Missing Colours on shared calendar

Hi,
I recently found that a shared department calendar was actually a sub folder shared from a users calendar.
I have created a new replacement standalone calendar and copied in the existing calendar entries.
In Outlook they look both the same, I can see all events, categories and colours.  In OWA however I can only see the colours in the old shared calendar, not in the new standalone. If i click an event i can see that a category has been assigned but I
cannot edit the category or define a colour range.  I have full access on the newly created calendar mailbox. Please advise if you have seen this before and can help.
Thanks
edit- exchange 2010 btw, thanks.

Hi,
From your description, I would like to verify if you can click the "Clear Categories". What's more, please use other browser to check the result. Moreover, I recommend you create a new mailbox and grant it full access permission to this Calendar
and check the result.

  • Missing information on shared calendar

    Hello,
I state that I have done extensive research but could not find anything relating to my problem.
My setup is: Mac Mini with Lion Server 10.7.5 connected to the Active Directory on a Windows Server 2008 R2.
I set up a shared calendar in iCal and I have enabled some users to read-only and others in read-write mode.
No problem in creating new appointments or edit existing ones, the data is updated regularly, in short the service works well.
The problem is that I can't know WHICH USER has entered or changed an appointment because his name is not shown anywhere.
As I know by synchronizing the calendar with iCloud the problem would be solved as the user's name is automatically entered, but I do not want use this method.
Have I missed some step, or this feature is not available?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Family sharing calendar missing

We are using family sharing. My daughters iPhone 5 is missing the family sharing calendar. She is on her own Apple id and is updated to the latest OS. when I look at the calendar app, the family calendar is not an option. She is set up on a child account but restrictions are not enabled in her phone. any help is appreciated.

    Hello Jacqui L Davies,
It sounds like you may need to change the settings for access to the Family Calendar.  See if this section of the iPad User Guide applies to your situation:
Share iCloud calendars - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/8/#/iPadc2a14a22
    Share iCloud calendars
With Family Sharing, a calendar shared with all the members of your family is created automatically. See Family Sharing. You can also share an iCloud calendar with other iCloud users. When you share a calendar, others can see it, and you can let them add or change events. You can also share a read-only version that anyone can view.
Create an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap Add Calendar in the iCloud section.
Share an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Tap Add Person, then enter a name, or tap to browse your Contacts. Those you invite receive an email invitation to join the calendar, but they need an iCloud account in order to accept.
Change a person’s access to a shared calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, tap the shared calendar, then tap the person. You can turn off their ability to edit the calendar, resend the invitation to join the calendar, or stop sharing the calendar with them.
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Share a read-only calendar with anyone. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link to copy or send the URL for your calendar. Anyone can use the URL to subscribe to the calendar using a compatible app.
    Hope that helps ...

  • Outlook Connector and shared calendar

    Hi.
Looking for some help troubleshooting an issue with shared calendar functionality from Outlook using the Connector.
All server bits are JES-R2. Connector version is 6.0.129.
Connector is working for the most part, but when I try to subscribe to another users calendar from Outlook it is failing. Even when I do a search, and pick the user from the list, the lookup fails to return the user and I get "User not found. Either enter the email id of the user OR click on Search and then click Find to locate the user."
The ldap search I'm seeing in the access logs is curious in the sense that it seems to binding with dn="".

    [23/Jun/2004:15:18:55 -0400] conn=346 op=-1 msgId=-1 - closed.
This is returning 0 entries, and I believe this is why it is failing. I believe the connector is probably using this search to retrieve the users calendar_id.
If I type the uid into the dialog box (to subscribe) I get this in the ldap:

  • "Missing information in order to join" error for Shared Calendars

I have shared Calendars before with various people and they all work flawlessly. Unforunately, one person who I am trying to share a calendar with got a "Missing information in order to join" error message when she tries to join. I have no idea why this is happening. She has a hotmail email address. Any idea/suggestions as to why this could be happening?
    I am using a 4S, she is using a 4.

