Missing calls and messages

My old phone use to give a continual beep signal when there was a message waiting. This one does not. Just a little icon up top. I don't walk around with my phone in my hand all day (got a life!). So I have been missing messages in a timely manner! Anyone know how to get or turn on that function with this phone?

You will need a third party application from the Play Store. Try searching for "missed calls".

Aside from the very small green light in the upper right corner (Bionic) - is there a way to get audio notifications for missed calls and texts? I'm missing a lot of calls and texts because I'm not checking the screen constantly. Thanks!

I am not sure about the Bionic phone specifically but I am pretty sure there should be notification sounds.
My phone, the Droid 2 global has ringtons, and notification sounds separately.
Have you tried looking in the sound settings?

I would like to know if anyone has found a way to have the iphone notify its user that emails are waiting for them to read on the locked screen similar to the way missed calls and SMS messages pop up when received.
If not - can someone at Apple please come up with a way to do this? I don't like having to unlock the phone to check to see if new emails are waiting for me.

There is not a way since this is not an option with the iPhone. You can have the new mail sound and vibrate enabled for when a new message is received.

Calls and messaging stop working and need to reboot phone...

I have an iPhone 3GS with 3.1.3 installed on it. I have had no major issues since purchased about a year ago. Recently (in last week or so) I have noticed that I miss calls and suddenly have vmail. Also, when I try to make a call it keeps failing and text messages will not go out. When I check my network connection for AT&T I have full bars. I am also connected with 3G or wireless at home when this happens. I have noticed if I power on and off the phone it starts to send/receive calls/texts again. I have not found any reason or timeframe between the issue but it seems to be more consistent now. Could this be OS or some APP problem? My phone has plenty of memory, battery, etc. Appreciate any advice or feedback as I am hoping to not have to wipe the phone if possible. Thanks!

In "do not disturb" mode, I need it to never silent calls and messages

I'm trying to figure this out, not that I'm on call again. Since "Do Not Disturb" has been out I have had my phone set to auto turn on nightly. Allowing Call and messages to come though. Thinking that was the case I never thought anymore of it. Last night I got a high ticket and miss it because it was in "Do Not Disturb".
So even thought it's set to allow all calls they still get blocked? Is there was to have the IOS7 Silent feature turned off. I have e-mails and other crap getting push to my phone for my pebble so I don't want to turn that off, just make the quite at night.
Am I SOL?
Any info on this would be great.

Hi,
You can turn the email arrival sound off in the settings. Thus you can still get phone calls but no email arrival sounds. more over, you can turn the notification for the emails off (at least make it no sound).
And I think do not disturb just mutes the rings for text or calls. it doesn't actually blocking them.

The first troubleshooting steps I would recommend in this situation would be restarting and if the issue continues, resetting the iPhone.

The short solution is to go to Settings > FaceTime > iPhone Cellular Calls OFF.
However, as Csound points out, you should not really be sharing an Apple ID with anyone. See: How to Stop Sharing an Apple ID.

Have you talked to your carrier (or your friend to his)? Could be an issue at their end.

I have Iphone 4s from UK. I am using turbo sim (R-Sim) in it. I was able to surf net on 7.0.4 , But as i updated to 7.0.6 it is not connecting to net , I am able to make calls and messages , my network is also showing VODAFONE 3G

You have hacked your phone with Turbo SIM. You cannot get any help here for hacked phones. Contact the place/person who sold you the SIM. Surely, they have support services, don't they?

Hi Shijo,
Is this affecting only one 7942 IP phone or all of them? if this is affecting all then you may try ta firmware upgrade. If this is only affecting one of them then you can compare the settings of this phone with the working ones or try setting the phone to factory defaults.

Not showing missed calls and dropping calls

I have had a Thunderbolt for several months now and I have had a problem with missed calls not showing up and voice mail showing up with missed calls, I have talked to tech and reported this and I received a refurbished phone and still have the same problem any know issues with this?

Why can't I block a number through the call and message blocking request?
