Missing audiobook

I see that there are a lot of questions about not being able to locate purchased audiobooks. I've done a lot of reading but not found my solution.
I purchased an audiobook in the iTunes store, using my computer. I see it in my Library and can play it on my computer.
I would like to put it on my iPod too.
I used File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. I see the arrows spin around on the iPod button.
But when I look in Music > More on the iPod, there is no category of Audiobooks. Just Compilations, Composers, Genres, and Podcasts.
So I thought maybe I don't have the option synced, to load audiobooks to the iPod. Still using the computer, I clicked to look at what is on my iPod. There is  no audiobook category there either. (There is a category of Books, and it shows a few checked there, but they don't show up either--not in the Music or iBooks app.)
Ideas?

I did make a bit of progress. I noticed that on the "Books" screen mentioned above there is an Audiobooks option down at the bottom of the screen. I didn't have the window open enough to see it. So I checked Sync Audiobooks and checked the one book I want synced onto the iPod. Told it to sync then. Still no "Audiobooks" category under "More."

  • I plugged my iPhone into my MacBook and my audiobooks are gone. When I go to iTunes it looks as though I never purchased them. Please help me figure out how I might recover my missing audiobooks, thank you.

I have run into this problem once before last week and I called to solve the problem. But when I plugged my iPhone knot my MacBook again my audiobooks were gone again. If you could help me recover my audiobooks that would be great!! Thank you!

  • Missing Audiobooks Listing

In the past 24 hours my library list (audiobooks only) is totally missing. I can't even import the ones I have backed up on my external drive because they will not show up. The only ones that do show are only coming up when I look in my Recently Purchased lists. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem, my iPhone died today and I was going to continue listening to the book off my mac book pro... but I cant see the book. Does anyone know how to re-download the audiobook?

  • The mysterious case of the missing audiobooks

In the latest version of Music for iPad (and I guess iPhone), there is no longer a link to access the audiobooks I've downloaded from iTunes over the years.
I've searched in iBooks and other equally obscure IOS Apps, but they remain stubbornly disappeared.
They also don't appear on my 'purchased' list. How rude.
Where have the naughty Apple tinkerers put my Audiobooks?
    can anyone solve this conundrum?

If you are on iOS 8.2 then update to iOS 8.3.
If that doesn't solve the problem try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

  • Missing audiobook button??

I downloaded the newest iOS5 to my iPad2 - I selected to sync my audio books, the sync completed but there is no button or link to audio books any more where it used to be under ipod!  Now a button for music, photos, books , videos etc but where the heck are my audiobooks??

If you have audiobooks on the iPad then you should be able to access them via the More button at the bottom of the Music app.

  • Missing audiobooks content

After upgrading to Mavericks, I plugged my iPhone into my computer and opened iTunes to transfer some audiobooks back to my computer and put others on my phone. While I had 5 books on my phone, once I opened iTunes, those books went grey and I am getting a message saying "can't locate content." Now, the books aren't even on my phone. I can see them on the info page under books...audiobooks, but when I hit apply, nothing happens. If I try to drag the books into iPhone, I can't...they are greyed out.
Any idea how I retrieve this content??
    Thank you!

You have all the files you need. The en-US is what is inside the final download/extraction.
In other words if I copy past them, it will replace the older files. Should I do that ?
That is actually a good question. For the library, copy away. And for the others, it does not appear to matter. But, for example, with styles, the styles you have in your styles folder now were installed by the .exe that installed some Encore and Premeire Pro styles, templates, etc. In the Encore en-US styles, you will see some with .psdloc extensions, rather than .psd extensions. When you copy those, the ones with .psdloc will not work. But they are all (I think) already in the styles folder. Copying over them will not replace the ones that were previously without the .psdloc. I don't really know how all this works. It still looks like this is a mess.
But put the library where they go, and you will have the content you need.

