Missing Certified PDF.api file

Acrobat 9 with Pitstop 8 running on OSX 9.2 displays the message Missing Certified PDF.api and fails to launch Pitstop. How do I remedy this problem?

You need to contact Enfocus support, you can drop them an email at [email protected]
If you are running 9.2 it might be that the OS is not supported, You can check the PitStop system requirements here.

  • OLE Object Missing in PDF/HTML File

    Hi,
I am storing excel sheet as an OLE object in database in Long Raw field. When i run report it shows that OLE object but when i try to convert it into PDF or HTML format it does not show that OLE object. Is there any workaround that we can use to store that excel sheet on users local drive?

  • Error message: Missing PDF maker files in Word 2007

OK, I am beyond frustrated. I have had nothing but trouble with Windows Vista and Adobe Acrobat. Please help!!!
What happens: first, the pdf addin for Word 2007 suddenly becomes disabled, for no apparent reason. Forget about trying to re-enable it through the Add-Ins menu, because Word tells me that the "connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed". This is a problem for me, because I use a special font (Vietnamese) that sometimes gets corrupted when running pdf maker. The only consistent way I have found to avoid this problem is to run the pdf maker as "Quick PDF" and as far as I can see that option is only available through the pdf addin in Word, I have never been able to find it when I open the Acrobat program and create a pdf from there.
Second problem: shortly after the pdf addin becomes disabled, my Acrobat program loses the ability to create pdfs altogether. I get the error message "Missing PDF maker files". Yes, I have tried repairing the installation and re-starting my computer per the instructions given. It doesn't fix the problem. I also tried looking in the Knowledge Database on this website, but it appears that the instructions they have to fix the problem there are for earlier versions of Word, not 2007, because my version of word does not look like the version of Word in their little videos.
This is the second time this has happened. The first time I resolved the problem by a) re-installing Acrobat, which is a pain because it involves calling Adobe and wading through their customer service to get a new installation number, and b) paying a computer repair service to dig deep into the guts of my computer and convince it to change the Office Add-ins to allow the pdf addin again. It worked for about 6 months, and now I have the same problem again. For some reason Vista is spontaneously disabling Acrobat.
I simply cannot deal with this every few months. We all know that Vista is a crappy program, but I run a business and I need a program that works with whatever crappy program Microsoft puts out. Please, can anyone give me suggestions about how to re-enable these functions when Vista disables them?
    Thanks in advance!
    Alycia

  • PDF API won't open Acrobat X or above protected files.

I'm developing a Windows 8.1 App that uses the Windows.Data.PDF API.
My PDF files were created with Adobe Acrobat XI and are password protected.
On implementing PdfDocument.LoadFromFileAsync I receive an unspecified error.
After some diagnosis, I found that if the PDF is saved in an earlier Adobe Acrobat format than version X, the program works fine.
Could it be something to do with AES 256 Encryption that the later acrobat versions use?
Is this a bug in the PDF API?
If so, where do I report it?

    Hi,
    >>On implementing PdfDocument.LoadFromFileAsync I receive an unspecified error.
    >>After some diagnosis, I found that if the PDF is saved in an earlier Adobe Acrobat format than version X, the program works fine
Yes, based on the official PDF viewer sample:
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/PDF-viewer-sample-85a4bb30
I could reproduce your issue using
PdfDocument.LoadFromFileAsync(IStorageFile, String) method to load a password-protected(256-bit AES) PDF document, and this worked well for a 128-bit AES encryption Level PDF document.
Currently, looks like this API don't support this encryption Level.
    >>If so, where do I report it?
For this issue, I'm trying to consult with some experts, thank you for your feedback:)

  • Acrobat XI PDF maker files missing

Have just installed XI. I run Win7 and 32bit Office 2010. PDF export ribbon in showing in word and you can create pdf from this.
The problem arises if you use the right click 'create pdf' function. More importantly, when using the merge multiple files to PDF function. In both cases it works ok with excel but fails on word (in the case of the merge multiple file function all other types f file go in but the word file fails)
I get he message 'PDF maker files missing'. It suggests a repair that I have tried but that doesn't help.
I have checked the COM add in isn't disabled. It's not.
Just can't get this working. Help!!!

Is it that none of the right click options are not working (Create PDF, Create PDF and Email or Combine only)?
Try converting the word file by dragging and dropping the file to Acrobat interface/icon.
Are you able to convert the word document to PDF from Acrobat Ribbon (Acrobat-> Create PDF) from within the word application?
Is the issue with a particular word file or happening with all the word files?

