Hello,
i am not shure if is this more a Bug/Configuration Problem in Outlook 2013 or do i have something to consider?

  • Items in shared mailbox are not visible when using cached mode in Outlook 2013

    Hi all,
When using Outlook 2013 working with the users own mailbox works great, but when a user connects an additional mailbox to its mailbox, this mailbox is shown correctly, but it contains no items. The folder list is shown correctly, but there are no items to be
    seen.
These users (I have seen it with 3 different users and 2 shared mailboxes already) have full access to these mailboxes (Exchange 2010), but somehow the items aren't shown... When these users turn off cached mode, it works fine and when they use Outlook 2010
it also works fine, but using Outlook 2013 with cached mode will only show their own items and not the items in an additional shared mailbox.
What is the cause of all this?
    Kind regards,
    Erik

    Maybe something interesting...
    When looking at article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982697/en-us
I saw that Outlook 2013 by default caches everything and that's what I wanted. I tested however adding this regkey to see what happened and after that the email shows up in the mailboxes... Somehow the mail from shared mailboxes doesn't want to be
    cached...
Does anyone know what this could be? I want everything to be cached, also the shared mailboxes but somehow this doesn't work and it does when using Outlook 2010....

  • Can't turn on cached mode in Outlook 2013!

Seriously banging my head against the wall right now!
The option to turn on cached mode is greyed out and what ever I try it wont turn on!
GP settings are defined to enable it for new & existing profiles.
I have tired removing mail profiles & recreating.
I have created a new windows user profile.
I have removed and reinstalled Office 2013.
I have tried setting the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\OST\NoOST to 0.
    I have also tried the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurretnVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\13dbb0c8aa05101a9bb000aa002fc45a\00036601 to "84 01 00 00"
Am I missing somewhere really obvious?

    Hi,
I think you are using the correct registry setting as introduced in this library below:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179067.aspx
To use Cached Exchange Mode for new and existing Outlook profiles, we can also try the Group Policy:
    Group Policy registry path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\ outlook\cached mode!enable
Check the result if this can be configured then.

  • Upgrade DTSX packages from VS 2010 with SQL Server 2008 to VS 2013 and SQL Server 2014

    Hello everyone,
I’m very new to SSIS world. I’ve been assigned a task to upgrade the existing packages running in VS 2010 with SQL Server 2008 to VS 2013 and SQL Server 2014. And then submit the migration report to my client.

    Hello Arthur,
    Thank you for the response.
I just got an access of the packages. They are of VS 2008 and not 2010.
Do you know how to upgrade VS 2008 packaged to VS 2013?
When I tried to open the solution file in VS 2013, it says "incompatible".

  • Appointment Details are not shown in Outlook 2013 Calendar Schedule View

In Outlook 2013 Calendar one has got five standard views to view appointments and meetings:
Day, Work Week, Week, Month and Schedule view.
When hovering with the mouse over an appointment the details are shown in Day, Work Week, Week and Month view but
    not in Schedule view.
Is there any configuration setting to turn this feature on in Schedule view?
    Remarks:
    - In Outlook 2010 this problem does not occur.
    - Within the scheduling assistant, the details are shown in Outlook 2013 when hovering with the mouse.

    Hi,
I tested on my Outlook 2013 and got the same result. When hovering over an appointment, the details are shown in Day, Work Week, Week, Month, but it's not shown in Schedule View.
I haven't found such a setting to change this, it seems to be a product limitation so far.

