  • How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade?

    Dear wise & wondeful people:
How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade? Half of my contacts, notes, ect. were on my iCloud so have happily moved to my new iPhone but the rest are completely resistant. For example, on my iCloud I have 14 missing contacts starting with the letter A alone, however they are happily viewable on my old iPhone 4S and won't budge over into the iCloud.
There are also 3 notes missing yet still acessible on my onld iPhone 4S, the list goes on.
Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you so much.

  • Contacts entered on iPhone 4s suddenly missing, present on iCloud - how to recover?

Wife's iPhone 4s has out-of-date Yahoo contacts, but is suddenly missing all of the contact information she has entered on the iPhone itself.
iCloud sync is currently disabled - apparently by default when upgraded to iOS 7? - but when we login to iCloud, most or all of the contacts she entered are available.  (Latest sync w iCloud may be a couple of months ago; latest sync with iTunes on Macbook Pro was over 2 years ago, so no joy there.)
How to safely recover contacts from iCloud back to iPhone, without resetting iPhone?
    Concerns:
    (1) Clearly if we reset the iPhone, it would restore from iCloud - but would also lose text conversations, at least the ones that happened since the last sync.
    (2) If we simply re-enable iCloud sync, will missing contacts be copied from iCloud to phone?  or will they instead be deleted from iCloud, because they were seemingly "removed" from phone after latest sync?
    (3) Do we need to delete all contacts from phone, then enable iCloud sync?  But see concern #2! - and also, will deleting Yahoo contacts from phone delete them from Yahoo too?
Any advice or procedural pointers greatly appreciated - thanks!

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • ICloud missing contacts

Yesterday my icloud backed up iphone 5 (v7.0.2) lost maybe 5% of its over 1000 contacts.
I opened contacts on my late 2009 imac 27 (v10.8.5) and found it had lost ALL contacts except for 9 random ones left.
I logged on to my icloud account and found that my contacts on icloud.com mirrored what was on my iMac. ie I had somehow lost virtually my whole address book of more than 1000 names even though they are still (mostly) on my iphone
Calendars and email which iCloud is also set up for seem to be behaving normally.
Previously my iCloud contacts had appeared to be performing as normal across 3 devices, the other being a macbook pro retina (v10.8.5) which is the only device to still retain all contacts complete, however I have not connected to the internet on it since I discovered this issue as I expect contacts may vanish if I do.
Any ideas what is going on with my iCloud contacts disappearing? Kind of defeats the object of using it as a backup...
    Thnaks

    *ALSO
Just did a reset on the phone (which i have done 3 or 4 times already) re-setup the icloud, and same thing.

  • I use Google as my primary Contacts manager and it is set up as an Exchange account on my iPhone. Does this mean I can't sync my contacts to iCloud?

When I activated the sync contacts with iCloud option, only 93 of 912 contacts showed up in iCloud.com. I assume it is because all 829 missing are considered as Exchange contacts. As stated when you activate Contacts sync in iCloud, Exchange cannot be synced. Is there a way I could sync all my Google contacts to iCloud?

Is there a way I could sync all my Google contacts to iCloud?
import them to your OSX adressbook. This is what gets synced to the icloud, nothing else.

  • Missing contact information

Has anybody encountered this problem.  I am missing entire fields of information from many of my contacts on my mac runnning Mountain Lion.  On most of the missing items I am only getting their name and company with the rest of the information blank.  You cannot even go to edit and reenter, as the field will not come up.
When I go and look at my contacts in iCloud, all of the data is there.
I have tried turning off contacts and letting iCloud delete all of the icloud contacts off the Mac, and then turning it on again, which reimports.  Same problem with no change.  The same contacts are missing the same data.
This is global on all my computers running Mountain Lion.  I have not encountered this in Lion.
Anyone know whats up or what to do to fix?

