Missing color profiles

When I view images in Bridge it shows that I have either sRGB or Adobe 1998 color profiles embedded with images. When I try to open them in CS2 I get the dialog box stating they have no embedded profile??? I'm talking about jpeg files in Bridge. I have two color spaces I work in, sRGB for jpegs and Adobe 1998 for converted raw files either in tiff or psd. These load just fine as the have been saved as Adobe 1998. My profile setting have remained the same as far as I can tell, the mismatch and missing warning boxes are checked. Any ideas what might have taken place?
Thanks for any help.

If Bridge shows the profile, it's there. Your Photoshop CS2 preferences or installation could be corrupted. Try trashing prefs first.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop or ImageReady, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?" or "Delete the Adobe ImageReady Settings file?"

  • Missing color profiles in Snow Leopard

    Hi,
I did a clean install of Snow Leopard and then migrated from a clone the accounts, network setting and documents. I then reinstalled all of the applications. Everything works just fine but a good number of Color profiles for my printer (Epson Pro 3800) are missing from the Aperture pull down menus. Does anyone know where these live so i can move them over to the new install?
    thanks

I would just reinstall your Epson software from which those profiles most likely came. If you have a full backup of the previous system then you can look for them in the /Library/Colorsync/ or /Home/Library/Colorsync/ folders. If you migrated a Home folder and the profiles were installed in the /Library/Colorsync/ folder then they were not transferred to the new installation.

  • Missing color profile

    Hello,
I am running CS at my job. 4 days ago, Photoshop started asking for color profiles on every single image I open. Most of these images are ones that I have used repeatedly in the past with no errors or missing profile messages.
    My question....?
How do I fix this. I want the images to just open without the stupid window popping up every time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Photoshop Elements 11/ Missing Color Profile CMYK - Does anybody know why + what to do?

I am missing the color profile CMYK in the elements software I use.
I need to convert some data form RGB to CMYK.
Is there a setting I may change?
    Thanks for helping
    Regards,
    ChrizB

If you only need to do this once, the easiest thing is to ask your printer to do it for you. They'll probably charge you something, but at least it will be done right. Properly converting to CMYK is considerably more complex than, say, converting from sRGB to Adobe RGB. There are a number of third party options for doing this--I think irfanview will do it in windows, and preview does it for macs, but those are pretty basic conversions that don't allow you to adjust for out of gamut colors.

  • Emailed photos missing color profiles

I noticed that all the photos I've sent people from the iPhone look really flat and lifeless.
When I transfer the photos to iPhoto they have the profile sRGB. But if I email them from the Photos app on the phone (at any size) they are missing their ICC color profile.
It means that any work you did editing your photos on the phone will look wrong when uploaded - modern browsers or mail clients that respect color profiles won't have the info to display them properly.
I don't get it, why would Apple include ICC profiles when saving photos but want to strip out the color info when sharing them? Profiles are tiny and don't impact the size, so why remove them?
I'm annoyed that I'll need to use the computer to share my photos properly- doesn't that defeat the purpose of being able to share them right form the phone?

I would just reinstall your Epson software from which those profiles most likely came. If you have a full backup of the previous system then you can look for them in the /Library/Colorsync/ or /Home/Library/Colorsync/ folders. If you migrated a Home folder and the profiles were installed in the /Library/Colorsync/ folder then they were not transferred to the new installation.

  • Factory Color Profile Missing - wha?

