Missing Audio mixed bunch 32khz and 48khz

Hello,
I have an audio problem as well. I have been reading the MPEG questions but so far I haven't found what I am looking far.
I'm relatively new to editing. I edited a video on Adobe Premier Pro CS3. The volume for all of the clips was audible in Premier. Now when I transferredd to DVD, I can't hear some of the audio. Specifically, I can not hear the parts where I used the on camera mic. The hz for that was 32 and the hz for everything else was 48. Can anyone tell me if I can fix this problem without having to reshoot the footage?
I am working in Windows XP.
The original file is an avi. I set the audio preset to 48hz. I encoded as MPEG2 SVCD and then I burned a DVD-R using Nero. When I was burning on Nero I believe the audio setting in Nero was 44.1khz. I need this to be played on TVs. Can anyone help? Everything was going pretty well up until now.
Thank you
Carla

Do you hear sound when you play the MPEG2 SVCD file on your hard drive?
Cheers
Eddie

  • 32KHz and 48KHz audio in same sequence...

    Hello there...
Just need to put my mind at rest...for example: I've captured 3 tapes, 2 of them at 48KHz and one of them (from a different camera) at 32KHz... which is right.
When i open up a sequence (sequence settings: audio at 48KHz) and cut together something from all of the different tapes, ie a mix of 48 and 32KHz, does FCP do a reliable conversion of the 32KHz stuff?
I've been doing it like this for a while, as long as i capture the media at the correct audio rate, am i right in assuming i can combine 48KHz and 32KHz audio on the same timeline and FCP will convert the 32KHz audio to 48KHz no problem???
Or perhaps there is something i should be doing...

yes... of course it needs rendering... but that's it? no hidden technical things or options to be ticked...?
I've been looking thru the manual, doesn't have anything to say about the subject...

  • Audio Mixing between track and menu items

The gain on my menu audio is too high. How can I reduce/mix the menu audio so that it better matches the track audio ?
    Thanks,
    Andrwe

Use an external sound editor to reduce the level of the audio-file [of the menu]; and then use the quieter version in DVD-SP. Try installing Bias Peak LE, which should have come with DVD-SP.

  • 2 Questions: Missing audio files...and How to delete audio files

I have two nagging issues associated with my podcast at iTunes.
First, audio files are missing from the podcast. Everytime I post m4a files to my podcast, they are added to an xml file, and to the podcast. The xml file is complete, but some files are not making the trip to the podcast.
Second, I have a need to delete some of the audio files which appear in my podcast. How do I do that?
    Thanks!

As has been suggested you can encourage people to download QuickTime player by doing something like this...
    http://www.mirroroftheuniverse.com/Songs.html
You can also present your songs like this...
    http://roddymckay.com/Satellite/JukeBox.html
This is a SnoCap jukebox and you need an account to use it but you'll get the link to ESnips on the above page.
A 3 minute song has a file size of about 30 Mb in AIFF format. Converting it to MP3 reduces it to about 3.5 Mb and M4A to about 5.5 Mb.
iTunes will do these conversions for you and M4A is far superior to MP3 as far as sound quality is concerned.

    Hi:
This would be the chipset driver you need...
    http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/9701/en-us
After you install the chipset driver and reboot, try the audio driver directly from Realtek.
Accept the agreement.  DL and install the first driver listed in green.

  • Missing audio in some applications and very low audio in others

    Hi,
I am using Gnome 3 with Arch Linux and I started to notice that there is no sound with certain applications... but for the majority of the system the sound still works. For example, normally, when I click on the volume icon and move the slider up and down it usually has a "pop" sound with varying degrees of loudness based on where it is on the slider... that is completely silent now. When I am using other applications (such as cmus, pianobar, ..etc) the volume is really low even when I put the volume for that application up to 100%.
Additionally, I was trying to pinpoint exactly what could be causing this problem and I remember that it happened when I was using pidgin and I went to the volume settings and moved the sliders all the way up and back down to the middle again.. after that it hasn't been the same.

Nouveau has a bug currently. Other drivers have been fixed, nouveau not yet. The cause is the way cairo-1.12 does things, it required patches in X and all open drivers. Keep an eye on this: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29495
Also, unrelated to that, you don't have hardware opengl acceleration. You're probably missing nouveau-dri.

  • Audio Mixer

I am using PE4 and would like to know if there's a simple way to eliminate the audio that is recorded with video which shows up as Audio 1 in the mixer. When I have added a sound track and am editing in the sceneline I have to decrease the Audio 1 level for each added clip. I would like to turn off the Audio 1 and only mix the added soundtrack. Mute turns the Audio 1 off but doesn't keep it off when going back to review the video. Thanks, John P.

