Missing Bluetooth Components on my Palm TX

I recently started getting a (Sys5050) (0,841) error message on my palm TX.  I followed advice from this blog community and performed a warm reset and it took the problem away.  Yea!
Not so yea!  Now I find out when I want to connect to the web via Bluetooth that I am "Missing Bluetooth Components" and that I should reinstall the software.
What software?  The Bluetooth came with the TX.  HELP!  PLEASE!
Thanks in advance

Then your next task is a Hard Reset.  This will erase the device, and reload all the original software.
Once the Hard Reset is complete, test the BlueTooth radio to see if all is better.  If so, do a Hotsync and see if the problem returns.  If it returns, we'll try something different.
To perform a Hard Reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/887_en.html
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.

  • Missing Quicktime Components in iMovie 11

So recently my iMovie had been acting up and crashing on my user so I decided to log out, switch users, and access one of my family member's empty iMovies on my mac book. However, when I tried to open it, a message came up saying that iMovie couldn't open unless I deleted some 3ivx stuff or something like that. So I decided to delete that stuff along with old video conversion apps I had once downloaded but never used again.
Somewhere within that deleting spree I must have deleted something that created a problem with iMovie.
Everytime I open iMovie on any user, the notorious "Missing Quicktime Components" message comes up.
When I click "OK" iMovie opens normally. And at first I thought nothing was wrong. But then I noticed I can't export movies, import things from my cameras, change the lengths of titles, and change the speed of my clips...
I have been searching everywhere and have tried almost everything to fix it.
I deleted the iMovie cache stuff and plist, updated my computer, deleted iMovie and reinstalled it via the app store, with no luck.
A lot of people suggest reinstalling through the start up discs but here's the thing:
    1. My laptop is 4 years old. I have no idea where those discs are at this point.
    2. My macbook was brand new in 2009, came with iLife 09. I purchased iMovie 11 through the app store, without a disc, so I basically have iMovie 11 and iPhoto 09 and Garageband 09. If I found my start up discs, wouldn't it just reinstall iMovie 09? I really don't want to buy the whole iLife 11 disk package, especially since I've heard it hasn't even fixed the problem for some people.
    Please help.
    I have a MacBook Pro from 2009
    Running on Mountain Lion 10.8.5
iMovie 11 version 9.0.9 (says my computer is incompatible to update to the newest purple icon version... not that i really want to it has terrible reviews!)
    Thanks!

Alright so I solved my own problem after hours and hours of google searches.
What worked was I reinstalled Mountain Lion on my laptop
I found the cause of the problem as well, if anyone out there is curious if they have the same issue.
What happened was, iMovie told me to delete some third party video conversion stuff and when I deleted that I also accidentally deleted those super important Quicktime codecs.
You can check if you have the same problem as me by opening Finder. Click "Go" in the top bar, "Computer" in the drop down list. Select "Macintosh HD" from the Finder window, click on the folder labeled "Library", then click on the folder labeled "Quicktime". Inside the Quicktime folder you should see these two little icons labeled "AppleIntermediateCodec.component" and "AppleMPEG2Codec.component"
If you do not have these iMovie can't function properly.
First, check your trash! If you accidentally deleted it, those are what you're looking for to take out.
If you were dumb like me and emptied your trash, just reninstall Mountain Lion. The codec components of Quicktime come with Mountain Lion so they're not something you can download from the internet or pay for. Reinstalling takes FOREVER but it works.
    To reinstall Mountain Lion:
-Restart your computer, while it's on the gray start up screen hold the buttons "Command" and the letter "R"
-A gray screen and box should open up, simply click the Reinstall button and after a couple hours your problem will be fixed!
Reinstalling DOES NOT delete any of your stuff!
    (Unless something goes wrong)
    I really hope this helps!

I use Symantec Security, but I can't seem to find any problems there either.
    Any clues??

You seem to suspect that it could be connected to your Symantec Security. Why don't you try disabling Symantec and see if that makes any difference.