Just turned on my iMac (G4 Flat Panel) and the color looked wrong. I've read all of the posts about the color washes that people are having but this isn't like that - it's like the monitor has been calibrated incorrectly.
I tried to put the calibration back to the iMac default but it's no longer there - so then I decided to do a full calibration and got the message that "The Factory Color profile is missing".
I'm guessing this is going to be a re-install of Tiger - but can anyone shed some light on the problem and let me know
    a. How did it happen?
    b. Will it happen again?
    c. Can I just get the color profile from the Tiger DVD using something like pacifier (I think that's the right thing)
    and
    d. Is this cause enough to pursuade my girlfriend that we need to upgrade to a G5 iMac?
    Seriously any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ryan

Seems the profile was /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays/Color LCD-933C106C-08BC-09AA-F750-C2A74A119DEF.icc

  • Acrobat Color Management - Color Profiles Missing from Drop down list

I have created a custom .icc profile for my large format plotter. The .icc file is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color, but it is not visible in my Color Profile drop down list, in the Color Management section of the Advanced Print Setup box, which is available via the Advanced option in the print dialog box. I have set up 10 users, some have Acrobat 8, some have acrobat 9. Of those 10 the profile is not showing up on one of the Acrobat 8's and one of the Acrobat 9's. To complicate matters, last night I sucessfully created a preset for an Acrobat 9 user and linked the profile, but after he logged off and back on today he can no longer see the profile either. Have you ever seen this activity? -Thanks

  • Aptus II 8 Adobe Standard color profile missing from LR3.5?

I was wondering, several versions ago, (2.7 I believe) the Leaf Aptus II 8 aka Leaf Aptus 40 was added to the list of supported cameras. My version of Lightroom 3.5 (MacOs 10.6.8) can read these files, however there is no Adobe Standard color profile for this back. When I go to the calibration tab it just shows embedded. These files are uncompressed .mos files and not jpegs or tifs. With my Leaf Aptus 75 I use the Adobe Standard profile and like it. Is this a bug or just an unsupported feature of the Aptus 40?

Thanks, that sounded like a good idea and it got me thinking. Why not trash the profile and import it from another computer. Doing that I found that the file sepraratly downloaded on another computer has the same problem so I can't move it over. The other computer is OS 10.5 Leopard whereas mine is 10.6 Snow Leopard. This leads me to believe that this is an Adobe issue.
Would any other Mac LR3 users please go to Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>Lens Profiles>1.0>Canon and see if there is an "exec icon" next to the file named......  Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM) - RAW.lcp
I'd appreciate it and it will help isolate the problem.
    Thanks

  • Reloading footage doesn't refresh the footage's color profile

    Hello.
I have a PSD with lots of layers loaded into AE. The PSD originally had Adobe RGB embedded. After doing animations I converted the PSD to sRGB and added a couple of new layers.
When I load the new layers into AE they have the right profile (sRGB) in them. All the previously loaded layers will stay on Adobe RGB in the "interpret footage" window which causes them to look different (reloading the Footage has no effect on the color profile...)
Am I missing something here? Or is it behaving like this on purpose?
    kind regards
    tww

  • Choosing Color Profiles for Images Created on Film

I just finished sending feedback to Adobe on one of its tutorials. The following is a copy of my message explaining my present predicament.
<< I have scanned film negatives and positive film transparencies dating back to the 1950's .I was the creator of most of these images but I do not remember the make or model of the cameras I was using at any point in time prior to 1974 and they all lack metadata. Prior to 2000 I used iPhoto and PS Elements for scanning, toning and development. Thus I can only guess what color profile I should use. I want to create TIFFS that will serve a dual purpose: exporting two formats, one for electronic sharing and the other for printing. On the Adobe CC, if I guess wrong, LR 5.6 64bit crashes immediately. Prior stand alone versions of LR and CS6 let you know that you had a color inconsistency, but they did not crash when you had made a wrong choice between srgb and ProPhoto. ACC gives me more options, but no warnings unless I am missing something your Help Files should contain.>>

I guess I am going to throw caution to the wind and see what happens.
Only one way to find out, Right
Though I did go back and lighten my images. Also
Ran color synch utility, which fixed 11 corrupt color profiles.(none of the 11 profiles pertained to i photo)
I guess I am afraid to use pref setter,, to set the key embed color profile.
Confused as to what that means??? Does that mean that all my CS Adobe-RGB jpegs will keep their color profile???
Also implanted one image as an SRGB vs the rest which will all be AdobeRGB
Oddly my color management in CS is almost Flawless. Yet, get me out of CS and I am completely lost!!!! Complicated stuff
Toad, I did want to pass on that AdobeRGB 1998 is a much more robust color profile then SRGB especially when it come to printing on Epson. It might be worth experimenting with and if you really want to get into it there is also
Pro photo RGB which is Huge color space, but a beast to work with