    John,
Open Audio Mixer, set Mute and then keep Audio Mixer opened. You can drag a corner to minimize the size and drag it to a position, where it will not be in the way, if you need the screen real estate. If you exit from Audio Mixer, it defaults back to playing all Audio Tracks.
This works differently, than in Pro. There, I keep my Audio Mixer docked into the Panel with Effects and Source Monitor and just Tab between those individual Panels. I do not know what sort of Workspace changes might be in PE7, but this is a little problem for me, as well. Still, with the Audio Mixer made quite small, it's not in my way. Since my PE4 is on my 17" laptop (and I do most of my editing on a dual 21" CRT workstation), I've had to learn about Workspaces in a new way (for me, at least). In Pro, one can also just Mute an entire Track in the Timeline, without even using Audio Mixer. It also has little features, like "locking" a Track (Audio or Video), which I love. However, the interface in PE4 was re-designed to simplify general editing for the user-base. It also costs about US$600 less, than Pro, so one must be prepared to give up a few features.

  • Audio mixer having no effect

    Hi all
Now it was late at night.. working to a deadline and I had all my tracks laid out and ready to go. As I have done many times before I brought up the audio mixer, changed my background music track to write (or latch or touch) and and ran it through fading up and down as usual. All looked normal -  BUT when I replayed it back my audio slider changes had had absolutely no effect  (as if I had been in read mode) .The slider stayed at 0 during playback.  Same with the other audio tracks when I tried.  If I add keyframes manually and drag up and down on the timeline -  all is fine (but sooo time consuming)    Opened another project and all worked fine.  It is a 1280x720 25 timline btw.  Any ideas? Thanks  Mike

Hey thanks Bill - it is a weird one.  When I looked at track keyframes I could only see the ones I manually adjust. Audio mixer is focused and all seems well - but it just does not populate the track with the zillions of keyframes you expect when you adjust the sliders on write.
Anyway, my customer liked the end result and didnt even notice the flaky manually keyframed audio - which stood out to me like a sore thumb.
So next day I created a new sequence in same project  (with same sequence settings to match footage as normal) and then copy and pasted the whole (troublesome) timeline there - and then  it works just fine with the audio mixer in the new sequence!!  (just wish I has thought of that in the wee hours of the morning when I was trying to hit the deadline)
Curiosly, If I delete everything from the troublesome track and cut and past it back there from my new ( working) sequence - then I have same audio mixer problem -- so it is some glitch on that specific sequence - even though both appear identical.  One to watch for - but alls well that ends well. Thanks again

  • Premiere Pro audio sync issues with 48khz audio on video file and 44.1khz audio on external audio

So, I recorded video and audio on my Canon 5D Mark II at 1080p, 23.976 fps, and 48khz, 16-bit Stereo audio. And I used a Zoom H4 to record an mp3 audio file at 44.1khz Compressed. When trying to sync the audio in Premiere Pro CC, the audio slowly loses sync over time. I already tried to convert the 44.1khz mp3 file to 48khz in Adobe Audition. But that didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

There's always time-stretch changes to the audio file with "keep pitch unchanged" checked, I suppose. Mind you, I've heard of people doing it but haven't done it myself. There's other possible options I'm sure. There's been quite a few threads here on time-sync issues over time.

  • I am using iMac OS 10.7.2 with Garageband'11 6.0.4. I can't record sound from  mixer Behringer X1622USB using USB out. when I connect the mixer to iMac via USB  appears USB Audio CODEC on Sound and preferences but no sound from mixer to iMac. Need help.

I am using iMac OS 10.7.2 with Garageband'11 6.0.4. I can't record sound from  mixer Behringer X1622USB using USB out. when I connect the mixer to iMac via USB  appears USB Audio CODEC on Sound and Preferences but I can't get no sound from mixer to iMac only sound from iMac to mixer. I only can record sound using microphone line in. Please help.

    Eric,
Thanks for your reply. Realtek audio works only in playback. There is a stereo mix in the mixer but the recording controls are not operable with no sliders in the mixer for any recording option. Slider controls appear to be grayed out. Can't figure out how to enable them. Downloaded newest drivers to no avail.
The M Audio control panel has no apparent option for recording stereo mix. Adobe ignores the sound from the DVD or CD and shows flatline.
I'm trying to record the sound from the DVD not rip the track.
When I go to Audio Driver Setup and select Audition 3.0 windows sound, there is no input device installed.
I'm thinking of going back to a decent internal Soundblaster card like I have on my 8 year old machine I am replacing.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Overview of audio and the Audio Mixer

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/overview-audio-audio-mixer.html

The last section "Customize a VST effect in an options window" for a beginner working their way through the manual makes no sense. VST and how to apply it is not explained, and no explanation appears prior in the manual. To be blunt, it's just a nonsense.

