Missing Commands Pages & Numbers - please feedback to Apple

Although the new versions of Numbers & Pages are much more user friendly, I have been very frustrated by Apple removing some of the frequently used commands, particularly the ability to set margins, as although I can Autofit when I print to fit the document to paper size, this does not help when I have to export the spreadsheet to Microsoft users as an Excel Document.
The option to change/remove the table outline in individual cells has also been removed.
I have sppoken to Appke Support today & they have confirmed that these options are no longer in Inspector.
Can I encourage as many people as possible to report these and other problems to Apple in the hope that they will be added in the next update. This can easily be done by clicking the Number in top left of screen & select Provide Numbers Feedback.

To tackle the iPhone feedback question: It is very hard to be able to tell what they do and do not take into account. I am sure that at least some of the feedback is looked at and considered but to what degree I for one do not know. I would hope it isn't there as a mirage to let us get our steam out, but when sent it doesn't get received. Again I think at least some of it gets noticed.
The 1.1.2 update was significant in securing a TIFF exploitation that was overlooked before. The international keyboard helped some people here but I don't think it was significant. It also brought back the ability to add ones own ringtones to the iPhone which is a plus.
As far as extra features Apple is secretive on this just like they are on when an update will come out. Until released no ones knows what it will entail, except the announcement of the iTunes store on iPhones. The SDK is going to solve a lot of things that are missing, I honestly believe it will be a significant step in iPhone development. http://developer.apple.com/iphone/devcenter/thirdpartyapps.php

Missing Keynote, Pages, Numbers

I recently did a full restore from the time machine backups on my hard drive. When the computer was done and turned back on, Keynote, Pages and Numbers were no longer on the tool bar. They are now just question marks that say the respective programs when I hover the curser over them. I have a desktop Mac that I have been using since 2008. I have kept up with all the updates and upgrades in software since purchasing it new from the Apple Store. I believe the programs should be in the iWork folder in applications, but there is nothing in there after the restore. How do I get them back?

If you have been keeping up with all the updates and software upgrades on your Mac as you say, then you know that the most recent versions of Keynote, Pages and Numbers are not in the iWork folder.
For at least the last year or more, each of the new updated applications have been standing alone in your Applications folder.
Look for them individually there, then drag the icon for each application to the dock if you want to place a shortcut there.

Safari on iOS 5 uses tabbed browsing, not the thumbnail/paged browsing as on previous iOS versions - to open a new tab tap the '+' to the right of the tab bar, and to close the current tab tap the 'x' on its left-hand end (you can't close the last tab).
In terms of your music, then if you haven't got a backup of your library which you can copy onto your computer, then you should be able to copy your iTunes purchases from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music bought from other sources or copied from your own CDs you will need to find a third-party program that can copy them off.

Merge issue : page numbering

does anybody know how to add "total pages" after merging pdf documents

in other words , i need to add at the bottom of the merge document

IBooks 2.1 and digital/print page numbers

The iTunes store says of the upgrade to iBooks 2.1 that it can show page numbers that correspond to the printed edition of select titles.
I've searched about but can find no detail on if or whether this applies to.ibooks format or more generically to .epub format.
Any ideas?

I'm guessing you're correct, though there is a method of correllating physical page numbers with documents in epub. I'm hoping this isn't a fixed length only thing or an iBooks Author only thing. For legal or educational books, having the ability to reference a specific page that's the same as it is in print is very important. As a matter of fact legal citations often reference page numbers.
So far Apple is doing a good job of providing a book reader that does more than novels, I hope the addition of page numbers is one of them. Note I have tried the epub method, but I can't get it to work, so I'm not sure if I'm messing up with the coding or if this isn't supported.

Just use Pages '09, which should be in your Applications/iWork folder.

Missing page numbers while generating PDF from Framemaker book

FrameMaker 9 book files have the correct master page applied and page numbers appear right. However, when generating PDF, the page numbers including the footer is missing.
I created another book file, yet same issue occurs.
Also, tried generating separate PDF for each chapter, same issue occurs.
I have installed Univers font from ATM, I'm using WIndows XP. The Footer tags are in Univers font. Could that be the reason?
Please advise.

