Missing collaboration content upon migrating from NW2004 sp16 to sp17

Hi,
I upgraded the Netweaver 2004 installation from SP16 to SP17.
We had created some collaboration rooms.
People had uploaded documents to these collaboration rooms.
The problem is after the upgrade, all the documents that had been uploaded to the rooms have disappeared. Has anybody faced a similar problem.
Thank You for your help.
Sumit.

I've verified that the UME Notification E-Mail configurations are working, but still have yet to get the Task emails working.
One peculiar thing, in the UME Configurations>Notification E-Mails, when I put in an email address for "workflow" and save, it says it saved the setting successfully, but when I go back to it, the email for this parameter is gone.
Anybody have any idea why? Maybe something needs to be activated to use this?
Is there an activation setting for workflow that I don't know about?
Thanks!

    Hi,
You need to transfer uncar files to EPSin directory then go to SPAM -> Support packages->Load Packages-> from front end.
Then click all support packages and display. After that you can find support package of each component as yellow marked. Select any one of them and check the dependencies.
If the dependencies are OK then select Queue button. Then click Import queue as Track sysmbol.
After importing the status will be yellow so you need to go to Support Package button again and click Confirm. Tha Status will become Green.
Like that way you need to do for each component.

I have a form with multiple tabs. It works fine with Forms 6.
Now when we want to migrate to 6i, I am facing problem when I

    Hello Deepak Kori,
thanks a lot for your reply!
I read this SAP note and the note with additional information (129352).
As i understand we can do a homogeneous system copy as follows:
    - setting up the new server (2008x64) with a MAXDB instance (7.6.03.09)
    - Creating a backup (migration) from the source system (7.6.00.18)
    - recovery with initialization of this backup on the new server
    - upgrade of the DB instance to SAP MAXDB 7.8.02.29
If this is correct, i think we have a good strategy!
    Thanks

  • Renaming TFS Server name upon migration from TFS 2010 to TFS 2012

We are migrating from TFS 2010 on existing server to TFS 2012 on new server. All components (TFS 2012, SQL 2012, SPS 2010) are directly on the new server similar to existing server (TFS 2010, SQL 2008 R2, WSS 3.0).
The new server has a new name, however the service provider that does the actual migration,
    wants to rename
the new server to be same name as the name of the original existing server when it is shutdown. The rename is intended to be done using
    netdom utility.
I noticed there are articles by microsoft and others that describe various issues that may arrise as
result of TFS server rename. However service provider still plans to rename based on his field experience and best practices.
What do u recommend to do in this aspect ? Why would it be necessary to rename and not use the new name (DNS can map old name as well to the new IP) ? What are the actual risks in such rename and is it worth it ?
    Thank u

    Hi Cathy,
    Thank u for your reply.
We know that renaming the new server to the same name as the original one, is
not a must for the migration to work. The issue in question is as follows :
    1. A Microsoft partner that has hands on experience in TFS migration, and planned to migrate for us, recommends to rename the new server name, to the original server name, utilizing net_dom command, and to do it during / after  same procedure u
    provided link to.
    2. We found Microsoft documentation that cautions about renaming the server, e.g. renaming SQL server which is in our case on same machine where TFS 2012 is to be installed. However, the partner urges us to rename, explaining that net_dom should perform
the rename safely without caution risk.
Kindly let u sknow if Micorsoft considers such rename with net_dom to be a good
practice in low risk for such migration,
or better keep the new server name as it is and just map the old server name in DNS to the IP of the new server.
    Thank u.

  • Issues with filenames upon migrating from AFP to SMB

    Hi,
Over the past year I collected and create a hugh amount of documents and files, some of which are containing the characters '|' (pipe), '<', or '>' in the corresponding file/directory name.
Now I've embarked on a journey migrating those files to a NAS offering SMB shares, and all of a sudden these aforementioned files and directories are showing up on the SMB shares with completely garbled & randomised names. Only thing which appears to be consistent is the format thereof:
(6 uppercase letters) ~ (one uppercase letter or digit)
    eg. "BJUKFP~5"
Is there any chance of having the correct file/directory names on the SMB share without the necessity of changing these?
    -- MMHein

    Another thing I've just discovered:
Say the filename e.g. is "my | file.txt" on the AFP volume, then when connecting this volume via SMB2 it's becoming "BJUKFP~5". So I change the name on the SMB connection back to "my | file.txt", and all of a sudden it shows up on the AFP volume as "my [x] file.txt" ("[x]" begin one single character).
If I'd have the AFP and the SMB volumes connected, and I create "my | file.txt" afresh, it's showing up correctly on both the AFP as well as the SMB.

