Missing Contact pictures in Outlook 2013

I have Outlook 2013 on a PC and using iCloud for my contacts and calendars.  My contacts however do not show contact pictures that are present.  Is this a bug or a feature?

I am in the same boat - not getting my contact images to appear in Outlook 2013.  From what I can tell so far, iCloud works better (or possibly only) with the 32-bit version of Outlook 2013.  I couldn't get it to work at all with the 64-bit version.  With the 32-bit version, iCloud calendar works fine but contacts were causing Outlook to crash.  I repaired iCloud 2.0 using that option in the Programs and Features function in Windows 8 and that got my iCloud contacts to appear in Outlook without crashing it.  Now, it's just getting the images to download.  Logging out and logging back in again didn't help even though it said it was downloading images.  Doing this, however, created a listing under My Contacts, called "Contacts - iCloud Archive" and this set of contacts had most of the contact images I have on my other computers/devices.  This is clearly a work in progress which will probably resolve itself in a short while.

  • Import contacts from old outlook 2013 to new Outlook 2013

I recently had to get a new computer.  I removed the boot drive from the old computer and installed it as drive F on the new computer. This worked great in recovering my large data files.  However, drive F contains an instance of Outlook 2013
as does drive C.  How do I copy to or import drive F's contact info to the new Outlook 2013 contacts?  I do not need the old email messages as I already have gotten them from the email service provider.

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to import contacts from old Outlook 2013 to the new Outlook 2013 please follow these steps: -
Collect Files from the Old Computer
First, you need the PST from your old computer. In most cases, they will be in the default location Outlook uses. To quickly access the default PST location outside of
Outlook, paste this line in Windows Explorer’s address bar:
    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Copy the Files to the New Computer
Now, you will copy the PSTs to the new computer. If you have several PSTs in the folder and are not sure which one is the one with your data, look at the file dates and
file sizes. If you have 265KB PST files, they are empty and don’t need to be moved.
Paste the following line into the address bar.
    %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
In this folder you will have the NK2, SRS, XML, outlprnt, and VBA project files.
Open the AppData Roaming folder using the following command and copy the NK2 file to the folder.
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook
    Create a Profile
After the PST file is on the local drive, type mail in the start search field on the
Start menu or go to Control Panel, Mail then opens the profile dialog. (If you use the
Category view, mail is under the Users group; in Win 64-bit, Mail is under 32-bit application.
    Click the Show Profile button.
Click Add to create a new profile.
Enter a descriptive name for your profile.
Enter the name you want to use for your display name, your email address, and your password.
Add Your Existing Data File (PST) to the Profile
If you have an Outlook data file PST, and you want to use with your new profile, then please follow these steps: -
Select the newly created profile, then click Properties.
Click Data files button to open Account Setting dialog to the Data files tab.
Click Add then browse to your existing PST file.
If the PST is a native Outlook 2003/2007 file type, choose the top entry for the Outlook Personal File. Click Ok.
    Select your existing PST file.
You can enter a friendly name or just click OK to return the Account Settings dialog.
Click the Sets as Default button. Select the PST Outlook created when it created the profile and click Remove. If you want, click Open folder to find and deletes this PST.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Bussiness Contact Manager for outlook 2013 download hijacked by

    HI
I am using Outlook 2013 downloaded as part of the Office 365 small business premium package.  I am trying to download Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 (via
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=36513).
The file downloads fine, and then when I go to run the file the download seems to get hijacked by Premium Installer (see screenshot).
The BCM file then will not download irrespective of whether I accept or decline the Premium Installer download.
The file seems to have something to do with Zoom Downloader.
I have tried to remove Zoom Downloader with various anti malware software (hitman pro, Malwarebytes, etc etc).
I have scanned my machine with the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and AVG and neither have picked up a threat.
Please help as I do not know whether this is a problem with my machine or the particular download.
    Thanks

