Missing Contact Info

I've had my iPod touch for a few days now. Everything has seemed to sync perfectly. My bookmarks, calendars, and photos are all there. But there's a majority of my contacts who are missing their info. Even my own card is missing info from it. Can anyone help?

Hi there.
I've got the same problem. I first synced some groups but then decided to sync my entire address book. Now there are some contact with no information in them. When I complete the missing information on the iPod touch and sync back the entered info appears along the existing info in my mac's adress book.
Strange thing. I heard someone say that it might be a problem with the format of the vcards but that would be strange. Hopefully this will be solved soon.
Thomas.

Problems with iTunes 7.1.2 : Missing Contacts Info !
I synced my iPhone 5s (running v 7.1.1) to my late 2010 MacBook Pro 13" (OSX 10.9.4) using iTunes (can't remember exactly which version of iTunes, but whatever was the latest around the end of May 2014).
Subsequently, I upgraded my iPhone 5s to v 7.1.2 and also upgraded iTunes to 11.3.1 (2), then synced my 5s to my MacBook Pro.
Following this, on both my iPhone and on my Mac (I don't use iCloud), many of my Contact details had reverted to a much older version, and most of the information under the "notes" field in each contact was missing.
Is there a way to revert to the prior version of iTunes (7.1.1) or otherwise restore this missing information?  There is critical information in my Contacts that has now ceased to exist!

Often in upgrading the OS, QT or FCP for some odd reason QT will get knocked slightly off kilter. Before doing the step back to 6.5.2, try a complete QT reinstall.
    This is how:
Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg
Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.
    Run the Quicktime installer.
Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)
    Reboot
FWIW, FCP4.5 can run without issue under 10.4.x and QT7, but it is VERY stable under 10.3.9 and QT6.5.2.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes & iOS 5 Upgrades-missing backups, missing contact info

Using Windows XP, upgraded iTunes to 10.5.0.142 couple of days ago, then iOS 5 yesterday. When I installed iOS 5, it didn't reload my apps AND was missing any contact data beyond 2 phone numbers.  In iTunes and on my pc \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup I only had 1 backup from yesterday (the day I upgraded) and it didn't inlcude my last iOS4 backup either.  I had sync'd multiple times last week as I was adding contacts. WHERE DID THEY GO?
Also missing contact phone numbers where I had more than 2 phone numbers.  Noticed in my Favorites that some were numbers and also tried other 'fixes' mentioned elsewhere like just editing one contact or importing SIM data -- none worked.  I have been using iDrive Lite so I can recover some, but ***?  Don't know what else is missing.
And, apps didn't restore at all.  Have to redownload all, but at least app data seems to have been preserved.  What's going on???

I have solved it by unchecking (momentaneously till apple fix it) the "Convert higher bit rate songs" option.
I know that it need more space but i don't have too much music synced so.. it isn't a problem for me..
I have this problem because i'm using the "manually manage music and videos", i'm not using the auto sync option because iTunes always try to copy my new apps to my mac even having that option unchecked...
Now we have iCloud... i don't know why apple still have not deleted this feature!
Anyway... i have solved it momentaneously.
    Apple.... come on!

  • TS4036 I have an issue with the last OS update and missing contact info on my iphone 5

Since being prompted by my iPhone 5 to do a OS update,I did so,checked where appropraite to proceed with the OS update at the prompts, screen on phone went thru a couple of iCloud questions, and I proceeded.OS downloaded, everything was I guess ok,until,I noticed that half or more of my phone contacts are missing, everything from a to k is there, everything from l to z is gone...I need those contacts restored!!! *** happened???? Where did they go,I do remember somewhere where I clicked on something to do with the iCloud, but I didn't think it would erase half of my phone contact list.I really need those phone number back.Any clues on how to restore these?? I've already sync'd my phone with my computer, and tried to figure out on my phone what to do,but no luck.  Rob

Last point...who archives? On my regular email page I now have the Archive icon to the left of my Delete icon which I would prefer was to the left, first in the line as this is the icon I use mostly. With Folders, my Sent and Trash lists, who needs to archive?
I can help you only with the placement of the icon placement -- if you right-mouse click on the toolbar, then select Customize Toolbar, you can move an icon to where you want it to be.

  • Apple Watch Messages app missing contact info?

Sometime in my fiddling, I managed to break the Messages app. It no longer displays contact names from my iPhone Contacts. I've tried everything shy of resetting the watch. Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks.

Reported the same issue a week ago: Incorrect sender ID when sending Tap, Heartbeat and Sketch messages.
Be sure to report this as a bug to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html

Lost all contact info.  All my Aps are there but all the data/progress is missing.  When I plug my iphone into the usb fto synch up with my itunes on the computer a message comes up and says "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file".  This is very frustrating

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two.  Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

  • My contacts are only showing phone number, all my contact info is missing

Help!  I received a text and it only showed the number, I recognized it being my sisters number, but then I looked at my favorites and all the names started disappearing one by one, now I only have number and no contacts except my google contacts.  Help!!

Do you maybe have your contacts separated into groups? If so, perhaps you have unchecked the group that the missing contact are in.
In the Contacts app, click the Groups button in the upper left corner. Make sure all groups have a check mark next to them.

  • HT4859 how to restore backed up contact info

When I downloaded and installed iOS 6, I lost 3/4's of my contact info. How do I retrieve this much needed info?

