Missing comments and notes fields for view columns

Hello,
I am missing the comments and notes fields for view columns in the relational model of DM. For the table columns these fields are present, so it would be nice to make this available for views too. The Designer import should be adapted too to import those fields.

My question is about the import of Designer for those fields. This is still not solved, even not in rel 4.0
In fact even DM 3.3 imports comments, notes and comments in RDBMS from Designer repository. Though comments and notes are not accessible through UI they are there and you can include them in custom report.

Auto To working for one material and not working for other material

Hope everybody is doing fine.
I have configured the auto TO. Its working fine for one material and not working for the other material. I checked the material master and wm 1,2 views have the same fileds / values. What could be wrong?
I didn't setup the back ground processing job. Is that is affecting it?

Why isn't it possible to make comments and notes in protected PDF's?

Many of the PDF's we use in the lectures in my school are protected with a password, and therefore I can't make comments and notes in the files when I've downloaded them, unlike in Acrobat Reader for PC. This is very inconvenient. Can't this easily be fixed?

All permanent print options are set from the Printer Control Panel without being in the printer setup from within the application.

I'm getting a message that says "content not authorized for viewing" Any ideas?

I have not used my AppleTV1 for quite a while and have since upgraded from a MacBook (black) to a MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). I tried to hook up to the AppleTV1 (wired connection) and see if I could get it working. All seemed to go well but I can't seem to download my Library to the Apple TV. When I tried to view a movie or TV show from my library on the MacBook Pro, I get a message that the "content is not authorized for viewing" What does this mean and can I fix it??

I did a full factory reset on the Apple TV and then set evrything up again. Synced all my stuff from the computer, which seemed to download ok, but still get the "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content" message. It's very frustrating. All the content was purchased from the iTumes Canada store, I'm in Canada but can't watch it on the TV. I tried changing to the US store but same message. I think I'll just give up. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with an Apple product and I have never used anyrhing else but Apple. Thanks for your help anyway it's much appreciated.

The selected log is not prepared for viewing error

this is literally my first day using signal express and up to now everything went fine recording voltage from accelerometer and an impact hammer. Without me changing any parameters as far as I remember I now get the errror 'the selected log is not prepared for viewing. Once recording has completed you must right-click on the log and select Make log viewable before viewing it'
Apart from the fact that there is no such option on the log (only the option of Show Value by right clicking)
I went to Tools--> Options--->Logging and made sure that the prepare log data for viewing is on the 'during logging' option.
I then changed that to 'after logging complete' to see if the error stops but nothing yet.
Any help would be appreciated

turns out the problem was linked with not having enough space on the server were I saved the logs...when I deleted some previous work to make up space everything worked just fine. Problem solved, thank you for your interest.

Agreed about predefined WiFi key. You will find it in clear and capable of being changed under Advanced Settings / Wireless Settings / WPA.

Mikey, I have the exact same problem. Dropped my 3gs on Thanksgiving, phone was not responsive, plugged into the wall charger, went to grey iPhone restore screen, then said to connect to itunes. So I plugged it into itunes but itunes wont recognize it nor will my computer. I searched the internet for hours with no success. I tried to change USB ports and cords, tired removing the SIM card, reinstalled itunes, everything. When I put it in DFU mode itunes recognizes an iphone in recovery mode, so I click restore and update, then I get error 1602 every time. My iPhone also loses power when I unplug it from the wall. I do not know what to try next. You are the only person I have found with the same exact problem I have. I will update you if I find a way to get my phone working again and I hope you will do the same. I'm very frustrated

Add comments button not visible for IE and firefox users?

hi.. i've used iweb 06 v 1.1.2 to create a small website and blog, with 'add comments' buttons on the blog pages. when i view my website from my own laptop with safari i can see and use the add comments button, but when i view the website from pcs running internet explorer, or from my own or another mac laptop running firefox the add comments buttons are not there. any ideas why this should be and how i can solve it?