  • Creating PDF from File, missing Settings

    Acrobat Professional. 6.0.
I never used Acrobats "Create PDF from file", as in my MS Office 2000 there was "Acrobat - Convert to Adobe PDF" menu item with the possibility to change joboptions settings.
My current MS Office 2007 now has its own PDF convertor only, so I tried the Acrobats feature "Create PDF from file". It works, but the Settings button is grayed out with all Office file types. I didnt find a way how to access Acrobats settings, so I tried by first opening Distiller and changing the options there. Nothing happened, the output from Acrobat has always the same file size and quality. Of course I could make PDF out from Office by printing to Adobe PDF printer, but how with other file types which are not Office types.
Thanks for suggestions, i.e. for showing me what I eventually didnt consider.

As I and Bernd tried to say. AA6 does not support OFFICE 2007. The fact that you have PDF Maker from AA6 working in WORD 2007 is surprising. Since it is not a normal or supported operation, we have no idea what to tell you. It should not even be working. You are the first one I have ever heard say that they have the AA6 PDF Maker (create PDF is the way it shows up) working in OFFICE 2007!
Thus, I may misunderstand. But I am trying to tell you that none of us have experience with the configuration. Adobe will also tell you to simply upgrade. Unfortunately, that leaves you on your own to experiment. If you have questions along the way based on your observations, we would be glad to try to help, but don't expect too much.

  • Missing Adobe PDF as an option to print to.

Missing Adobe PDF as an option to print to.
I remember allowing my system do an Adobe update a couple of days ago. Don't ask me today what it updated because I don't remember.
My problem now is that I can no longer choose print to pdf. When choosing print -> pdf  I encountered an error  that stated that I still had three items in the queue that needed to be printed/deleted. Thinking this odd I opened up the control panel and noticed that I had two Adobe printers listed. First I opened Adobe and canceled the items in the queue. After canceling out the queue my Adobe printer closed and disappeared. I tried printing again with Adobe (Copy 1)  but kept on getting an error. Thinking that I probably needed a new driver I deleted Adobe (Copy 1). Now I can't find the driver I need. If I need a driver at all. I do not have any problems printing a pdf file to the printer. How do I reinstall Adobe as a printer option?

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files since SP3 installed

We have a user who is sure since XP Service Pack 3 was installed that he cannot print to PDF. Once he clicks Print he gets an error stating
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    "C:\...\Adobe PDF 6.0\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions"
Running the installer in repair mode does not work. Reinstalling the whole thing does not work. However when I log in as an admin user the issue does not occur at all. It is Acrobat Standard 6 by the way.
    Thanks

Does this occur if you are logged in as the administrator? Have you updated AA8 to the latest version? You very likely need the latest version to run on Win 7, particularly since AA8 is not certified for Win 7. If you have a 64-bit system, there is no question that you need to update.

  • "Unable to find Pdf Resource files"

I am getting an error message on start up in Windows XP after a recent update. On start up I get the mesaage "Unable to find Pdf Resource files" C:\Documents and Settings\......\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\*.Joboptions
Do you want to run the installer in repair mode.
I have seen several fixes for similar problems but nothing relating to the error occurring at start up.
I would be grateful if you could suggest a solution. I have reinstalled Adobe Pro V8 and the error is still there

In the default settings, it shows "Standard". Try going to the menu above labelled settings and you will likely see an edit options selection. See if you can edit the selection. You can also try selecting other settings with the arrow at the right side of the settings selection (It is a select box) to see if other files are available. You should also be able to see the settings file in the printer properties and be able to edit it also. Trying these games may home in on the problem, particularly if it indicates you do not have access.
Just as a check, open an application that you might like to print to PDF. Then go to the print menu and select print-to-file with the Adobe PDF printer. Once you have that file printed, open it in Distiller and see if you get the proper processing. This manual process is the most basic of the PDF creation processes in Acrobat. All of the other processes build on it. Thus we are checking basic functionality to be sure I did not miss something as we went along.
If the print-to-file works out to give you a PDF, then try printing to the printer without that option selected and hopefully the PDF is created directly (no manual step with Distiller). Each of the next steps would go up the chain in the checkout.

  • Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files PROBLEM

I've installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard on Windows 7 operating computer.
And while I was trying to create PDF from a file, it always shows
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.
Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?
    Yes or No
I've pressed yes yet it doesn't really help me and still shows the same message.
I've pressed no, and it doesn't do anything.
    ANY IDEA?
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Does this occur if you are logged in as the administrator? Have you updated AA8 to the latest version? You very likely need the latest version to run on Win 7, particularly since AA8 is not certified for Win 7. If you have a 64-bit system, there is no question that you need to update.

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files on Acrobat X Pro

I have a Windows 7 32-bit machine that receives the following error when attempting to create a PDF from Microsoft Office Word 2010: "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. "Acrobat PDFMaker" You must have Administrator priveleges to install these files. Please contact your local systems administrator" The user is a local administrator. Note: This does NOT happen on Excel 2010, only Word.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat Pro, running the installer in safe mode from the default local administrator account, printing directly to the PDF printer and following several other suggestions from similar threads.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