Yup, I got the same thing.  Further info:  I set up the shared list on my mac, then sent the list to my wife who tried to open it on her iPhone 5 and got redirected to the iCloud sign in page and then got the above error.  We then tried it via her hotmail account and signing into iCloud on a web browser on her computer.  Same error.
Edit:  Further further info:  the ability to share a Reminder list is new in 10.8.2.  It can't be done via the iCloud web interface or the iPhone interface.
Anybody know how to solve this?

  • ICal holidays missing - Find Shared Calendars menu item broken

In iCal, Calendar menu, Find Shared Calendars...
This menu item takes you to a broken (as of today) link:
    http://www.apple.com/ical/library/

When clicking "Find Shared Calendars...," Leopard OS system sends IP packets to nwk-www.apple.com, 17.149.160.10.
    ・Source IP Address (private): 192.168.1.2
・Destination IP Address: 17.149.160.10 at the beginning of the session for "Find Shared Calendars..." procedure.
Leopard 10.5.1 sends a DNS query to connect 128.241.220.87 that is NTT America. Communications between Leopard and NTT America go for a while. So is Omniture's server followed. Some unique user's information is transmitted on all the servers communication.
Leopard queries DNS server (208.67.2222.222 which I set for Leopard) for metrics.apple.com (this seems to be a server for iTunes Store). What the deuce Leopard needs to call iTunes Store at the phase of finding iCal sharing calendar?
Besides, I have not been purchased any products from iTunes Store for years.
Actually, NTT America has been attempting odd access behaviors to my nodes for the recent few years before the business with Apple started whenever the hacker (I have been tracking him for three years.) is right behind me.
Now NTT America 128.241.220.87 replies to Leopard with the ACK (TCP Acknowledgement flag) bit. Next, nwk-www.apple.com (17.149.160.10) also sends Leopard a ACK bit simultaneously. Leopard answers it with the ACK. Now the DNS server replies the ten host addresses to the query of metrics.apple.com: appleglobal.112.2o7.net, 66.151.152.125, 66.151.152.126, 66.151.152.143, 128.241.21.13, 128.241.21.14, 128.241.21.15, 128.241.21.146, 128.241.21.149 and 128.241.21.163.
66.151.152.xxx = Omniture, Inc that provides web analytics solutions for internet channel monitoring. They operates the 2o7.net domains. For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omniture
    128.241.21.xxx = NTT America, Inc. (http://www.nttamerica.com/products/index.php)
At the last session, Leopard queries "wsidecar.apple.com," but strangely the DNS server answer the canonical address which is "wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net" with its address 17.149.160.15 but not DNS registered address 17.112.152.39.
17.149.160.15 (Apple's server but not 17.149.160.10) sends Leopard a FIN/ACK bit which means the TCP connection is closed by the server ONE-SIDEDLY despite Leopard answers to 17.149.160.15 with the acknowledgement to get ready for the US calendar sync data download start.
    Here is a nslookup wsidecar.apple.com:
    $ nslookup
    wsidecar.apple.com
    Server: 208.67.222.222
    Address: 208.67.222.222#53
    Non-authoritative answer:
    wsidecar.apple.com canonical name = wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net.
    Name: wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net
    Address: 17.112.152.39
CONCLUSION: There are a few inconsistencies on TCP/IP communications.
My computer: Power Mac G5 Dual 2.7 GHz/5GB DDR SDRAM
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.1 and Mac OS X 10.4.11 for dual boot.

