Missing book from collections

I have just made a large book of 440 photos and text and exported it to Blurb. It was sitting ing the collections box as are other books I have done.  There was a quality problem with the printing and Blurb are happy to redo it.  But the book has disappeared from my computer the only thing I can find with an extensive search is a PDF of the cover. Any ideas as there was a lot of work in this project.

Not sure where your problem is but try this: Under the collections folder in the library module you should see your book. This is not the collection itself but instead is next to a small book logo under the particular collection that contained your photos that you used in the book. If you don't see it hit the arrow to the left of the collection and you should see the book in a folder below that collection. If you double click on that it will open the book and there you will have an opportunity to edit, add pages, etc. If you just click on the collection itself and then go to the book module it will act as though you're creating an entirely new book from that collection, so you actually have to open the book itself.
