Missing cables.....

Missing cables.....< ?This is a current subject of EXTREME frustration for me. A whille back I purchsed an X-Fi Elite Pro sound card on a special deal with Creative HS-900 headphones. A month or so later I went ahead and purchsed the X-Fi I/O Consloe Upgrade Kit. I own the 500w THX ?Pro Gamer speakers also. The problem is, I con't use the console because the upgrade kit doesn't come with the 9-pin DIN volume control cable!!
!!! I tried to find a 2-male end cable and?had no luck..my search included New Egg, Best Buy, Radio Shack, CablesToGo.com, Fry', ?Micro Center and this site!! ?It is included in the X-Fi Elite Pro Audio Solution product so I know Creative has the darn thing. I tried e-mail to support and the phone #, absolutely NO LUCK. Furthermore, I own a PCI Express Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Professional Series sound card. I was thinking about buying the X-Fi Titanium I/O upgrade kit for that, but...guess what? It doesn't come with the two (digital & analog) cables to connect the sound card to the dri've!? What's up with this?

  • Missing cable new iphone 5

I just bought the New Iphone 5 from Verizon but its missing the lightning cable. What can I do now?

I'm missing the cable as well.  Pre-ordered the 16GB in black from Verizon and received it yesterday afternoon.  Opened up the box and to my dismay there was no cable.  Now think about this-this is a MAJOR inconvenience so all of us stuck in this situation really can't do anything with the phone.  If we activate it, our old phone will be removed from our accounts and then we have an iPhone 5 that will probably last abour 7 or 8 hours with modest use.  Then what?  Wait a few weeks until the cable is available in stores?
@Riley3233-you need to hammer Verizon until they get you in touch with Apple.  In my case I called Verizon customer support, sat on hold for about 15 minutes while the rep looked into it and then she conferenced in an Apple rep.  He then went on to process a "repair" order to have the cable shipped out to me.  There is no excuse, they HAVE to give you a cable.  If you're close to an Apple store you might want to try to make an appointment with the Genius bar and bring in your phone with the box and other accessories and explain the situation to them.
Now in and of itself the whole notion that we would have to make an appointment to get a missing accessory for our new device is just rediculous.  Each of us should be able to walk in to any Apple store, explain our plight, and walk out with the missing cable no questions asked.  Apple, are you listening?  I suspect you're about to get a lot more reports of this happening.  The fact that you released a phone that has a newly redesigned cable that's necessary for charging, and you pretty much have none available in stores at launch is pretty poor business planning.
    Good luck!

  • IP address missing, cable company says its my iMac

We've have Road Runner high-speed access for more than a year, no problems.
Last week, we started getting "You are not connected to the Internet," or REALLY slow/incomplete downloads, but it was hit or miss. Called the cable company, they had me reset the modem, and we were able to connect. But then, the same problems started happening. Called back, and their Level 3 tech person had me try to reset/fix the network settings. We got as far as naming a new location, and choosing Ethernet, but the IP address is no longer in the field. We tried again, restarted, no connection. I'm kind of afraid I/we messed something up in doing the reset, but not sure.
Also, I don't think this is connected, but I had to reinstall the system software last weekend because I tried to download an OSX update from one of the those "New Software is Available" messages, and the system completely froze on restart. But, I didn't lose any files, and I was able to get back online after that happened, so I don't think that's part of the problem.
Please help...the company I work for is on the block, and I can't afford not to have email at home if I suddenly find myself without an office.

Sorry...should have mentioned that last night, the cable guy came out and replaced the modem and cable. Still no connection.

  • Adding a second internal drive: missing cable?

I recently purchased a Quad G5, to which I want to add a second internal drive. However, when I opened up the unit, only the smaller power supply cable was present. The wider controller cable seems no where to be found. I pulled the drive from my Dual G5, so I'm aware where the cable is SUPPOSED to be located. But nada. Has anyone had a similar experience? Did they short me a cable or is the thing hidden somewhere where I can't find it?