Log into icloud.com using a computer's browser and look at the contacts page.  If only 3/4's of the contacts are there as well, then the remaining ones were not part of icloud.  I suspect that your device had some contacts in the "icloud" section and others in the "On my iPhone" (or whatever device you are using).  Those in the latter section were probably not in a backup and thus did not return.
If you back up to icloud, just know that icloud contacts (or any of the Apple data like calendars, reminders, etc.) are not part of a backup, since they are already in icloud's databases.  If you did have the missing contacts on a computer, then if not there, look for them in a backup of the computer,  For example, if using a mac, check in Time Machine.

  • If you are missing contacts on your Pre that are present in GMail...

I had two problems when I first got my Pre on release day. Multiple contacts "nesting" and missing contacts (not brought over from my GMail Contacts). Recently I had a reboot issue following 1.3.5 and 1.3.5.1 updates to WebOS. Palm had me run WebOS Doctor and that wiped all my info. When I came back into WebOS my two email accounts, contacts and calendar did not work. I was able to remove the emails and rebuild them back to working order. When I tried to log into contacts or calendar (GMail) all I got  was a spinning circle and "Logging in".  After completely removing and re-entering contacts and calendar I got all of my calendar and what looked like 20 of my 392 contacts to come into the Pre. After examination I noticed two nested (Pre calls them linked) contacts. Inside a single contact were 25 others. I am not aware of a batch file to do this so I clicked on the linked contacts icon (top right corner) and 25 times I selected "unlink". When All were unlinked (including another cache) I now had 85 of my 392 contacts. I then called Palm and got level one (of whom had never heard of this issue!!) and after an hour was given level two. I had previously spoken to Dev techs about this back when the phone was released and had not yet heard of a solution. After a lot of wrangling with level two the tech asked me if I have any contacts that begin with "special characters". I first said, "No". Then I asked if a number is considered a special character? I removed the first three of my 392 contacts as they started with a number and WHAM! ALL of my remaining contacts came screaming into my Pre!! I find it hard to believe that the WebOS is so unyielding as to not accept a contact named "800 number for Palm" or "1922 Peachtree RD" but if you want all of your GMail contacts to sync to your Pre make sure all names begin with ONLY a through z.

  • Missing contacts

Last night I discovered about 1/3 of my contacts were missing. Some say NO NAME with maybe an address or email address but no phone Number. There are lots of phone numbers with no names or addresses with them, also the contacts that remained seemed to have reverted to older information that was there previously rather than current information. Some of the ones that say NO NAME are all blank.
I know that everything was there on Saturday, so this must have happened Sunday or Monday. I do have Mobile Me but syncing with that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

    Try the following.
First check if your contact info is correct with your MobileMe online address book by logging in to your MobileMe account with a browser.
If correct, on your iPhone go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your MobilMe account.
Turn Contacts off for over the air syncing. This will erase all contacts from your iPhone with a warning message provided indicating this will occur.
Wait a minute or two for all contacts to be deleted from your iPhone.
Follow this by turning Contacts back on for over the air syncing.

  • My husband has a 4s. He hadn't synced phone in a long time. I did the sync on his ipad first, then i phone.  am now missing contacts from iphone. any way to restore back to the way it was b4 I performed sync?

My husband has a 4S.  He hadn't performed a sync in a long time.  I sync'd his I Pad first, then the I Phone.  His I Phone is now missing quite a few of his contacts.  Any way to retrieve?

If the iPad and iPhone contacts are being synced with the same supported address book app on the computer, they should now be the same on each device.
Is Sync Contacts selected under the Info tab for the iPad and iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
Which supported address book app on the computer are contacts being synced with?
Are the missing contacts available in the supported address book app on the computer?

  • Contact sheets with header for contact info?

I'm trying to print my first contact sheet (actually a jewel case insert), and I'm very surprised to see that there appears to be no way to include some type of header and/or footer that would include my contact info, copyright, etc.
Am I missing something in AP, or is there a work around for this? It seems useless to send out a contact sheet that doesn't include at least my name.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Because you didn't look hard enough. Make sure you check "Photo Info" and the click on the popup next to it and select filename or setup a custom text in Edit..

  • Missing Contact Names - Only Numbers Showing - All Yahoo Contact Data Gone

The other day I did a sync and afterward in the phone tab, all my Favorites and Recents are displaying numbers and NOT the names of my contacts as they had always done before.
Further, if I click on the "Contacts" tab, there are only 10 contacts listed when before there were several hundred!
This was just a sync, no software update. I have tried several troubleshooting steps including:
    1. Checked my Yahoo account online to make sure all contact info still exists there, it does.
    2. Re-entered my Yahoo credentials in iTunes to make sure contact info was syncing. It accepted credentials as expected.
    3. I restored my iPhone using the latest backup (from a few days prior) with no luck.
    4. I restored my iPhone from a backup several months ago (July) and my contact names were back...but all my music, apps, photos, video, etc. was gone so I restored back to the most recent backup.
    5. I then imported all my Yahoo contacts into my Gmail account and then added my Gmail account to the phone in the hope that it would grab the contact names. Nope.
So now I'm stuck and looking for assistance from anyone who can offer my advice on what else I may try if anything. This seems to be a reoccurring issue with Yahoo contacts on the forums here as of late with different people experiencing slightly different behavior (like me having all numbers but missing names and other people having names but no numbers).
What's going Yahoo? What's going on Apple?
What's the fix, or at least a workaround???

    Update on the Gmail workaround:
Importing all my Yahoo contacts to Gmail and then choosing to sync Google/Gmail contacts in iTunes before syncing seemed to do the trick.
I think this is definitely a Yahoo contacts problem and not necessarily iPhone.
    Any thoughts?
