I've made 2 in app purchase with a total of $64 plus tax, however, the purchases that I've made didn't give me the in app goods but when I checked my account, the money has been deducted. I've also checked itune and it sent me the receipts but there was no invoice number. Is there any way for me to check where did the money go, what had happened to the transaction, and if I can get a refund from apple

Sometimes, you need to enter Credit Card info, even if you are using account balence. Make sure you sign-in to your account on the mac app store, or enter your Apple ID in System Preferences under Users and Groups.
Also make sure you have redeemed that code.

Ken,
kenak99709 is the Alias of the Discussions account that you are currently posting with.
If you had to have created a new account, you would not have been able to choose that Alias, as Discussions will only allow one member to have a unique Alias.
Either I am not understanding your dilemma, or possibly you have not explained the situation in full.

As far as I'm aware iTunes always charges the account balance first and when this expires charges any remaining amount to your credit/debit card. The one exception I am aware of (though there could be others) is that Apps purchased from the Canadian store must always be charged to a card rather than a gift card voucher balance due to local legislation.

I just realized that I wrote that I installed from app store originally, but I must correct that statement. I never paid for the app so it must have come preinstalled on my 2011 iMac. I was confused since the update is through the store so I assumed I downloaded it. Sorry for any miscommunication.
So to be clear, even though I have never remotely administered / accessed my computer and I no longer have ARD on my computer, it is normal to have the client update appear in my App Store. Is that correct?

If you are talking about items that you have purchased from the iTunes Store or App Store being deducted from your credit balance in your iTunes account, then providing there is enough to meet the whole of the cost of these items, then it should always be deducted from your credit balance before your credit card.

Hi Wyliepepper,
I'm guessing this is happening when you are updating Apps? If so, the reason is because Apps are tied forever to the AppleID they were purchased under. So, you will always have to enter the password for your old ID to update them.
I would suggest that you go into that old ID and change the password to match the password on your new ID. That way, it won't matter which ID is asking for a password, you just type in the same thing.