I did a complete uninstall of Driver Tuner, including making sure all traces were removed and after each attempt of downloading Business Contact Manager the download file still tries to install Driver Tuner and I cancel the installation.
Strange that you say you can download with no problem, but have you tried to install? Microsoft Tech support was having the same problem and was having trouble even finding a mirror site that BCM could be download from without experiencing the same problems
of the download trying to install a different program.
Have you tried downloading BCM recently? Perhaps you could share where a clean copy of BCM 2010 can be downloaded. And before you think there is no problem, try and install it. After the extraction is when another program tries to install.
Again, short of formatting my drive and reinstalling all programs, everything has been checked and my system is clean.
So you think Time Warner Cable DNS has been hijacked? If so, why is it only the program files from the Microsoft site that has this problem.
Please share the site where a clean copy of BCM 2010 can be downloaded.
I visited the link provided by the OP and downloaded the offered file
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=36513
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/confirmation.aspx?id=36513
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/3/3/B333E334-EBEB-451E-AE76-ACD0C1AB1A6A/BCM2010-BCMSetup-x86-en-US.exe
It has downloaded cleanly for me, extracted, installed, and running fine, no sign of DriverTuner or anything else that has been mentioned here so far.
I did need to have Office2013 installed - this BCMsetup refuses to install with only Office2010 (despite the filename, not all that surprising).
So I'm guessing that your uninstallation of DriverTuner might have left some remnants behind, and that is probably hooking/intercepting the download and/or the BCMsetup you're doing, or there's some other crapware lingering.
And true, I agree it's unlikely that Time Warner Cable DNS has been hijacked (but at the time you posted, who knew if you were using an ISP DNS or some other local thing) - it's much more likely that your pc is infested with some further junk.
I'm in Australia, so I could be contacting a different Akamai CDN host than you are using, but since there aren't floods of people complaining about the same issue you're having, I'd guess it is a localised issue for you.

  • How do I sync my calendar and Contacts with MS Outlook 2013?

I'm switching to a Samsung S5 from an Iphone 4S.  I used the icloud to manage contacts and my calendar with its integration with Microsoft Outlook 2013.  For a variety of reasons, I want to stick with my desktop version of Outlook rather than going to Outlook 365, but I need to figure out how I can share the calendar and contacts.  Does Google or someone else have an app that integrates with Outlook?

    Hello Fiona,
Congratulations on your new iPhone!  You can sync information to your iPhone from your MacBook Pro using the Info tab in iTunes when your iPhone is connected.  Use the steps in the following article:

  • Only half my contacts sync with Outlook 2013!!

I have an iPhone 4 (OS 7.1) with 950 contacts on it. I am wanting to back them up. It seems I can only back up to outlook or windows contacts. I have chosen Outlook and it syncs about half of my contacts fine. I am not sure what has happened to the remaining contacts!!!! I have spent 3 hours trying to resolve this but with no luck. The only other thing to note is my Apple ID is different to my work email ...but not sure that makes a difference!!! Also, as these are work contacts our corporate guidelines say that we cannot us iCloud.
    Please someone help!! :-(

    Hello Jonno F
Check out the article below for more information on trying to import your contacts that are on your iPhone to your computer. I know you said you are not allowed to use iCloud for syncing contacts, but it might by synced with another service. To look for that, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and look at your mail accounts and if one of them says contacts, then those will be on that syncing service.  You can also view them when you are in the Contacts App and tap Groups in the upper right hand corner. It will then display any groups as well as any other separation of Contacts through different accounts and locally stored contacts.

  • Outlook 2013 Contact manager cannot create database

    Hi,
I have installed my Office 2013 Home & Business on a Windows Server 2012 R2. My outlook 2013 is working. Thereafter I downloaded the 2013 Contact manager and tried to create a database.
An error message from Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool says
'Cannot retrieve the list of SQL Server instances. Please make sure that SQL Server 2005 or greater is installed and that the service is running.'
I have also installed an older versions of SQL Server 2008 - I have the same error message. It seems that the BCM software cannot detect the older SQL server 2008 also.
Any pointers for me to resolve this?
I dont find any thread that deals with my problem. Since then, I have installed the SQL Server 2008 and it still does not read the application. The error is as below.

    Hi,
Please refer to this kb below:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/942496
Althought the kb is for Outlook 2007, it can still be a reference in your scenario:
This problem may occur if the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) service is not running. The SQL Server service is required by Business Contact Manager. This problem occurs because the Windows Welcome screen may prevent the SQL Server service from starting when you first
restart the computer after you install Office Outlook with Business Contact Manager.
    Please try if this helps:
    Exit Outlook.
On Desktop, right-click This PC, and then click Manage.
    Click Services and Applications.
    Double-click Services.
In the services pane, click SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ).
    Click Restart the service.
Exit Computer Management, and then start Outlook.
If the issue persists, what does the event log messages say? If there's not much private, please post the logs in the forum.

