Missing artwork placeholders

Having imported my CD collection into iTunes, I find that some of them have no placeholders for the artwork. This means that the artwork doesn't show up in Screenflow,or against the album. I can import artwork to the tracks by using 'Getinfo' but that just shows the artwork against each track and not the album overall. It's annoying. Anybody know why this is, or better still, how to cure it?

right, from what i have worked out any images that itunes finds for you sometimes doesn't transfer over to the iphone for whatever reason so for these songs/albums just download your own image which you can find easily on google.
For multiple songs in the same album image if you've used your own image it won't apply to all the songs in the album, so highlight all the songs in this album then right click and go to 'get info', on the info page double click on the 'artwork' box and select the image you want to use. This will apply your image to multiple songs without the need to do each individual song. Believe me saves a lot of agro.
hope this helps everyone

  • ITunes 12: Can't Add Album Artwork; Missing Artwork Too

I've been trying to add a 622X621 JPEG image to iTunes following the usual steps. (Using the Add Artwork button under Get Info and copy/paste artwork in the artwork window under Get Info.) No matter what I try it simply won't appear in iTunes.
I'm also missing artwork for a fair number of albums that should be there but isn't...
I tried deleting the Artwork cache so iTunes would rebuild it but still No Joy.
I've read Apple support files, advice by the iTunes Guy at MacWorld and other websites that detail the steps for adding artwork. This should be easy to do...!
    I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26 Mavericks 10.9.5.

I assume that you have a few WAV-files. If so, you need to convert your WAV files into MP3 or (if you want to keep lossless formats) into a format like aiff.

  • Front Row missing artwork issue

    Hello everyone,
Here is what i've experienced with missing artwork in front row.
2 albums of my collection refused to display their artwork in front row (these artworks were displaying perfectly fine in itunes, coverflow, finder songs icons and ipods off course).
After trying different things like deleting & replacing artwork, changing size of picture, and so on, nothing changed so i felt really disappointed...
...until....I remembered that i have created an itunes music store "wishing list", with 2 songs of these 2 albums. After deleting these 2 songs from the "wishing list" playlist, everything is back to normal, and front row display correctly the artwork..
thank you for reading, and hope it will help some of you.

This issue is still not solved in X.6.6,...
By the way, no one has bothered answering to this topic. I'm saying sending feedback to Apple is a good idea, but that is the only way I could figure. Any other ideas from your side?
Has anyone sent feedback to Apple? If not, please give their dev team some feedback about this issue.
    Thanks. Comments appreciated.

  • How do I get a list of tracks with missing artwork?

On a mac with itunes 9.02. I have about 15,000 tracks and about 5% have missing artwork
The get album artwork on the advanced menu doesn't seem to do anything. I found a site which says that this menu option lists all the missing artwork, but it doesn't do it on mine.
    Any help?

This script will survey the selected tracks or the selected Playlist for tracks without any artwork and copy them to a new discrete Playlist. Requires iTunes 7 or better.

  • Missing Artwork tab in Get Info?

Recently I've noticed more and more files that don't have the Artwork tab when you go into the info.  I like keeping everything organized with DVD artwork, but I can't figure out why it's just some files and not others.  If I select multiple files, I can set the artwork that way, so my workaround is to set the artwork on the problem file along with one that does have the artwork tab, then I go back into the "good" one and use Get Info to set that one back to its actual artwork.
    Any ideas?

    Solution
    1) remove the Cache, Download, and Local directories in c:/My Documents/My Music/iTunes/Album Artwork/ then restart iTunes.
2)Next allow iTunes to load all the artwork from the songs in your library.
3)Fix any with missing artwork if you so desire
4)Turn off artwork in music tab, sync, turn on artwork, sync (optimizes album artwork for all songs)

  • Missing Artwork in iTunes & iPhone-Adding

For use with my new iPhone I purchased a new UMPC computer, i.e., Samsung Ultra Q1. Transferred music collection from my windows laptop, approximately 450 songs, 91 Albums. Installed iTunes 7.3.0.54. Added music folder to iTunes and iTunes converted the music as most were in WMA format. Synched iPhone and with the exception of missing artwork iPhone music looks fine.
    A. One Album has artwork in iTunes but did not transfer over to iPhone. Any ideas what I should do?
    B. Out of 96 albums 43 need to get Artwork. Tried having iTunes search/get but it was unable to find. From reviewing forums looks like I need to add manually. I have found the artwork in the respective music/cd folder on the original/source laptop. Looks like there is a large JPG and small JPG for the artwork, which one should I use to add to track/album manually. I assume once I get all the artwork on the albums in iTunes it will transfer over to my iPhone on the next sync.
    Thanks
    Kris

    Hey Kristopherk07,
The smaller version of the artwork or thumbnail was probabbly being used by your other music application, I would use the larger version though.

