Missing blue tooth adapter

Good day,
On my Pavilion dv 9000 with windows 7 64 I have the following problem:
When I try to switch on my bluetooth with the wireless assistant, the system reports that blue tooth is switched off.
I have searched the microsoft system settings but nothing concerning Bluetooth pops up.
I also don't find anything under Networksettings.
As it was working before it should be there.
My wireless internet is working normally.

Please visit www.hp.com -> Put the product number of notebook computer in the search tab -> in the following page tyou would get a link for software and driver downloads->look for bluetooth/network adapters -> download and install them. Then check again if the issue persists.

Open up the Windows Device Manager and see if you have a bluetooth device listed there. Also do you have the HP wireless assistant installed? It should give you wi-fi and BT status (on or off).

Anyway you answered my question on Bluetooth that it was not a feature that came with product at that time of purchase. And the suggestion was helpful though I was aware of ability to purchase an external one and I was reading somewhere on HP support site that it had to be an HP product! So you helped me saying and verifying that any good brand of them would work and even gave me a link. Shame on HP for hiding fact that this computer did not have BT. It should have been volunteered on spec sheet. That would have saved me all this time. Anyway the reason I came to forum to try finding internal Bluetooth capability was i didn't want to have a USB slot (usb 2) taken up as I have a logitech mouse USB dongle already taking one slot ( usb 2). That leaves only 2 slots left (usb 3) One where I plug in external drive and camera, etc in the second one . Also didn't want an external 3.0 hub to carrry around. Anyway thanks on that issue. I will have to get an external one now that you verified the fact one is not built in. On the web cam issue, how can I get help on this to verify that it is phisically broken and laptop needs to be shipped back to HP? and how would I do that? Contacting HP without signing up for service and paying just to speak to them about it? Can you help me with that info if you work for HP? Thanks again for all your help. Have a Great day! Frank H

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 computer where the built in webcam use to work but recently does not. Looked up solution online and arrived at a site that said the webcam may be broken or disconnected and that I had to send back to HP for repair. I could buy an external one but I'd like the built in one to work as there is nothing extra to carry around. How can I verify and fix this? HP wants to charge just to speak with someone live. That is crazy since it's just a question on how to send back to HP for repair and find out cost. I just need to verify if hadware disconnected or not. How can I contact HP to fix without signing up and being charged just to speak to them? Thanks, Frank H.

Blue tooth adapter

I have bought the Tobisha Satellite L755 and now have also purchased the bluetooth attachment for it as I have a Kodak All in One printer, which I needed to buy it's bluetooth attachment from Kodak. My computers seems to be okay, but cannot print at all. I have tried everything so now need help from someone....
When i pull up the file transfer it does pick up my printer, but even then I cannot send the file....
I'm ready to give up as I have now wasted my monies on purchasing 2 bluetooth products and nothing works.

Because it's detecting the printer, you know the Bluetooth is working. I'd recommending contacting Kodak support.

Blue tooth device missing.

The laptop i own is a LENOVO G560 purchased from new york.I currently reside in mumbai,India. When i was about to set up my laptop to my surprise the bluetooth device was not detected..After several calls to the customer care and installing and reinstalling the drivers several times, I was told that there is a hardware issue.After exchanging emails and several calls to customer care again, i was told to visit the service center.
Now this is just the start of my horrifying experience. When i visit the service center , they open up the laptop and i was told that the blue tooth device is missing.And they refuse to order any part and fix it, because this is a case of manufacturing defect as there was no device present in the first place.So i was told to call up the customer care from the service center, as they do not communicate with the customer care themselves.And the customer care refused to help me with it saying it was the technical department and they do not handle such cases.So i was told to write an email asking for a replacement of the laptop.
Now i have written an email, but have got no reply yet. I don't know what i am supposed to do!

Blue Tooth even worse after update

Blue Tooth connection does not work at all now after new update. Was working with new blue tooth speaker before pc only update. What the? Serious sony fan saying **bleep**? What am I missing?

You cannot magically support features on hardware that was not built with them. The actual wires and chips need to have the features. You need a newer BT chip.

Is it possible to have a 1 tap icon to turn Blue Tooth off & on?

Oh wow, I'm so glad you told me that I could turn on the Bluetooth before driving. I never thought of that because my IQ is 25!!
I'm really confused about what kind of person you are and why you would post these negative comments saying that I "lose ... doubly". My post was agreeing with the original poster and supporting his desire for easier Bluetooth activitation. He's making a reasonable request and MANY people have asked for it in the past.
For the record, I plan to turn on my Bluetooth before I drive because I am concerned about safety. Apple could make it easier to turn it on - it's as simple as that! Even if it's only for general convenience, not safetly, it's utterly unnecessary to have to go through 4 button presses to activate Bluetooth when it could be done in one. My prior phone, which was inferior to my iPhone in every way, allowed me to turn on Bluetooth in one keypress and I miss that. Why does that make you declare me a loser?
Now, I'll be really interested to see if you reply to this post in an angry, blaming and petty way. Why be hostile? Life's too short. If you don't agree with somone on a small issue, move on to the next post. I'm sure you are a smart and capable person (see I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt!) and I think maybe you would be a happier person if you could find ways you agree with someone instead of treating them like they are brain dead. If you are absolutely sure that neither the sound output of the Macbook nor the sound output of VoiceOver are muted then try to reset VoiceOver.
1. Open VoiceOver Preferences.
2. From the File menu choose "Reset All VoiceOver Preferences …".
3. Click "Reset.
4. Turn VoiceOver Off and On again. (hold command and press F5 twice).
If you still don't hear anything then it could be that the main sound output of the Macbook got muted somehow. I find that I often hit the mute button on my Apple wireless keyboard without noticing. So just make sure that its not muted and also hit the "Volume Up" a few times. Its so terribly obvious I know but its also very easy to miss. Lots of people do that.