The page numbers are missing on my e-mail page and I have looked into help and cannot find the answer. I use to have 25 messages per page and now it is continuous and very annoying.

From your description, I understand that your webmail provider used to display 25 emails per page, but now it is showing all the emails in a continuous form, where you can scroll down the page.
It appears that your webmail provider is Yahoo!, is this correct?
Yahoo! recently redesigned their webmail, and it is the only version available to users, so there is not much that can be done. Please understand that this is not a browser related issue, so Firefox is not at fault.

I have been trying to clean up my dock, but i can't remove certain items from my dock. I can't remove keynote, pages, numbers, or any microsoft applications. When I was trying to delete the apps they were not running or in use. I tried dragging the icons to the trash bin and I also tried dragging the icons away from the dock, but they just kee bouncing back to the dock. Please help!

Try deleting the Dock settings file. Open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.dock.plist", and finally, open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and type:
killall Dock
This will restore Dock to factory settings, so iWork applications and Microsoft apps will be deleted from Dock

Help please with Page Numbers & Facing Pages in Book Layout

I am having some dramas with my book project which is 168 pages including cover. I have created 22 different documents for the chapters and other pages. I had everything in a book and have been able to create a PDF, but then I needed to remove the cover so it can be printed separately and to change the page numbering to start at 1 after the contents page.
When I added numbers after the Contents page, it pushed all the pages out of order - ie what was previously sitting on the left was now sitting on the right etc.
Removing the cover also impacted on individual spreads.
Since then I have:
- Updated my program to resolve an issue where Indesign kept shutting down when I tried to change page numbers.
- Recreated the book twice, but find the spreads are all out of whack as I add them - doesn't appear to be auto paginating.
- Called Adobe and got given tutorials that have not helped me resolve the issue because I have followed the tutorials but it hasn't resolved the issues I am having.
Is there a way that you can stop autopagination and tell the pages which side they need to be on? I currently have one chapter finishing on an even number of pages and the next starting on an odd, even though there are an even number of pages in that chapter, which is bizarre? How do I fix this please?
I would sincerely appreciate anyone who can tell me how to fix this. I have read and watched so many tutorials showing how to set it up but there doesn't appear to be any that help with trouble shooting when you have followed the process but something bizarre happens.
Is there a way that you can dictate the sides that the pages should be on? Can you turn off the auto pagination anywhere? This is an urgent request.

A few things to consider:
Not all books are the same, but many begin on page one, which is a right page, and as it follows, all odd pages will be on the right with even pages on the left. If your book had the cover as part of the book, I wonder if that meant that your first page was on the left?
Books leaves hold two pages (front and back), and therefore book page counts need to be divisible by two. You say your book is 168 pages including the cover, which you moved to another document, leaving 167 book pages. If you were counting the back page, that might make for a 166 page book, which would be OK, but depending on how it will be printed, the page count may need to be divisible by 4, 8, 16, or higher, and the printer may need to add blank pages to get to the correct page count. Can you tell us how your book will be produced?
Many people like to keep their chapters in even-numbered page count, so that new chapters may start on the right. This sometimes requires you to have a blank left-sided page at the end of some chapters. This blank page is sometimes labeled "This page intentionally left blank" or some such wording (so as to let the reader know there wasn't a misprint), but isn't strictly necessary. Sometimes an ornament in the center of the page will do the same job.
Do you think these are things you would like to have in your book, or are you opposed to them for any reason? The answers may narrow the advise you get from the forum users.

Maybe I should just always export from Pages into Word (and likewise for the other types) before I upload to Dropbox? I hope not!!

If you don't want to export files and consider the Microsoft formats to be your basic working format, then you need to consider either using MsOffice for Mac or LibreOffice instead of the iWork suite.
You could always run a virtualised OSX on the Toshiba, but I don't think Apple will appreciate me telling you how to do that.