  • Canon pixma pro 9500 having problems with my print out. colors are glazed and missing colors

canon pixma pro 9500 having problems with my print out. colors are glazed and missing colors
i have prfiled the mac and printer wiht colormunki and uplodated the profile sucessfully
i set the printer to correct icc profile
print out comes out same with glazed colors and missing tones/colors
however when i use the same printer on windows and with light room, following same icc profile, colormunki calibrated profile, the print our are excellent.
i have also tried using printer manage profile using the Mac and Aperture and get same poor prints
can  you please assist and thanks

I've a Pro9000 and also use Colormunki successfully.
When I use Colormunki, I calibrate both of my monitors and the printer/paper combination. Colormunki saves the generated profiles to the correct places -- I don't load or change any profiles after that as that would mess-up what the Colormunki had just done for me, and this would likely mess-up the prints.
Though I double-check the settings in the print dialogue, the choice for the printer handling things is already grayed-out. Colorsync handles it all just fine.

  • ColorSync and color profile stuck in sepia tone!

This is a detailed post explaining my problem and everything I've tried. Please help me!
My 1-year-old likes to jam on the keyboard of my iMac G4 (he's a regular mac lover, he is), and as such sometimes messes things up. I never thought he could do any damage to the OS that I couldn't fix, and I have the restore set. Now he's messed it up and I DON'T have the restore set.
    Model: iMac G4 800mhz w/ upgraded memory and OS X 10.4.7.
Basically my screen is displaying in nothing but sepia tones. The desktop environment, applications, video, 3D apps...everything. Here is the list of things I attempted that have not worked thus far:
    1. Tried changing the filters settings in ColorSync Utility. No filters were set.
    2. Tried changing color profiles in Displays, only made slight changes to the same sepia tones (contrast and whatnot)
    3. Used First Aid to Verify and Repair my profiles. No problems detected. Still sepia.
    4. Tried to create a Calibrated Generic RGB profile without using Expert Mode, to no avail.
I have no idea how to tweak individual RGB settings, especially with no plain RGB shades to work with. Please explain this to me as if I were a 3rd grader...I know that if my baby was able to change this in a few seconds, it's got to be something really simple or else he's an evil mastermind. I'm just missing it somewhere. Help me!

Check System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing to see if any options are turned on that shouldn't be. Some of them can be easily turned on with keyboard shortcuts.

  • Problem using custom color profiles in Camera Raw

    Dear Adobe Community,
I've created a custom color profile using the DNG profile editor, and I've been able to open that custom .dcp file in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) through Adobe Bridge.  However, when I apply the color profile to the same image, I do not get the same results as I get with the profile editor.  When I open the "corrected" RAW file in Adobe Photoshop, the colors are the same wrong colors that I have in Bridge, am I missing something here?

    Yes, you're missing something.
Camera profiles are meant to account for different spectral distribution in different light sources, which is something else than different color temperatures. You still have to make all the normal adjustments, like white balancing, to get the image right.

  • Softproof and color profiles

Not all my correct installed color profiles are available in the softproof-menu 'Profile' in the development module. Why not? And how can I change that?
    Thanks.

Indeed only the CMYK and lab-profiles are missing.
    Thanks for your answer.

  • Snow Leopard default color profile

I seem to have lost the original color profile file while trying to calibrate my screen... How can I get it back? Can I download it somewhere?

In System Preferences > Displays > Color Tab the profile would probably be "MacBook Pro".
In /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays do you see it?
If not take the other color profiles, in case you need them, and copy them somewhere else then delete them.
Then run The 10.6.2 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
    That should create the default.
Or... you may just be able to delete the entire folder and restart. But I wouldn't this without a good backup.
