  • This restored my missing apps after belle update (...

I see a few people with missing Apps after installing Belle, so as I seem to have stumbled upon a solution I thought I'd post it to help a few people out.
I removed my memory card and then reran the Belle installation process from Nokia Suite.
All the apps that were missing after the several previous times I ran the update, are now on my phone.
Hope this works for a few other people too!

this was the obvious first thing I did. It did not work for me.

  • How to restore missing apps after a itunes sync?

    Have iPhone 4   iOS 4.2.8
To install an app (Skype), my phone recommended I do it thru iTunes 10.5.2 (via usb tether)
Checked the sync box, selected the Skype app after I downloaded it in iTunes.
The sync process went thru a bunch of 'finding, removing, backing up' of my installed APPs.
When it was done, all my installed APPs were gone from my iPhone.
Tried doing the 'Restore' function, I believe.
That went thru some dialogs, but still no APPs were restored to my iPhone.
Some blogs say to use the 'Purchased' icon in the APP STORE app on the iPhone; there is no 'Purchased' icon. (there used to be, but not now)
Prior to Sycing I had more than 15 updates to install. I no longer have any updates, as the apps are gone I suppose.
Is there a back up of my iPhone APPS on my computer? The dialogs that were running and identifying the APPs that I have instaleld leads me to believe that iTunes was making a backup ,and that everything was fine.
    Where are my APPs?
    Thanks!

When, if ever, was the last time you synced your phone with that computer? It sounds to me like you either set up a new sync relationship with a computer other than the one you normally sync to, or you set up a sync relationship for the first time since you got your phone. In either case, you apparently did not read the warning dialogs that popped up telling you that your phone would be erased and the contents would be replaced with what was in iTunes on the computer.
You're going to have to re-download the apps that you're missing now. It's easiest to do this from the computer (especially now that you have a sync relationship established).
On the phone, open the app store. Click on updates. Click on purchased. Select "Not on This iPhone" and donwload the ones you want.

  • Status of iPad 1 IOS 5 apps after IOS 6 released?

Will Apple maintain a separate library of apps for the iPad 1 on IOS 5 after IOS 6 is released?  I see a lot of discussion related to it will be ok for iPad 1 users after IOS 6 is released. I also see Apple continuing to sell reconditioned iPad 1 s for over $500.
If Apple does not maintain a separate archive library of IOS 5 comparible apps, then users of reconditioned iPads or 2nd hand purchases will lose the ability to download most useful iPad apps within 6 months to a year as the developers will be contuning to update to IOS 6 features.
If Apple maintains a separate archive store/library, there will continue to be a place to get apps for 2nd hand iPad 1s.  Without this library, the iPad will become a resellers boat anchor very quickly.  The iPad 1 continues to be a great product for many people.  I, for one, hope Apple maintains a library so that the new Lifecycle does not become 2 years.
An archive for ios5 apps could become a new Apple best practice.
What do you think? If anyone has links to more details on ow Apple plans to support iPad 1s, please let me know. I for 1 still like 1.

I imagine that the majority of apps will maintain compatibility for quite some time. It took a while for developers to drop support for iOS 3.X after iOS 4 was released, and some apps still offer support that far back. Obviously there are some hardware features of the newer iPads (more RAM, for instance) that are simply missing from the original iPad, so you can't expect developers' progress to halt. Still, I'd say that you still have a while to go before the original iPad is obsolete. (By the way, I own an original iPad and love it, it still does everything I need)
If you're truly concerned, you could of course back up to a computer to ensure that regardless of what happens, you can always restore your currently loaded apps in the future.

  • TS1702 No longer able to sign into a free app after iOS 7 and the app (password books) is no longer available

I am unable to sign-in to the Password Books App after installing IOS 7 and the app is no longer in iTunes , published by Razor Apps, LLC, have all my passwords in this app.