  • HT1689 I have downloaded missing artwork via Google images onto i-tunes but when I then connect my i-phone, how can I get the artwork to transfer across to the i-phone?

I have downloaded missing artwork, using Google images, into i-tunes.  I expected this to be automatically transferred to my i-phone when I connected it but nothing happened, How can I transfer the artwork into my i-phone?

    Try a reset ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Playlist of songs missing artwork

Not sure how to word this correctly, but is there anyway of making a playlist of songs that have missing artwork?  I don't want a program that will find them and automatically add it from amazon or iTunes, but would just like a list of what songs are missing the artwork, then be able to put it in on my own.  I know there is a program that used to do this - but new computer and forgot what the program was called... Any help would be greatly appreciated - [email protected]

Well, I am not sure if there's a way to only view the songs that are on your ipod inside iTunes but, I know that if you bought them on the iPod that iTunes creates a playlist of only songs that you bought on that device. Another thing you can do, is command click on each song that you want to add to a play list and it will drag all the selected songs into that play list, then, what you can do is, go to File, Library, Export Play List, and select the play list that has only the songs you want. It should give you a .xml file, which you can then store on an external hard drive. Later, if you need to add that play list, you can go to File, Library, Import Play List, and select the play list you made. Hope that helps.
Ps. Command clicking on files, allows you to select more than one at a time. And Shift click allows you to select all the files under or above a certain file, up to a certain point. Like if you have, files 1-5, you can Shift click on file 1 and file 5 and it will select files 1-5 for you.

  • Restored iTunes Library from backup, but Missing Artwork

    Hello
I had to reinstall iTunes 8. Fortunately, I had a clone of my HDD from just the day before. After the iTunes reinstallation, I replaced the iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library.xml files with my back up versions. Once I opened iTunes it took its time rebuilding the Library with the result being my ratings, play counts, and lyrics all where they were supposed to be. I am happy!
However, while that metadata was good, I noticed that I was missing artwork for a lot of the music files. It so happens that artwork was present in the iTunes Store purchased music, and in the files that had the artwork embedded via drag and drop (i.e., art was part of actual song file). On the other hand, every file that originally had images via Get Album Artwork was not referencing the Album Artwork folder (i.e., art not part of actual song file but referenced .itc files). So, no artwork.
How do I get that artwork back? All the images are still in the Album Artwork folder, restored from my backup, but I cannot find a way to make itunes reference them again! Why does the Library.xml restore all the iTunes-specific information for a track except the artwork?
Why do I not just use the Get Album Artwork feature again, you may be thinking? Because for most of the songs iTunes had the ID3 tag info wrong. After importing the music and matching the track names to iTunes Store to grab the artwork, I modified the ID3 info to more correctly reflect the artist, album, and track names. To rename the files to match iTunes Store, and then name them back to how I like them will take days.
So.. am I out of luck? Is there a way to actually backup iTunes information so that songs keep their references to the .itc files in the Album Artwork folder?
I thank you for your time reading this.
    cheers!

  • Why am I missing artwork only and exactly for the albums I downloaded from the iTunes Store when I then sync them from PC (non-Mac) to my iPhone??

Why am I missing artwork only and exactly for the albums I downloaded from the iTunes Store when I then sync them from PC (non-Mac) to my iPhone??
And why can I not find a way to post this message to Apple Support without paying 35 Euros?

    Thanks, randers4,
I don't do auto-sync. Too much music on my PC for that. I manually copy and/or delete.
And I did delete the iTunes-acquired albums from the phone and then copied them back on:
    No change...

  • Missing artwork, artwork not modifiable

After I subscribed to iTunes Match last night, many of my albums were missing artwork. I was going to just drag new artwork in, but the box says "artwork not modifiable". Any suggestions?