  • Missing Bluetooth Pairing Services for Treo650 and 15"1.67Albook(1.4.3)

    Hi,
When I got my Treo650 originally I ran bluetooth setup assistant and when paired, sync with ical, adress book, use phones gprs connection, etc... were listed as bluetooth services supported. After some upgrade, not sure which one,(treo/OSX) there are no services listed when I run bluetooth setup assistant. How can a treo 650 not have any supported bluetooth services?
Now, palm, cingular, and apple don't know, so I'm asking the community.
How can I get some if not all of the bluetooth services that are suppossed to be there back?(other then reverting, which may not be possible anyway)
I am assuming it is from a Cingular Firmware Update, but there must be a way to write a bluetooth extension file, maybe a .prc, with the supported bluetooth profiles to load on the treo. Also is there some way to check the apple bluetooth services available?
I am just frustrated at the lack of response, support, from these companies. When I called cingular, nobody knows anything, nor do they know who might. Its ussually the same with most tech support. I wish there was a private tech support company that knew what they were doing, and had access to drivers, software pogrammers, etc. I'd pay good money for all my devices to have custom care. O well, sorry for venting.

No. I can't believe the lack of bluetooth services on this phone. My sony erickson T637 had everything. All I have been able to get is the access phone's data connection using bluetooth. But that only comes up half the time when pairing while dial up networking is on on the treo. The OBEX object push comes up on with dial up networking off, but I still have yet to find the sync with ical, etc.. stuff. Everthing seems to work, but you wouldn't know from pairing the two. My DUN still boots me off after a minute or so of no activity. Probably some cingular thing. Sorry I'm not much help, but I'm just a consumer with a bumb product and no support from any of the companies I bought it from.Good Luck

    Dear Marco,
1.Check whether have you created the BOM component's along with a change number with a release key.
2.If so means goto CC02 and set the release key for that change number.
3.Goto KKF6N,enter the parent material number, plant and create the product cost collector for the producvtion version and save
the preliminary cost estimate for this material and then check in MFBF.

when starting imovie I get an error missing quicktime components. To solve the problem I have upgraded to latest version but it didn't help. I want to either solve this problem or get a refund for the useless upgrade.

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
iMovie does not, AFAIK, use QT 10.

  • Missing iMovie components & Apps after Archive & Install

I recently did an archive & reinstall. Opening iMovie for the first time after it gave me the following error:
"Missing Quicktime Components: The QuickTime components necessary to view, edit, import, and export several kinds of movies are not installed. These components are included with the iMovie installer; please re-install."
iMovie still opened but I didn't want to entrust it with importing files. So I went here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/imovie712.html and downloaded the latest iMovie and tried to install it. But I got this error:
"Alert: An eligible iMovie application was not found in the location /Applications."
Huh, that's weird. So I looked in my Applications folder and not only is iMovie not there, but neither is iPhoto, or iDVD!
I suppose I could bring them back with the versions in my Time Machine prior to the archive and reinstall, but would they come whole? Would it be better to reinstall these from the Installation DVD's? WHo knows what else is missing? Guess that is what I get for using the Leopard Installation DVD I got for my G5, rather than using the disks that came with this MacBook Pro.
    Any advice?

"Missing Quicktime Components: The QuickTime components necessary to view, edit, import, and export several kinds of movies are not installed. These components are included with the iMovie installer; please re-install."
The modal message is telling you that some of the components used by iMovie for import/editing are missing and that the easiest way to re-install them is to re-run the iLife '08 (or more specifically the iMovie '08) installer package. For instance, Imovie '08 installs a special MPEG-2 component that converts normal MPEG-2 content from a DVD or HDD camcorder to all I-frame MPEG-2 content (the equivalent of Motion-JPEG video) which can be edited in iMovie '08. The component also allows you to view such MOV files in the QT Player others others without iLife '08 installed would not be able to view them.
iMovie still opened but I didn't want to entrust it with importing files. So I went here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/imovie712.html and downloaded the latest iMovie and tried to install it. But I got this error: "Alert: An eligible iMovie application was not found in the location /Applications."
Re-install from your original installation disks. This area is for upgrading earlier versions of iMovie '08. If you are already running v7.1.4, the the software on this page will not allow you to "upgrade" your software since it is looking for specific older versions. Besides, these upgrades may assume the additional components are already install not may not even bother to check for them.
Would it be better to reinstall these from the Installation DVD's?
    Yes.