WORKAROUND: In iTunes, select the podcast files and hit CMD-I (show info). Set the genre to something other than "Podcast", and in the Options tab, set the Media Type to Music. You can do this to the files that are on your iPhone. If you do this to the files on your computer, they will no longer show up as Podcasts - they'll be mixed in with music files in your library. You can then put these podcasts into playlists on the iPhone, and they'll show up on the phone once it's disconnected. You might need to fool around with this a bit - try it more than once, etc. - I had some podcasts not show up on the iPhone until after a SECOND connect-and-disconnect operation with the computer. Others here might do some experimenting and figure out a smoother set of instructions that will always work - but this is a starting point.
Note that I ALWAYS "manage music and video files manually" - I NEVER "sync" music and video. Your mileage may vary.
Apple - please listen: The handling of podcasts in iOS 7 is not a feature, it's a bug. As you can tell from the comments here, MANY people need to manage podcasts as if they were music files (and sometimes, THEY ARE!!!!). The arbitrary decision to treat podcasts differently is WRONG - an audio file is an audio file. I don't need to buy one TV to watch sports and one TV to watch news - because video is video. Get it? If you want to provide a Podcasts app, that's fine, and anyone who wants to use it can do so. But don't RUIN the previous, excellent functionality that we had before, when it's completely unnecessary and a colossal pain (not to mention insult) to your customers. And in some cases, it's a serious driving safety issue.
I'll be watching this space to see if others can refine the basic workaround that I've found.
UPDATE: It appears that changing the genre is unnecessary, only the "Media Type". It's probably best to do this only to the copies on the iPhone, so the files in your computer's library are not altered.

  • Missing Apps after System restore

Yesterday I did a System Restore on my iPhone 3Gs and now all of my Apps are missing. After this I tried to do a Restore from backup again but I still have the same problem.
I don't have Sync Apps ticked in iTunes as if I do it will sync all apps and there is a mix of iPad and iPhone apps there. For some Apps there are separate iPad and iPhone versions and I'm not sure if this will cause any problems.
Is there a way to have the apps restored to the same folders they were in before? I know I can sync selected apps from iTunes but I spent a lot of time organising all of my apps into folders and I'm hoping to avoid having to do that again. When I tick "Sync Apps" but before actually going ahead iTunes shows 10 screens of Apps and none are in folders as they were before.
I thought that doing a restore from a backup that I did just before the restore would have restored the phone exactly as I had it before.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

No iTunes content including 3rd party apps are included with your iPhone's backup. If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes along with the apps selected below that you want available on your iPhone - which can be placed in folders with iTunes followed by a sync, iTunes does not know which apps you had installed on your iPhone. With Sync Apps selected along with the apps in your chosen folders, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone will be restored in this regard. After restoring as a new iPhone or from the backup, this must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content including 3rd party apps to your iPhone. What is selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences will be pre-selected prior to the initial sync with iTunes after the restore, and the apps will be transferred back to the same folders as before. Your mistake in this process was not having Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab. With this selected, after downloading an app direct with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If there is an iPad only app that you select to be transferred to your iPhone, a warning message will be provided with the following sync indicating the app cannot be installed on your iPhone. You can create your app folders with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • IPad 2 won't install apps after ios 5 update

after iOS 5 install, apps are getting "hung up" in the waiting stage

Try restarting your iPad or resetting it and see if that helps. Restart first.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Loss of sound in some apps after iOS 5 update....

ABC Player works fine, trailers app has no sound neither does where's my water game? Have verified it's not the mute/orientation switch on the side! Anybody else had tis issue and if so is there a fix?

I'm also experiencing this problem on my iPad2.  Music and sound effects otherwise work in other apps, but no sound plays in the Where's My Water app after the iOS5 install.

  • Missing some built in apps after iOS 5 upgrade on iPad2

I upgraded to iOS 5 on my iPad 2 wifi/3G.  IMessage is missing from desktop but is shown in Settings and is turned On. Reminders is in the tray and I can't figure out how to get it to the desktop.