I have found the reason why about half of my contacts are missing all fields except name, title and company (the ones at the very top).
It's because they have "United States of America" in the Country field (automatically entered by Outlook and probably the old Mac Address Book App, too).  This is the correct name of our country, Apple programmers!!  It IS NOT 'United States", which is what is in their new drop-down list of countries.  Apparently, if your country is not in their list, you won't be able to see any data for that person!
So I had to go thru my whole address book and change the country name in order to see my contacts.
The way I did it was I logged into icloud.com, clicked on Contacts, searched for "of America" and changed them all to "United States".  At the same time, I had my local Contacts open and I watched them populate as I changed each country field.
Try just changing one, and then look at your local Contacts (if it's syncing with iCloud).  It will magically populate all fields.
I know that MacWorld put out an article on how to REPLACE ALL INSTANCES of something in Contacts, but I don't know where that is.  I'm sure you could go to their website and find it.
Hopefully, they won't change it back and still require us to choose from the list of country names!  Then I'll have to change them all back.
I had a similar problem in Snow Leopard with those same contacts, only I could see all fields except the address fields.  Lion fixed the problem.  Then Mountain Lion brought it back with a vengeance!

  • How to find ungrouped contacts in icloud?

Hi there! I just started using icloud for my contacts. I am trying to group ungrouped contacts, yet I do not see an option to be able to view the ungrouped ones. Am i missing something?
Also, can we not import facebook contacts into icloud? And if not, are there any tricks (easy!) to get around this?
I am using an iphone 4S, and a PC on Win 7.
    Thanks in advance!

Really? No answers for this one at all? O_o  I've searched and only found some solutions for Macs, yet nothing for PC's.

  • Syncing both "Contacts" contacts and "Phone" contacts to iCloud

I have an iPhone 4, and when tryig to upload my contacts from my phone to iCloud I noticed some were missing. I went through my phone and found some of my contacts are in the "Contacts" app, and others are in the "Phone" app. How do I get all of these together and onto iCloud, or at least all into one app on my iPhone?
When I attempt to sync my phone contacts to iCloud it only transfers the contacts from the "Phone" app, leaving all the contacts in the "Contacts" app behind.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but you could try something like this:
Put your phone in airplane mode so it does not connect to the internet (and to iCloud)
Restore your iTunes backup as before.
When completed, go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts to Off.  If prompted, choose Delete from My iPhone.
If you have only a few contacts on icloud.com, you can just copy them down to re-enter later.  If you have many contacts on icloud.com, download them as a vCard file to your desktop as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910, under "Contacts...iCloud.com Contacts".
    Delete all contacts on icloud.com.
Turn off airplane mode to allow your phone to connect to icloud.
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to On and choose Merge when prompted.  Your recovered contacts should now be in iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and confirm that it is set to your iCloud account.  If you don't have this setting you can skip this step.
If you downloaded contacts from icloud.com as a vCard in step 4, email this file to yourself, open the email on your phone and tap the attachement to import these back to your phone and to iCloud.
If iTunes does not allow you to restore the backup while the phone is in airplane mode just leave airplane mode off and restore nomally.  When the restore process begins to restore your apps on the phone, perform step 3, then wait until the restore process finishes to complete the remaining steps.

  • HT1692 After synching, I updated to newer version of iTunes. I do not have contacts on my phone - but I have all the messages and photos there still. How do I find my missing contacts?

After synching, I updated to newer version of iTunes. I do not have contacts on my phone - but I have all the messages and photos there still. How do I find my missing contacts?

    Still no success.
My problem, in part, is that I have 2 iphones. I transferred one to another computer that now syncs with iCloud. The other phone I was updating today on my old computer. It was recognised by iTunes, and automatically synched. Then I updated it to a newer version of iTunes, and lost my contacts on that iPhone. I have trawled to Windows Contacts but to no avail.