  • Remote target is missing required components

    Hello,
I am working on data acquisition using labview and cdaq 9191 chassis + 9234 module by using DAQ Assistant.
The DAQ Assistant captures data from the chassis, feeds it into a shared variable and then the VI deploys it over a network.
This worked perfectly about 4 months ago. After That I uninstalled LabView and other drivers.
After reinstalling the whole setup again now when I create a new project and try to put DAQ assistant in the VI, it gives an error - "the remote target is missing required components".
What might have caused this problem?

    Hey Egupta,
What versions of LabVIEW and the DAQmx driver are you using?  You can check this by going into Measurement & Automation Explorer and expanding out the Software tab.
Are you sure that you installed the DAQmx driver after you installed LabVIEW?  It might be worth reparing the driver if you are unsure and we determine that they are compatible versions.

  • Missing Bluetooth Services

I am trying to pair my Zire 72 with my laptop with Bluetooth.  On the Zire 72 I get a dialog box saying "Missing or incorrectly installed Bluetooth services."  How can I fix this problem.  I can't run the bluetooth pairng setup.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my TX. I can pair it with a cellphone, I can receive a file via Bluetooth, but when I try to send a file (with no lock), I don't have any dialog box to chose the way to send it.
When I want to send a file via Documets to Go, I have a error message : "the operation could not be completed. There may be no transmission service provided or there may be no available receiving application for this type of data"
When I want to send a file via FileZ, I have a error message : "Error:exg:Target Missing in item::send VFSFile() a" puis "An error occured and the item could not be sent".
Whan I want to send via menu App-> Send, no dialog box. I stop the program and do again menu APP-> Send and the Palm reboots.
I soft reset with no change, and I don't what to hard reset if possible. Can someone tell the files/programs on the palm which control this service so I can check if I have them still on my device.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard driver disables Palm Tx Alarm function

    Dear Folks,
I have had a Palm TX for quite a while, and I use it frequently for e-mail and access on the road.  During a recent trip, my Universal I/R keyboard died, and I picked up a new Palm Bluetooth keyboard 3245WW.  I've noticed that when the keyboard driver is enabled, my Alarm function no longer works!  The Palm turns on at the appointed time, but unless one manually selects the "!" icon, the alarm never sounds.  This doesn't happen when the driver is disabled.  It took quite a while to figure this out...
It's interesting that when the bluetooth keyboard is apparently working fine and I'm inside of Versamail trying to answer a message, the first keystroke sometimes crashes the program and causes a soft reboot of the Palm.
Note:  I have left the IR driver on the Palm, but it is turned off.  I also have Documents to Go version 8.003 on the Palm.
Any ideas?  I have the most recent Bluetooth Driver (11.08).
    Thanks,
    Curt B.

    Hi brenec,
just curious, did you fix your problem? Did it resolve the problem with crashing the device?
I have the Bluetooth keyboard since about 2 weeks and in principle it is working great. However, I experienced that the Palm crashes and does a soft reboot more often than usual. In particular this happens when I am typing some text on the keyboard. As far as I can tell, this happens when writing text using Documents to Go 7.00?, but it might also happen in other applications; the problem is that I use the keyboard almost exclusively with Documents to Go.  Luckily this does not happen all the time, but on the other hand, I already lost text that I typed on the Palm.
One pecularity is (and that reminds me to the Alarm problem) that I noticed that the Palm switches on by itself. No alarms are showed or something similar, just the screen lights up. The Palm did this even before using the Bluetooth keyboard.
I use the keyboard quite often as some kind of daily journal and to think loud (brainstorming). I find the smallness of the device very nice and that the Palm is ready to work after switching on. I used the Universal Wireless Keyboard before and didn't had these crashes. I removed the old infrared keyboard driver, but I did not do a "spring clean".
Any idea? If I can't fix the problem, I need to go for an alternative platform after 10 years of having had a Palm device :-(

  • Missing Bluetooth Device in Windows 8.1

I recently purchased a Cyberpower PC Fangbook laptop with Windows 8.1. I reset the PC, but upon re-installation of Windows 8.1 from the accompanying disk, it could no longer connect to the internet. When I attempted to manually activate the device, I found
that it was missing (according to the device manager). As I understand, this actually means the driver is absent or something? Any clue what I'm supposed to do about this?

    Hi,
Did you install the right Bluetooth driver?
I suggest that you uninstall the driver and reinstall it to check the result.
Also, please download the latest version from manufacturer website.
