Missing connection type

Hi all,
when I try to import tables from database I not see none Oracle connection type. I see only ODBC 2, ODBC 3.5, DB2, XML.
I have installed Oracle 9.2 (created into one Tablespaces, Users, ecc..) and after OBISE1.
How do I can connect directly with Oracle without crossing ODBC?

I have the same problem. In an another BI installation I was seeing OCI option while importing from database but lastly I installed OBISE1 and in this one I don't see OCI option in import menu. What can it be the main reason ?

Missing Connection Types in Report Data Source Properties

I am running three installations of SharePoint 2013 with SQL 2012 for Business Intelligence, with Kerberos working.
I have been having intermittent issues with SQL Reporting Services in a multi-server configuration, but finally had it working in all three environments. We discovered many of our issues were caused by master page customizations which we have now disabled
temporarily while we work on function issues.
However, we started having a new problem with Reporting Services on just ONE of the environments, and we are not sure what happened. Most everything appears to still be working, except Reporting Services. I have verified that features are enabled
in both the farm and the site collection, as well as insured managed content types are being allowed on the target document libraries. I also verified the Reporting Service properties and database connections. However, I have found two clear symptoms
which I can find no other information regarding (in logs or in online searches):
1) If we try to create a new "Report Data Source" using the SharePoint UI, it will open a new Data Source Properties window, but in the "Data Source Type" field, there are no values available for me to select my connection type (e.g.,
Microsoft SQL Server).
2) In Central Administration, while administering the Reporting Services Service Application, I can manage a majority of the settings, including System Settings, Manage Jobs, Key Management, etc. However, if I click on the link for "E-mail Settings,"
I get the dreaded "Sorry Something went wrong screen," with an error saying that "Object reference is not set to an instance of an object."
So I am hoping someone has an idea of where I can look for additional information on this issue, or even better, knows what I am missing to get Reporting Services functional again in this environment!

I assume you are installing Reporting Services SharePoint mode for SharePoint 2013, you need to:
1. Install "Reporting Services – SharePoint" and "Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Products" on the SharePoint server that the SSRS service will run on. All other SP servers only need the "Reporting Services
add-in for SharePoint Products."
2. Run the Insall-SPRSService and Install-SPRSServiceProxy on Central Admin and SSRS server.
3. Start SSRS Service only on desired SSRS servers.

Connection type "Application Server ..." missing

I'm trying to create a connection to an "Oracle Application Server 10g". When prosessing the wizard you have an option to select "Connection Type". This list does not show "Oracle Appliaction Server".
If I press the Help button the list shows these options:
Standalone OC4J 11g
Oracle Application Server 11g
Oracle Application Server 10g
WebLogic Server 9.x
Tomcat 5.x
JBoss 4.0.x
Is Oracle Application Server removed from the preview?

Just a quick note. JDeveloper 11g will not provide deployment to 10.1.3.x directly. This feature will be enable through Ant tasks which JDev provides.

Authentication error when creating EPM Add-in connection with SAP BO Enterprise connection type

Hello, Experts,
I have a problem with creation of EPM Add-in connection when SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type is selected.
An error message is "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed."
Here are the steps that were implemented and how this issue was reproduced:
SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation 10.0 SP12 for Microsoft was installed and configured.
Integration between SAP BPC and SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 SP02 was implemented. SAP BO users can successfully connect to SAP BPC system.
EPM connector was successfully installed and deployed in SAP BusinessObjects BI server.
BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 64BIT was installed in SAP BusinessObjects server.
EPM connection was successfully created in SAP BusinessObjects CMC.
EPM Add-in and BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 32BIT was installed in another computer (let's call it CLIENT) which has MS Office 2007 32BIT installed.
From CLIENT computer we have launched Excel manually and successfully created BPC connection with Connection Type - Local.
Then we have logged into BI Launch Pad and launched New / EPM document (Excel). Excel has started.
In EPM Add-in we have pressed Logon.
In connection window selected SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type.
An error "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed." appears.
Before this error appears we are not getting any window where we could select EPM connection (created in CMC) nor the possibility to enter username or password.
Looking forward you valuable comments and suggestions.

Our user has Full Access to all BPC tasks and it is administrator in BI system.
Also we can successfully connect with the same user using Connection type "Local".
We had done some investigation and in the BPC SQL Server trace log we can catch the following message when an error occurs:

It is very interesting that after the EPM workbook is launched via BI Launch Pad till an error occurs we are NOT provided with possibility to enter any username and password. So the EPM add-in should use the same user which was logged into BI Launch Pad - in our case the user with administrative rights both in BI Launch Pad and BPC systems. Am I missing anything?