  • Migrating from JServ to OC4J: problems with XSQLServlet configuration

I'm trying to move an application using xsql pages from 9iAS to 10g (9.04). Development is currently done under JDev9 (9.02) an its OC4J standalone server.
I guess I've done most of the configurations, since the application is working correctly now, BUT only with the connections defined statically in the XSQLConfig.xml of the XSQLServlet. On JServ, we implemented our own connection manager to pass our connections to the XSQLServlet as defined by the <connection-manager><factory> tag. Now, under OC4J, this no longer works:
    The log files tells:
Failed to create custom connection manager factory: "our.connection.manager.factory": Using default.
And with the default one, we get of course the 'cannot acquire database connection' error message which is ok, since we're not using one of those defined under XSQLConfig.xml...
Background: Our connection manager is contained in a jar file with many other classes. These are visible to the 2 applications ("P" and "T") we're running successfully under OC4J Standalone. As I interprete the message as the XSQLServlet not being able to create an instance of our ConnectionManager, I guess I missed somewhere an library or classpath entry??
    Many thanx for any hints!

  • KM content migration from EP5. to NW2004s

    Hi all,
Can you tell me if it’s possible to migrate KM content from EP5.0 to NW2004s?
I know that the only scenario supported by SAP is the migration from 5.0 to 6.0 and then upgrade to NW2004s.
But are there any tools that could be use to perform this migration directly from EP5.0 to NW2004s?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Paulo Ruivo

    Hi Paulo,
As suggested  by SAP recommended way is to migrate from EP5.0 to EP6.0 then upgrade to EP7.0.
No ,there are no standard migrating tool for migrating content as the way u want.I am afraid you may have to do it manually.

  • Content migration from old to new database server

There is thread upon thread upon question (as well as answer upon answer) of this already. I have 3 farms running concurrently. 1 production, 1 development and a new production (farm A, B and C respectively). Farm A's databases are on SQLa\SP while Farm
B is on SQLb\Beta and Farm C on SQLb\SP. I've successfully copied the content database over from Farm A to Farm B & C without an issue. Farm A and C are identical except for server names (service accounts etc).
What I'm trying to do now though is just a simple content refresh from FarmA to FarmC. Aside from shutting down FarmA and C, backing up & restoring the database again, is there another way to do this?

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is you want to find another way to change   farm A production environment to farm C production environment aside from shutting down FarmA and C, backing up & restoring the database .
    It  involves moving a farm.
Moving a farm typically involves the following steps:
Set up the new server farm
Move the databases to the new server farm
Shut down the old server farm
So how to move the databases to the new server farm is the point. For moving all the databases, you can backup and restore. Another way is detaching and attaching as the thread states:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/25215/the-best-practice-for-moving-content-database-between-two-farms
But copying the files is also a dangerous option due to file locks etc, and you don't want to take down the farm just to copy the data.
For more information, you can have a look at the blog:

  • How to content migrate from e-room to sharepoint using powershell

    Hi,
How to  do content migration from e-room to share-point using powershell.
Please give step by step process and give some idea about migration using powershell and other tools.

    Hi,
There is no direct content database migration approach from eRoom to SharePoint.
However many third party tools such as Metalogix, Tzunami, and AvePoint are available to migrate eRoom content to SharePoint as well as you can write your own utility
to migrate content since there are various eRoom API available for the same.