  • Outlook 2013 and iCloud contacts and calendar?

What does it take to get outlook 2013 to access my iCloud contacts and calendar?
I can log into ICloud and see my contacts and my calendar.  My iPhone works with iCloud just fine.
However, Outlook 2013 doesn't know iCloud has a calendar or contacts and I cannot access them. I have tried to add my iCloud contact file to Outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly. I have tried to add my ICloud calendar file to outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly either,  In Outlook 2013, when I click on either the "Calendar" or "People" at the bottom of the Outlook screen, what comes up is blank, no contacts, no calendar items.  I can long into iCloud and see the calendar and contacts just fine.
Surely, someone must know how to get this to work. I must not be adding the contact file or calendar file correctly in the Outlook 2013 Account Settings.  I cannot find any place where it discusses these settings.  I have tried to add them as https://www.icloud.com/#contacts or #calendar.  That has not worked.  Can anyone explain to me what I have to do to get these two products to communicate with each other?
    Gary

I have to say that I have gone through this setup several times by removing the check items on the icloud control panel and rechecking them and it accomplished nothing.  This time when I opened up the icloud control panel, the calendar item was unchecked.  Don't know why.  I checked it and it went through a process of moving a few thousand items into outlook.  When I opened outlook, my contacts and calendar items were there.
Thank you for the guidance.  I have contacts and calendar items available now.  Great news.

  • Not all contacts appearing in "People" tab in Outlook 2013.

    Hello.
So the issue is this:  An employee at the company will add someone into their contact list in Outlook 2013, and the contact will not appear under the "People" view. The contact will appear in the global address list, but not everyone in the
GAL will appear under the people tab. As far as I know he is the only one with this issue. I've repaired and re installed Office 13, Rebuild the index and updated his GAL and nothing seems to have worked. I have been unable to find a solution online and he
has to sit on it for now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    How about in OWA?
If the user appears under the "People" view in OWA, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
Please run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
Please re-create a profile to refresh the caches.
If this behavior remains in OWA, I suggest re-creating the specific user account for testing.
Please make a full back up before re-creating.
    Thanks

cduffy, I know how children can be interested in a cell phone because of how much fun they are so I totally understand. I am happy you were able to resolve your issue. Please let us know what steps you took to figure this one out. I wanted to list below some steps to merge your contact information from facebook with your phone.
The Motorola Droid contact list application uses an intelligent merge feature to combine contact information from various sources (Gmail, Microsoft Exchange, Facebook, new entries, etc.).
From the home screen, select the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).
    Select Contacts.
Select the Contacts tab then select the desired contact.
    Select Menu.
    Select Edit contact.
    Select Menu.
    Select Join.
    Select the contact.
Information from these contacts will be merged and be displayed as one contact.
Verify the contact information has merged correctly (e.g. phone numbers, email address, etc.) then select Done.

  • ICloud control panel not syncing with outlook 2013

I have installed iCloud on windows 7 64-bit. after installation it asked if I want to sync with outlook my mail , contacts etc. so I selected the option to sync and clicked apply.
The program said that it needs to setup mail, contacts etc with outlook 2013 and the loading gif started to work , then I click on close .

    am I missing something here?

In Outlook 2013, I navigated to "People" and copied the contacts that I wanted to sync from the "Contacts" folder to the "Search Results" folder (<ctrl>+[drag and drop] to folder in left hand Folder pane).
iTunes then synchronised those contacts (only) fine.

  • Can't Sync Outlook 2013

On my work PC, I was recently upgraded to Office 2013 from Office 2010. iCloud had been happily syncing my contacts, calendars, reminders, etc., with Outlook before the upgrade and continued to do so afterwards. However, I've had the issues other have also reported with Photostream not working, so when iCloud Control Panel 4.0 came out, I asked my IT administrator to give me the update in hopes that it would solve that issue (it didn't). Once that was installed, iCloud complained that there were two versions of Outlook installed and we discovered Outlook 2010 hadn't been removed. We removed it. After removing the old version of Outlook, iCloud seems to think there is no version of Outlook installed -- in lieu of a check box to sync my contacts, etc., iCloud says "You can access Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders at iCloud.com."
Is there any way to help iCloud see my Outlook installation again? I've tried signing in and out, I've tried deleting the Apple folder under AppData/Roaming and I've even tried removing the Outlook folder under AppData as well. No luck.
    Thanks,
    Tim