PC Suite - there is no available connection type

OK,
I'm running XP SP2 on an IBM t30 laptop. Looking to have all 3 connection methods available. Bluetooth is Widcomm 3.0.x and PC Suite version is 6.8.22.
Initially installed PC Suite fine, but had problems with getting bluetooth connection (IRComm and Cable were fine). Read that best way round this was the reinstall after doing some fiddling with the bluetooth setup. Duly reinstalled, only now I get error when I start the connection manager or manage connections. either "there is no available connection type" for the first or "connection to PC suite failed code:Init IMediaControl2".
In order to try and deal with this I have, Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Uninstalled the app and run the PC Suite cleanup tool 3.3 reinstalled the app. Uninstalled the app, run PC suite cleanup, removed all nokia keys from the registry, run cleanup again and reinstalled. The problem persists, my patience does not.

My experience may also be relevant, and since it took me two whole days to remedy it (call me slow, but I'm persistent), I'll share it. I too stopped being able to get a Bluetooth connection in PC Suite, even though the PC could see the phone (6230) in Bluetooth settings and I could see some of the folders on the phone.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PC Suite countless times, did all the spring cleaning I was told to do, nothing. So I thought maybe there is a problem with the Bluetooth stack.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, which uses Bluetooth stuff from Toshiba, so I went to their site, http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/. It said to check out Device Manager, and, what do you know, all the Toshiba Bluetooth drivers were missing. I have no idea how, but anyway, I downloaded a new stack at http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/pages/download.php
I installed it, cross my fingers, prayed to the Bluetooth Fairy, and YES YES YES! It works. The end.

CBMA issue in PI 7.31 - Connection Type is JMS

Not sure if this is the right place to post this questions. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am facing an issue with CBMA in PI 7.31 which is working perfectly in quality system. I configured alert rules and scheduled AlertConsumerJob also. Configured alerting.isactive to true and alerting.target to '1'.
I observed that Message Alert Configuration in PIMON is routed to alert framework rather than to the page where rules that are created in ID of PI are displayed. From nwa -> soa -> monitor -> Message Alert Configuration, able to see alert rules created in ID of PI. Does correcting this helps me? Is there any configuration in NWA I am missing?
Not sure of this is correct or not, but I tried pinging the url http://<host>:<port>/AdapterFramework/aerting/ping.jsp, which shows connection type as RFC in production. Whereas in quality it is JMS. Is this the issue? Please guide if any configuration is missing in NWA.

It depends.
The basic connection type uses the jdbc thin (type 4) driver. This means that you don't need oracle client software installed - all you need is SQLDeveloper. The down side is that the thin driver doesn't support all the available features. Things like operating system authentication, fast connection failover, and some of the more complex data types are not supported.
The TNS connection type uses the OCI driver. This means that you must have an oracle client installed (and it must match the version of the jdbc driver provided with SQLDeveloper.) This lets you use more features.
I always use Basic connections, but I don't need any of the missing features.

Missing connection of Material in Plant to Material Ledger

Hi,
We encountered an error when doing GR for PO without Account assignment.
Error: Missing connection of Material in plant to the material ledger.
Issue: Not able to post goods receipt for materials for particular Plant D059 with HIBE material type for purchase order without account assignment.
Materials were setup before value update selected for HIBE material type for plant X and hence price determination was blank in Material master.
client was unable to create purchase requisition for these materials andfound value update was not selected for this material type for this plant.
Later when value update was selected for HIBE for Plant X, Goods receipt cannot be posted with reference to PO without account assignment. But able to do MIGO-GR for account assigned Purchase orders.
After value updating for this material type for this plant X, purchase requisitions and orders were created but unable to do goods receipt for PO without account assignment. Goods receipt can be posted
for Purchase orders with account assignment.
Now we are unable to do change price determination for material attachedto HIBE material type.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

As I have mentioned earlier, when the stock update was done for this material type, the material was created and it didnt have any value in ML Act and Price determination.
Material ledger was activated to production.
when the client found they were not able to create PR with account assignment, then value update was selected for this material type.
Now there is a problem in Goods receipt for PO without account assignment.
Whereas there is no problem in GR for PO with account assignment.
I cannot do now CKMM also since the present price determination is a mandatory field and blank is no accepted.

if the material type of the material concerned is configured for value updating you need to have an accounting view. The system does not know what to do with the price difference from MIRO without getting a price determination parameter for material ledger from the accounting view.

That's because WebLogic 10 went into production after JDeveloper 10.1.3 was already out.
Try and see if the WebLogic connection that is in there still works with 10.
If not you can just create the EAR/WAR file from JDeveloper and pick it up and deploy them with the Weblogic admin interface or with an Ant task.