Try this. I made this video after my artwork wasnt showing up either.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igffr3SXtiI&feature=g-upl&context=G28dd763AUAAAAA AAFAA

  • Missing artwork search

How can I search for all my missing artwork?

    Difficult one this ...
Apart from the usual things that you will read about, there is no hard and fast answer.
The only one that worked for me was to wait until there was a new moon, then I had to place my Mac in the direction of Cupertino with the wind coming from an Easterly direction. At moonrise you need to place a freshly sacrificed Network Engineer's entrails on the keyboard as you send a beseeching email to the great nutters in the sky who wrote the iTunes box of spells.
Seriously though, I have done virtually every alleged fix that there is and there is nothing that absolutely works and stays stable. iTunes Incantation 11 seems to have gone off the rails and is heading into some kind of obscure black hole.

  • How can i get all the missing artwork after transferring my library

Help i'm missing a load of artwork after transferring  itunes library from old widows laptop to new imac. I have tried getting album artwork from the advanced menu but it hasn't found all of it only 70 album artwork out of 190 is showing!!!!! been trying for three days to transfer and get it all but to no avail Help!!!!!!!!!!

You need to transfer your iTunes library, not just the media.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your old computer to /Music/ on the new computer.
Inside this folder, rename the iTunes library.itl file to iTunes library.
    Launch iTunes.

  • After iOS 8.0.2 update, I have missing artwork in Videos app

I have an iPad mini w/Retina, 128Gb model. I upgraded the iOS version to 8.0.2. Custom artwork created for certain movies is now missing from within the Videos App. I have taken a single video file and re-associated the .jpg image file to the movie from within iTunes 11.4. When I view the movie file in iTunes, the image displays correctly. When synced to my iPad mini, however, the movie has a generic grey image with the title displayed diagonally across the icon. The movie will play correctly, however. When in the Settings app under General/Usage/Manage Usage, I can see Videos thumbnail images displayed. When I click on Videos, all of my movies and their file sizes display to the right. Also, all of the artwork for the video files displays correctly when viewed here as small thumbnails.
I also have a rather small capacity iPhone 4s that I have placed just 2 video files into. It too is running iOS 8.0.2. for iPhone. Both of the video files are also on my iPad mini. Both videos were created by me and added to my iTunes Library. Both have artwork that I downloaded and then associated to each of the video files. Of the two videos, one displays it's custom artwork while the other does not. Each file replicates it's behaviour on each of my devices.
I have restored my iPad mini twice and have restored from backup both times. The problematic behaviour remains. I realize that my backup is probably corrupted with this problem as well and that the "Restore as new" option would most likely correct it. I don't want to have to re-enter all of the account, log in and password information for the up to 400 odd apps I have installed nor do I want to have to recreate all of my custom folders for grouping my apps.. This would take me a couple of days to sort out.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to correct this situation without having to "Restore as new"? Should I just wait it out for iOS 8.1 and hope this bug is corrected in that release? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    I have an iPhone 5C.
iOS 8.0 disabled my Wi-Fi. Actually not just disabled, it made my phone behave as it did not have W-Fi.  I could not re-enable it.
Restarting my phone or resetting network settings made me no difference.
    Solution:
Power down iPhone for a few minutes
Power-up and Wi-Fi is back again!
After updating to the latest iOS 8.0.2 it disabled my Wi-Fi again. Following the power-down procedure above fixed it.

  • Missing artwork when syncing to iphone 5

    Hi All,
Does anyone have an answer to my pain in the arse problem?
I have an iphone 5 and since updating to ios8, when i sync my music to my iphone it misses out some of the artwork and doesnt transfer it from my itunes, even though its clearly there in my itunes?
Ive tried removing all the music from the phone and putting it back on, resetting all etc etc, but haven`t had any joy. I have even spoke to apple support and they could not sort it either? i guess this is an new bug or something. I do have itunes match but i havent turned it on with my phone as i just use it for my ipad and apple tv.
Has any of you much more brainy than me people any ideas of what i can try?
    Anything appreciated

Same here. With me it only affects TV programmes - Music/Films absolutely fine.
When I spoke to Apple support yesterday pm they were going to raise it as a new IOS 8 bug.
Supose it will get fixed with update for IOS 8.0.2, or later...
