Missing browsing history on iPad mini

I cleared my browsing history after I noticed it wasnt updating , was just stuck on the same old sites. Now I cant get any history, when I tap on the clock it brings me back to the "empty" history window .i recently also updated to 7.0.6, however it seems I had a problem before this update.....Ive seen others have issues but nothing has applied to me, nor fixed it.

Ok, but as i said, if you cleared that history, there is no history to view.
Have you made sure private browsing is off when you are browsing.
The easiest way to tell is if the url line is black text on white - private is off
white text on black - private is on.
you can also check settings-safari
for the do not track option- should be gray for off

  • Timestamp for browsing history on iPad mini?

How can I find out what "Time" the browsing history was created? (Is he staying up too late?).

This is not a built in feature as far as I can tell.
You can try the following assuming you sync the device to iTunes with unencrypted backups… (I'm also assuming you are on a Mac).
Sync the device with iTunes to create a new backup.
Use iPhone backup Extractor to export the Safari data to a folder. It is 'com.apple.mobilesafari' in the list.
    http://supercrazyawesome.com
Navigate into the exported folder & find the history file…
    com.apple.mobilesafari/Library/Safari/History.plist
Open that in a 'Plist Editor' (either use the free Xcode editor from Apple for free or find another like http://plistinator.com).
Dig into the entries until you find a last visited date - like 432835561.604884
This date is the time in seconds since January 1st 2001 -  to make it easier to convert you can make it into a 'Unix Timestamp' by adding 978307200 to it as explained at the bottom of… http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20184385/how-to-convert-iphone-ios-nsdate-tim estamp-using-python
Pop that into a Unix timestamp converter & you should get the date.
    http://www.unix-timestamp-converter.com
As you can see this is complex - it could be automated via scripts - there are tools built into the OS to convert and read plists and handle date conversions etc.
Personally I'd look at other solutions such as turning off wifi on the router or ways to apply rules that block the device at the router. The reason for using the router is because the child may just use Chrome or another browser (or play games instead) which will scupper all of the above.  Of course if the device has cellular data you can't monitor that.
There comes a point where you simply need to trust the kid is doing as they claim.

How can I open and close private browsing using an iPad mini in ios7?

Tap the '+' to the right of the URL field to open a new tab, and at the bottom left of the screen there should be a 'Private' button - tap that and you can then go to the site that you want to go to

  • How do I find out the time of my browsing history in iPad Safari

    Dear all,
I require a detail of my own iPad browsing history, here is my problem:
My MBP got stolen recently and have a personal cloud service installed on it.  Just checked my cloud server and found a odd IP-address record, just need to confirm if I have accessed my cloud account at that time on my iPad or possible was originated from the stolen MBP.
Cloud server indicated showed activity from one recognised IP from my own house @20.38 and an unknow IP @23.38
Hence I want to check the exact time that I visit the cloud service via my Safari browser (iPad), but as far as I could get is all the browsing history are grouped by date and I cannot find the time information, can anyone helps?
    Thanks

There is no built in way to see the time in the Safari Browsing history. There may be a third party computer application that would allow you to extract the information from the iPad, but the function is not built into the iOS.

  • Missing contacts on my iPad mini

    Hello,
I recently got a new iPad mini. After setting it up, I logged in to my iCloud account. To my surprise, some of the contacts from my iPhone appeared on my iPad, but some didn't. I backed up my iPhone again to iCloud, and then downloaded the contacts again from iCloud on my iPad, but nothing has changed.
Anyone heard of the problem and knows how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

I also checked on iCloud.com, and the contacts that were missing on my iPad were missing on iCloud.com as well.

  • How to restore deleted safari browsing history on iPad 1

How do I restore the Safari browsing history on an iPad 1?  When I click on the "open book" symbol and go to "history" there is nothing there.  Need to check on what sites have been visited.

Private browsing is not one of my options.  It says "general" at the top, then:
    search engine
    autoFill
    Always Show Bookmarks Bar
Then, "Security" is next and under it:
    Fraud warning
    Javascript
    Block Pop ups
    Accept cookies
    Clear History

  • Unable to delete browsing history

How to totally delete browser history on iPad?

That is the same problem I'm having w/the iPad. I am using the security to limit the websites I visit yet settings -> safari and Safari history will not allow the ability to clear the history. This will eventually bog down the performance of the iPad.

  • Error connect Local IP, only ipad MINI

I made an app that connects to a Local Ip, for example a server 192.168.1.100 on port 210, the app on the Ipad2 and Ipad3 works, ie it finds the IP and connects, but the Ipad Mini it does not find the local IP to connect, it just finds the IP internet, and it is online with ip correct location. Anyone know what can be?

There are a number of methods to set up this printer. Of them, without using a Mac or PC, you basically have one option and that is to access the printer's embedded web server via the Safari browser on the iPad mini.
More details on how to do this can be found in the User Guide for this printer, starting on page 198.

  • Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slowAny ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
    1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
    2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
    3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
    Optional:
    1) in the settings, go to safari.
    2) clear all history and cookies/data
    3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it!

  • Safari bookmarks are missing when ipad mini updated to ios 8.0

Safari book marks missing when ipad updated to ios 8.0

    Sure, no problem.
Before the IOS 8 update, Apple's offsite file storage system for iWork was called "iCloud".  I had dozens of Numbers files stored on this system.
Under the new IOS/Yosemite regime, the offsite file storage system for iWork (and now all kinds of other files, too) is called "iCloud Drive".
When I upgraded my iPad Mini to IOS 8, I selected "Upgrade to iCloud Drive" instead of "Not Now" because I accepted the fact that I would only be able to access my iWork documents on my Mini and the iCloud web interface, but NOT my Macbook (running Mavericks).
But now it looks like my Numbers files were not migrated for some reason.  They are not available on my iPad Mini or the iCloud browser interface.
I called my wife at home to have her boot up the MacBook and try to access a few important Numbers files.  She was able to open them and save a copy of each of them to the Macbook's local hard drive.  So I guess my most urgent problem has been contained (I think I may have access to my Numbers files on my laptop), but it is still an open question why all my Pages files migrated from (the old) "iCloud" to (the new) "iCloud Drive" and my Numbers files didn't.
    Clear as mud?

My ipad mini doesn't have a web browser! Help. I can't access the internet or iTunes or the app store. The web browser icon isn't even there.Anyone know what to do?

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
    All else fails? Restore it.

  • I'm trying to move a folder full of "web archive" files to my IPad Mini. It says device missing services. Any ideas?

Hey all! Recently got an IPad Mini. Already have a Macbook. I have a folder full of songs(lyrics and chords) on the Mac. The file type inside the folder are all "Web Archive". I am trying to transfer this folder to my Mini, via Bluetooth. It won't allow me to transfer, it says "device missing services"? I have no idea what this means. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

You can't transfer files to another device using bluetooth.
I'm not really sure you can transfer web archives from mac to iOS device using itunes or icloud.  Remember, on an iOS device, any file has to belong to an app.  The device does not have a file system like the mac where you can move files into any folder you want.

  • Is there any way to View video with HTML5 video browser, as from wikipedia articles, on my IPad mini?, Is there any way to View video with HTML5 video browser, as from wikipedia articles, on my IPad mini?

I do a lot of research using Wikipedia articles.  Sometimes those articles have video attached.  When I click on the play button of the image, it opens a floating window with the first frame of the video, but it's not moving. A thin banner at the top of it me: "For a better video playback experience we recommend a [ HTML5 video browser".  And touching the play button ( hoping it might play anyway) has no effect. It will not play.
Is HTML5 a PC/Windows only format? Or is there an App that will alow me to use these videos on my  iPad mini?  I've spend 6 hours already trying to find out what I can do about this, and I've made zero progress.  I've checked out a handful of apps in the app store, and don't even know what I'm looking at.  I got the Wikipedia app for mobile devices, and it doesn't offer the videos in the truncated articles it provides.  I've spoken to several Apple techs at the Applecare phone number, and no one there seems to know anything about it.
surely, I can't be the only one with this issue.  Please comment, please help.  Thank you all.

    Dear Bob,
I downloader a VLS Streamer from the Apple app store.  It requires some kind of helper software to run, which, as far as I can tell from the video at the developer's site, allows one to download content from one's mobile device to their computer.  Since I don't have a compatible computer for my iPad to link to, the instructions don't help my situation.  I emailed them with my query and will probably hear from them sometime this week.
I've lived with this problem for the 3 months I've had my iPad, and I'll keep after it until I have a solution.  But right now, I've run out of steam.  If this lead helps me to resolve my issue, I'll come back and HELPFUL or RESOLVED every response you've given.  I'm very grateful for your help.  Sorry I'm so utterly clueless.
Thanks once again.  Please don't cringe if I get back to you another day.

  • Sci-15c purchased app survived the upgrade to ios 6.1.2 on ipad3 and iphone 4s, but missing on ipad mini.  App store doesn't show app and it doesn't appear on my purchases.  Whats the point of icloud and the app store?  Help please.

Why is the excellent hp-15c emulator, sci-15c, which I purchased years ago, missing from my ios upgraded ipad and not shown in my purchased apps nor in the store?
The app did get properly reatored to my other ipad 2 and 3 and iphone 4s
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Check iTunes on the computer you normally sync with. The app might still be there and you could sync it back onto your iPad mini. Then see if it still works on the most recent iPads.

  • How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad?

How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad 2?

Settings > Safari > Clear History (and Clear Cookies And Data if you want to clear them as well).
If you also want to clear your search history (i.e. the words/phrases that you've typed in the search box) then you may also need to close Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