Flash Player 9 & "Missing Content-Type"

A Flash Movie located in "domain_A" reads a

With FlashPlayer 8 it will work very good (I've used this for
about 2 years). Now, with FPlayer 9 it's impossible to read

May You tell me where I can insert Content-type ?
I have these files in the root:
crossdomain.xml (the policy file), index.xml (the data file)
and
xml.spi and NOT html file.

well I managed to generate some good news. I attempted
installing the version 9 again and it didn't work so I went
throught the install list and located the subdirectory it was
attempting to ubsuccessfully install into and deleted the entire
subdirectory and reinstalled again. this time it correctly
installed version 9 and when I rebooted and ran the version checker
it finally responded with the correct version 9 within the correct
oS win 98. I think what had happened is I accidently clicked the
uopgrade icon and it overwrote version 9 with version 10 and
wouldn't allow me to rewrite the version 9 back into its original
location. anyways it is now working and I'll know better that to
authorize a version upgrade on the 98 system.

How do I connect my Centro to the Internet via bluetooth over PC's Internet? Where is Centro's PPP Connection Type? How do I setup Login Script for bluetooth connection?

I am trying to set up bluetooth on the Centro to connect to the internet via my PC's internet.
HotSync over bluetooth works successfully.
Computer specs: Toshiba P205-S6277; Bluetooth Stack v5.10.04 (currently using); Bluetooth Monitor v3.01 (to use Vista's built-in bluetooth)
I think I have narrowed my problem down to 3 things.
(1) Finding Network Access properties (to allow connected devices to access the internet)
(2) Finding Centro's Network Connection Type: PPP
(3) Finding the correct Login Script to use
for (1) I think I've looked everywhere; found nothing on Network Access.
Checked control panel: only Bluetooth Local COM
Right-clicked bluetooth icon > Settings: File transfer, PAN Networking, PAN DHCP server, AV controls. Other bluetooth settings are for file transfer or object push. I don't see anything like this.
I'm stumped on (2). It seems as if palm removed this option under Centro's Advanced network settings .
Nearly all the forums that I read says to choose Connection Type: PPP.
(3) Found 2 scripts that seemed would work. I don't know how it exactly works but it sounds workable.
First script:

**UPDATE** I found on this forum (Reply # 3689) that the script is needed only if you are using Palm OS 4 or under. Centro uses Palm OS 5.49121. Can anyone support this?

I'm currently reading this site and trying out its decribed methods. I will update this thread when I get the results.
I'm using the Centro. And If anyone's been able to successfully connect to the internet on the Centro via a bluetooth connection to the PC WITHOUT 3rd party applications, please share. If not, please share any ideas.

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

PC Suite - no USB and Serial Connection Type avail...

I have been trying to solve this problem for days now. I have Windows XP and Nokia 5310. After I installed Nokia PC Suite, there is no USB or Serial connection type in the Connection Manager; it only has Blue Tooth and Infrared conection available. I have install and uninstalled PC suite and used PC Suite Cleaner to clean the installation. I also went into the add and remove program in the control panel and click on "change" to fix the Nokia Connection Manager and Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver. It still didn't work. The thing is that the first time when installed PC Suite on my laptop, it did have USB connection option. Later after uninstalled PC Suite and reinstalled it, it start to have this problem. I am extremly frustrated. Can anyone help please?

Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Software, there you need to uninstall all Nokia software (Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Cable driver, PC Connectivity Solution ...)
Download and run Nokia PC Suite Cleaner
Reboot your computer
Download and install PC Suite here.
Connect your phone via USB cable (if possible use a different USB jack) and follow the instructions on the screen.
Maybe when I uninstalled Chinese version of PC suite, the order in which it was uninstalled was not the one you suggested above. So，I followed your instruction and uninstall order to uninstall PC Suite again. I also uninstalled all the antivirus, spyware, and firewall before I reinstall the PC Suite. It worked; then, I reinstalled all the other security software again after I had reinstalled the PC Suite. Although it worked, I still didn't know what exactly cause the problem the first place, PC Suite version, Security protection software, or the order which it was uninstalled? All it matters is it's working.

PC Suite says no connection types available - but ...

I've a 6500 Slide. I've installed the latest PC Suite 7.0.8.2.
I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
I used to be able to connect with PC Suite and update (etc.) but recently, after the most recent PC Suite upgrade, it doesn't recognise 'CONNECTION TYPES' on my machine.
The USB cable and port work fine - in Windows I can drag and drop files.
So why won't PC Suite recognise the cable and allow me to use the mobile through PC Suite?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice.
I've removed batteries and SIM cards from the mobile etc.
All help gratefully received.