  • Shared calendar - partner's entries not showing in Outlook

    Hi there,
I have set up a calendar for my wife and I to share.
During the day I view this on my PC at work (Outlook 2007, Exchange 2010 SP2). For some reason any entires my wife enters in the shagred calendar do not display in Outlook, but they do on my iPhone. They are also visible in iCal on my iMac, and on the web version at icloud.com
Can anybody shed any light on why this might be?
I have the iCloud control panel installed on my PC and I have tried hitting the 'Refresh iCloud' button in Outlook.
I keep getting into trouble with my wife...
    Thanks

I'm not sure if that is the issue.
If I create an entry in my shared iCloud diary in Outlook it appears in that calendar (colour coded correctly) on my iPhone. So Outlook 2007 is connecting with iCloud and pushing entries to iCloud, but it doesn't apppear to be working the other way around.
Incidently I just created a new appointment on my iPhone in the shared calendar and that hasn't appeared in Outlook, so it doesn;t appear to be related to my wife's instance of the shared calendar.
    Any clues?
    Thanks

  • Help viewing shared calendars on my iPhone?

I've seen this same issue in a couple forums but haven't seen a solution yet. Maybe I'm just missing something. I am running outlook 2007, exchange 2003. All of my appointments in my calendar sync nicely between outlook and iphone but we have a shared calendar that doesn't show up in my phone. I keep missing meetings and appointments that are set up for me because I can't view the calendar. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

If I read correctly, the iPhone won't sync multiple Exchange calendars, since you can only have 1 Exchange account at a time configured on the iPhone. However, it looks like with OS 3+, you can access a shared calendar using CalDAV or .ics. I have not tried it, so I don't know if it will work with Exchange. On the phone: Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendar->Add Account->Other->Calendar: Add Subscribed Calendar or Add CalDAV Account.. Let us know if it works!

  • Shared Mailbox with Multiple Shared Calendars

We have a shared mailbox (Exchange 2010) for a department and they have created 30+ calendars that they would like other users to have access to. I've tried giving access to the calendars folder with powershell giving the users reviewer access which
    is what was requested.
    I started with this
Add-MailboxPermission -Identity "Dept42" -User "user" -AccessRights ReadPermission -InheritanceType all
    then
Add-MailboxFolderPermission -identity "Dept42:\Calendar" -user "nrogers" -AccessRights Reviewer
I'm assuming this command gives access to all calendars folder since i've tried to specify the calendar and get errors that the specific calendar could not be found. Am I missing something as they still cannot see the shared calendar even though I can add
the mailbox to their outlook profile.
    Thanks
    Jay

    Hi,
To share the sub calendar to other users, we need to give them the desired permission (at least Reviewer) to the folder and at least Folder visible permission to every Root folder above the shared subfolder.
Besides, we also need to give them Folder visible permission to the shared mailbox.
    1. Right click on the mailbox root.
    2. The Default account typically has no permission to the entire mailbox. You can either give the Default account Folder visible permission or click Add and select the users who you want to grant the permissions.
    3. Check the Folder visible box only and the permission level remains set to None.
Once the Calendar folder permission are set, who the folders are shared with needs to add this shared mailbox to their profile.
Could you please check the result from Outlook side?
If there is any update, please feel free to let me know.

  • Outlook 2010 shared calendars

I work at Pensacola State College. We recently upgraded our Exchange servers to 2013. Our staff is using Outlook 2010.  We have about a half dozen  calendars that are shared among our admin staff of about 10 people (resources, not individual
users shared calendars). My problem is I have 2 users who continually lose their edit permissions on only 3 of those shared calendars. The other shared calendars have no issues, everyone that has permission can add/delete, etc. But
on the other 3 calendars in question at least 3-4 times a week 2 users (only) lose tha ability to make changes to these calendars. I can delete the calendars and reconnect to them and for the next day or 2 they work fine and then deja vu. I have checked these
2 users' settings with others in the department and they are identical. One night I asked one of the users that was having the issue to not shutdown or log off her PC, leave keep Outlook open and simply lock the PC. When she came in next morning and unlocked
her PC with Outlook still open she could not edit any of the 3 calendars in question (delete, re-add, problem gone).  One moring when one of the users called I took a laptop with a clean image and Office 2013 on it. Had her login and she still had the
same problem; could not edit any of the 3 calendars. Deleted them, readded, worked fine. This user works for the president; suggestions please??