I recently installed a second internal HD and found both cables, but you have to look for them. One of the cable/plugs is located below where the HD goes. You probably found it right away. You just need to pull it out a little to plug it into the new HD. It's kind of an awkward angle but it seemed secure. The second cable is probably the one you're having trouble with. The original HD is plugged into the last plug on the cable. Unplug it from the original HD and pull it down and out. You'll find a second plug (in series) on the cable. Plug the original HD into the plug you just discovered and use the original plug for the new HD. Hope this helps!

  • Tecra 8100 - missing tv-out cable

    Hello.
I have recently bought a Tecra 8100 laptop. Unfortunately there is no tv-out cable included.
According to the manual (ie. here: http://www.microdom.by/olddata/pdfspec/tecra_8100.pdf) the tv-out port provides a s-video (NTSC/PAL) signal via 3,5mm mini jack port.
The missing cable should be a RCA conversion cable.
Can anyone please tell me if there any specific requirements that such cable needs to meet? It's not hard to get an audio mini-jack to 2xRCA conversion cable, but this one obviously does not transmit the video signal.
    Any clues?
I'm working on Win XP SP2, the graphic card installed is S3 Savage/MX.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

    Hi mate,
I know that cable; its a rare accessoire of the Tecra 8100. The problem is, that the 3.5" mini-jack has its own format, so, it will only adapt from 1x 3,5" to 1x RCA.
Such cables can be either found on Ebay, or you contact an ASP (authorized service partner) which could surely send you such cable for some low money...
Heres a link (if you need it) to find the nearest ASP in your country:

  • MISSING FIREWIRE CABLE

Was given 20 gb classic ipod second hand from family member who has lost the firewire cable. I synced ipod with my itunes (on my pc) and updated it and now it's asking me to complete the update by plugging it in via the ipod power adapter, which I have. Just missing cable. Suggestions?! (other than buying a new cable which I'd like to avoid!)

Plug it into an unit such as the iPod Hi-Fi, or try this method, or take it to an AASP.

  • Cable Between Physical Input and Seq. Input Disappears By Itself

Today, inexplicably, while recording routine MIDI overdubs on a cue, I suddenly lost MIDI thru from my master keyboard thru Logic to my MIDI racks. MIDI tracks played fine, but no MIDI thruput.
Tested the MIDI interfaces, AMS, rebooted the computer and the interfaces, all the usual stuff. Couldn't find any reason why I suddenly lost thruput.
It was only because I was at my wit's end that I decided to look at the Clicks and Ports Layer in the Environment to see if anything "somehow" got weird. And sure enough... the cable between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input had disappeared. Gone. Vanished. Deleted.
How this could have happened without my deliberately going into the Environment, selecting the Clicks and Ports Layer and purposely deleting the cable connection is totally beyond me. This has got to be one of the weirdest behaviors I've seen. And just remember everyone, "weird" is an anagram for "wired" which, unfortunately, proved not to be the case.
Anyone else ever have this happen? Any ideas as to what might have caused this?

    Amin,
I've thought along these lines too, surmising that: items (or data) which were selected/highlighted in various windows at various times were somehow still subject to such actions as Delete, Cut, or Clear, despite the fact that those windows were currently closed. Now, I rarely (closer to "never") have need to visit the Clicks/Ports layer of the Environment, let alone tinker with the connection between phys input and seq input such that that cable might ever remain in a "selected" or "highlighted" state to begin with.
But in an effort to troubleshoot the missing cable scenario according to this theory, I deliberately highlighted the cable, closed that window, and continued working. I was hoping that at some point during normal editing operations I might lose my MIDI thruput again (because it got cut/deleted/cleared in association with a cut/delete/clear operation of another event or object) and then backtrack through the Undo History hoping to discover what operation caused it.
Well, 1.5 days later, after intensive editing of the same sequence (which ended up becoming quite complex) the cable stayed intact! So to a certain extent I think perhaps my theory is wrong, but I'm keeping an open mind.
But something valuable came out of this... considering LPH/David's information, I think that from now on I'm going to eliminate the physical input and sequencer input objects from my environment; they've proven to be a liability. And it's easy enough to add them to a song in the event I want to do some MIDI processing on Logic's input side.
I'd like to respond to your thoughts on floating windows in a separate post.
    Cheers Amin!