  • Missing iTunes Purchased Audiobooks after iTunes Version Update

HELP! I recently updated my iTunes version on my laptop. Afterwards, I plugged my iPhone5 into the laptop and it synced as it usually does, however, I am now missing audiobooks and other files that I purchased via iTunes. Where can I go to recover these files? I have tried to pull them from my iCloud but they apparently are not yet able to be backed up by iCloud. Where can I go to retrieve all these files?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download them the store, but depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to redownload music, films and tv shows, either via the Purchased link under Quicklinks onthe right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes, or the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app (apps can be redownloaded via the Purchased link on your computer and the Purchased tab in the App Store app). For the audiobooks, if you don't have them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library nor on your backup of your downloads, then if they are still in your country's store then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Updated iTunes on my Macbook and most of my Audible-purchased audiobooks have disappeared completely

When I recently upgraded iTunes (wish I hadn't!), I lost almost all of a very sizeable Audible audiobook library. Any fix for this other than downloading each and every one of a 5-year old library from Audible?? I have an early 2009 Macbook, using Mavericks 10.9.1.

Try looking in the iTunes Media folder for the other audiobooks.
Are the missing audiobooks in that audiobook folder?
Do you see anything in the previous iTunes library folder?
If the files are still there and you have a previous itl, you can re-create the iTunes library or just drag and drop the audiobooks back into iTunes again.

  • HT203167 I deleted an audiobook out of my iTunes library. Now I have to pay again to download it. Is this the only way?

I deleted an audiobook out of my iTunes library. Now I have to pay again to download it. Is this the only way?

Have you checked to see if the deleted file is still in the recycle bin. If so you can restore it and add it back into the library. If it is on an iPod or iOS device it could be transferred back to your library. As Steve says audiobooks from the iTunes store are currently supplied on a one time only basis, unlike most other purchases. Hopefully the position with audiobooks will change too over time. In the meantime you could Contact Support and explain the circumstances surrounding your error. They may be able to grant an exception and resupply your missing audiobook.

  • Lost Audiobooks when "syncing"

I downloaded an audiobook in iTunes that wouldn't transfer to my iPhone.  To try and solve the problem, I tried to "Sync Audiobook" under the "Devices", "Books" category.  Now, the new audiobook is on my iphone but all the other audiobooks have been deleted on both my iphone and itunes.  Is there any way to get them back?

ok, I've now found the missing Audiobooks with my Music. The problem now is that I have no way to choose which Audiobook...the only box selects all the Audiobooks. Has anyone else encountered this?
    Thanks...Bill

  • Install iTunes After Re-Installing Windows 7

I am going to be reinstalling Win7 from scratch.  I will wipe everything out and reinstall.  What do I have to backup or make copies of, so that I can keep all my iTunes stuff?
I've looked to see where my Media folder location is.  I have music and audio books as my primary media assets.  When I look in this folder I see some music and some audio books, but not all.  I can understand the music since I had a bunch of ripped CDs that I added to the library and did not have them copied in.  I thought my audible books were all under control of audible, but I see some of them in the iTunes media folder, but not all.
I've noticed that when I download an audible book using audible software, it is automatically added to the itunes library.
I am trying to figure out what filies/folders I should backup to minimize the work of returning my iTunes to what it looks like now.
BTW, I am doing ther reinstall of Windows 7 because I'm running 32bit and want 64bit.  I'm not sure if the Win install would just allow me to "upgrade" but I figure tthis is a good opportunity to clean out a lot of crap.
BTW, I currently have 3 devices that sync wiht iTunes: 2 iPhones and one iPod.

I just noticed I have on another drive the following directories:
    E:\iTunes\Music\Audiobooks
    E:\iTunes\Music\Music
These libraries contain the missing audiobooks and music, or at least appear to.  I haven't crosschecked to see that everything is there.  I wonder why I have this data there?  I don't see a place in iTunes to configure it to look there.

  • Downloaded Audible content doesn't appear in iTunes

    Hello,
I've purchased/downloaded several audiobooks from Audible, but I'm having trouble getting them to show up in iTunes properly. First, I've got The Greatest Generation: it shows up on my iPhone right, under Audiobooks, but there's no Audiobooks category for me in iTunes itself. This is a .m4b file.
Second, I just downloaded about four of the "free" audiobooks from Audible. But I can't find them anywhere in iTunes (and obviously not in the aforementioned missing Audiobooks category in iTunes), even though their folders appear in Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. Double-clicking on these will launch iTunes, but nothing plays, and trying to import them makes no difference. These are .aa files. I don't know why they're different from the Brokaw files.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Todd

    You cannot redownload audiobooks.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer..  Copy them from your backup copy of your comptuer.