  • Test-spcontentdatabase error with claims authentictaion mode in sharepoint 2013

I know this has been come up before but could not find any good answer so reposting . I am following Microfoft guide for upgrading Sp 2010 to Sp2013. Existing SP2010 sites use claims based authentication. I made backup of existing content database from
SP2010 farm, copied them to SP2013 farm and restored on database server. Also  created web applications on SP2013 farm also using claims based authentication from UI in Central Administration .
    After that I used
Test-SPContentDatabase cmdlet in order to check restored SP2010 content database against SP2013 web application and i am getting error
    Category        : Configuration
    Error           : False

Message         : The [SharePoint Primary - 443] web application is configured with claims authentication mode however the content database you are trying to attach is intended to be used against a windows classic authentication

Remedy          : There is an inconsistency between the authentication mode of target web application and the source web application. Ensure that the authentication mode setting in upgraded web application is the
same as what you had in previous
SharePoint 2010 web application. Refer to the link "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=236865"

Any idea on how to resolve and why am i getting this error ?

Now at this point you can just attach the database to either web application and notice that it will still upgrade. If you want run the ps command:
    convert-spwebapplication -identity
    http://nameofyourwebapp -to claims -retainpermissions
    which will update the
web app and the users.  After that check the web application user policy for verification.  Make sure to add the
    spsuperreader and
spsuperuser accounts too.  I had some issues where I had to re enter the site collection owners in CA and the site collection.
If you're getting a constant pop up for credentials I would check to make sure that the sites are "trusted" in IE through group policy and set it up with a wildcard (*) to cover all sites.  Ex:
    http://*.yourdomainname.com

  • Print out all contacts with all info showing in Outlook 2013

In Outlook 2013, if you click the Contacts group you want to print, then go to File...Print, the only option is to essentially print the view you have when clicking into the People menu.
How can I print out every contact showing all the info in each contact?

    Hi,
Do you want to print each contact into each printout page with all the info? If so, you can try printing using the
Memo Style. To do this, click the contact group you want to print, select one contact and then press Ctrl + A to select all contacts in the contact group. Then, click File > Print. Under
Settings in the Print tab, select Memo Style. Click
    Print.

    Hi Epsi,
According to your description, the issue seems that your shared mailbox can’t be updated automatically. If your shared mailbox is added as an additional mailbox via
the Exchange email account’s Advanced tab (using the
Open these additional mailboxes option) or via Auto-Mapping,
please check the following settings in Outlook:
    1. Open Outlook, click File > Account Settings
    > Account Settings.
    2. Click Change and make sure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.
    3. Click More Settings > Advanced tab. Make sure use Cached Exchange Mode is checked and uncheck Download shared folders to use shared folder in Online mode.
    4. Click Apply > OK > Next > Finish.
Then restart Outlook to check whether the issue persists.

  • Issues with the color category in Outlook 2013 mail

We use Microsoft Outlook at work where we have the same email account on a few computers. The color categories have been very useful, especially when more than one person is working with the same email account, to indicate who is supposed to do what and
what have already been dealt with. So when we upgraded our computers to Windows 7 and installed Microsoft Office 2013 it was very frustrating to find out that the color categories dosen't sync between computers.
Does anybody have a solutions to fix this problem?

Categories sync between computers but when you use a shared mailbox, colors aren't shared, except between owners. Each person has to maintain their own color category list for the shared mailbox. There are utilities you can use (or use macros) to
    share colors.

  • Retrieve Message body from an appoitment by SOAP

    Hello,
I am trying to retrieve all the appointment from a specific user by GWSOAP. I use the getItemsRequest method. I specify as container the Appointment folder.
I retrieve all the appointment. But I cannot retrieve the message body from the appointment. Anybody can help me and explain me how I can retrieve it ?
    Thanks,
    Sebastien

By default, only the data from the user item in the
user's database is returned. The user item is linked
to a common item (that all users share). That common
item has links to the attachments of the item (which
    the message body is one).
In the view, you have to explicitly ask for attachments
/ message body. A common view is:
    "default attachments message peek"
default - Get all of the fields of the user's item.
attachments - Return the information about the attachments.
Note: You then have to read the attachment
    data separately.
message - Return the message body.
Note: If the message body is greater than 64KB,
you will only get the id of the message body.
You will need to read the message body the
same way you read the other attachments.
peek - Return the message body, but don't mark the item as
    read.
Note: If you are reading more that about 20 items, you should
use the cursor calls instead of getItemsRequest.
There is more information in the documentation.