I've been at this for nearly a week. After upgrading iTunes, I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5 without a problem.  Then did my iPad.  At first, the bar indicating free space in iTunes showed that 'over capacity' yellow 'other' section.  Found an entry that said click and unclick the choices on the Summary screen.  Did that.  Sync'd.  Yellow gone.  Sync started.  Yahoo! But that was short lived.  After the sync, no apps, no music, no videos were on the iPad...but, and here's the strange part...the bar showing capacity shows they are there.  iTunes say they are on the iPad but the iPad does not show them.  And when I connect my iPad to the PC and the file folder of what is on the iPad apprears, it shows much more space (the actual space) available on the iPad confirming that the apps, music, and videos were not sync'd.  I've tried unclicking everything and syncing, click one, two, three, each with syncs....no luck.  If anyone has any suggestions (short of using my iPad as a doorstop...oh wait, too thin for that!) I'm listening.
    Really...any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Missing apps after updated IOS 6.0

I have my phone backed up to icloud. Today I put the new update ios 6.0 and now my apps are missing.  I can see them in ituned but cannot sync them.

First disconnect the phone from the computer.
Check settings > general > restrictions > turn on "installing apps". Turn off "Deleting Apps".
Reconnect the phone and allow itunes to connect. Go to your apps page.
The apps in itunes should not look greyed out anymore. Should be able to sync now.

  • HT201210 missing apps after download of ios 7

I am missing some apps from the IOS 7 update.  How do i recover if they were not sync'd to my computer?

That content could be saved in your backup. You could also transfer the purchases to iTunes from the phone. If you make a backup before you installed iOS 7, you could restore to that backup. Remember though, that anything done since that backup would  be lost.

  • Bounce Apps after iOS Update

I'm using iPhone 5s with 32G and there is 7G free space.  After update iOS 7.1.2 at early July, the phone occasionally turned to blue screen during viewing photos or switching between apps or scrolling the screen, and back to the home screen in a while.  The situation has got worse these 2 days.  Apps bounced when the phone activated in 15 mins or less.  Blue screen, Apple logo, and then go to black screen most time.  Sometimes remind me to reset touch ID after the phone has hung.  Reboot the phone cannot help the case.
I used several hours for back up to PC/iCloud and restored the phone.  Blue screen appeared again in less than 15 mins after the restoration completed.  Some apps could not restore in the phone as they were not back up (no idea why not all apps back up to PC via iTunes??).  iTunes showed no back up was made in iCloud.  But iPhone showed there's one in "Storage and Backup" and the data is restored actually.  It's confusing.
Could anyone help?  Or waiting for next update to fix the bug??

    Thanks for the reply.
Bug type 110 and 115 were found in "Diagnostics & Usage".  I think many diagnostics reports disappeared when the apps/screen bounced to blue and the phone restart.
I restored the phone from iTunes Backup, not as Set Up as New Phone.  What's the difference between set up as new and from iTunes backup?  If "Set Up as New Phone" is used, can I restore the backup, or all data will be lost?

  • Missing apps after reinstallation

    Hi,
I reinstalled the Nokia Belle on N8 after there was some space issue based on recomnedation from Customer support i am missing Need for speed application. I checked in Nokia Ovi store app i can find it , if i restore my backup i will still be having space issue on C i think. any suggestions are welcome.
    Regards
    K.R
    KR

If you mean Need For Speed tha comes pre-loaded with N8-00,
and you lost it after the belle update, then its pretty Normal.
Suggestions(as you said): If you backed up via Nokia Suite then there are 100% chances that you will face the same space issues again.
To avoid these, Restore the BackUp you took.
Then connect you phone in Mass Storage mode & manually move all the files in your PC. from E:/ & F:/ both.
Now! do a hart reset & also format your Mass memory & memory card.
This will clean up all your space.
Now again connect phone in Mass storage mode.
And manually move your back-up files in your phone from PC.
NOTE: Do not move folder's like - cities, data, i18n, Nokia_Belle, tmp, logs, private etc.
As these are used by Built-in Apps & other 3rd party apps. So no need to backup those folders, as they will be auto created when you start installing fresh apps.
Always install apps, games, themes In your Mass memory or Memory card.
Always reserve C:/ for Nokia apps only.
In Love with Nokia, Symbian & N8-00