  • Lenovo B590 missing wireless antenna

    Hi!
Alright, so I have been investigating some problems with wireless functionality on these Laptops.
I have 3 B590's in my production environment and many users complain about the poor wireless performance.
After rummaging through some other threads on this forum, I found a few threads that matched the issues I was having and many pointed to a need to open the case and reseat (or in my case seat) the antenna pigtail onto the wifi card.
So I pop open my case, easily locate the wireless card and find that my antenna connection isn't even seated on the wireless card.  *fail lenovo*.  This is a laptop that was unboxed and fired up not even a month ago.
Anywho, the real problem/concern I have hear is that there is only one (1) antenna connection. In all my experiance with wireless hardware, their should always be two (2) connecters.  I found a hardware maintenance manual for the B590
    http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/b590_hmm_en.pdf
that clearly shows on pages 50 and 77 two antenna connectors.  I also found a few independent YouTube videos of people who brokedown B590 laptops fresh out of the box and in these videos I clearly saw two antenna connections (one white calbe, one black cable).  On the laptop sitting in my lap, I only have the black connector.
So.....where is my second antenna connection?

Also, and I hope this doesn;t sound rude, but I am not looking for community advise unless its pointing me toward a statement made by Lenovo.  I am hoping that someone with Lenovo will reply to this.
But if anyone has experianced the same issue, or has an idea where I can find this missing cable in the case somewhere feel free to chime in.  But I am looking to get some offical word (previously stated or otherwise) from Lenovo on this one.

  • Solution for blinking yellow LED despite the fact it works

I've seen a bunch of questions/comments about frustrations about having blinking yellow LEDs even when everything seems to work.
    Here's how to fix this:
    1) Launch AirPort Utility
    2) Select your base station in the list at the left
    3) Select "Manual Setup" from the "Base Station" menu.
    4) When you get the summary, there will be a little Yellow LED in summary (not talking about the list on the left). Click on it!
    5) You will now see a list of the problems causing the base station consternation and you grief because little blinky LEDs drive you folks nuts. Some of the problems listed here should be addressed and some of them are because you deliberately chose to configure your base station this way.
    6) Fix any issues listed that sound ominous.
    7) For any remaining issues, check the "Do not show this warning again" if you don't want the base station to worry about the issues you don't care about. (For example if you insist on using "public" for your base station password and having an open network, bless you...I love free wireless)
If you see warnings about IP Addresses, bad disks, missing cables, etc. you probably should fix it.

Strangely, when I look at the Utility, all hardware has a Green dot.
But the Extreme is still blinking yellow.
The only problem I am having currently is the connection to the attached HD is dropping occasionally, requiring a reboot.

  • Where to buy Canon original accessories ??

The original boxes with some accessories of my new purchase. 7D Mk2 and 24 70 F4IS were taken by somebody from my front porch. (My bad. I put the Canon boxes inside a snow thrower box. The big box was left outside the front porch pending sorting for disposal and it was gone in an hour)
Now, I just have the camera and lens plus chargers and caps. Everything else is gone.
I am looking to buy back whatever is missing. I have emailed Canon e-store but have not received reply from them. Any suggestions where to buy back the missing cable protector, USB cable, disc, lens hood, lens pouch and others.
    Thanks for any experience shared.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm trying to figure out what "everything else" is that's gone missing.
The lens would have included a storage bag, the lens hood, and a front & back cap.  It would have also included an instruction sheet (you can download that electronically) and the warranty card (but you can register that online and don't need the card.)
You can get a list of everything that would have been in the box here:  http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_7d_mark_ii#BoxContent
    Basically it would have had
    - camera body (which you have)
    - body cap (not sure if you have that, but that's easily replaced)
    - Canon wide strap for 7D II (and this would have had a small rubber eyepiece cover on the strap for taking long exposure shots.  But if you've attached that to the camera -- and most people do -- then I suspect you still have that.
    - Battery charger LC-E6 (but I think you said you have that)
    - Battery LP-E6N (but I suspect that was probably in your camera if you have the camera - so hopefully that's fine)
    - USB interface cable (you probably lost that, but fortunately it's easily replaced and it's a standard cable you could pick up most anywhere.  Just make sure the USB cable has the USB "mini" connector on the camera side AND that (very important) the cable is not a "charging" cable.  These cables are often used for charging mobile phones and those cables typically don't wire the data pins... just the power pins.  The camera needs a cable with "data" pins.
    - Digital Solutions Disk (downloadable at Canon website - no loss there.  In fact the download is probably more current than the disk.)
    - Instruction manual (also downloadable)
    - Warranty card (but you can register the camera online and do not need the physical warranty card.)