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that there are 2 users always losing Editor permission for 3 shared calendars. Is there any error message or error logs when the issue occurs? Please collect it for further analysis.
Please confirm whether the problematic users still have Editor permission to these 3 shared calendars when the issue occurs. We can try to remove the Editor permission for 2 problematic users then re-add it to check whether the issue persists. If there is
any activesync device, please also disable it.
Generally, to prevent incorrect or missing meeting information, it is recommended to limit the number of delegates with Editor permissions. For more information about best practices when using the Outlook Calendar, please refer to:

  • Why can't I choose whether or not I want alerts from shared calendars?

My wife and I want to view each other's iCloud calendars, but she certainly doesn't need to recieve alerts for my meetings, nor do I need alerts for hers.  Am I missing something or is there no way around this?   What a huge flaw for a shared calendar!

This is unfortunately how the shared calendar systems works at the moment. The reminders appear event specific instead of user specific. Hopefully Apple will get around to fixing this as soon as possible.
This problem also appears with shared reminder lists in the new iOS5 5 reminder app.
Solution, unfortunately, is to share your calendars via a third party. For example, google.

  • Shared Calendar

I am trying to configure Shared Calendar usage, basically according to the section 'Shared Calendar LDAP Lookup Configuration' on the page
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2568/6n4rm7fit?a=view .
I have service.wcap.userprefs.ldapproxyauth ="yes" set in /etc/opt/SUNWics5/config/ics.conf, and I find an ACI in LDAP which is almost identical to the second one shown on the doc page. Is there anything else I have missed?
The problem is that calendars subscribed to via Outlook are not given access permission. Calendars which are shared via the UWC work correctly.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I'm not that familar with the outlook connector (anybody?), but a point of clarification:
Calendars subscribed are not given permission... does this mean that you subscribe to a calendar within Outlook, but when you view the calendar in Outlook you can't see anything?
If you view the same subscribed calendar within UWC you can see events?
Do they calendar logs provide any insight into the problem?
You may want to try logging a support call and trying the latest outlook connector patch (122018-05). This also requires that you apply the Calendar Server patch (116577-33 or above) and Comms Express patch (118540-31 or above)
    Cheers,

  • How to open shared calendar in Outlook for Mac 15 (Office 365)?

A colleague in my organisation has created a calendar in a different version of Outlook and shared it with me, but I am unable to access it. What am I missing?
    I have tried:
    Select Calendar
    Click Open shared calendar
Search for the person's name. They appear in the list.
Select and click open. I get a popup saying "Outlook was redirected to the server secure.autodiscover.... to get new settings for your account (email address of person I selected). ..."
Tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". The same popup appears.
Again I tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". I get a popup saying "Outlook cannot open the folder. You do not have permission to open this folder. Contact (sharer's name) for permission."
Also, this colleague has triggered a share invitation email.
This contains an XML file that I cannot open with Outlook.

    Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.

  • ICal, Exchange2007 and shared calendars

    Hi there,
as there's no dedicated iCal topic I thought I'd dare to post this here, it's the most appropriate.
Just installed my brandnew snow covered cat, connected Mail/Addressbook/iCal to our company's Exchange2007, so far, so good.
Now, I'd like to open shared calendars (that's what they're called in Outlook) in iCal. This is NOT the same thing as a delegation! Has anyone gotten this to work? What am I missing?
    thanks a lot

*+"are you talking about calendars within the public folders, or the calendars of colleagues and resources that have been shared with you?*"+
    Yes, this needs clarification.
Perhaps this needs to be a separate thread but for me, I'm talking about the calendars that can be created within the public folder. Several years ago using Entourage, I created a scheduling calendar in the public folder that I can specify who gets access and in what capacity. The problem with Mail/iCal is there seems to be no way to view the public folder or it's contents. It's the same problem on an iPhone.