Thanks for the info in this article it was very helpful. I have one question as I created a test case that used dept & emp tables as master and detail.
Placing code in the emp detail ViewRowImpl that also tests to see if the master is updateable and it all works fine but I noticed that when you run it in the tester the dept master fields are grayed out but not the emp details and if you bring up the emp detail with out the view link then they are grayed out.
Just wondering is this just a fact of the detail being shown in a table in the master detail and not a form or is there more to it then that??

yes as follows:
isMasterUpdateable checks the Dept table to see if it is updateable before allowing emp to be updated.

When I run this in the tester the results are correct except for the visual where the form is grayed out but the detail in the table is not. Should the table gray out also or is this effect something that must be coded in all Jtables that i may implement? If it needs to be coded to get the effect where does Jtable check for isAttributeUpdateable ?

Using Currency and Quantity fields in View

Hi BW Experts,
I Created a Generic Data Source and tried to include a view in it for Extraction.since my view contains fields of type Currency and Quantity,it is not allowing.
What can be done for this.If I want to include them for my Extaction process how it can be done.
Please clarify.

you must check in the table of your view in Tab Help Value what Currency/Unit field must correspond to your quantity/value fields in view, then you muast insert these fields in your view and DataSource with inserting directly the corresponding table in the view or inserting valu via CMOD.

Missing feature: APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL not useful for TRANSLATED apps

Thank you Joel for confirming my bug reports yesterday. I have two more problems. One too simple to explain, another more complex but reproducable (related to ora-4031 in large pool with translated apps).

APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL intended to import application from command line.
It is great feature. But it is so great only for non-translated applications.
if I use translated application, I can't use ONLY command line. I still must logon to Apex Builder to SEED and PUBLISH before translated application wil be translated.
So, there are no expected benefits from using apex_application_install for translated application.
Workarownd:
Didn't fint yet. Only manually clicking on seed&publish in Apex Builder.
Maybe I miss something easy and everybody kbows how to seed and publish from command line?
If so, please, let me know how to do it.

All my DEV, TEST, UAT and other enviroments are on the same database.
In my example I will clone DEV to DEMO. Each of this enviroments has its own parsing schemas and workspaces.
1.I go to see DEV workspace. App 110 already seeded and published.
Home > Application Builder > Application 110 > Shared Components > Translate > Seed and Publish
I see there two mapped translated apps.
Column "Strings" = 69.444
Please, remember this number. This number is the same for both mapped apps as they are seeded and published already.
2. I export it with APEXexport including translation.
3.I import it into workspace DEMO as app 111 using great APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL.
I preffer command line to export and import as it save time and reduce risk of mistakes. There are other reasons exists, not for this topic.
4.Now application is imported and I go to DEMO workspace to check result.
Home > Application Builder > Application 111 > Shared Components > Translate > Seed and Publish.
I see two mapped translated apps. It is good.
BUT!
Column Strings = 9251.
Do you still remember 69.444?
To restore translations I must just SEED and PUBLISH manually.
So, there no way to create a copy of translated app WITH COMMAND LINE ONLY if the source and target apps are on the same database.
As APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL intented to create a copy of application with command line, I tell you, it does not work for translated apps as expected.

These statements show an unexpected behavior when a column is added to a table as 'BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE NOT NULL' and added afterward to the table's primary key column set:
create table test_1 (a char(1))

I think the error message '[350] Referential integrity violated' should not happen because the column 'b' really contains 'false'. But there obviously seem to be a difference before and after setting the column 'b' explicitly to 'false'. I can imagine that this depends on the way how the index for the primary key is updated. Probably the index is not properly updated in this context(?)

you're right, this is a bug and indeed seems to caused by the way the DEFAULT boolean is stored in the page.
(There is no separate index for the primary key in MaxDB as all data is stored in B*trees - basically the table is the primary key).
This is how the record looks like when column b is 'false' only due to the change of the DEFAULT value:

Little difference but this leads to the problems during the foreign key validation.
I'll inform the developers next week about this.
As a workaround you'll have to explicitly update the columns for which you change the default setting.