  • Viewsonic VX2255 Monitor Microphone

I am trying to use the microphone and webcam built into my Viewsonic VX2255 monitor. The web cam works fine using the provided USB input, however the audio setup has proved more troublesome. This second hand monitor didn't come with the proprietary audio cable described as a MIC+ Audio part CB-00008217 , with one 3.5MM connector for the monitor splitting into an Audio Out & Mic In connector to the sound card. Viewsonic has been no helping having discontinued support. I attempted using a converter that's supposed to adapt headsets to smartphones http://www.amazon.com/Headset-Buddy-Adapter-Smartphone-01-PH35-PC35/dp/B00332DPDG/ref=pd_sim_pc_1, by doing exactly what the proprietary cable should do, coverting Audio Output and Microphone input into one 3.5mm connection, unfortunately this hasn't worked. Does anyone have any suggestions for a workaround to use my monitor microphone, or will I just have to get a peripheral or headset or try to scrounge up the missing cable?

I tried a new monitor driver but no luck. Then it dawned on me that when I tested the monitor on another system I was using a different cable. Turns out the problem was the cable.
Should have been one of the first things I checked ....

  • How do I import contacts from an old nokia phone into an iPhone?

I was wondering if anyone knew how I could import a .CSV file containing 79 contacts "<First Name><Last Name><Phone Number>" into an iPhone 4S and have those fields populate into the "Contacts" folder of the iPhone?
I basically have an ancient Nokia that has all my contacts in it. The teenager with a lip ring was unable to import my contact because they were missing cable 102 for their little import/export device. And if I am going to have to manually key in all my contacts, I'd rather do it on an Excel Spreadsheat and save it as a .CSV file than sit there for 2 hours going bling typing into an iPhone.
Anyone have a solution for this?

You should be able to import the CSV file into a contact program such as Outlook and then sync that to the iPhone.

  • Verizon Sent My Replacement Router to the Wrong Address; Now Saying They'll Bill Me for It

On Saturday, my cable modem started rebooting spontaneously, every hour or two. When I called Customer Support on Monday, they said it was unsuccessfully trying to install new firmware, and would keep rebooting for the foreseeable future. Customer Support agreed to send me a new modem; I was to get it on Tuesday, 12/10.
When I checked the UPS status site on Tuesday afternoon, it said the cable modem had been delivered to my house at 11 AM on Tuesday. It hadn't, at least not to my address. When I called Verizon, the agent told me they wouldn't send me another one as they'd already sent it to me. When I pressed the point because my home network still wasn't up, the agent told me my only option was to drive 20 miles to a Verizon Fios office and exchange my bad cable modem for a good one. I did that last night (3 hours of my time, $6 in gas). So after four days my home network is back up. That's good.
The bad news is I was told at the Verizon store (and my earlier call) that I would be charged for any unreturned cable modem (my guess is $100). In other words, according to Verizon I have the missing modem ("We sent it to you, sir; and you seem to think it's not your job to track it down. If I were you, I'd find it."), and so will be charged for it. I called UPS this morning, and discovered that they delivered the cable modem to the wrong address -- it went to River ROAD rather than River STREET. They have started an investigation, and if it turns out the cable modem is lost, they will reimburse Verizon. My question is, How do I notify Verizon that UPS lost the modem, so that Verizon should be getting the cost from them, not me? Given the unhelpful nature of the Verizon agents I've dealt with (the common refrain is, "I'm sorry, I can't help you with that, sir"), I know I will be charged for the missing cable modem unless I can figure out who in the Verizon bureaucracy to talk to. Any suggestions?
The funny thing is, several weeks ago I was considering paying Verizon for the 100 Mbps Internet service. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to avoid paying $100 for a cable modem I don't have when I close out my Verizon service and move over to Comcast in the next several weeks. It's going to be a pain to move, but frankly, I have better things to do than deal with "that's not my job" people for hours on end.