  • After migration from HDD to SSD, thumbnails in iPhoto are missing

    Dear Apple-community,
I migrated my system a week ago. I added a SSD to the HDD which is now in an optibay. After adding the SSD I installed Lion from new on the SSD, migrated all programms etc. from the HDD and left only the user-folders on the HDD.
After repairing the rights and linking the user-folders to the system again, I was able to use everything, beside iPhoto.
in iPhoto the thumbnails don't show up. The categories are there, the pictures also, just I don't see them, just black or grey fields. I tried all the options offered by the menu, that appears when you start with cmd-shift. Now I need new solutions, that could help me get back my thumbnails!
Thanks a lot for your help!

I think I would have find the files on the internal HDD after the migration (eventhough they should be visible in Finder after the migration, don't they?) if there were there, even hidden.
I thought they dissappeared, because I made one mistake in following the instructions for the migration of the system to the added internal SSD (keeping user files on the internal HDD): I had to migrate everything but the content of the user folders from time machine to the SSD, but I migrated from my user folder on the internal HDD to the SSD. I had to migrate only the users, not the content of the user-folder. In the end, all this content was deleted from the HDD I migrated the users from.
Anyway, now all this old files on the internal HDD are deleted, because I restored my user-folder from time machine (external HDD) (because there was no folder visible anymore), so I could start the system again with my used options stored in the user-folder. Afterwards time machine started and deleted the old copys on the external harddrive.
    Weird.

  • Missing photos after migration from iPhoto to Photos

Last week I upgraded my desktop MacPro from OS 10.9.latest to OS 10.10.3. When I first opened Photos, it did the migration from iPhotos without apparent problem. But I have noticed that many (hundreds at least) of the photos from my pre-migration iPhoto library are now not in Photos. I mounted my pre-upgrade backup drive on a laptop running OS 10.9.latest, and can find specific missing photos OK on the backup. But if I search the main drive on my desktop Mac, for example for "P1440608", I get no results. I have tried rebuilding the Photos library with no change - the missing photos are still missing.
One option is to erase my MacPro main drive and restore from the backup drive to OS 10.9.latest. This should put me back to where I was. Is there a viable alternative? Please note that my iPhoto version was 8.1.2. It will not open in OS 10.10.3, and the App Store will not let me upgrade to the most recent version. I do have Time Machine plus external bootable (SuperDuper) backup of the desktop MacPro, plus that laptop running OS 10.9.latest as resources available.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Migrated from iMac to new iMac, CS5.5 missing components

    Hi,
I'm being asked to reinstall Photoshop CS5.5 because "some of the application components missing from the Application directory" after I Migrated from an older iMac to a new one. Also InDesign is quitting unexpectedly, with no other message than "send to Apple."
I can't seem to figure out how to download the program again from Adobe to fix this. I  bought CS5.5 in February 2012 and selected the "download only" feature, which I hope I am not going to regret. It should have been easy to find a way to download it again and deactivate the old computer (I have another older iMac I'm keeping activated).
Where can I download the CS5.5 that I bought less than 9 months ago? I don't want to upgrade to 6.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Migrating from CM SDK to Content Services

    Hi,
I believe that content services is "built on" CM SDK.
Would it therefore be possible to migrate from an instance of CM SDK to Content Services? Are there any tools available to do this?
I think it would be possible to write an integration toolkit (of sorts) with the web services API but I'd rather see if there was anything available already!
    Thanks,
    Phill

We have no out-of-box tool at this stage to achieve this. As you can appreciate, CM SDK is that flexibile pretty much any application imaginable could be created leveraging all types of internal CM SDK structures (custom class objects, propertybundles, background agents, server-side overrides etc)
Content DB / Content Services abstract all of the low-level CM SDK structures away and introduces new FDK application structures such as Category, Workspace, Container etc.
We do not expose the internal API in Content DB, and instead only expose Web Services based off our FDK structures.
Developing a migration tool is purely on a case-by-case basis.
If the customer has made heavy use of document sub-typing, then they need to switch over to utilizing category objects.
If they have background agents, they need to look either at the Auditing /Event framework.
The complexity of the CM SDK migration will depend on how much of the low-level features the customer has leveraged. If it was purely just a metadata and content repository, migration will be quite simple.
If the application logic has been implemented using cmsdk structures (propertybundles etc), then migration will take some planning!
    cheers
    Matt.