So I was having this issue and I don't have a long-term fix, but I feel as though my short-term fix may help ease some frustrations. I don't work for microsoft, but here's what I did:
    Background:
My situation was that I tried to import my gmail contacts but found that many were missing in my address book. My contacts were however synced to my outlook.com web account, so I tried using those gmail steps with outlook. I know that other people were having
issues with hotmail, of which I can't help because I don't have an account, but if you can find a way to import it into your outlook.com account, this is what you do next:
To sync your outlook.com contacts with your outlook 2013 program, you can easily export your contacts through outlook.com:
    Outlook --> People --> Manage --> Export
The file should start downloading, and will be named WLMContacts.csv. Then click the below link and follow the steps below starting from "Import your Google Gmail contacts into Outlook" (it's about halfway down, after step 7 of the "Export your
Google Gmail contacts to a file").
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/import-google-gmail-contacts-into-outlook-HA104035588.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA102919678
After these steps, your outlook should pop up with a progress bar screen and start syncing the contacts. To check if it worked, try a contact that you know didn't appear in your Outlook program before.
Best of luck, and I really hope this helps until Microsoft fixes the issue!

  • Outlook 2013 taking long time start but in safe mode not

    Hello!
In our company we started to use Outlook 2013 clients, several users are contacting us because Outlook 2013 needs about a 1 minute or more to show that is loading the application / "Loading window":
If the user by mistake try to open Outlook again, pops the next message:
"Sorry, we're having trouble startind Outlook. Only one version of Outlook can run at time. Check to see of anopther version of Outlook is running, or try restarting your computer."
And also appears another one with saying:
"The operation failed due to an installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall."
After that if they try to open again Outlook, Outlook suggest to open it in "Safe Mode".
If they clic on "Yes" Outlook starts very fast but if they click on "No" takes about 1 or 2 minutes to pop the Outlook "Loading window"
As in Safe Mode loads quick, we tried to disable all the Addins in Outlook but didn't resolve the issue.
Also tried to repair and reinstall the Office package, create a new local profile with new OST file.
The issue happens to diferent email/user accounts and computers.
We are working using Exchange configurations, and our build is W7 x64 enterprise, office 2013 32bits Standard.
    Thanks for your help!

  • How to get contact pictures off iPhone

I saved a picture with most of my contacts on my iPhone. Now I'd like to get those pictures off of the iPhone and onto a computer. Can someone help?
So you know, I took the contact pictures from directly within the contact editor. I've tried sync'ing to my computer, but I only get thumbnails on my computer when I want the whole picture (I'm going to transfer the pictures to another iPhone).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have no clue, but don't think resolution is all that crucial.
Even a low-res picture can help preserve an important memory. Or something that makes a good phone contact picture may likely also make a good avatar for flickr, twitter, etc, and it would not need to be full resolution for such purposes.
Nothing taken with the iPhone is all that high-res anyhow. IIRC, pix assigned on the phone show up full-screen, so it's probably not as low-res as the teeny photo assigned on the desktop and transferred via sync.
Incidentally, google turned up this method of retrieval, using the Mac:
If you click "edit" on the contact's entry in Address Book and then double click inside their picture, it will appear as a somewhat bigger version, which you can copy with command-C. But it's a far cry from full-resolution.
    http://forums.macnn.com/103/ipod-iphone-and-apple-tv/341591/iphone-contact-photo s-how-to-extract/
I can't test it, though, as I don't sync contacts, and really have no clue whether the iPhone sync contact pictures to Outlook on Windows, which I assume the OP uses.

  • Connect Outlook 2013 to Sharepoint 2010 External List fails

Clicking Connect to Outlook in a SharePoint 2010 external list (ECT) produces the following message:
"The Microsoft Common Language Runtime 3.5 is not installed on this computer."
The client is Office 2013 Pro Plus 32-bit on Windows 8.1 64-bit with a standard installation including BCS. .Net 3.5 has been installed from Turn Windows features on or off.
On Windows 7 and Outlook 2013, clicking Connect to Outlook results in the usual running of the .vsto, but nothing happens in Outlook (SharePoint External Lists does not appear). Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 works correctly. Connecting to a standard SharePoint

    Hi Canadian,
To synchronize external data with Office products, you must have Windows 7 or later and the following free software products: SQL Server Compact 4.0, .NET Framework 4, and WCF Data Services 5.0 for OData V3 on each client computer (If necessary, you are
automatically prompted to download the software).