TA24778 iPad - dropouts when streaming music via blue tooth to sound devices (Boom Box etc.).

I use my iPad as a central music store.
But -when trying to stream music via Blue Tooth I get dropouts all the time.
It doesn't matter how far away I am, or where I'm using it. It gets a bit better when deactivating the BT Keyboard (yes, shame on me, I'm using the old style way to hack text into the Pad...), but I still get dropouts.
I checked everything, batteries are fully loaded, dis- and reconnect several times, reboot, etc.
On my devices (Logitech adapter for my home-hi-fi, Soundbric) I get the same result.
Any Ideas?
(Sorry - I can only choose "Using iPhone" as category, although I chose iPad first... Do I need to understand this?)

I'm not sure what you mean by "mixed with audio in Alsamixer". Can you clarify?
With that said, my problem did mysteriously fix itself after some update (presumably to alsa). Unfortunately, I noticed it in passing one day while I was changing the volume of something in pavucontrol, so I don't remember the exact update that caused it to work. But yes, my current setup does work now: I can listen to audio through my DAC and use the Yeti for recording. However, I have found that use of the Yeti crashes Google Hangouts, although it works perfectly in every other program I've tried.
As documentation, here is my current working setup (it is very similar to the above): in PulseAudio, the DAC is set to be a Digital Stereo (IEC958) output. The Yeti (called an 'Integrated Rate Matching Hub' in pavucontrol) is set to be an Analog Stereo Input. In the input devices section, I have the Yeti's volume set to around 58% (-14.31 dB), which is past the base volume a fair ways but produces decent levels for recording. The DAC's volume is set to 100% (0dB gain, the DAC takes care of the level). In alsamixer, I have the mic level for the Yeti set to 40.
Edit: This is a long-time-later edit, but let me say that when you have multiple USB audio devices, what USB hub and in what order they are connected seems to matter a great deal. If you can't get your Blue Yeti to work, try moving it to a different set of USB ports (controlled by a different controller) on your motherboard. This magically fixes the issue for me.

Ok, I have spent a lot of time reading about the blue tooth devices and I am confused. I do have my $100 store credit to spend ( but dont HAVE to use it for that) so I am wondering....what blue tooth device is the best? The Jawbone, Apple, Motorola ( heard they have a new H12 thats great)....so any comments? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays.

I have the Apple Bluetooth Headset... I gave it a 3-stars out of 5 rating. It is really tiny which makes it easy to carry in your shirt pocket or wherever. But, it doesn't fit in my ear well.. had to pick up an adapter that lets it plug into the ear canal.. much better. Also, it's slow to answer a call and no noise reduction for your voice (background noise goes thru to your phone-partner.)
My sister has a jawbone and really likes it. Many others on this forum have recommended the jawbone as well. It's physically bigger, but apparently sounds really good and kills the background noise that your recipient would normally hear.

Blue Tooth Printer can U hv w/ L355D-S7901 + key board is not hinky

I can't find in the spec's where this laptop is blue tooth compatable, does anyone, know...'cuz I am really tired of running downstairs to print. Have HP C5550
Also, this keyboard is typeing very hinky, like have to type like a 2 year old 'cuz it does't pick up all the letter. Very annoying, any suggestions, other then another $1,000 for a new laptop?

Blue tooth head set for music

hi anyone know how to make a blue tooth head set work for the music in the iphone? I have the new motorola ((( S9 ))) the phone side of it works well but their is no music side of it.
on Motorola's web page. it say's the phone has to sapport ((( A2DP ))) to be able to stream music.
dose anyone know if the iphone has sapport for it or will or willnot so I could return my headsets or keep it for latter.
can sapport for advanced audio distribution profile be added in an upgraid or is it hardwear that can not be addedd.
any help or advice is welcomed

It's all a matter of priorities for the first release. The iPhone was a HUGE undertaking. A whole new adaption of OSX (sounds like they are using a lot of Leapord in there) on a whole new processor, every app is rewritten for a finger-interface, etc etc.
I'll bet you'll see streaming music/audio VERY shortly possibly end of the month when they start shipping the Apple Bluetooth headphone.

Can't sync entourage w/ mac bookpro to blackberry 8130 via blue tooth

if you can help me sync my blackberry 8130 with my macbook pro running 10.5.2 via bluetooth i will be your best friend...
i have a brand new mac bookpro running 10.5.2...right now i can confirm the devices are paired. i can send and receive mp3s and pictures to the berry via blue tooth. i can also sync via calender and contacts with entourage via USB cable using missing sync (which i bought a copy of) and pocketmac (which is free and i have installed)
i just can't sync the calender and contacts via bluetooth to entourage. please help!!!
