MISSING_COMPONENT : oracle.j2ee, 10.1.3.4.0 while applying Opatch 6702510
Hi,
We are upgrading our test instance from 12.0.6 to 12.1.3 ,with IAS_ORACLE_HOME now upgraded from 10.1.3 to 10.1.3.4.0
But when we apply additional patch Opatch 6702510 on IAS_ORACLE_HOME we get following error:
MISSING_COMPONENT : oracle.j2ee, 10.1.3.4.0
This Oracle Home does not have components/versions required by the patch.
Prior to upgrading our IAS_ORACLE_HOME we have upgraded JDK and JRE on Application and database front.
OPATCH Version is: 1.0.0.0.56
OS: OEL 5.4 64 bit, Database Version:10.2.0.4 Ebiz: 12.0.6
Your help is appreciated.
Regards,
Milan.
Milan,
Please do the following:
1) Download the latest OPATCH version -- Which OPatch version to download to apply/rollback interim patches? [Video] [ID 374092.1]
2) Source the 10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME env file from $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3 directory -- <CONTEXT_NAME>.env
Issue "echo $ORACLE_HOME" to verify that ORACLE_HOME points to 10.1.3 before you apply the patch.
Thanks,
Hussein

SAP j2ee engine is not running error while applying patches.
Hi all,
Iam in the process of aplpying patches using JSPM tool , for some of them iam getting the error messages , when i checked the log file for this tool it says:
SAP J2ee engine is not running , unable to login to <HOST name> with id <Login id>.
Iam very new to this activity ,can anybody help me in this regard , i wil be very thankful.
Thanks and Regards.
Niyati.Hi,
What exactly do you see when you say that the status in the MMC is OK? I don't think it can be green if you say that you get a message saying "Service Unavailable" when you try to login. If you get that message, it means that the service hasn't either been started or could not be started in case of an error. In this case the server status in the MMC should be yellow (or gray in case none of the services could be started)...
Could you perhaps check it again? Another point to check would be if the connection to the database is OK. If you are using MySQL MaxDB, you could use the Database Manager tool to check this. Sometimes the log files fill up the database and the server cannot start because the database is full. In such cases you will need to clear the logs and then restart the entire cluster.

I did post in the JDeveloper forum and John Stegeman re-directed me to the "JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview" forum.
I was leaning more toward an operating system issue since 11g TP4 works just fine on my Windows XP SP2 desktop. It is just so slow on it (504 MB of RAM) that I decided to run it on my laptop (3062 MB of Ram) where the performance is awesome, but I can't test a damn thing since I can't get the embedded server to work/start. Just hoping others have solved this issue and can pass that knowledge on to others.

Oracle J2EE container, Web Layout, JSP, Tomcat
Please help me with the next questions:
1)Oracle DB server and Oracle J2EE container are located in different places. The jsp in Oracle report web layout was generated. I put this JSP on the Oracle J2EE container and tried to run this jsp:

Do I need to deploy this jsp on Oracle J2EE container and if yes in what way?
2)can I run this jsp in Tomcat?
Thank you.hello,
reports JSPs need the report server environment availabel and can not be deployend to a vanilla J2EE container. you can take a look at our "Tools" section of the reports page here on OTN (go to the reports homepage and click on the "search" link in the news section. there you can look for "tools and utilities" which contain instructions on how what you need to do. keep in mind though, that this is not a supported configuration. the only way to deploy a reports JSP is inside the J2EE container of the EE edition of the appliation server.
at this point we do not provide any instruction for other, non oracle, containers.
thanks,

It would help if you could give us more details...
What type of soa webservices are we talking about here (JAX-RPC/BPEL/OSB)?
And how exactly are you testing your soa webservices in a browser (EM)?
A valid SOAP will have content-type: text/xml
You may be pointing to a invalid endpoint or you may have an authentication/authorisation problem, so you are receiving html instead of soap...

Hi,
I am constructing a mime message in resource adapter deployed in OC4J container (SOA 10.1.3.4).
I am attachments as body parts to the mime message. I am setting a InputStreamDataSource on the contents of the attachment which is a input stream. I am getting the below exception when i add the body parts to the MIME Multi Part using MulitPart.writeTo(bodypart)
java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String
at oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.soap.ch.XmlDataContentHandler.writeTo(XmlDataContentHandler.java:170)
at javax.activation.ObjectDataContentHandler.writeTo(DataHandler.java:839)
at javax.activation.DataHandler.writeTo(DataHandler.java:295)
at javax.mail.internet.MimeBodyPart.writeTo(MimeBodyPart.java:1147)
at javax.mail.internet.MimeBodyPart.writeTo(MimeBodyPart.java:668)
at javax.mail.internet.MimeMultipart.writeTo(MimeMultipart.java:233)
OC4J is using XMLDataContentHandler how can i resolve this issue. I tried registering the library which contains XMLDataContentHandler but same error is hit.
Any info will be helpfull in resolving this issue.

i test the soa webservcies in a browserHi,
It would help if you could give us more details...

OWS-04115 oracle.j2ee.ws.server.EndpointNotFoundException error
Third party got the error i.e. " com.wm.lang.flow.FlowException: 404 : Not Found" when they tried to test the payment notification by hitting the url provided to them by us ( in the middle another network team is there who just does the IP routing ).
When we checked the log , we found the following error .
Error> <oracle.webservices.service> <OWS-04086> <oracle.j2ee.ws.server.EndpointNotFoundException: /default/SADAD_Payment_Notify/HTTP_Inbound

In OHS, we have routed the service and it's working fine.
Please note that we are getting successful when trying to do the same from browser, but not from Java program.
The log file is attached with the SR.
Please suggest.Hi Stephen,
This error
Error(11,30): cannot access class oracle.j2ee.ws.server.ServletEndpointContextImpl; file oracle\j2ee\ws\server\ServletEndpointContextImpl.class not found
is due to the Rules engine relying on parts of OC4J 10.1.3 since 10.1.3's version of wsserver.jar contains ServletEndpointContextImpl,
C:\> jar tvf wsserver.jar | grep ServletEndpointContextImpl
7507 Mon Aug 08 19:09:48 PDT 2005 oracle/j2ee/ws/server/ServletEndpointContextImpl.class
whereas BPEL-PM/OC4J 10.1.2GA (in oc4j/webservices/lib) does not.
The inescapable conclusion from this is that this will only be officially certified when BPEL PM is released with OC4J 10.1.3.
You might be able to try to import some of the dependencies from OC4J 10.1.3 preview, but only on an experimental basis, not for Production purposes.