  • Outlook 2013: Imported or copied items from .pst file disappear after a few seconds

I am migrating from an open source email platform (Axigen) to Outlook/Exchange 2013. The Axigen system uses a connector for Outlook allowing users to use Outlook as a client.
To move from Outlook 2010 with the Axigen server to Outlook 2013 with Exchange I have exported the entire mailbox from Outlook 2010 to a .pst file which I am then trying to import into Outlook 2013.
The import process appears to complete successfully and the imported items show up in Outlook 2013 - but only for a second or two. Then they disappear completely, nowhere to be found. This happens with  ontacts, emails and calendar items and the result
is the same whether I import the entire mailbox or just a folder at a time.
If I OPEN the .pst file into Outlook 2013 everything in it looks perfectly OK, I can view items with no problems, all folders are there with their correct content. Now if I try to move or copy
items from the opened .pst file into the Outlook 2013 mailbox, I get the exact same symptoms as when importing. Items show for a couple of seconds and then disappear. If I copy or move a
folder, the folder remains in the Outlook 2013 folder tree but the items in it disappear.
Why would items be perfectly visible and readable from an opened .pst file but disappear when they are copied into the new 2013 mailbox?
They are not visible in OWA either, btw, so this is not just Outlook not displaying them, they are really gone. Checking the folder size in Outlook shows an empty folder (size 0, 0 messages). I have tried the /cleanviews switch when starting Outlook.
This has me completely stumped. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    More strangeness:
I set up an Android phone to sync with this account just now. I imported my contacts list from the phone into the Exchange account. After sync, all the contacts are perfectly visible on the phone, but NOT in Outlook 2013 or in OWA...
So maybe it is some sort of display filter thing after all?
That's unbelieveable that message is visiable in Android phone through Exchange ActiveSync but cannot be viewd in OWA...
For the database session, we may enable
Exchange Mailbox Audit logging(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff461937(v=exchg.150).aspx) to check if the message is indeed upload into DB from Outlook.
For the client level, please enable Outlook logging to log what happens inside outlook to aid in your troubleshooting.
We can enable Outlook logging in Outlook 2013 under File > Options > Advanced > "Other" section
Log files are created as .etl files and stored in %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp.  A new log file is created each time Outlook starts.

Okay, I have enabled Outlook logging. However I cannot find any way to read those .etl files.
I also enabled audit logging in Exchange but as I understand it that will not log operations performed by the mailbox owner, only non-owner access.
I think I am close to giving up on this. I can't believe an enterprise email platform will simply delete messages copied into a mailbox without any error message whatsoever, and no way for an admin to track what is happening.
It is definitely happening when syncing with Exchange, so there must be something in these items (and
remember this happens not only to email messages, but also to Contacts) that makes the Exchange server decide these messages should be discarded witout warning.
One other thing: Folders copied from the .pst are visible on Outlook (although their contents are deleted) but not on ActiveSync clients. If I create a new folder in the mailbox, it syncs as it should.

  • Is Outlook 2013 incompatible with BB Link

I just upgraded my Laptop to a Lenovo X1 Carbon with windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 .
I'm trying to do a 1 way sync from my Q10 to Outlook contacts which i used to do with my previous W7 laptop with no issues .
When i connect my Q10 to BB Link i only get the option of syncing with Windows Contacts , no matter what i do i can't change this option to Outlook contacts .
Did anyone face a similar issue ?

I use Outlook 365 (probably same as 2013) on Win 8.1 and I had no problems once I had set up Outlook, syncing to my Z30 via Link.
It worked fine for about 5 months, but then the last 6 months I can only sync Calendar info. Contacts will not sync.
There are reasons that some point to that require some heavy lifting in the Registry and deleting certain contacts data, but I have choosen to limp along until either Link is fixed or maybe some other alternative is available (Blend?)
    We're all out here together...
