7.5 and CS6. Thoughts?
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets/Brushes

The presets can go anywhere in the presets folder.
The subfolders are just for your organization.

  • Can't load tpl brush presets (CS5, Mac OSX 10.5)

    Hi all,
    I'm using Photshop CS5.1 on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) and don't seem to be able to load tpl files.
    I put the file in Photoshop's "presets -> tools" folder and tried to open it via the brush presets picker. When I browse for the file, only ABR files are shown, TPLs are greyed out.
    Any idea why this could be and what I could do to make the preset work?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Open them in the tool presets picker, the preset manager, double click them, or drag them to the application icon.

  • Load all brushes in brush preset folder at startup

    I'm wondering if this is possible or if there is a better solution for what I'm trying to do.
    What I need to do is have a central repository of brushes or brush sets. I'll create a symlink inside the brushes folder to a space in the local drive. When photoshop is launched, we have scripts in place that will download the newest version of the repository folder to that local drive. (the users do not have permissions for the program files brushes folder) Is there a way to have photoshop load all the brushes automatically without a user having to select a set of brushes and save them?
    I'm thinking also maybe there is a corresponding file that holds data for all the sets of brushes. Perhaps I could have a centralized version of this file that I could have downloaded.
    We are using photoshop cs5 on a windows environment.
    Thanks for any possible help!

    And here is the script to go with c.pfaffenbichler's suggestion.
    // first make a path to the folde where the brushes are stored
    // the user data folder does not need admin rights to read/write
    var USER_PRESETS_FOLDER =
        new Folder(Folder.userData + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/AdobeSystemFolder/Adobe=Adobe") + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/FolderNames/AdobePhotoshopProductVersionFolder") + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/FolderName/UserPresetsFolder/Presets=Presets"));
    var USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER =  new Folder( USER_PRESETS_FOLDER+"/Brushes" );
    if(USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER.exists){
        var brushFiles = USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER.getFiles('*.abr');
        for(var b = 0; b < brushFiles.length; b++ ) {
            app.load( brushFiles[b] );
    // app root does need admin rights to write files
    var APP_BRUSHES_FOLDER = new Folder(app.path+'/Presets/Brushes');
    var brushFiles = APP_BRUSHES_FOLDER.getFiles('*.abr');
    for(var b = 0; b < brushFiles.length; b++ ) {
            app.load( brushFiles[b] );

  • Can't find brushes sub folder in finder

    Hi everyone Im trying to clean up my presets in Photoshop CS5, I recently saved some brushes I created in photoshop and I clicked on the new folder button at the bottom to create a new folder called "My brushes" and I saved the brushes there, which was great as it created a separator line between my brushes and photoshops built in brushes keeping things neat and made looking for my brushes less confusing, as before it mixed them up alphabetically with the built in brushes in the pull down menu in the brushes panel.
    However now I cant find this "my brushes" folder or its contents anywhere except in photoshop, so I cant rename the folder, delete it or backup my brushes does anybody know where photoshop is hiding them ? any help greatly appreciated

    Im using Lion so the library folder was hidden by default in users, I thought Id enabled it in the terminal but must have been confused with the HD library folder. Ive enabled it now and all is well wish Adobe would default to saving in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop/presets folder and creating sub folders in this folder creates a line partition in the save load pull down menu, it would make it so much more simple and intuitive.
    Thanks for all your help much appreciated

  • Presets folder missing

  • Files missing from Adobe Applications support folder

    I now receive this message when starting Photoshop CC:  One or more files in the Adobe Applications Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.  After looking through some older posts on this, it looks like there is a way to just replace the missing folder.  I need help on what is the most current and best way to fix this problem.  I am running an iMac with OS X 10.8.5.  I did just uninstall CS4 from my machine this morning.  I am not sure if this plays a roll.

    You said there was an error (indicating missing files and that you need to reinstall), then you say it crashes.  Well, which is it?  And if there is a crash, what does the detailed crash report say?

    You can try removing it from Add/Remove programs or try using the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool

  • Photoshop CC Brush presets missing

    When I try to load preset brushes in PS CC, none of the sets (.ABR) that are in the presets folder show up. Why?

    Are you using Edit > Presets > Preset Manager ?       If so, do you see the brush icons there?
    Does the same problem happen when you try to load Custom Shapes ?

  • Is it possible to export brush presets from Lightroom 4?

    Hello all,
    Is it possible to export brush presets from Lightroom 4?  I created custom brush presets on my laptop and I would like to export them and import them onto my desktop if at all possible.  Did a bit of research online and could only find this link which only applies to 'Presets' in general, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/lightroom/using/WS2A36C507-E076-4b14-AAC3-87852595D175.html.  Please let me know if this is possible or not as this would be a great time saver.
    Thank you!

    Brush Presets are stored in the "Local Adjustment Presets" sub-folder within the Lightroom settings folder structure. The location of the latter varies by Operating System, or if you have "Store Presets with Catalog" checked in your Lightroom Preferences (Presets Tab)....easiest way to locate them is go to that Presets Tab on the Preferences dialog and click on "Show Lightroom Presets Folder"....that will open a Finder/Explorter window with the Lightroom folder showing. Open that folder, find the Local Adjustment Presets sub-folder and copy the brush preset .lrtemplate files to your desktop. Repeat the process on the desktop to locate the Local Adjustment Presets sub-folder, then simply copy the brush presets into it. They should then show up in Lightroom on the desktop (you may need to restart Lightroom first).

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Multiple Brush Preset Import

    Hi there,
    I assumed that simply copying my brushes to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Presets\Brushes would mean that these files would now be available to me. However, this is not working for me. Am I copying my brushes to the incorrect location? When I open up the Brush chooser panel, only the default brush sets are available.
    Now, I can add brushes in the preset manager, but this only lets me add one set at a time and does not organize them for me into sets. There must be a better way to do this.
    I'm on Win7 btw.
    Thanks.

    Copying them to the presets folder means they are available to load, it doesn't mean that they'll all get loaded at once!
    Just use the menu on any of the brush pickers, the preset manager, or the brushes palette to load those files.

  • All pressure sensitive brush presets gone!

    I work with Ps Creative Suite 6.
    Suddenly all the pressure sensitive brush presets are gone- leaving me with only hard brushes that produce 1-size-only brush strokes.
    No matter what brush I choose, I can't manage to make them pressure sensitive now.
    These (red arrows) are the brush presets which are now gone:
    This is what is now left:
    Can anyone tell me why they vanished for no apparent reason?
    I work with those brushes 97% of the time, I really need them back!
    Thank you!

    For some reason I am thinking that you missed the word 'Luke' from the end of that sentance.

  • Duotone presets folder empty

    In the Scott Kelby book on CS3 for digital photographers, in the section on quadtoning he describes duotone presets that are supposed to already loaded in the presets folder. On My CS3 extended, the presets folder is empty. Is this something that I need an update for? Otherwise what am I missing.

    It's a CS3 bug. CS3 took you to the wrong location. Click load; then navigate to Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets.

  • Help finding plug in presets folder....

    I installed a au lfo plug in earlier and every time I open it it says missing presets folder.
    Im not sure where to put the presets folder that I have for it though....Do you guys know the path for that?

    No idea, but apparently yesterday's 10.6.2 update fixes several issues in relation to Adobe apps, so definitely run it and then re-install everything, making good use of the CS3 and CS4 Clean Utility, respectively. The only thing I could imagine is something to do with teh install order and what other Adobe products you may be trying to install, but you have to provide more info about your exact procedures to figure that out....