  • ITunes & iOS 5 Upgrades-missing backups, missing contact info

Using Windows XP, upgraded iTunes to 10.5.0.142 couple of days ago, then iOS 5 yesterday. When I installed iOS 5, it didn't reload my apps AND was missing any contact data beyond 2 phone numbers.  In iTunes and on my pc \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup I only had 1 backup from yesterday (the day I upgraded) and it didn't inlcude my last iOS4 backup either.  I had sync'd multiple times last week as I was adding contacts. WHERE DID THEY GO?
Also missing contact phone numbers where I had more than 2 phone numbers.  Noticed in my Favorites that some were numbers and also tried other 'fixes' mentioned elsewhere like just editing one contact or importing SIM data -- none worked.  I have been using iDrive Lite so I can recover some, but ***?  Don't know what else is missing.
And, apps didn't restore at all.  Have to redownload all, but at least app data seems to have been preserved.  What's going on???

I have solved it by unchecking (momentaneously till apple fix it) the "Convert higher bit rate songs" option.
I know that it need more space but i don't have too much music synced so.. it isn't a problem for me..
I have this problem because i'm using the "manually manage music and videos", i'm not using the auto sync option because iTunes always try to copy my new apps to my mac even having that option unchecked...
Now we have iCloud... i don't know why apple still have not deleted this feature!
Anyway... i have solved it momentaneously.
    Apple.... come on!

  • Problems with iTunes 7.1.2 : Missing Contacts Info

Problems with iTunes 7.1.2 : Missing Contacts Info !
I synced my iPhone 5s (running v 7.1.1) to my late 2010 MacBook Pro 13" (OSX 10.9.4) using iTunes (can't remember exactly which version of iTunes, but whatever was the latest around the end of May 2014).
Subsequently, I upgraded my iPhone 5s to v 7.1.2 and also upgraded iTunes to 11.3.1 (2), then synced my 5s to my MacBook Pro.
Following this, on both my iPhone and on my Mac (I don't use iCloud), many of my Contact details had reverted to a much older version, and most of the information under the "notes" field in each contact was missing.
Is there a way to revert to the prior version of iTunes (7.1.1) or otherwise restore this missing information?  There is critical information in my Contacts that has now ceased to exist!

Often in upgrading the OS, QT or FCP for some odd reason QT will get knocked slightly off kilter. Before doing the step back to 6.5.2, try a complete QT reinstall.
    This is how:
Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg
Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.
    Run the Quicktime installer.
Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)
    Reboot
FWIW, FCP4.5 can run without issue under 10.4.x and QT7, but it is VERY stable under 10.3.9 and QT6.5.2.
    Good luck.

  • How can i restore my contact from icloud to iphone4g???

how can i restore my contect icloud to iphone4g??? help me pls..,

    Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page.  If they are gone, then they are gone (must have done something wrong doing an upgrade or whatever).
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud.  Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID.  If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost.  Then log back in using the correct ID.  ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note:  Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers.   So performing a restore will not help.

  • TS3991 Missing Contacts?

My iPhone and iPad are missing contacts that are in iCloud and on my MacBook Pro.  I "Reset Documents & Data" per instructions on iCloud to no avail.  Can you help?

Sounds like you have some contacts in the From My Mac groups that are not in iCloud; they may have been synced to your phone at some point.  On your iPhone, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off and choose Delete from My iPhone.  Then check you contacts to confirm that some are still there.  If so, check a few against your contacts on icloud.com to confirm they are not on icloud.com.
If you still have contacts on your phone that are not on icloud.com at this point you can add them to iCloud by doing the following:
If you haven't already done so, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn Contacts off and choose Delete from My iPhone.
Download the app My Contacts Backup.  (If there are 500+ contacts remaining on your phone you will need the Pro version.)  Use this app to backup the remaining contacts on your phone as a vCard attachment to an email and send it to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email on your phone.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and confirm this is still set to iCloud.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the On My Mac groups to iCloud.  Go to icloud.com to confirm that they appear there.
If the On My Mac contacts are still on your phone, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off and choose Delete from My iPhone.  Open the My Contacts Backup app, tap the gear-shaped icon the bottom right.  In the window that opens, scroll to the bottom and tap Remove All Contacts.  Then go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back on.  The duplicate contacts from the On My Mac groups should now be gone from your phone and they should all be in iCloud.