  • Audio out of sync and missing

I have several clips from my Panasonic LX-5 (720P). I created a new project (CS 5.5) and imported the clips. When I play the file directly from Windows Explorer, all is well. However, in the timeline, the audio is way ahead of the video and then part way through a clip, the audio disappears altogether. Also, the line at the top of the sequence is yellow (above transitions, it is green). I thought maybe the final exported file would be fine, but it had the audio out of sync and missing in the same spots, too.
Any ideas what's going on here?
    Thanks,
    Jay

  • I can't hear the narration track over the audio, what do I do? And where is the "audio mixer"?

Just downloaded Premiere Elements 12 and lost my favorite audio music (wish I could bring it over from 11 somehow), so I drug a new clip in the audio track and now I can't hear my narration track. Also, can you pull up projects made in 11 with Premiere 12? Should I delete 11 off my computer? Also, where is the audio mixer?

The Audio Mixer is under the Tools menu in Expert view or under the Tools drop-down menu at the top of the interface.

  • Info please...control surface and mixer for fcp and audio recording

i'm looking for a control surface for final cut pro and also xlr/line inputs for recording guitar and vocals in cubase or audacity.
read all the info here after numerous searches. still some questions.
was looking at the tascam 1082 but not sure of the build quality...i saw one and it looked a bit cheaply built. the two demos at guitar center were falling apart. didn't look nearly as well built as the mackie. also i have been reading here and elsewhere about bugs/problems etc.
was looking at the m-audio...not sure about that one...$1250...
was also looking at mackie control surface...but no firewire...how do you hook it up to a mac? also no audio inputs. what would i need to buy to work in conjunction with that for recording audio? if i bought the mackie, i'd still have to buy an audio inpur device and that would end up costing as much as the m audio.
i know i could just buy a mixer for recording and forget the control surface...i already have a shuttle pro which works fine and i have gotten used to using the mixer in fcp...no problems. but the motorized faders on a control surface sure would be nice
    so questions:
how does the mackie connect to a mac and what other device(s) would i need to record audio and how would they hook up...would they play nice together?
ppl who own the tascam...happy with it? used the mic and line preamps? are they noisy?
do i need an additional firewire bus reguardless of which control surface i get?
how does one route the audio for these when in fcp? i currently route my audio through my dsr 11 deck. will the control surface just go through firewire or would i have to actually jack into the control surface with additional cables and have to remove my present cables from my speakers everytime i want to use the control surface?
sorry so many questions. it's really tough to make an informed decision in buying something if you don't understand the mechanics of it.
btw, appreciate the info so far that i found doing my searches.
    thanks
    carl

I've got the Tascam FW1082 and I absolutely love it. I can't believe I ever edited without it. I'm considering upgrading to the 1884 in the future.
As for the mic preamps, they sound great. Nice and clean. There's no such thing as a line preamp, but the line inputs are clean as well.
For routing, I go to the 1082 via firewire until I turn on my external video monitor, at which point I send both video & audio to the deck and route the audio from the deck into a pair of the mixer's analog inputs. That way you avoid the delay of external monitoring. The 1082 allows you to listen to both the computer & the inputs at the same time, so switching back and forth is seamless.
As for durability, I've had it out on a few location recordings, but most of the time it's on my desk. It's still in mint condition. I'm sure if it was on a display where any 10 year old could come mess with it, it wouldn't be in as great of shape, but then again, a Neve console wouldn't look that great if every little brat that walked in the door could play with it. If you take care of your stuff, you'll have no issues with this mixer.

  • AE CC loses connection with second monitor and audio mixer (BLACKMAGIC) when switching to desktop

    specifications:
    Mac OsX 10.7.5
AE cc (part of creative cloud, up-to-date) NOT TRIAL VERSION
software for connecting monitor and adui mix panel: Blackmagic Desktop Video 10.0
second monitor: Sony Trimaster EL PVM 2541
audio mix panel: Behringer Xenyx x1204USB audio mixer
Blackmagic connects the Sony screen + Behringer Xenyx x1204USB audio mixer to the mac computer.
    the problem:
When working in after effects, we link the program to show the video preview on the second screen (the sony one)
While the work area is still visible on the Mac screen.
The audio is also regulated through Blackmagic so we can mix on the xenyx mix panel.
Everything works fine as long as we stay in after effects.
If, for a brief moment, even a second, we swhitch to the desktop, or an other program (internet, acrobat reader, etc) After effects looses the connection to Blackmagic (forgets it exists). So we suddenly have no audio, or no longer a seperate video preview image.
The option to select Blackmagic in the dropdown menu is also gone.
If we restart After effects though, it's connected again.
    Any ideas?
I added two screenshots to clarify.
The screenshots is when it does work, and after effects still recognizes blackmagic.
    Cheers,
    Andreas

When this happens, open Activity Monitor. Is Adobe QT32 Server running? That is required for QuickTime video preview. If it is not running, this is the troubleshooting you want to do:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2011/02/troubleshooting-quicktime-errors-with-after-ef fects.html
In the next update to After Effects CC, the old QuickTime video preview (on Mac; DirectShow video preview on Windows) is being replaced by Mercury Transmit:
